Abroad, these are pretty serious crimes and she would be very lucky to get away without jailtime. Other than the moral issue involved, and perhaps the assuat on her, the man doesn't have any case here. Both adults consented to the bleep |
Politics / Re: What Exactly Is The Role Of National Assembly In Nigeria by plendil: 2:33pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
They are supposed to be the backbone of any liberal democratic setting, which Nigeria, for all intents belongs to. Essentially to check the powers of executive. However the case in Nigeria leaves a lot to be desired. Urgent reforms are needed, IMO: House of reps is actually more representative since it is related directly to the majority whose interests the representative are to protect. Indeed over the years they have proven to be a far more formidable force in the legislature. However, I think the number should be pruned. Wards merged so the total reps should not exceed 100. Senate: Total unjustifiable waste, IMO. We don't need more than a single representative per state, plus FCT (totalling 37 as against 107). The whole idea of North, Central , South for each state, even for populations the size of a nursery school is untenable and silly. Lastly, ofcourse is the highly contentious issue of their immoral, stupendous remuneration. IT has to be aggressively looked into and chnged. |

AS usual twerps are trying to turn it into a political issue. Please and pls, this is beyind poilitcs. All of them (APC, PDP,LP, APGA are guilty). Whether it was approved by the previous administration is not the point. THE POINT IS THAT THIS MUST STOP!!!!! |

Chubhie: Hope you appreciate this is a democratic setting, and there are limits to presidential power. These are provisions that have been budgeted for and approved. Any attempt by Buhari to withhold payment could be seen by the legislators as an impediment to their duties and is in fact an impeachable offence. You may recall a similar situation in the time of OBJ. The best remedy IMO, is for all Nigerians to mount a vigorous campaign, media, internet etc, highlighting the immoral, unspeakable callousness of it. |

plendil: There you have it. MR BARCANISTA You couldn't come up any quotes against GEJ, could you? Yes! Because none existed, or were very minimal. As one of those who stood solidly behind him against the northern cabal following the death of YAr'daua, and then voted for him 2011, I'm more than conversant with the kind of unprecedented support GEJ enjoyed at that time. The criticisms only came when he showed clear signs of failure almost 4 years into his presidency. Can you see how imbecilic it was to draw parallels between PMB's case (3 weeks into power) and that of GEJ?? Postscript: It may be difficult, but try not to let the bitterness of the loss of your principal's re-election push you towards blind, uncharitable, destructive and totally unwarranted attacks against PMB. Its unhealthy. Do the words "making Nigeria ungovernable" ring a bell? You and you minions are dangerously headed that direction. Its time to backtrack. Cheers 3 Likes |

cocokiller1: Of course. If he doesn't perform (though I confident he will) then he should be prepared to face the music, be it insults or otherwise. It's however far too early in his administration to gauge his performance, that my main point. Let us join him make this country great once again. God Bless. |
Politics / Re: The Emptiness Of Their Justification For The Name-calling Against PMB by plendil: 11:47am On Jun 14, 2015 |
midolian: Thank you sir. I personally don't subscribe the view of the office of the president being above criticisms/insults. Yes, they may become a little acerbic at times, but I believe it comes with the office - any aspiring leader should be prepared to face. I fully supported GEJ right from 2010 and voted him 2011. But when he started fumbling, my support (and language) towards him changed. Buhari is barely a month in office. Lets give him some time. If by this time next year or even six months down the line, there are no obvious improvements, then the floodgates can open. 1 Like 1 Share |

cocokiller1: @bolded, good question. My take is when a perpetually impoverished people see no obvious respite, they have no other way venting their frustration. Of course the advent of the social media made it seem like a personal thing against GEJ, which I don't believe is true. The tirade of insults began around 2012 upwards when evidence of his poor performance began to manifest. The fact is the practise of insulting the leadership started as far back as I can remember, it certainly didn't start with GEJ. |

omenka: If you notice, I'm not very active in this section, so wouldn't care any less for the insults of those tomato-brained dimwits. I was just struck by the blinding hypocrisy by those attempting to draw parallels with GEJ's travails. How on earth anyone can attempt to compare almost 6 years of rudderless leadership with just about 3 weeks into PMB's tenure is beyond me. |

Politics / The Emptiness Of Their Justification For The Name-calling Against PMB by plendil: 7:30am On Jun 14, 2015 |
“Its payback time” said one of them. “Now he will know how it feels like when they were calling GEJ names”, said another. Their chief protagonist even opened a thread trying – hopelessly – to explain away the actions if his minions by highlighting quotes purported made by the opposition against his principal. Which brings me to the question: Is this what the heat against PMB is all about? Payback?? IS that it?? Is that the essence of opposition?? Let us for the sake of argument consider the allegation of name-calling against GEJ: A careful analysis of the trend will show it certainly was not as early into his (GEJ's) tenure as what obtains now with PMB. (just for the records, the latter is exactly 16 days into his tenure.) GEJ was sworn into power as substantive president on May 6th 2010. I can clearly remember him riding on unprecedented support and goodwill from virtually every section of the country. Indeed all the quotes from Barcanista are from 2013 upwards, almost 4 years into his tenure. So, other than inconsequential slips here and there, there really nothing the current occupant doing wrong, as aptly captured by nollywoodbabe https://www.nairaland.com/2378246/sadly-enough-nothing-criticize-president#34746776. Their only platform for criticism is that its payback time. HABA!!! That you hate the country so much and will be willing to sink it come what may ought not to preclude your ability to be at least marginally reasonable in your antagonism. Please! Such petty, shamelessly overt vindictiveness is fiendishly unpatriotic. It is evil. I’m not given to repertoires, so I’ll just end with this: PMB is not the president of APC, or the North. He is the president of the Federal Repulic of Nigeria. It behoves us to give him all the support. GOD Bless Nigeria! 14 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: Daura President Tag: ÁPC Have No Moral Justification To Complain by plendil: 5:46am On Jun 14, 2015 |
barcanista: All your quotes are from 2013 to 2014. That is more than 3 years into his administration. Kindly look for any such quotes that were made around 2010, when GEJ just assumed power. I gave a similar challenge to your cohorts at the other thread, but they ran away. I hope you wont disappoint. 2 Likes |

Defcon1: Stop being unreasonable. Jonathan was sworn in power May 10th 2010. Did he, less than a month into his tenure, receive the kind of unwarranted bashing you and your likes are giving PMB? I can correctly remember GEJ enjoyed unprecedented support from virtually every section of the country for well over a year. Many people viewed the unique circumstances of his rise to power as divinely ordained and so were willing give him all the support. It was many years later when he began to show signs of being ill-fitted for the job that the groundswell of opposition against him began to rise. PMB just got into power. Give him a chance. If by this time next year or even six months later, there is still no visible impact, then I wont personally mind leading the attack against him. But for now, pls stop the bad belleism, its not healthy. |

All these posters claiming work pressure being responsible for the poor behaviour, what about the guys? Are they not under pressure as well? There is one guy at GTB Abakaliki, I beleive it Chuka or so. Meeeen, this guy is just too much. Even when irate temperamental customers start raking, you can never see him losing his cool. Compare with his counterpart, that yellow pawpaw and the slim babe wey dey always frown. The same thing at Diamond bank, also in Abakaliki. Both their CS are males and they are simply superb. During the heat of the BVN registration when the queue would extend almost outside the bank, you still them apologising for taking your time, asking if you dont mind waiting, if you're tired, etc. There must be something about those females. . . 5 Likes |
