rebekah2011: I hope CBN will not scatter things sha. The LDR of Tier 1 banks are too low but CBN has to find another way of assisting them to meet the 60% threshold. That of Fidelity is a sequel to none. That is my major concern. UBA has a good result but how will the CBN policy on LDR affect them going forward as they seem to have one of the lowest LDR in the industry. |

At a point today, FO had about 700k units as total offer quantity and average price for all these units couldn't be more than N18.05. What stops Ignite from coming for these units rather than paying N66 for 500k units.
I hope say na confirmation biase or Sir Jack Daniels dey disturb me shaaa. I don't disturb myself with all those little little things. I have my reasons for taking position. If it goes positive, all well and good and if it turns out the other way I know what to do...... |

Mcy56: Well, it's possible but I believed they'll have their criteria for selection but they just published this week, it may just be for only those willing to sell till a certain date irrespective of when you purchase ...we'll get clearer picture later. Don't get emotional about this FO issue. For now, they are only buying 500,000 units which is very small. No doubt about it ,FO is undervalued at current price but you can't predict those people. NOTE: I am also in the bus with my tashere units as a gamble |

Mcy56: Agba, I think this new acquisition makes it 74.4% stake and not just 500k. If they can buy at 66.25/share and own such high stake, with time FO price might be more than double of the currentprice cos they're out to make profit as well. Just trying to get a picture of the whole thing. They are acquiring 500k now which is very insignificant considering the total OS. If you have taken position just keep your ears to the ground. If you are lucky it can turn out to be a very good one. On the other hand it might mean nothing in the scheme of things. FO .......confusing investors from time immemorial... |

In all those years that they declared the interim dividend in August, boarding meetings were held in July. I wouldn't know what happened this year that the board meeting came so late. |

Chibuking81: Access bank result came out on Wednesday 29th, August 2018, While UBA bank result came out on Thursday 30th, August 2018.
Between today Tuesday 27th, and Friday 30th August, both Access and UBA result will come out.
Their result may bring mini bull. I don't think uba result will be ready until late September. The board meeting to approve the result came up in August which is very unusual for them |

Agbalowomeri: Of course, it would always fail; na only coincidence go make am work I still don't understand why anyone would base stock trading on modelling In my field I do modelling and I know you can get 10 different models (for the same question) depending on assumptions Na that uncertainty I go come carry dey play with my money? The guy simply doesn't understand stock market and is not ready to learn. I can list many stocks that will fall into the categories of stocks he will recommend as a buy based on his "model". Any company selling at its historical low will give him a buy signal even if the company is about to die |

Agbalowomeri: Barring another round of rights issue, I think I agree that Wapco appears now bullish The daily candles already crossed above the cloud (must be one of the few among the popular stocks) The weekly candles is presently at the cloud resistance, I believe it would break into and above the cloud and could/would be followed by the monthly Good recent volumes too! Before this reflects in the financial report, the TA people would have made their kill and dump Lol However, to get to 54, I think it needs to return to good profitability It's a long-termers play Not a buy for me though I don't think they will do another rights in the near time. Most of their debts have now been paid down. That SA operation that was sucking them up has been exorcised and the dollar debts paid.... |

meshpips: WAPCO
volume done so far this year is the highest seen since year 2008
We have so far seen two months close bullish (June and July)
meaning price closed HIGHER than it opened for these months
The HIGH for year 2019 has been breached to the UPSIDE
This therefore is positive proof that we are about starting a new impulsive wave (movement) to the upside
Last two weeks closed with a bearish body, somewhat marking the end of this prime bullish segment
Outlook:
I expect a retrace to at least 12.30 or slightly lower current price is 14.00 Recommendation: BUY between 12.30 -10.70 region and hold until 54.95 This is a better one from you. However, you still think a company fundamental is not necessary, that is why you are only looking at past performance of price and volume. A lot of things have changed in wapco, from operations, to outstanding shares, to ownership structure as well as performance. WAPCO Os is about 16 billions now compared to some years ago when it was less than 5 billions. At N54, that will give a capitalisation of about 900b........... As I have mentioned here, WAPCO is one of my stock picks but I will not advise anyone to buy now and wait for it to get to N54 before selling except they bringout a superlative result in the next two quarters.. |
