I deleted Instagram on my phone. The only condition I'll do Instagram is if I have a business to sell.

My fb account has been dormant for about 2 years now. First, I stopped posting anything about me, I only post about Arsenal but I stopped altogether for about 2 years now. However I opened another fb account where I have just 2 friends. That one is for the purpose of watching my church services live if I'm not able to make church.

I don't do Twitter. I deleted that one siiiiiiince!

On Whatsapp, I don't use my pictures as dp. I use work-related pictures. I don't post statuses. Ki lo n dun nu Jero mi?

I'm most active on Nairaland. I think it's because it's faceless. And even here, I'm barely known, it's safe that way.

I use my device to enhance my business. You will see a lot of stuff on my job on my laptop and phone. I read a lot of work-related stuff online. I do some online courses too.

Don't blame them. Aside school fees, which some students don't even pay, there's nothing coming into the school's account and they don't receive any funding from the government, despite paying so much for accreditation and other operating fees.

Those holiday lessons you see them organizing are merely to raise funds for the continuous day-to-day running of the school.

Everyone including the owner of the school whom you're working for, doesn't expect you to build your career there. It's just a place to manage pending when you get something much better, that's why there's no career growth cos I doubt if you'll see anyone who has spent above 10 years working in a private school most especially in a city.

I know of one actually where there are people who have worked for 35 years, 28, 30, 25 etc. They have a pension scheme too, leave allowances and bonuses, several on-the-job trainings and a cooperative society that has survived decades. You are not exactly overworked but every other thing wrong with a private school is wrong with them.

Come and see workload, I was ALWAYS tired and brain fatigued, I used to tell some of my colleagues I was close with that my brain can't even think of anything better for me to do, because those school owners give loads of work which gives you no time to use your brain to think for yourself.

Without meaning to be immodest, Exam has never messed me up. It's safe to call me an Ẹfiwe. I don't really read like that. All through my university days, I never had a library card but I never miss class and once I listened in class, no Tsunami can take it away from me. I had a group of friends/roommates that we sit together during exams. I was the youngest. They ask me, but I never ask them, it's belittling to ask but I oblige them because we're like sisters.

One incident that fazed me.... I was sick in school, it became serious and I had to do surgery so I went back home. By the time I returned, they'd done the test, I didn't receive any lectures on the course cause the lecturer never came around until few weeks to the exams and I'd left school at the time. Long story short, I came back wanting to write an exam I had no idea what the course was about. I begged the lecturer to let me at the very least do the test in his office, he refused cause he wanted sex.
On the exam day, my friends offered to teach me in the hall but I wasn't comfortable with that even though it was so easy to cheat as we were being watched by the dept. office assistant but I declined. I'll rather carry the course over. And that was what happened. I just wrote my name on the paper, my matric number and I returned it to the department clerk. People were shouting wait, wait! Even the clerk said "You can teach yourselves but don't make noise" I just can't!

The following year while I was resitting for the exam, this lecturer was right there in the hall. I sat in front and he sat right in front of me, he was even gisting and throwing light shades my way but I was unfazed... somebody that I had plans for. I don't cram but this particular course, I mean this man, he will have to explain it if I don't get my 'A'. I gave him back the exact way he gave it to us in his handout, 4 pages, word for word! Come and fail me let me see!

I have noticed this more than once. Whenever i take a lady out to a fancy restaurant, she always looks for a way to talk down on the food and make it seem she’s been to better places.

This has happened more than once and with different ladies its not a cooncidence. Mind you, these are pricy restaurants.

For someone like me, even if the food is not good, i wont even say anything especially when im not paying.

Good day, Nairaland families. I would appreciate it if mature and responsible families in the house could enlighten me on this. My son is only 7 years and 4 months old, and I allow him and his 5 year old sister to do minor chores such as making their beds when they wake up, sweeping their rooms to some extent, taking their plates to the kitchen after eating, and brushing their teeth at night. However, there is one thing I frown upon in the house, "Sending a young guy of his age on street errands," but I discovered that my wife finds it so easy to do so.

Most times my wife would want to get simple stuff like detergent and so, she calls him which i do stop from happening most times since i am of a personal opinion that it is rather too unsafe for him and he should not be sent on an errand alone until he is at least 10years old and above.

Please i want to know if I am simply the one overreacting and too overprotective OR a child of that age should not be sent on an errand?

It's a sensitive one because it depends on a lot of variables. Here, one size doesn't fit all! I grew up in Lagos when there was still sanity in the neighborhoods. But then, as sane as the society was, my mum didn't let us loose. Anyday l got sent down the street, I was super excited. I respect your not wanting your kids to be exposed, especially in this dangerous era that we're in. I particularly fear the kidnappers.

However, I don't support you shield them totally. How do they become street savvy? They need street credibility to be able to cope o if not people will be slapping them left, right and centre. You know how we sabi take advantage for Naija. In my neighborhood we call them "awon ọmọ get inside" You won't want them to be like that. I'm a mixture of both worlds. I always pray for my mum. She got the right mix, the accurate balancing. E no gud make person no get small skushi for head. Trust me, there'll be days you will need it.

An aside....
A boy, he couldn't be more than 13 or 14 sold a pair of shoes to me. The way he attended to me, the marketing, the attention to details, the salesman spirit...That boy can market Nigeria. I know his may be borne out of poverty or whatever, but I tell you his future is made.
