emmanuelewumi: You did not include the free cash flow in your calculation, the growth rate in the late 3 years, forward looking growth for 2023. The current return on equity is about 10%, I see the return on equity growth to at least 25% in 2023.
As earlier said, I described Unilever as a recovery stock and when a stock fully recovers 100% and above is very possible. The minimum EPS for the stock in 2023 is N2.50k, compared to N1.00 in 2022. This is a very conservative forecast oooo
Buying it at the current price or below and monitoring the stock for the next 12 months is not a bad idea We need to see the next 2 quarterly financials of Unilever before we can say if they have really recovered. I still cannot understand what they did in q4 2022 that resulted in that bogus profit considering the fact that the 1st three quarters presented a negative profit. |

ImperialCovfefe: I have been pondering our catch-22 debt problem lately. What stops Nigeria from going the way of Ghana? Realistically, without debt restructuring, debt default or debt forgiveness (the three Ds), how do we escape this trap long term?
Most of our revenue is used to service debt cost. We then borrow more money to plug the hole in our budget deficit. This leads to more accrual of debt servicing costs. And then we go again the next year.
Fiscal consolidation seems like another plausible path. However, the landing cost of petrol is around N450/litre, and even with Dangote, we can hope to shave N20-N30 off that price. With our current social structure, it’s doubtful that kind of adjustment can be made without social unrest. Hence, the road seems to lead inevitably to the 3Ds. No wonder the DCM was so spooked by the Finance Minister’s errant comments last year We all should be worried about Nigeria debt level. It is not looking good at all. Unfortunately non of the leading presidential aspirants has said much about how he is going to manage the issue. It will definitely be tough and rough. |

oga mi pls check the outstanding stock of both period o, i think bonus has been added to d Q4
Oga cp, I salute o. A very good call here. Good result from a good company with very good balance sheet.. Looking at a company financial q/q gives me the advantage of a better judgement on the sustainability of growth. NAHCO did well but the fact still remains that they made more profits in q3(1.13b) as against 0.627b in q4. |

ololufemi: It's only speculators cashing out on their profits (profit taking) via the appreciation we saw. The fundamental factors affecting the devaluation over the years are yet to be resolved and the CBN still maintains its foreign exchange control policy so we will be back there gradually.
A quick review on how long it takes to get BTA or payment for school fees should give you an idea that it's just a pit stop. I want to believe the recent depreciation of the naira is fuelled by speculation and not much by economic fundamentals...... |

OBAGADAFFI: Remember FX hit N500/$1 immediately CBN started the capital control on FX.
Oil had always been our major source of FX. We have always imported what we eat, so it not a new problem. If he had continued with providing subsidized dollar to every tom dick and harry, by now he would have finished our reserve and that would had been catastrophic. At a time we were averaging 2m barrel of crude oil per day but now we can only do about 1million per day and you are still blaming the CBN Governor for not providing us with enough dollar. Where do you want the dollar to come from? |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 9:49am On Sep 28, 2022 |
OBAGADAFFI: He gets most part of the blame.
His capital control on FX started this problem. He keeps increasing Banks CRR and dashing the money to government.
He messed up the system. He did not start any problem. He is trying to manage a problem that is more than him and CBN. In my own view, our problem is the country inability to generate enough/adequate foreign exchange for our ever increasing needs coupled with our inability to produce what we eat. Imported inflation is a big issue here...... |

ebuka1997: Cash reserve ratio of 32.5%, omo I can't wait for next year and a new CBN Governor, this Meffy is too clueless. I don't think the CBN governor is actually the problem and I can't blame him. The fiscal and monetary authorities are suppose to work together but when you have an ineffective and inefficient fiscal authority superintendent by an aloof president, what can the CBN do? We have a forex crisis which normally should not happen when oil price is high. We are short of dollars as our main source of foreign earnings (crude oil). has been battered. I just hope and pray that oil price doesn't crash before this present government pack her bag and go away next year may. |

freeman67: Wow lucky you. I initiated the transfer since September 2021. I paid to CSCS to get the account statement as requested, fill the forms and everything. They collected and acknowledged it. Since then I have contacted like 4 times on the issue and all I keep hearing is that SEC has put a restriction on transfering from Cashcraft for now. Talk to your new broker. Try and get a contact person who will do the running around for you and put pressure on cashcraft to do the needful. If you make it a two way communication between you and cashcraft without the commitment of a contact person from your new broking House you might wait for years without any headway. |

Gross earnings: N375.793b vs N315.179b : 19.23% Profit/(Loss) before tax: N85.749b vs N76.186b : 12.55% Profit/(Loss) for the year: N70.334b vs N60.581b : 16.10% Total comprehensive income/(Loss): N8.89b vs N40.33b : -77.96% Net Assets: N788.48b vs N804.81b : -2.03%
This 77.96% drop in total comprehensive income and 2.03% drop in Net Assets doesn't tell a good story for UBA. There is also a drop in net assets for zenith and gtb too with gtb being the worst. We need to look at this with an unbiased mind so we can get a better understand of the issue. |

The PFAs offer between 7 to 10 percent return yearly. So you can imagine, it's better than some stocks and even bonds/t bills. It is almost like a risk free investment if you understand the PENCOM investment guideline to PFAs Is like you understand this pension issue very well. I will like to talk to you privately if you wouldn't mind as I have some issues to sort out with my PFA. |
