Mankindman: In summary there would be a volatility. However the next big news will add the most potent steroid injection 💉 to ASI. Tinubu victory at the Tribunal, this will negate the TA and give credence to SA. The only unchartered territory that I 'm seeing is ATH uninterrupted bullish trend of 18 months, regardless of World economy indices, provided there is no Coup de tat or sudden demise of Tinubu. I don't think you should talk more about TA. Some things may defy FA in the stock market but I believe everything can be seen on the charts depending on the experience and knowledge of the one interpreting it......... |

Agbalowomeri: If ASI breaks the ATH, it is bullish but expect a retest of the ATH levels. If it bounces off the resistance, then it could pull back to harness more energy to try again The grammar don dey too much for my daughter sef Is it not possible for TA people to talk and analyze without the word "if"? |

BabsO2: I am still struggling to understand why UBA is lagging more and more behind Access. I thought fundamentally UBA is better than ACCESS when looking at 2022 data and year end market prices for investment earlier in the year. But with the closing trade of 2023 half year, ACCESS has dusted UBA further behind. It will be interesting to see mid year audited data for the banks. I wonder what exchange rate they will use for preparing their books. Access paid better dividend last financial year. UBA will need to do better with dividend payment if they want to catch access. |

, i think it's relative to time, experience, and fund commitment.
A decade experience should at least shape one's investing lifestyle provided there's reasonable fund commitment.
It's easy to get overly excited about FA or TA, until experience does her thing. It is good to see you here again. Welcome boss. |

Experience is the best teacher I don't share that sentiment that people should invest what they can afford to loose. Many have burnt their fingers and have never returned to the market again. My own no 1 rule is do not loose money. |

Streetinvestor2: I have been long enough in the market. And don't believe crude oil price determines price movement in nse mostly now the market is majorly played by locals.Oil price does not stop businesses making profits. Why didn't oil price affect the likes of ub capital etc It is not the daily fluctuations of oil price that affect the NSE. NSE, most times responds to a sustained drop in price. As foreign earnings drops, the effect will be visible on our foreign reserve.. Anything below N30 billion dollar in reserve will most probably have an effect on exchange rates and almost every other things. Having said this, I think the dynamics of NSE have changed in recent years. We have more local players than foreign which is a major factor on how the market now responds to external shock. |

EDUECO: Access or UBA is better than FBNH with respect to dividend payment.
Is like the Nigerian breed of politicians have taken of over the management of FBNH. I don't think is about any politician taking over. I want to believe it is all about sustainability. FBN needs to retain more money to shore up their capital base for improvement in CAR. the last time I checked they have the lowest CAR among the first tier banks. If what one is looking for is a good dividend yield it is my opinion that FBN is not where one can get it for now.. |

onegentleguy: True.
But ask yourself; what has the company done to help cushion the impact of input cost (imported raw material cost inclusive) btw then and now?
Key observation;
• Improved raw material inventory management... There has been a deliberate attempt to reduce that line of cost though stocking. The coys over reliance on imported sugar (ref: 80% as at Q1, 2021) necessitated a rejig in their raw material collection strategy to create a balance in the various forms of inventory. Observe the ∆ inventory position in that time.
• Mapped out strategic plan to beef up backward integration... This of course will support the highlight above and ensure less reliance/passthrough impact from input cost.
• FX Management... The coys cash position has enabled it achieve a better gearing btw then and now... hence healthy cash position and less EFP. The implication is the gradual but steady drop in finance cost relative to debt... hence better earnings delivery.
I also highlighted a few other things in that article. Truth is; DS is in a much better position now compared to then.
It is well I share the same sentiment with you on some of your observations. Good points. Some years back we had a discussion on this forum about DS. One of the major highlights that stuck with me was the inverse correlation between the price of raw sugar in the international market and DS share price on the NSE. Looking at the charts now with my amateurish eyes, I can tell winch direction we are heading, will the price continue to surge forward or is reversal imminent?? |

onegentleguy: So your still waiting for endorsement till now... it's alright. Go and accumulate DS like never before! BUY... ACCUMULATE... HOLD!
I can not come and go kill myself for nothing!
It is well I have been buying DS since last year after they published their q2 result though I was disappointment with q3 so I am not looking for endorsement. One of the attractions then was the low price of raw sugar. I looked at price of sugar in the international market yesterday and I was not too comfortable with what I saw hence my calling on oracle to say something about the chart on sugar . Between the time I checked last year and yesterday, price of raw sugar has gone up by about 50%. Going by my experience over the years with DS, an increase in the international price of sugar always affect the company performance as there will be a time lag for them to pass the increments to the consumers. When one decides to have a substantial part of his portfolio in a particular company, I believe one should be well informed about the company and everything that can affect its performance going forward. |

Also like they don't have the necessary tech Expert to manage their site. You can send them a mail to execute your trade on your behalf. Response is almost instant. Na short time trading I wan do. Capitas7: Seconded. My experience with Meritrade has been poor for over a week now. Meritrade is not accessible - both the app and the website. "Trade now" was not accessible this morning while the site was up. The "Market overview" page is also faulty - lists only about 16 securities and does not show bid and offer information, neither is the limited information anything close to real-time. I have been trying to place orders but none is working. Meristem could have at least notified its clients/customers that they will be experiencing some technical glitch in a stated reasonable time frame. Meristem has been disappointing lately. They need to up their game. I planned to enter market today but they have frustrated my effort. |

Cation: Good evening, what could be the effect of subsidy removal on oil and gas stocks like Total and Seplat? Removing subsidy is easier said than done. The effect on the economy will be huge. Imaging buying petrol at N750. The incoming president has a daunting task on the subsidy issue and with ajaero as NLC president, it will be a long drawn battle. |

What is the issue with these obidients. If you are aggrieved because your candidate lost an election just stay away or take your frustration to the right section (politics) Nigeria should not stop working became your perceived Messiah did not win.
