Mcy56: Okay. Just not a year round trader like some of us......but year-round trader don't make what he makes when he enters market. If I have half his of his mattress fund, I would just relax and be a long term investor ni. You don't have to trade all year round to be a successful trader. If you understand your market, you just play with the momentum.... |

Once I see that it is not what intelligence can decode the direction, omo I don take off. The volatility is second to none.
Sometimes when I place a position and in seconds it starts going in the opposite direction, I even started to think if the system administrators are monitoring me to wipe the gain I made
It is a bad gamble.
Once you enter into the right trend, you continue to hammer. But you must be awake and aware because at 3pm(1pm in Nigeria) those crazy yanks will turn the thing around. You can try volatility index now That one crazy past forex o........ |

onegentleguy: For those wondering why ACCESS BANK is currently a better bet than UBA, this post right here(from @ Godlylifeoneart) can well be a clue to the reason. ...there are also a few other reasons though. One of which, I had highlighted earlier with the thing about ACCRUALS RATIO.(refer to the post above)
At least 9 very pivotal indicators from its H1 financial print are all pointing to the fact that ACCESS will go places.(ROI adjusting for risk)
Like I said before, BEST to KEY into ACCESS now !! A word, they say... I am really impressed by access bank. H1 result showed those guys have been able to manage the combined entity well. NPL is well under control, CAR is robust and customers deposit is super good. Going forward access is positioned to be a front runner but beating zenith and GTB in quoted price will be tough if not impossible... |

Valueinvestor: The stock na real juju stock o,imagine some years back i was doing shakara with this stock at 2.97, when our oga even sold a property to buy at #3 +, the rest na story, this stock actually got to #9 +,abi na 11 sef in recent times, infact i just dont want to do the math. When you ever think that this same stock has gotten to around #70 in the past(when nse was still nse) ,the laws of attraction cant but set in ,in ones mind.
Indeed old wine tastes better.
Caveat : Not a buy recommendation(not my style anyway),just playing around my watchlist It was not only FBN that had that run in price at that period of time. Some stocks with worse fundamental even did better in term of price appreciation. For now , FBN is still lagging behind. Among the first tier banks, they have the worse fundamental. And why would anyone buy now when we have better options if not because of the name and sentiment. This however does not mean FBN cannot return a higher percentage in term of capital appreciation. Bottom line, we must all be able to define what we are to buy...we could be fundamentally, technically, sentimentally, spiritually driven... |

onegentleguy: A CHOICE BETWEEN UPDC and UACN... part 2
In my view, the move to unbundle or possibly divest from some of its loss-making and not-so-profitable business segments is coming a bit late. ...though better late than never.
Just a few weeks ago, the group(UACN) gave up its majority stake position(51% before then) in their logistic business arm(MDS logistic) to the core investor(imperial logistics). ...taking their total stake to 57% and reducing that of UACN to 43%(an 8% swap). That arm has witnessed a difficult path to cost optimization(higher CoS) and dwindling revenue, despite the groups effort at curbing down OPEX. Worse still, is that vol has been on the downward trend for some quarters now. I think it will be best for UACN to consider given up more stake in that arm(logistic) of business to aid leverage. I also think the quick service restaurant arm of business should be divested from in totality. ...think UACN holds more than a 50% stake therein.
However, the move to give up of its entire stake in UPDC(64.2% as at H1, 2019) is the most STRATEGIC move to growth if u ask me. The increased revenue witnessed in Q2, 2019 by UPDC is not sustainable. ...especially when u consider the fact that any drive in sales has always been bitten down by high interest payments.
Good a thing, the group(UACN) is gradually recovering its mkt share in the Agric feeds business segment(H1, 2019 in view). ...while the packaged foods(UAC foods) and paint business segments are doing great.
At the current mkt price, I have no doubt in my mind that UACN holds in it, a lot of prospect. ...a lot of inherent VALUE !! You are good at putting your thought into writing.... I envy you sir. I am in agreement with your analysis here.. |

Valueinvestor: Most brokers wants to make you feel investing is difficult,so that you can pay them for the job Online investing is an option sir
But if i may know why your choice of UAC PROP, (probably there is something we are missing out)cos i see a lot of steady earners wih low prices in the market . You still have to go through a broker with online investing.... I placed the trade myself through my broker platform..what I noticed is that my mandate is not showing on the outstanding order page for all my mandate today... I have a long time view of the stock market and I try to buy good stocks that are selling at a discount to fair value. How ever I have another account with which I play kalokalo on NSE most especially when we have a boring market... UAC--PROP is basically a gambling thing for me.... |

rebekah2011: It is actually UPDC shareholders that will key into UPDC Reits. UACN is planning to exit UPDC totally. They must have found a saviour to bail them out of their misery. I want to play kalokalo here, which one do you think will bring quick gains of between 10 to 20 % |
