mendes911: They have been saving about 1.5B in finace cost each quarter (About 3B so far). I hope they can sustain that, else they will be back in loss/undeperform. That is why I don't understand some of these companies sometimes.... With the finance charges down, you would have expected this to reflect in bottom line but for where... They will just find a way to chop the money by increasing operational cost or administrative expenses..... |

stokfrick: Oga have u heard of market makers(your stock brokers, e.g stanbic ibtc) they control a huge part of some company's share, they have both the knife and the yam.
Who told you am speaking based on hearsay. I have access to realtime market activities on the floor. And have monitored market activities for many years. And yes market prices are also manipulated to move upwards. No natural forces of demand and supply determining price. All are artificially created in NSE by the market makers.
"When the market is ready"!! Who is the market?? Abeg let's stop deceiving ourselves and accept reality. The earlier the better! No problem sir, if you think it is manipulation that brought ASI from a level above 30000 to the present level. |

stokfrick: Nigerian stock market don CAST. Broad day light manipulation everywhere! Just to prevent prices from moving up. Very sad indeed!!! Who are the people manipulating prices Don't believe everything you read or hear o When market is ready, nobody will stop its movement either downward or upward |

mendes911: They were already part of the "chop-up" gang before they decided to acquire more shares. I really don't see how the extra shares they purchased made any difference for them (unto back door chippings).
I could be wrong though. Did they actually buy the share back, I thought they back out..... |

Coolcash1: At times when i read all this oyinbo quote i just laugh. i always say to myself that if they were investing in NSE at the time they wouldn't have made all these quotes because they would have been dealt with.
Even the likes benjamin graham, warren buffet et al. that are long term players would just wake up one day and realize their investment is gone or has become worthless..... Warren buffet doesn't play in our own kind of market..... I doubt if there is any stock on NSE that will meet his investment criteria. |

mendes911: Were you expecting otherwise based on the 500k announcement. If result show and improvement dey, then I can agree that the stock is ready to move.
Some people just chop 10% clean mouth. I am waiting for FO q3 result. q2 was good but certain things make me uncomfortable.... I can't hold a stock that I will be checking the price every 1 hour when there are plenty others that I can buy and still sleep well at night... If q3 is OK, we will take it from there.... |

currentprice: if you are thinking which one to buy either ZENITH or UBA
my opinion is buy UBA UBA and UBA
reason: uba appears to have the best numbers so far
UBA definitely has a better numbers compared with zenith. However, looking at dividend yield, Zenith still on top. I am also fascinated with the way Zenith has been growing deposits and shareholders found(net assets). With the way the bank is going, it might hit the trillion naira mark in shareholders fund in the next one year...... |
