@ enitan i dont ve to tell u to send me all the necessary software for zain gprs.@ all in ph and bayelsa,we can also get nilesat using 2.4m dish. This has been tested and confirm by me.i use 2.6m dish i also ve 2.8m dish and 3.2m dish for nile.but 2.6m which is almost like 2.4m can give above 200 channels in nile.I ll post the picture of how this setup is arranged. All dish re locally constructed.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 10:42pm On Oct 07, 2008
@ all if we in ph can receive nilesat with 2.4m dish,i think nile has come to stay fully in naija.myself and iwe re going to try it out fully this saturday.as of today we re able to get mbc's,showtime, aljazeera sprts channels and many more.we ll still try out a 3.2m dish the same day.i ll get u guys posted on our findings.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 6:45pm On Oct 05, 2008
@ enitan/all-we got nilesat with 2.4m local constructed pan dish here in ph.if some of u can remember sometimes ago, when i posted about trying nilesat with one local dish and was able to get only the 1st freq, due to the nilesat speculation in this forum,i gave the guy a call to book appointment with me over the weekend but to my suprise the guy called me ysternite and told me i got it on his own(dont be suprise cos he too follow this forum)but his signal is weak making him loosing all signal around 9am till 7pm.imagine what we happen when i ll be there myself 2morrow.badaru i need u help in this.we need to have mbc's 24/7 in ph.i ll post the details but my problem is i ve many motorize dish at hand now.PLZ PLZ, anybody with good suggestion should help me with this: am having signal intervation on c-band signal resulting to unbearable cracking even with high signal quality.the dish is mount on top of 2 storey building and i believe the intervation is coming from gsm mass around, now which lnbf ll be suitable?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 11:37am On Oct 03, 2008
@ olofofo- my email is exposed beside my username.use yahoo. @ all- i still mentain that nilesat has been receiving in southern naija using 2.4m dish before now.i was thinking that u guys in lagos was using 2.4m.obnelly is in west with 2.4m and butoneday was using 2.4m strong dish for nilesat in warri, and lagos is higher than warri. All, it still remain ph,and eastern naija.who have 2.4m pan dish in ph?call me for nilesat.bigjoe and onyengbu since u re in motherland,i ll be coming home (onitsha)this november so we can also give it a try nwanne!
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 7:46am On Oct 02, 2008
@ enitan/badaru-nice job, keep it up.But enitan, this is not the first time nilesat has been gotten with 2.4m dish in lagos, some of our forum members here were convience in alaba market some years back in which they took the 2.4m dish home for nilesat. If u go alaba market they ll scan nilesat channels into ur receiver using 2.4m dish, another thing is the high signal level we re receiving now in nilesat is due to fine wheather in the middle east and north africa.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 11:41am On Oct 01, 2008
@ all- i got sabc with 1.8m dish in ph.i ll also try nilesat with 2.4m dish here in ph before the week runs out.it seems that wheather is very clear this time around.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 3:33pm On Sep 30, 2008
@ arsenal1
i believe that sabc will work in ph now though i am yet to try it cos my 1.8m dish is sleeping now but i ll wake it before the week runs out.My observation on numerous installation i ve done on this previous weeks shows that the signal level for so many t.p is high this period;imagine getting abc news with a motorized 2.4m dish now in ph.ABC NEWS most of us has forgotten due to poor signal.SABC is now up to 77% with old strong and 87% with x-series wow!!.

I still shade tears on some t.p we re unable to get here, imagine someone in lagos getting 2m morrocco @w6 with 1.8m dish and we here cannot get it even with 2.4m dish not only that, aljazeera @ arabsat can be received in western nigeria with a motorized 1.8m but a motorized 2.4m here happen to manage signal strength of 40-44% here,if u happen to increase it all other t.p ll be lost.(though it can come up to 77 something % but only when fixed)
Sometimes i feel maybe i dont know my work or i cant do it well, but wow!as u can see most guys here re from west, making me thinking that am the only one from the south south.if at a time i3312a09afound out that noone is willing to come out from this side of naija,i think i ll start following the forum
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 8:18am On Sep 29, 2008
@ enitan- since someone else has answered ur question regarding channels on 1.8m,i ll only advice u to buy strong c-band lnb(there's one engrave inside, {K5})for best performers.U can use eurostar dish or supermarx,i would ve suggest strong dish but since its rust quickly,go for either of the other two. It seem to suprise me how this guy got everything only 2.4m dish can give us here cos sabc is out of question for us here with 1.8m dish. @ obnelly-i dont think ur dish is really 2.4m,is ur dish locally constructed?if so take time to re-measure it again it might range from 2.6m to 2.8m or even more,or is it strong or eurostar dish?let us know. @ all-we should all try to update our profile with our different locations not just naija cos 98% of us re here in naija.

olofofo:
i believe you will require between a 2m-2.8m dish depending on where you are in Nigera. this is based on the coverage map u posted from lyngsat. the furtherest i have been able to get with  motorized pan 1.8m dish is Intelsat 4 @ 72E, it has some zambian (ZNBC) channel showing. that is actually the farthest my jack will go before blinking E2
If u re able to pick 72' on ur 1.8m,u can also due so on 78' but since u say that ur jack use to write error on reaching 72' that means u ve reach the maximum movement,so next time when u want to motorize a dish this what u do first;

1.(enitan take note) when casting ur pipe dont cast it straight later bend it a little bit to the east(as if
u re re falling it toward east)this ll now increase ur elevation on the east.

2.another option is when using double lnbf u can easily pick this signals when u re on 72'.but the lnb
for 76' should be a little bit on top of the 72' lnb.

3.ur jack setting play a very big roll here(not all installers know the best way to fix a jack)                 how jack is fixed also determine the maximum finishing of ur jack movement thereby giving u an elevation limitation.

N.B.FOR BEST RESULT USE MESH NET 2.4M DISH.

@ all
c-band users should check out this http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/t10_c.html.
if u guys can remember when i post about thaicm 5 @ 78'e,i was able to get it here in ph.and now this is 76',i ll still give it a try from tommorrow cos i ve 2 mesh motorize dish to work on in the next 2 days.

i ll post all the details u need for ur 1.8m dish setup later but hey! dont go buy anything till u got my message this because of ur space problem.
enjoy!

@ enitan
bros, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Abeg control ur anger.I know how u re feeling about this.I ll always give ur research 100% and still waiting for someone to prove u wrong with PORTHARCOURT CMTV CABLE COMPANY.

@ TOX
thanks for the osmi feed frequency. But our people say A WINE TAPPER DOES NOT SAY EVERYTHING HE SAW ON TOP OF PALM TREE.Plz these should end here.
About th gsat lnbf,go to any dstv dealer and ask for it, the one u bought in alaba might not be the original one.u can also try SHOP lnbf its also form dstv and its 0.2db.

@ badaru
we all know that the strong receiver we re using re all clone, but at least it is our own standard and it from the company direct.See, the different is that, though all this receivers work the same but in case of damage, these fake receivers re irreversible.
But is not like the 4666x (or whatever ) might not be the same standard with the original strong receiver from company, but who knows?

@ enitan
my dish is a 1.8m motorized dish.but my brother i regret going for 1.8m.am looking for a 2.4m pan dish motorize ready like eurostar.
the problem with pan dish is when they happen to fall from the jack holder, all work is lost.and 1.8m dish is not all that efficient with c-band signals mostly here in ph.though i was getting almost everything 2.4m should get except sabc's.
enitan lets chat.

@ iwe
i still mentain that enitan is right,see my brother when digital sunwin was introduce in ph on so called metrodigital,i did a lot of experiment on this issue.u see i brought cmtv receiver and copy out the freq they were using and i found out that their (let me call it symbol rate)is different,of course it should be,so i tried to input the sr. in the dvb-t,that was when i found out this;

1.using the same receiver i was able to pick trend digital and metrodigital.

2.using the same antenna on trend digital with cmtv receiver i was able to get cmtv signal.

3.but that same sunwin cannot pick cmtv.

4.so i found out that the sr. in the dvb-t comes in whole number and cant be edited like 3k,4k,5k but
the cmtv has a sr. like 6.23k so i was able to see only signal strength but no quality.

5.cmtv boldly write on their receiver DVB-C.

N.B. nobody ll make me prove enitan wrong dvb-t cant get dvb-c signal,if u doubt bring a dvb-t receiver and get me this cmtv signal even if they re encrypted.but beleive me dvb-c can get it.and this people left their signal open for a long time before.enitan how do i get this dvb-c?i ve search all the remaining tokombo we brought and all is dvc-t.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by pitodenz(m): 10:41am On Sep 20, 2008
@ iwe if u say u re in ph, u ve not done ur home work well.Enitan post on dvb-c is 100% correct and u should stop cofusing people here with all this converter stuff.Just ask urself why the metrodigital u mention their attenna doesnt need any voltage, just an element.Or why re we still not able to pick cmtv signal with all these receivers-suwin,bush,goodmas e.t.c.My guy the diff.still remain the same(dvb-c is diff.from dvb-t).N.B.correct me where am wrong plz dont feel offended.

@ Arsenal u can get more than 100 channels in station (fixed position)dish,using 1.8m dish.Just get 1 dual lnbf(ku and c-band combined together)position it at 68.5' u ll get all the c&ku band,then mount another c-band lnb on top,u ll get 906 @ 64'.Just give it a try.

@ enitan- i think u re right about the type of questions been ask here, but u ve to ignore them and post any relevant issues,i think when they could not get immediate response they ll start looking for a way out maybe they might ve time to read. @ ojofree- i dont think ur 90cm motor ll work here.Take for instant u re in 68.5' just lock ur dish movement there(azimuth),now move the elevation to 36' (dstv).can u get any signal?for sure NO! Ok,now go to 22'west still no signal.i dont want to mention w3a cos thats out of question.this experiment is manual movement of motor, remember that if u did not direct the motor well u ll get nothing. In europe their beam is so strong that they can be picked in the same direction in different elevation. So if one want to motorize a 90cm dish, look for a complete 90cm dish like LINKSAT,MYTV DISH or STRONG 90cm dish.N.B.most strong dish in market is 80cm likewise dstv dish. This 90cm motor was sold for 9k when i saw it in ph sometime last year.

When i said that daarsat is going to be our greatest enemy in fta is as if am spoiling their business.ok,now HD signal is their interest, well most lcd and plasma tv in market now are HD inbuild,so lucky for those who has it but that if they ever run free.HD receivers re very expensive.
