When you ask pertinent question on evolution, they shift the burden of proof to you or call the question useless; but they demand you to proof the existence of God, even when it is evident in nature. Why do animals evolve in pairs ( male and female)? I honestly would have expected the predators to outwit the first man to evolve in the survival game!
Let's be honest, most people on this religious section who question evolution are being who didn't or who barely finished biology in secondary school.
Besides, even Nigerian teachers and lecturers frown at the theory of evolution. So I don't blame most Nigerians. It's the poor quality of the system.

Sure, you have the right to ask questions. But the answers are already in the public domains.
The religious section is surely not the best place to learn everything about evolution and the theory of evolution.

Now, I said that if you are sincere, not just arguing for religious sake, grab a book on evolution and try to understand.

This educated guy ,working hard to reinforce the African aversion to scientific curiosity is nauseating, to say the least.

Has evolution been simulated in the lab before? Or they just described how one animal developed from one form to the other.
What's the proof that those events happened in the sequence assumed by science.

Your last statement suggest that you alluded to the fact that science sometimes proceed from assumptions.
My friend.
If you have a genuine thirst to understand and critique the theory of evolution, then I suggest you actually go out and read and learn more about it. I guarantee that you will have much better and more sensible questions to ask.

Well face the facts. Address the post, instead of your lame "why doesn't it say it in the bible" type of excuses.

Or maybe you don't actually understand the post, and you are just a cheerleader for scientists.
The facts are rather simple. If you , as a rational whatever you call yourself, is convinced that the highs bosson is a hoax perpetrated by the assembly of world renowned physicists, then do the world a favor by exposing them WITH YOUR OWN EXPERIMENTS or at the least, a theory or model.

The religious section is already full of science deniers. We don't need a smart fella like you to add to what is already a big mess.

In cosmology/astronomy, some of the ideas are just assumptions; some of the ideas are even conflicting ideas. Should we therefore dismiss them without further discussion? Evolution too is based on assumption. Should we therefore dismiss it too since we can't proof it? Furthermore evolution cannot even explain, the existence of animals in pairs (male and female) even by assumption.
No .
Evolution involves a countless series of events and subevents that has taken billions of years to occur.
You cannot talk about the entire generality of evolution without make certain assumptions,( based on current knowledge), about the billions and billions of countless interactions and processes involved.
Science and scientific knowledge also evolves.

The important thing is that many of those assumptions have been substantiated by modern empirical research. None whatsoever, have been scientifically refuted in 150 yrs of vigorous scientific research.

I am not going to write an essay for you on the Higgs Boson.

SCIENTIFIC LIES, LIES, LIES...

The important point is that leading scientists said that they had found the Higgs Boson. François Englert and Peter W. Higgs were awarded the Nobel Prize for it. Stephen Hawking claimed to have lost his bet that the Higgs Boson did not exist.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higgs_boson

In the Standard Model, the Higgs particle is a boson with no spin, electric charge, or colour charge. It is also very unstable, decaying into other particles almost immediately. It is a quantum excitation of one of the four components of the Higgs field. The latter constitutes a scalar field..

Let us examine the status quo of the "confirmation":

Spin: Spin-0 tentatively confirmed.

Parity: Even parity tentatively confirmed.

Decay: observed; but not "yet" confirmed.

Couplings to mass: "strongly evidenced" ("At 95% confidence level cV is within 15% of the standard model value cV=1"wink.

Higher energy results remain "consistent".

So, when we look at the small print for the "confirmation" of the "Higgs Boson", we see wishy-washy double speak. Confirmation in particle physics is supposed to have a very precise definition -- statistical confidence to a level of what is known as 5 sigma, or above. Instead, we have evasive claims of "tentative confirmation", and "strongly evidence", "not yet confirmed", which are just euphemisms for unconfirmed. It's a bit like saying that a woman is "a bit pregnant".

3 years after announcing the confirmation, it is NOT confirmed.

At the time, they knew something was wrong.

If it is lighter than expected, then it is NOT behaving like the Higgs Boson. See how they twist things?

And this discrepancy is not listed explicitly in the Wikipedia article. It is probably hidden in the statement -- "strongly evidenced" ("At 95% confidence level cV is within 15% of the standard model value cV=1"wink.

This is way below the 99.9999% required. So the term "strongly evidenced" is quite deceitful.

Whatever they have found, if anything at all, they are going to call it the Higgs Boson, and twist the Standard Model and claim that it predicts the Higgs Boson after the fact.
Yeah sure.

Physicists from all over the world are involved in a grand conspiracy to fool sinequanon.

And you are the only one that saw through their deception.
I wonder why I haven't read your refutations on a scientific journal. kiss

Laughing out loud. grin

The Flying Spaghetti Monster( FSM) is the sole creator and sustainer of the universe.

Is that the absolute Truth or not ?
Pls tell us why not.

Mathematics , the relationships between everything in the universe, provided us with truth. That's why scientific rationalism is itself anchored on mathematics and mathematical relationships.

You see , my Friend, you are contradicting yourself here without even being aware that you are.

In one mouth you say that truth is truth, irrespective of beliefs and acceptance. And then in another mouth, you're pushing and promoting your personal beliefs, personal faith, as the Truth, without any mathematical proofs of god and his mathematical relationships with the universe.

Abrahamism is not the totality what religion is, it's just a fraction of it.
Yes.
But more out of confusion that conviction.

People who mistake atheism for another religion or philosophy that guarantees them answers or something else, would surely be disappointed, because it promises and promotes no such thing.

Atheism is not a quick escape. It is usually a gradual realization and eventual ACCEPTANCE.

Truth is not an emotion please. The earth is geoid approximately oblate spheroidal in shape. There is no gamut of human emotions to this.
Well, it's not fault if you don't what is happening in the areas of scientific innovations.

When you speak what you believe To be truth, your body releases chemicals that affect your heart rate, blood pressure, pupil dilation, even minute finger movements that can all be detected.

I can lie when you're questioning me. Thus, truth will not be achieved.

How can you conduct a scientific experiment on me to determine if there is jealousy in me?
A simple psychological questionnaire can pinpoint your character traits , your emotional state of mind with mathematical accuracy, even you are trying to be deceptive.

They have developed cameras that can record your eye movements during questioning to measure truth and deception.
The truth , which I have always stated on threads like this, is that the whole gamut of human emotions have biochemical origins , biochemical reactions that involve molecular bondings. As such , they are all reducible to mathematics. Yes, your emotions have mathematical corollaries.
As such, they can be modelled, predicted, and altered with the right mathematically arranged chemicals.

The most annoying aspect is that , true to his character, Buhari has never taken responsibility for criminally overthrowing a Democratically elected government back in 1983, an action that single handedly led Nigeria on a trajectory of destruction and economic desolation up till 1999.
No one has held Buhari responsible for being the catalyst, the provocateur for most of Nigeria's problems over the past 33 yrs.

It completely nauseates me, and it should rightly nauseate all Nigerians when we hear Buhari blaming past leaders, excluding himself, for Nigeria's many ills.

Buhari is on point.

I actually i find it unrealistic when people say the govt should stop blaming the past.
We are suffering today, because the past never prepared for the future (today).

And also we are very unrealistic in our expectation that things can turn around suddenly.
it will takes us about ten years to diversify the economy. Diversification is not a switch you can just turn on or off.
it is a long painful process. We must understand this and work towards it.

All we talk about is dollar vs naira rate because we are still focussing on consuming imported tins.

We must look inward in our consumption pattern.

Blaming the past for the current economy woes does not in any way affect the performance of the govt. They can blame past govt while they work. it does not slow down progress in anyway. Actually it helps p
Bullshyte.

Blaming others instead squarely tackling the challenges is sure sign of personality disorder. When We see that tendency in little children, we are quick to scold , and in most cases, spank them out of such horrible habits.

Blaming is in Buhari's character. He doesn't take responsibilities no matter what. It's a childish, cowardly way of evading taking responsibility.

Buhari, through his actions, most times very ignorantly, have created total CHAOS in the economy over past year and half.
The economy does not operate in a command and control fashion. The modern economy is very dynamic, interlinked and very sensitive to body language, government body language.

Through the reckless pronouncements, policy schizophrenia, flip flops, and outright hostility against the FREE FLOW OF CAPITAL, Buhari has succeeded in nuking the entire system.
It is the fallouts that we are currently experiencing.

Take for example, just this morning , I read in the papers about the CBN enacting more stringent measures about the use of domiciliary accounts.
Why should it be CBN's fxxing business about how and what people do with their own money, their own CAPITAL? huh
You scare people, scare investors, cause confusion and STRANGLE the economy when you interfere with the market-driven, unfettered free flow of CAPITAL.

There is no Up and Down in space.
Up and down is function of gravity.

There is no gravitational pull in the vacuum of space.
Only celestial bodies exert gravitational pulls that give the appearance of ups and downs.
I have to correct this a bit.
The Earth is actually falling, but falling through the gravitational pull of the Sun( the heavenly Father) in a circular trajectory.
As you read this the Earth is falling through space at the speed of 108,000 km/ hr .
Just imagine that.

The Sun also is carrying the Earth and the rest of her celestial siblings along on circular orbit around the center of our milky way Galaxy system. A journey that takes 250 million years to complete, .. that's 250 million years before God was even conceived. grin
