There were better boys and younger than him there.

Those boys who were outstanding got promoted to the first team. Two defender CB went from U23 to the first team , when all three first CB got injured.

It's what you do in the youth teams that gives you a bridge to the first team. And then when you get the opportunity or chance do you utilize and make a name for yourself.

Saka got a chance at Arsenal as a 16 year old and claimed a permanent position he just turned 20 a month ago . And he has played 3 competitive season s in the EPL already and is a key player for Arsenal and England national team.

So your proposition about endless training and drills doesn't really cut it for me .

If l look at Liverpool Youth team , my prediction are for a certain 18 year old midfielder James Balagizi, to be the next big thing. It may not happen but that's my view .

A lot of the U23 players will train with the first team and if they impress they get in. Some do it immediately by some needs lots of drilling ( according to you )

In my opinion it's not so deep, managers have preferences and that shows in their selections.

The funny thing here is that, being realistic, Cape Verde's chances of winning that Tuesday match is almost zero. If you notice, our team mostly struggles against a team that came to draw. And honestly, you can't possibly thrash a team that came to defend. The only major problem with our team is that we miss clear chances a lot. Without those silly misses, we should be giving those small defensive minded African teams at least 2 nil.

Rohr's preferred tactic is counter attack, because we have excellent attackers, that's why it is difficult for big teams to overcome Nigeria. But once the opponent is laid back, na wahala because we are not yet at that elite level of creativity to tear defences open easily. So if you sit back against Nigeria, you have a chance of winning or drawing. If any of those teams had tried to keep the defence line higher, trust me na 4-nil or above.

However, for Cape Verde, coming to Lagos to sit back, will be very difficult for them to do, even if the coach says so, given that they have more at stake and sitting back will more likely lead to a draw than a win. So their only option is to score an early goal, then sit back. But that will be a gamble for them, because Rohr's counter attack strategy could lead to a goal in their net and keep them attacking, which will result in more goals against them, trust me. Osimhen so far only has 5 Goals in the League with no Assist in 10 Games, and 4 Goals in 3 Matches in UEL. Osimhen is doing fine and we should rather pray he's injury free and keep up with his Form.

Sarr is good. Diatta too. Senegal have young strikers too, Habib Diallo was dragging highest goalscorer with Osimhen in Ligue 1 and he's young too. Boulaye Dia is doing it with Villarreal this season. Niang and Diagne are also decent back ups.

Where Senegal really edges us though is in defense. You have K2 who is a world class CB, along with Abdou Diallo competing in a star studded PSG side. Bouna Sarr is at Bayern, Kouyate is at Crystal Palace. Ballo-Toure who is one of the best young fullbacks in Serie A currently at RB. You then have the best goalkeeper in the world currently in goal. Complete backline.

My only problem with Senegal is their coach. The guy is disciplined, passionate etc, but he isn't tactically sound. It has been exposed multiple times, today for example. He is basically a younger version of Rohr tactically. If Senegal can get themselves a coach on the level of Belmadi tactically, they will enter top 10 globally in no time because the talents are there.

Yes I agree. They need a good finisher. Someone who can deliver 20 to 30 goals every season. But my point is, it doesn't have to be an out and out striker.

See Salah, Mane, they give you goals from the wing. City just need a clinical finisher.

As for Hary Kane, if you watch his game well you will notice he's a different breed of striker. Combines good finishing with dropping deep to get and distribute the ball. Aguero is a great example. Such Strikers are what Pep need. And they are very rare.

Rhor might slowly ease Ighalo in but if we are up against tough offensive sides, don't get shocked if Rhor starts Ighalo ahead of Osimhen.

If Rhor is going conservative, he will likely start Ighalo ahead because Ighalo suits that style more.

This is what happens when coaches that prefer a conservative approach against top teams. Remember how the likes of Lukaku, Mata, De Bruyne, Salah, and David Luiz did not suit Mourinho at Chelsea.

That is why Rhor can prefer to start Awaziem as a right-back ​over the likes of Aina and Ebuehi.

Rhor's mindset is that the opposition are better and the team must shape up to nullify their greatness. He does not coach with the mentality that his side is better.

I think this is the biggest reason why we should start sticking to indigenous coaches. No matter how we put it, we believe in ourselves more than these foreign coaches do.

We believe we are exceptional and can achieve great things. These white coaches see us as incapable.

So with all the flair and gifts of our players, Rhor does not see it. That is why he needs more defenders than midfielders.

Musa played mostly as a striker for cska in his prime, while ejuke played as a winger. Nontheless, ejuke still has to produce (goals or assist) in order to reach musa status. Dribble dribble without end product isn’t it
