DAILY POST reports that the social media was recently flooded with some clips of Mummy G.O’s preaching where she tagged relatively everything including football and comedy as sin, saying those involved will go to hellfire.
Mummy G.O in one of the clips, also claimed that she has been a virgin all her life, despite having had premarital sexual relationship and after giving birth to children.
Reacting to the memes, the socio-political activist in a post on his official Facebook page, lamented how Africans are easily manipulated through the gospel.
He likened the trend to how Africans were forced to abandon their religion to accept an imported way of life during the colonial era.
He said, “One thing the current Mummy GO phenomenon has laid bare is how easy it is to manipulate the psyche of our people.
"And it was even a factor in colonialism. European traders beguiled our ancestors with mirrors and other knickknacks that they had previously never seen. Then they sent in missionaries to Europeanise us in the guise of Christianising us.
“At first they were holding their own version of Scripture, which they called The Bible, while our ancestors held on to their ancestral lands. It was not too long before our ancestors were the ones holding the European Bible (not Scripture) and the colonialists were holding their ancestral lands.

I wonder if Reno recognizes the inherent contradictions of condemning Africans for having been beguiled into ditching our traditional religions and accepting Christianity, while he himself proudly proclaims to believe in Christ as the only way to God ( the same Christian God brought to us by the Europeans). This kind of self contradiction, even by a smart fella like Reno, re-enforces my conviction that religious beliefs and faith , including that of Reno, is more like human psychological need , and as such, falls outside the boundaries of rational common sense. In both mummy GO's rantings and Pastor Reno Omokri's failed attempt to offer an intellectual perspective, I see basically the same mindset and the same mental impulses at work. Faith always tries very very hard to justify itself, to convince itself that it is derived from common sense and rationality. Reno cleverly tries to justify his own faith by claiming the superiority of his own Christianity over the Christianity of the European colonialist. Nothing could be more hilarious and contradictory.
More importantly, comparing and contrasting Mummy GO's God and Reno Omokri's God leads me, once again, to the simple conclusion that God is created in the human mind.

The authors of your scriptures, just like the authors of all ancient scriptures wrote them with their own limited understanding of the universe and how it works. They wrote with their own worldviews, superstitions and prejudices for their very narrow audience ( people who shared the same superstitions and myths). Their own truths, based on their own limited knowledge and understanding. Then, the translators came with own worldviews, prejudices and Ecclesiastical and political Agenda. Then the editors and redactors later came, pretending to be correctors, to add, subtract, substitute, obscure and obfuscate certain parts of scriptures thar were either embarrassing, contradictory or simply unpopular in their own eras. As long as the sheeple continue to believe that scriptures are of divine provenance, the smart guys will continue to edit, re-translate and re-transliterate to fit their goals.

What do you mean by " can't be true ?
My father is one of the developers who have been fighting for compensation from LASG for the last 40yrs. So we are fully abreast of the situation.

During all this meantime, the had LASG sold off the same plots of land and houses in Shangisha to new Set of developers, who I assume, through political and ethnic connections. Finally, 2 years ago, the highest court in the land ruled once agian in favor of the developers. Having no more appeals to file, the LASG Finally agreed to a settlement. Rather than financial compensation, they offered the developers plots of land somewhere in Badagry that were less than 1% I'm value to what they had lost in the hands of the same LASG.
Obviously, the developers declined the bad faith offer by the LASG and have been lobbying for a fairer deal.
The current agitation to reclaim their lost assets is basically aimed at embarrassing and strong-arming the LASG to give them fair compensation for stealing their lands and properties 40yrs ago.
In any decent country, these victims should have been adequately compensated long ago.

It's about that time of the year again, when the churches across the nation usually record their highest attendance numbers of the year, during their cross over services.
The reason for the record attendance figures attained during these services, is mostly because many who rarely or never attend church services during the year, for some reason are also found inside church buildings on this particular night during the cross over services.
It appears they do so because they feel spending the last night or cross over service of the year was very important and makes a significant difference in their lives, regardless of how they spent the remaining part of the year after cross over service, even if they don't change their ways, or do any thing differently from how they used to do them.
However the truth is that just spending the last night or cross over service of any year in any church building would make no real difference in someone's life, except it is able to cause the person to change his ways and how he does things.
Moreover, if Christ were to come on the last night of the year, most of those inside the church buildings during the cross over service would still be left behind, so what's the point of just attending these last church services of the year, if one doesn't repent or turn away from his or her wicked ways?
What difference does it really make?
A superstitious people in a superstitious society will grovel at any superstitious belief, no matter how illogical and irrational. Once you're beholden to magical thinking, you would jump at anything that offers you magic.

On any flight in or out of any international Airport in Nigeria, Nigerian passengers outnumber foreign passengers by a ratio of 9 to 1. Therefore, any punitive sections against international airline travel in Nigeria would negatively affect Nigerians 9 to 1 against foreign travelers. But, I couldn't possibly expect our cow-brain decision makers to be able to do that simple math.
