Youths easily get swayed by sentiments and semantics. How does using a home made product make a person exemplary.

If you do your findings on this same Soludo, you'd find out he has stashed enough for ten generations in his dealings with politicians as a technocrat, so doing this is just playing to the gallery which is as usual to fool the naïve and simple.

It is fantastic to promote home made product, but it stops at that and doesn't qualify anyone as exemplary.
Spoken like a true Nigerian.
I think some, if not the majority of Nigerians, are allergic to good leadership. This explains why we are perennially chained to feudal parasites like Buhari and Tinubu.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, a single gesture. A single gesture of spending government money on a local product keeps the money circulating with the economy, provides liquidity and creates employment along each chain in the ecosystem.
Now , imagine if other governors accept that challenge to patronize only local products, imagine the chain-reactional effect on all sectors of the local and national economy. That's how employment is created and economies grow.

Yes indeed.

I'm not a fan of Putin, but all I need is a little bit historical perspective to understand him and his actions.

Being critical of the West ( The Anglo-American sphere of influence) doesn't not mean that one is anti-west or anti- democracy or anti-freedom. I think , as Africans, we don't need to look far back in history to see who are the good guys and who the bad guys in any conflict.
The Anglo-Sphere has the right to feel anyway they like about Russia and Ukraine, what particularly irks me is the deliberate emotional manipulation they foster on the world through their media.

Previously, they manipulated much of the entire world to accept that Saddam Hussain was an imminent threat to the world.
For the West so loved the people of Iraq, that they had to destroy the country , cause the deaths of 1.2m Iraqis to prove that love. They did the same with Gaddafi of Libya .
For the West so loved the people of Libya, that they had to destroy the country and render it a failed state to show that love.
Assad of Syria, again, the West so loved the people of Syria that they had to fund terrorists to fight and destroy that country just to show their steadfast love for the citizens of Syria.
Now, the new demon in town is Putin. The west always needs a boogeyman to hate and demonize .
But what happened to all those previous loves for the people of Iraq, Libya and Syria ?
Ukraine is the new darling for which we are emotionally manipulated to follow and express our undying love and allegiance.

Africans, of all people, should be able to have a better historical perspective on current events.

There is civil war going on in the north but nobody cares Because we don't like each other in this country and hausa are the least loved because some fellow Nigerians don't even consider them human enough, is this not worse than ukraine? we shouldn't even be one in the first place.
It is worse than Ukraine.
What these people suffer is unimaginable.
That's why I get so mad when some hypocrites come here to emotionally blackmail us to feel for the suffering of the Ukraine people.
We've so xxxed up that it has become easier to feel pity for strangers in a faraway land than it is to feel the pain and suffering for our people just next door.

The blame still goes to the Rapacious Northern Political elites. They are so obsessed with feudal political power that they care so little for the emancipation of the people from extreme poverty.
The power that crave so much has been nothing but a curse for their own people.

What happened to Jonathan in 2015 was what we call information and hybrid warfare.

It's usually used by superpowers to destabilize weaker nations for their own interests.

APC used it to devastating effect.

And then when you consider an American political machinery like axelrod was behind the scenes, it is not a wonder at how sophisticated they were.
Thank you Jare.
It was well orchestrated information warfare that brought Buhari to power. For that you have to give credit to Tinubu. GEJ was completely outgunned in the propaganda war.
That is what brought us this calamity.

When you complain, they call you a wailer, an unpatriotic citizen suffering from inferiority complex especially if you try to compare us with white countries.

When you mention that maybe we get Harvard and MIT grads or the best of the best here, to be leaders, they say they rather local, tested and trusted corrupt politicians. Their trust is directly proportional to the scale of corruption, the more corrupt you are, the more you are trusted.

When you say, okay let’s divide the country or at least have regions sort themselves out, they tell you that this British creation, one not of their own ancestral doing, can never be undone. Never ever ever!

Who are they? Your fellow Nigerians.

Can I even blame them? It’s like the chicken and the egg question, which came first? If the egg came first, then what laid it? If the chicken came first, then how did it come to be?

Leaders or more accurately, rulers here in Naija bastardize the country and leave citizens uneducated, citizens in turn support the corrupt leaders to further impoverish them. Who is to be blamed? The citizens or the rulers?

Anyways, may God be with you bro and help you to rise above the many challenges! It is about time I return to the deep, sigh.
Well said. The situation is pitiable that I ask myself a thousand times everyday how people live in this country 365 days every year ?
I have soo much pity for the average Nigerian.
But when we serious issues concerning governance, restructuring and devolution of power at the center, everyone begins to wax tribalistic.
Nigeria, in its current structure, can never ever produce sustainable economic and social development, no matter if we get an honest and committed leadership in 2023.
Only a holistic and thorough restructuring of the institutions of governance can offer hope for future progress.
Almost everyone acknowledges this fact, even those thar oppose for their temporary comforts.
The way Nigerians easily divide among themselves into ethno- religious combat units when issues of grace national importance are discussed means that we are not fully ready to confront our problems, let alone making sincere attempts to solve them.

China is waxing strong economically, technologically and Militarily. China is gradually overtaking the US economy in size and technologically output. India is waxing strong economically, technologically and Militarily. The Asian Tigers, the Middle Eastern countries, Brazil and other South American countries, South Africa and the rest of Africa are emerging trading blocks that can easily be accessed and tapped by Russia for trade and technology exchange.
Russia and China had already developed their own international finance system to bypass the SWIFT system controlled by US. They have long abandoned the USD as medium of bilateral trade between the 2 nations.

I am not sure from what I read there that the writer reserved blame for women.
Yes, he certainly did.
He blamed the women for being baby mamas, and blamed that particular lady for bringing her child to work in a bad environment. He never for once mentioned anything about fatherhood, men , the sperm donors and the whereabouts of the man while the lady was bringing her child to work.
Women face a much greater burden in this dysfunctional system. They are the victims , not the causes of societal failures.

So I went to a bar to relax after church and from the crazy NIgerian heat of today.
...........

One of the bartender, cheerful, pretty and shinny ebony tone; tall, straight shape with very sexy size shape of an ass came with her baby girl. This little girl is about 7 years from my estimation...but frolicking about and taking in the bad expoure of such ambience.

The problem I could quickly deduce is that this bar is a very notorious one, infamous for immoral kind of gals and guys who many times have no inhibitions about public display of affection...smoking , kisses and all sort. It houses a bar too , where hornny sexual duos come to relieve their inordinate appetite.

I began to wonder the much influence such place could have on that innocent 7 year old kid. Look at the risk, look at the future and psychological implications, and in all of these this baby mama probably do not care or is blinded by the poverty that brought her there in the first place.

My advice is this: Young gals should try to empower themselves first, above personal pleasure, instead of having the dream of being a baby mama.
Many a times, the kids are the unfortunate and innocent recipient of such ills.

Really sad. I can only imagine what will become of those kind of children..Hmmmmm
Babymamaism is more problem for the future.
Such lopsided nonsense.

Always blame the women for everything wrong in the society.
You forgot to advise the men to keep their Sausages in their pants, and use condoms when they cannot control their appetites, so as not to leave girls with babies without fathers.
If the men were more responsible, there would not be baby mama's struggling to eke out a living while taking care of children all by themselves.
The men , absent fathers are the ones who should be ashamed of themselves.

Do you know so many people have died in Ukraine but the west is so evil they won't admit it because they Hate Russia...

The objective of this operation was never about Kiev. The pressure on Kiev is to force a political concession from the Ukrainian government with regards to Crimea and the Donbass.

The real objectives in no particular order seem to be

1. Liberation of the Donbass up their original borders
2. Demilitarization and Degrading of Ukraine's military capabilities.
3. Relieving the Siege of Crimea - through unblocking of the canals and linking it to the Dnieper river. That's why they took Kherson city.
4. Creating a land bridge from Crimea through Donbass all the way to Rostov in Russia. This is why conquering Mariupol is key.
5. Extending the land bridge westwards from Crimea to Odessa by conquering Mykolaiv, which was a major shipyard in Soviet times. Doing this will effectively deprive Ukraine from access to the sea and make it a landlocked country.
6. Destroy the Azov Battalion in Donbass. They are all now in Mariupol. Those in Volnovakha have been killed or surrendered.
7. Capture all Nuclear powerplants in Ukraine - to prevent Ukraine from having access to materials to create weapons.

All of the above objectives are largely being achieved albeit slowly due to resistance.

The attacks on Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and other cities in the North are to tie down Ukrainian forces and prevent them from coming to the South.

Young Africans who have failed to learn African history will never know that Russia’s Putin, here pictured alongside Zimbabwe and Mozambique’s freedom fighters Emmerson Mnangagwa and Samora Machel respectively, was giving African rebel leaders liberation strategies against their colonial aggressors.

Putin was on the ground in Africa for four good years, helping our fathers fight against colonialism and external aggressions from the Western power you now passionately love.

Today, your CNN is brainwashing you to describe your liberators as dictators. You do not know that you are now a free African, thanks to Putin, Castro, and a few others
Thank you so much.

In this age of information, people are still so ignorant and even unable to put 2 and 2 together.
Those that think that Putin just woke up one day and decided to be an international mad man are themselves probably mad.

Russia has a long history of being invaded by enemies. Therefore, Russians are naturally paranoid about being encircled by the military adversary, NATO. And they should be. Any nation would equally be paranoid. This issue has been simmering for a long time. When the West orchestrated the overthrow of the former Ukraine president and ally of Russia, the stage was already being set for this current showdown with Russia.
It is in the interest of the west to prolong this conflict by using and promoting their lackey, Zelensky , as a hero.

Like you rightly pointed , Russia will strategically get everything it wants in Ukraine.

With the international focus on the conflict, I do think that Russia is actually handling it with a soft hand, obviously to minimize civilian casualties.
Compare that to the invasion of Iraq, where the entire infrastructure of the country was reduced to rubbles in just a few days, and civilian casualties were referred to as collateral damages.

PoliticsRe: Jewish Rabbinical Court Rules Igbos Are Israelites by plaetton:
EmmaJnr1:
ON the 14th day of January 2022 [12 Shebat 5782], the Jewish Rabbinate of the Obadayah Alliance [Dayan Jacob de Oliveira, Dayan Eliezer Tabor, Dayan Yehonatan Elazar-DeMota, Rabbi Hananiah Cohen, and Rabbi Haim Ovadia] ruled that the Igbos of Nigeria are descendants of ancient Israelites.
According to the Rabbinate, “the presence of Israelites along the Niger River had been known by Jewish authorities in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Suriname.

Rabbinic letters addressed to the Igbos by Chief rabbis: Dr. Solomon Hershel Lewin, David Meldola, and the Gaon of Vilna (Elijan Zalman), support the idea that there was contact between European Jewish communities and Igbo Israelites. All of the correspondence from the aforementioned rabbinic authorities address the Igbos as “brethren of the Children of Israel.” Accordingly, there is no doubt of their origins, nor of their halakhic status as Israelites.”

According to the Rabbinate, while there is yet an exhaustive academic genetic study of the Igbos, the data of the majority of those who have reported their autosomal and y-chromosome DNA, supports that their ancestors migrated from the Levant Basin, sharing genetic links with Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews alike.

The Rabbinate noted the fact that rabbinic authorities during the Songhai Empires were aware of Israelites in Igboland, which leads to the logical conclusion that they treated Igbos as Israelites. The final conclusion of the Obadya Alliance Rabbinate was that “Igbos are to be treated as Israelites, in every sense of the word, and also their priestly and Levite lineages should be upheld as valid.”
The Rabbinate advised that upon the return of the Igbos to Omenana (what you do in the Land), they should be circumcised [if they hadn’t performed it already], say the sheheḥeyánu afterward, and partake in the kola nut ceremony with their brethren, as is customary among Igbos.

This ruling may also trigger more scholars to do more research about Igbos, what they offered the world in the past, what they are offering the world now, and what they would offer the world in the future.

As democracy is under assault, the Igbos are democratic to the core and stand out as the most culturally democratic ethnic entity globally. The world may have a look at the Igbo traditional system of government, which has survived despite many years of British rule and Nigeria’s deliberate marginalization.
It is interesting that the Obadya Rabbinate addressed Igbos as Israelites, not as Jews. They also affirmed Omenana (what you do in the Land) as the authentic original religion of the children of Israel.

http://hint-magazine.com/jewish-rabbinical-court-rules-igbos-are-israelites/?fbclid=IwAR0JZu2OsIQgmV_PA_zAR6DVUoeErC_dweKH0rDHd6TO2ScMOT3Ge81UeIE

My simple response to moro.ns that promote or believe this trash is that is if Igbos are genetically related to Jews, then the Igbos should also be genetically related to Arabs. Jews and Arabs are of the Semitic race. Therefore, an ancestral link to one is an ancestral link to the other.
So, hurrah!!
Igbos are Arabs.

He did no such thing. All OBJ, GEJ and Buhari have done, from 1999 to date, amount totokenism as their policies and actions do not deliberately seek to change the fundamentals of Nigerian governance so that real power to transform our nation is moved away from the FG and vested in the real change agents.

The real change agents being States, regions and and human resouces i.e the Nigerian people.

It will take a sacrificially benevolent, very visionary and selfless President to deliberately weaken his own power and that of the federal Government of Nigeria to the benefit of our nation.

This is something that must be done that previous Presidents have rejected.

What OBJ, GEJ and Buhari have all done is giving a man fish, to some degree, rather than teaching him to fish because they don't have the vision or will to do what is required.

Nigeria will never work until some very fundamental changes are institutionalized and made a part of our nationhood.

Different Presidents can tinker around, while avoiding what must be done, but they will always be adjudged failures overall despite some good deeds.
I agree with almost everything you have written, except for the fact that you have refused to give OBJ and GEJ due credits for their patriotic and honesty commitment to good governance. Of course they could have done much better, but with standards of leadership we seen in this country, the OBJ and GEJ eras stand out for their sincere commitments to re-priortize developmental issues ahead of politics . And yes, we did see demonstrable improvements in economic growth and middle class expansion.
