Conoil closure is between Monday 10 July and Friday 14 July 2017.
When actually is their mark down between 10 and 14?
Does it mean that whom ever that will buy by Monday will not be entitle for their dividend since Monday follow among the date for closing of their register?
Mark down is monday 10 july. Anybody that has not bought by friday july 7 will not qualify for dividend.

@ dis rate when do u think they will pay off this huge debt
What investors want to see is a gradual reduction in debt and not a debt free company. A company with the size of FMN cannot practically stay out of some level of debt.
My suspicion is that they will be coming to the market in the nearest future to raise fresh capital in form of right issue after they might have succesefully pushed up the price on the exchange.

Better to enjoy myself at Mr. Bigs for 30 days than to invest in Aiico.

Close to 2 years now,Aiico has never been profitable.
On the contrary, i think aiico is a stock to watch.

Keep it up. It adds much value here.

DISCL: Most technical guys here simply look at the EPS and compare it to other qtrs and proceed to their charts... grin
Every new day is an oppurtunity to learn something new. We are all learners.

@Prof, if technicals guys should look too deep into company books, it will end up in confusion and they might not buy anything at the end of the day. grin grin

Fair result.Much improvement over last year.
Major issue is the level of indebetdness.
Over N190b in debt.
Still working for the banks.
Banks got N32b while shareholders got less than N3b
A company to watch for a long play.

The market crash let the man down, though he (abayomi) has learnt a lot from it. I am by no means one of his numerous and ardent followers and usually come from ibadan to attend his seminar in one hotel in ikeja every Sunday where I met alhaji kurfi (livestock director) and other coy promoters. However, that is in the past, the same abayomi has been shouting/recommending stocks such as Access when it was N3 in 2015 and I am sure those that bought and hold since then would have been singing his praises now.
I dont even know that the man still writes about stock now.
Gone are those days when we were always looking forward to get copies of his weekly stockwatch magazine.Even in my local area here we mus get it at all cost. I stiil get some copies in my library. He did his best and he got so many of us interested in the stock market.
With my little knowledge about stocks now,i will rather do my analysis myself and follow my own investment rules developed over time.

Please forget all this kobo kobo stocks...they are more of traps. Better bargains are lying around the market.
The emphasis is just to put the record straight. I was once a victim of this miscalculation of this kind of kobo kobo eps.
And by the way,who said there are no good kobo kobo stocks. History will tell us that penny stocks give the highest returns in a bullish market, examples abound on the nse....

0.88k is less than 1k.

Note that N0.88k is different from 0.88k.

N0.88k is the same as 88k, while 0.88k is almost 90% of 1k.
You got it absolutely right.
the eps is 0.88k which is less than 1k. They will have to increase eanings in 100x for them to have 88k.

Hello smart guys of this forum, I am away from the country often and was hoping to get a better broker who will offer me online trading of my stocks. I was thinking about morgan capital, perhaps apt securities or meristem. Please who can offer me advice on the best broker to use. My main concern is online trading of my stocks by myself on a reliable platform, I keep hearing negative stories about morgan capital deducting money, they were also suspended last year. You opinion is highly welcomed.

What can we make of Livestock?
Fxuser has pointed the way, but can we dig deeper or better still, can we have more opinions?
Fundamentalist's opinions are welcome.
Even 'Hunchilistic' and spiritual analysts are welcome.
All we need is to make money, not minding the analytical leaning... grin
LIvestock offers so much promises but delivers little.
One major problem is lack of adequate capital to run the company. They are trying to address the issue of inadequate capital by raising fresh funds through right issue.
My conclusion about the recent rally is that the company might be pumping up the price for them to get a good price for the right issue.
Fundentally livestock is not a company to buy at this point in time,my opinion though.

NOTE. That the fundamentals of the company is not looking very good at this time does not mean the price cannot continue to rise as there are many other factors that affect price on the nse apart from company fundamentals.

Activity on the nse this week looks like a gambit to me.foriegn investors flood the market with mad offers, push the price down and then buy 2times what they have before.i wont be surprised if the bulls resurfaced again by next week when they are buying again!just my thought.
Oil price is important for nigeria and the nse in particular. One can only hope the drop in oil price will be short-lived, otherwise.....

From experience with CDMA coys, Banks don't have that expertise.

But nobody can tell me ETISALAT or Telecoms companies don't make profits, most of their incomes are usually diverted .

Ernest Ndukwe tried enforcing corporate governance when he was the NCC EVC.

The same man is a director in Access Bank. Ironic

http://www.accessbankplc.com/pages/about-us/board/Dr-Ernest-Ndukwe,-OFR.aspx
Managing a company is actually not as easy as people outside think.
I am not suprised that etisalat is running at a loss as they came to the party very late. Other telecos have had their own difficult time too in the past.
From where i stand, the whole story is not good for anybody not even acess bank that is taking the company over.

I noticed something this bullish era, the moment I take my profit from a stock, the way the stock rises in price just amazes me, bailed out of transcop @ 35% and the stock has returned close to 100%, bailed out of fbnh @ 50% and the stock returned more than 120%(bought 3:12), now I have bailed out of CCNN @ 35% everyday is a new high for this stock..............@ times I now feel that stocks that are resistant to price change in my portfolio are just waiting for me to sell to start moving up

...that's not true. Basically, if I am interpreting the chart for my own decision, I will wait till price gets around the highlighted area (below) and take action when I see bull signal (if profit taking continues)
-Otherwise, if profit taking subside probably today or next, then price will not get to the highlighted area before the reversal occurs.
-It is just understanding of price actions and volume

point of correction.fcmb group has csl as a stock firm and csl as a registrar. Both are two different companies. They only divested csl registrar which is now cardinal registrar.
Right now they have the following as subsidiaries:csl broking firm, fcmb capital market, fcmb bank and fcmb trustees.

coming to revenue diamond bank had higher topline as revenue than fcmb while fcmb had higher bottomline as profit. This is where investors keep their eyes(bottomline)

Fcmb had a higher eps in the Q1 than diamond.I dont know much about others but i have pointed the key points.

I believe that diamond bank can perform better than fcmb with time but not now. They were better than fcmb in years back but not now.....i get am before no be property.

Sir pls let this no cause arguement. The most important thing here is we all are making more money this year. With time,we shall know where each bank belongs to.
Thanks for the correction on csl stockbrokers and registrar.
You are however wrong on bottomline for fcmb and diamond banks. As at q1 2017, diamond has a better profit and eps than fcmb..This is not about argument,it is putting the record straight.
diamond profit is 4.8b and eps is 18k compared to fcmb profit of 1.5b and eps of 8k

If current rally continue FCMB will hit #3 plus at the end of the year.
FCMB has subsidiary like CSL stockbrokers which is one of the leading stockbroker in the country, I have them as my stockbroker too.
With their subsidiaries they stand tall in the midst of Diamond bank and Fidelity.
Are you really sure of some the things you are saying here?
Has fcmb not sold CSL stockbrokers to cardinalstone?
And what is the shareholders fund, assets, customers' deposit, loan portfolio, gross earnings and PAT of fcmb as against diamond bank and fidelity as at q1 2017huh
I think you need to revisit those results again so as not to base your judgement on false premises.
