You might think that the biggest corrupt practices in Nigeria is the crooked allocation of oil wells but the biggest dollars are signed off through this subsidy, and subsidy did not just harm the petrochemical industries it harmed virtually everything.

Petrol Barron are crooks who would suply any amount of gasoline becuase the pay is directly from the national purse and Nigerians over use things that are dependent on petroleum because they don't understand how much they burn from the national purse each time that generator set is powered up.

Nigeria does not refine our crude oil part of the reason is because big petrol importers sabotage efforts to get our refineries working, what about electricity generation this same crazy affordability of petrol had equipped every home with generator set and people don't bother to put pressure on the government to generate more electricity apart from that, the same big conglomerate sabotage these efforts.

Now I know that Nigeria is a very crazy and densely corrupt country, but the reality is that everyone wants to be corrupt in this country, in fact everyone is corrupt, you can't be pointing fingers at the bigger fish when you want to steal over #200 from every litre of petrol you buy, if you look at it very well you figure out that in a month, an average Nigerian could have stolen more than #2000 from the country.

Don't even come here shouting how there is no job, really we export crude oil quite alright, then corrupt politicians and other chiefs would steal then we little people at the bottom steal then tell me how much would be left of our forex to achieve any meaningful thing.

Abroad remittances had been very significant becuase unlike us who stays here, abroad people don't steal from the country, yet they send back some money.

Irrespective of whatsoever reason I give, Nigerians would still prefer that subsidy stays but it is nothing but exhibition of an inherent corruption and unless the subsidy is removed when next you count list of corrupt Nigerians do remember to count yourself, we can't eat our cake and have it back subsidy is either removed today or we pay massive loans tomorrow.

Ending subsidy without tackling the issues that make subsidy possible would be daft, but not surprising for this type of government that we have been cursed with.

Nigeria pays billions of dollars/Naira for fuel subsidy for one simple reason:
As the 6th largest producer of crude in the world and one of the lowest cost producers, we do not refine our low-cost crude for domestic consumption. That is one of the greatest mysteries and tragedy of the modern century.

After 6 good years in Office, The greatest achievement for Buhari , despite his overwhelming ineptitude and failures in every aspect of governance , WOULD HAVE BEEN to get our 3 Refineries up to capacity to supply the domestic petroleum needs.

Subsidy exists because Nigeria/NNPC has to pay importers international price( USD) for refined petroleum products, and then sells it at a cheaper price to domestic consumers. So the higher the international price of oil , the more the FG pays in subsidy. Also, the weaker the Naira against the USD, the more the FG pays in subsidy.

The only solution would be for Nigeria's refineries to produce enough refined petroleum to meet domestic needs. Then as a low cost producer and refiner of petroleum products, NNPC would be able sell refined petroleum at COST to Nigerians, thereby eliminating the need for any kind of subsidy.

Another important, but very much overlooked issue is the issue of power supply. As a result of poor power supply, Nigerians Burn Billions and Billions of litres of SUBSIDIZED FUEL to power their generators everyday.
Just try to do a mental calculation of how many generators there are in Nigeria and how many hours each one burns , and how many litres of fuel burned each day, and then multiply that by the amount of subsidy per litre of fuel.
You would then realize that Nigeria is perhaps the only Nation in the entire universe that purposefully burn Billions of Naira everyday, and then runs to China the next day to borrow more.

Nigeria is Truly a Dystopian Paradise.

Only the government in power has the power to get our refineries fully functional, If ONLY THEY HAD THE WILL TO SO.

Let me lecture you on technicality of been peaceful.you defending yourself violently does not make you a violent person,because self defense is a right,not just a right but a fundamental one you get.

Ipob were always peaceful till they were attacked and killed in their numbers without remorse,they became defenceless and mocked even by you.
saying enough is enough and adoption of self defense is not a crime anywhere in the world except Nigeria.

You are wrong on many fronts.
First of all, Ipob is not a legally constituted authority in any jurisdiction in Nigeria. Ipob started out as a legitimate protest movement, but today, it is similar to bokoharam in many ways. What makes Ipob more pernicious is that Ipob have turned their violent wrath on their own people, defenseless Igbos in their homeland. Even for a terrorist organisation, I cannot find anything more stupid.
IPOB’s claim to be defending Igbo interests is now hogwash. Ipob is nothing but a personal cult of MNK. MNK feeds the the mass illiterate and semiliterate followers trash, and they happily follow.
With MNK in chains now, we now know that Ipob had no structure, none at all. With contradicting voices, orders and counterorders, allegations of fraud, sabotage and mudslinging amongst the supposed leadership, it is obvious that Ipob is just another ponzi scheme using Biafra restoration as a selling point.

I can bet anything that this us FAKE news. IPOB has no basis to sue an academician for publicly expressing his opinions based on facts he provided.
First of all, as we can see from their recent mudslinging, IPOB has no money to pay a US lawyer for frivolous lawsuit, one that could drag on for a long time.
Secondly, if the writer is indeed sued for expressing his opinion, then his only DEFENSE would be to show that IPOB is indeed a terrorist organisation. That would be very very easy to prove. All he has to do is go to the archives of Radio Biafra broadcasts get all the video and audio right from the mouths of IPOB leaders themselves.
The lawsuit would publicly and officially expose so much about IPOB, the corruption of their leadership and conspiracies to commit acts of terrorism.
Therefore, if truly IPOB is sueing Sheehan( which I doubt) , then it's just another own goal that the dimwits of IPOB are about to score.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says its American lawyer, Dr. Bruce Fein has filed a lawsuit against his compatriot, American scholar, Dr Ivan Sascha Sheehan following his call on the United States of American government to designate the group as a terrorist organisation.



Sheehan, who is the executive director of the school of public and international affairs at the University of Baltimore, in an opinion article published in The Washington Times on October 4, gave reasons why IPOB should be designated as a terrorist group by the United States.



The American don said, “Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB’s leader, is clearly unconcerned. That he feels no need to even disguise his support of terrorism is worrisome.

“Though IPOB’s principal aim is to restore a breakaway state of Biafra in the southeastern parts of Nigeria, Mr. Kanu’s rhetoric has become increasingly strident, ‘I don’t want peaceful actualization (of Biafra).’

“Mr. Kanu has said through his Radio Biafra channel, used to project threats, instructions, and propaganda into Nigeria from the safety of London, ‘If they don’t (give us Biafra), they will die.’


“Neither does Mr. Kanu make idle threats. The December revelation of IPOB’s 50,000 strong-armed paramilitary wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), complete with a Swastika-style flag, marked the end to all pretenses of being a peaceful movement.

“What had been largely unspoken was publicly declared. Since then, violent IPOB attacks on both security personnel and civilians have surged by a terrifying 59%; deaths by 344%.”


He also said tagging the secessionist group with a terror label would “hit IPOB’s wallet hard”, adding that if done, no organisation that uses the US currency would be able to conduct legal transactions with IPOB.

“As soon as the designation is applied, no organization that utilizes US currency would be able to legally conduct transactions with the organization. By cutting off IPOB’s funding, the U.S. would weaken the 50,000 strong paramilitary outfit, and provide Nigeria’s security forces room to train their sights squarely on ISIS-affiliated Boko Haram in the Northeast of the country.

“A terror designation would put a stop to this influence peddling. It would also mean the group could not use the US or its Western allies, like London-based Radio Biafra, to further their cause.

However, IPOB, through a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, which was obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday reacted that Sheehan was paid to write against the Nnamdi Kanu-led group.

It revealed that the American constitutional lawyer, Fein will also address the world on Wednesday on the matter.

It titled the statement ‘Kanu's Lawyer To Address A World Press Conference On Wednesday The 20th Of October 2021 – IPOB.’

The statement read, “The global movement and family of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU, wishes to announce to the general public that our legal luminaries in the US, led by Dr. Bruce Fein, IPOB attorney in USA has taken the corrupt and compromised professor of Baltimore University, Dr. Ivan Sascha Sheehan in USA to court for writing falsehood and junk against the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

“The compromised Dr. Ivan was paid to write a false and malicious article against IPOB and its leader which was published by Washington Times invariably asking the US State Department to designate a peaceful Self Determination movement like IPOB as a terrorist organisation. The law of America will catch up with him for telling lies against a peaceful movement.

“Our legal team in America led by Bruce Fein has instituted a case against him in a competent US court. This paid agent will testify before the court why he accused IPOB wrongly and who paid him to do the hatchet job.

“We also wish to announce that the IPOB group of lawyers in the zoo led by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, will address a world press conference in Abuja tomorrow, Wednesday, 20th October, 2021 between 10am and 11am in the morning. We, therefore, urge members of the public to watch out for the press conference where some burning issues surrounding our Leader's court appearance and the struggle generally will be addressed.”
