Your benefactor ruled Nigeria for six years and left us with less than 2000 megawatts of energy production as a parting gift. PMB has been in office less than 30 days.

Well, I'll hazard a guess: if you really want to know why that "zoo" (very apt choice) called Nigeria is unlucky, you and your benefactor can start by looking at the mirror.

This is silly and totally uncalled for. If indeed true, it was obviously a slip of the tongue.

If you guys are so keen on criticising, at least make it constructive.

Yes, I have some issues with some of the steps he's taken so far, but this silliness is getting out of hand.

Hi guys, thanks to the OP for this forum, I have read all what people said, I am not +, but an ex of mine called me in january that she lost her husband after 6 months of illness and he was diagnosed HIV+, so automaticaly, she is also +, you guys needed to see how I wept on phone like a child, we cried together as if it was a death sentence, I summoned courage and swore that day to be there for her no matter what.. The miracle here is that, HER CHILD IS NEGATIVE, we talk everyday and we encourage each other in many ways, I still have strong feelings for her(NOT PITY) and right now she is living life to the brim one day at a time, the fact that she opened up to me makes me feel honoured and loved, am refering her to this forum, she's got a lot to learn and share as well..once again thanks for creating this page...
Sorry for the loss of her husband, but its good news that the child is negative. Encourage to ensure she takes her ARV medication religiously, and she'll be just fine. She will be able to live for many years to care for her child. cheers

Kill off isn't the right words...these people make so much money from these toxic drugs and that' why the cabals(manufacturers) keep thriving...

I'm conversing with you now GenBuhari, I have seen personally people especially pregnant women who originally are healthy, then go for their antenatals, are asked to get tested, and the result comes out positive. They bring their partner who they've been having sexual contact with(unprotected) from the word go and he tests negative. Then, the person administering the test says he's on the 'window period' meaning that at that time the virus cannot be detected and should come back in 3 months, he goes back and still the same result(negative) even after 1 year and so on...what does that say to us?? Meanwhile, the poor women will be placed on the toxic ARVs just to prevent mother to child transmission as they and then the child get delivered and tests negative...lol...

This is just a scenario...
Your blinding ignorance is reassuring. At least it gives me a clue as to the supposed cure you're peddling. Just a clarification, you dont believe in the HIV but you believe there is a cure? How incoherent can on get. undecided

To the bolded above, such cases abound in medical literature which is known as discordancy. A host of factors are responsible, not necessarily the window period. That however does not discount the existence of the virus or the efficacy of the current ARVS. Indeed, the current regimens used in PMTCT are less toxic than the previous ones and have demonstrated in clear ways their efficacy.

The current practise known as option B+ is to start those women, once confirmed positive, on treatment asap. This is the best way to reduce the chances of her passing it to her unborn child.

Having experienced first hand what HIV/AIDS has done to families in Kaduna, Kano, Edo, Kogi, Taraba, Benue, Enugu and now Ebonyi, many of which were due to ignorance (like you) and denial (like General Buhari), I have this final word to to your and your partners in this inhuman, unspeakably callous practise of leading people astray: REPENT!!

Humblesam:
Most backward and poorly governed state we are talking about here mind you, because if it was development, Osun and Abia won't be in that list there.
Ebonyi deserves better than what I saw last term I was there,I will always say it.
And when was the last time you were there?

All those calling for Ebonyi are obviously either stereotyping or just being mischievous.

Just for the records, I'm not from the state, but I honestly cannot rank Ebonyi among the states that are poorly governed. Having visited well over 18 states in Nigeria, I can say for a fact that given the states' lean resources, the Elechi leadership didnt do too badly - it just a few months to the end of second tenure that he started misbehaving.

Likewise I concede Osun shouldn't be there. or are are you expecting him to start sacking workers en mass?

For Benue, I would say Suswan started out quite well. but gradually lost focus after his second term. I was in Zaki Biam then and can attest to some of the developmental prjects he started.

Kogi rightly deserves the list. Abia was well. Sentiments aside, those two states should be doing a LOT better than they are currently.

Let us not give the impression that tire associated road accidents are only a question of tire brands and whether they are new or tokunbor.

Have you not seen Nigerians that inflate their tires to 70psi when the maximum pressure should have been 44psi! I have seen a lot, 50, 60 and 70psi.

For me, that is a more common cause of burst tires.

So, in as much as you buy quality and genuine tires, do not disregard other safety points, and be gentle (doesnt mean slow) while driving.

I have used Double King (11k) for a year now. I have done daily city driving with it and travelled Asaba to Otukpo, Benue thrice, Asaba to Enugu twice and Sapele to Asaba via Benin thrice. I do average 100kmph highway and try not to exceed 120kmph
quite right. I bought my Chinko "Boto" from Michelin for just 9k and have been using it for more than a year now, and yes, I do quite a lot of travelling. The issue of over inflation is a serious problem in these parts

Car TalkRe: Best Car Scanner For Nissan Primera by plendil: 6:34pm On Jun 07, 2015
alezzy13:
Hi Guys,

Please I'm thinking of getting a good affordable scanner for my car - a nissan primera p11-144 (1999 model), and I'll appreciate suggestions on the best one to procure.

But just to briefly explain the problem: up on till recently my baby had been performing beautifully, but few months ago it started jerking while on top speed. Switching off and on the engine momentarily improves it, but then the jerking starts again. Sometimes so bad that it refuses to accelerate beyond 1000rpm. Usually there's no problem while driving within town, though I noticed acceleration is a bit sluggish.

I took a mechanic who after scanning said it was the fuel pump. which he changed. No improvement. later said it was the filter, changed but still no improvement. Another one siad it was the nozzles which he cleaned - it didn't improve.

I then took to another (his scanner had a large fanciful touchscreen and looked quite sophisticated, so i assumed it would give the correct diagnosis) and he said it was the air flow meter and possibly the catalyst. I changed the airflow meter, worked for just a while then went back to the problem.

I should add that I usually have to pay separately for the scanning during each visit. That of the touchscreen cost almost 7k! embarassed cry

But what I noticed was that they are reluctant to tell you the actual code, insisting they will repair it. So I think the best thing is to get one myself, get the actual error codes and seek the best remedy. Hence my appeal.
This guy funny o! You scanned for a whooping 7k and don't even know the codes? NA wa OOO shocked Sorry dont mean to sound insensitive, but e be like say ego boku well, well. grin Firstly, scanning should not cost more than 3k for that model of car. Secondly, you should INSIST on knowing the codes yourself. You're obviously educated, so with the power of the internet, you can google know the possible issues.

I drive the same primera as well, I won't be surprised if the issue is related to the MAF as the Primera is notorious for that, and error code is usually p100. It may not be the MAF sensor itself, it could be the wiring, contact ports, etc. Mechanics are alway in a hurry to change the sensor.

Lastly I don't see any big deal regarding choice of scanner. The car is OBD II complaint, so any universal scanner will give the most generic codes for non-professional use. They usually cost no nore than 10-15k. available on Konga or Jumia. What on earth will a lay man be doing with consult 2/3??

BusinessRe: Customers Queue For Bank Verification Number (BVN) In Dutse (Photo) by plendil: 8:43am On Jun 04, 2015
rhymaholic:
Nigerians like last minute rush. BVN can only be done once in any bank in Nigeria provided you have an account. After the registration and your biometrics is taking, the BVN would be generated after about 24hours and would be sent to the phone number you provided upon registation. Usually there's system error or network error and that's why some people after registration don't get the sms, all you need do is just goto any branch of the bank where you registered if the branch where you registered is not in close proximity to you, walk into the branch and ask for your BVN. They'd usually ask you to provide some details you used for registration (Name, date of birth), they'd search for it on their system and give it to you. Or if you're given a ticket I'd after the BVN registration, go to any of their branches in Nigeria they'd input the ticket I'd on the system and give you your BVN. You'd get the BVN card after 2-3months of registration usually. You don't need to register for BVN twice, if you do it the 2nd time it won't go through as the first registration is already active. The BVN is designed so that banks can have easy access to every bank users profile, all transactions you do in all banks can easily be tracked with your BVN number. That's why when you walk into any bank branch, they'd ask you for the BVN. I hope I have enlightened someone. I'm a BVN enroller on contract at access bank so everything I have said is 100.
Very true. I eventually did mine in Zenith bank and was given the ticket. I came back two days later to get my number sine it needed it urgently. I then received the text about a week later

darqly:
Some lousy banks are using the BVN enrolment as an excuse to get you to open accounts with them, which is clearly unprofessional. If you had stayed long enough afterwards, you'd have been given account opening forms to complete. The commercial banks actually have a target to meet, BVN wise, set by CBN which explains the desperation. For the avoidance of doubt, you must ensure you are enrolled ONLY ONCE in a bank WHERE YOU MAINTAIN AN ACCOUNT. At the point of capturing your biometrics, demographic data and identity is verified via the info you provided WHEN you first opened the account. This is why you cannot logically be enrolled in a bank where you don't have an account or banking relationship- They don't have have any of your info to compare against.
I see. So they mean they would have expected to me queue up for hours only to be given an account opening form? Those guys should be shot! angry Thank God I didn't waste time there.

They are suposed to sent you via text the verification number. I was told it shouldnt take more than 48 hours but mime came after about a week. However, if you need it urgently, I can go to the bank where you did the registration and they will give you.
BusinessRe: Customers Queue For Bank Verification Number (BVN) In Dutse (Photo) by plendil: 9:49pm On Jun 02, 2015

The information highlighted above is not entirely accurate. You can only be enrolled in a bank where you have an account as you will have to be verified and authenticated. Once you've been issued the BVN, you can then submit it at any other bank where you have accounts so it's linked.
Are you sure about this? Because I went to make payment at a bank which I had no account and was directed to collect my BVN at the customer service, after clearly telling the teller I had no account with them (access bank). I however didnt get the number cuz got discouraged by the queue.

I think Op should have categorically stated "top five corrupt revenue generating agencies". They all generate huge sums of money and remit same to the coffers - or are supposed to! lipsrsealed

Otherwise bodies like NPF, PHCN, NA, NACA should justifiably be among the list.

BTW why is everyone mentioning FRSC? Personally I think that aside their occasional excesses, they are one of few agencies that do their duties well and can be considered reasonably corrupt free.

PoliticsRe: Leave Jonathan Alone And Focus On The Task Ahead, Alkali Tells APC by plendil: 5:34am On May 07, 2015
I might be pro-APC, but I agree fully with Alkali. The obsession with PDP is becoming nauseating and has to be curtailed.

Thankfully, GMB has not underestimated the task before and is, presumably, strategizing to ensure he doesn't disappoint the millions who voted for him. APC should rather be calling stakeholders on how to move the country forwards, rather than this extremely petty, distracting, pointless attacks on a man who will vacate the seat in just a few weeks time.

If indeed GMB assumes the saddle and infractions are discovered, he then has the full authority to take the necessary action. We saw a similar case during the Yar'adua regime, who upon assumption of office reversed much of the last minutes policies put in place by his predecessor and benefactor, OBJ.
