Crime / Re: Coffins Bearing The Dead Bodies Of Indonesian Drug Convicts Get Buried (photos) by plendil: 1:22pm On Apr 29, 2015
We can castigate Indonesia all we want, but the fact remains that they made their point in very clear unambiguous terms: Don't do the crime if find the consequences unpalatable. Its that simple.

SergeAlain:
The truth is that most of the commenters on this thread did not bother to read beyond the headlines.

A man who signed off projects worth billions for 6 years is being paid off with N10m and people are screaming. What do you think is GMB's current pension annually?

How will corruption ever stop if a man leaves his carreer where he would have been well paid and serves his Country for 6 years and cannot even take away half of what a Bank GM would get as severance?

Please before you respond to this go back and read the thread thoroughly!!

I'm honestly struggling to get the merits of your argument. He "signed off projects worth billions" and so should be entitled to a percentage of the worth of those projects? Pray what is really the difficulty in "signing off projects?". Is it not his duty in the first place? Did he choose the job of his volition or was he forced there?

You miss the point that political office is not, or should be, a career. They are there primarily to serve, NOT to earn a living. Hence the whole idea of severance for a political office holder, in a cash strapped country like ours, is absolutely preposterous.

My budget is about 20-25k.

Pls let me have your recommendations. Thanks in advence.

That's Ucha's men...APC guber candidate angry angry

Come on, thats not true and you know it. What grouse does Apc have with PDP in Ebonyi State? The attack was most likely the handwork of footsoldiers loyal to LP. In fact one of their prominent members--don't want to mention name--is known to be very ruthless and is believed to do the dirty work for Elechi. I won't put it pass him.

Ebonyi people are naturally evil with or without elections;that much I know about them during my service year.

Stop being silly. I'm not from the state but have lived here long enough to now Ebonyains are actually one of the most peaceful and accommodating tribes. The current crises is simply due the power tussle between the political heavyweights in the state.

Umahi may likely win; not because of his popularity (which I admit is considerable), but because of his strong backers (Anyim and co). IT will be a mistake to underestimate the popularity of the Edon group which is backed by Elechi. Those in abakaliki may have witnessed how Elechi's supporters virtually shut down the capital early last month in protest over his impeachment threat.

My main concern has been the fear of violence which is very real. Only last two weeks I personally witnessed victims of violence being brought to a mission hospital at Iziogo, which is one of the flash points. E be like I go run comot oooo. . . embarassed

Had it been GEJ won, can PDP supporters jubilate in their campaign office in Bauchi? Food for Thought. lipsrsealed

Where the food na? tongue tongue

But yes, I will concede that had the election gone to PDP, such celebration would be unthinkable in an APC stronghold.

One must truly appreciate and congratulate the maturity and tolerance displayed by the Enugu folks. I actually passed the office some hours ago and can testify to the calmness.

I do believe GEJ set the tone through his unprecedented and highly commendable move of congratulating GMB on his victory. Lets hope our democracy continues to mature in this fashion.

LONG LIVE GEJ!!
LONG LIVE GMB
LONG LIVE NIGERIA!!!!

@JAkumo and Texaco, clearly beneficiaries of the GEJ's largesse to the creeks are becoming panicky; hence the infantile, weed-induced, achingly empty threats. Yeye dey smell.

Well, a little encouragement: GMB, when sworn in as pres-elect, has not indicated any intention to discontinue the amnesty to your guys. So cool the f*** down!! grin
