DaLover:I can relate with this! And at this point too, I think it is a good decision to withdraw the soldiers. The situation has been contained! |
^^^ Pass them through a 'filter paper', the real Boko boys will surface! Even if it is one! ![]() |
Let's hope the sing like canaries! We have to get to the root of this problem. kudos NP! |
Did you by any chance register your name on Facebook as Bokowumi? |
^^^ You heard it first from me. Now let's run with it! ![]() |
If the cobra understands thebiologist's language be it verbal or sign. It can be argued and rightly so that the biologist can give a hint or clue to the cobra to strike. The thing with some of these suggestive analysis is that readers with malicious intent will read the sign posts (especially if they are not already aware of such) and take it as a hint to strike. Pardon me if I in away suggested that you are sympathetic to the oligarchy. But that is not the case here. At any rate, the mistake the oligarchy will make is to underestimate GEJ popularity in the core south and miscalculate. 1967 is way different from 2012, the core south bouncing back from surprises is something the oligarchy should consider factoring into their calculation. And such surprises will remain what is it - surprises! |
All I see is the writer urging the oligarchy to 'strike now!' Well masked as a treatise on history, but then a veiled call for the oligarchy to move on to the next stage. Yes I smell the danger too! |
Lets leave that girl a beg. What is the situation in Kano now. who were doing the exploding and shooting? Did the security agents make any arrest? |
Negro_Ntns:Exactly what you should asking yourself, since your antecedent precedes you! |
Negro_Ntns:Would it not be more harmonious if you spend some time analysing how to extricate your Kwara, Kogi brethren from Northern hegemony when the poo hit the fan? Or is the grand plan to abandon them? |
Nchara:Abagworo is an educated and intelligent fellow; he might not agree totally with some of us, but deep down in his heart, he still love his people. he still believe in the Nigeria project and hope it will work. I believe in Nigeria too, but I will embrace Biafra* at the very first chance I get! So we listen to him, but we don't always have to agree with him, neither does he always have to agree with our views. * A new nation comprising the old Eastern region (or some part of it and any other interested group) |
Desola:Double speak or inconsistency at it best! Now listen to yourself: 1. Jonathan is wants to bring the country to a state of anarchy and 2. Just when the state of anarchy was building up, he sent soldiers to quell it! 3. Now same soldiers who are quelling a possible revolution are also the one fueling a revolution? Bunch of ethnic and bigoted crap if you want my opinion. |
efisher:Indeed, and the bombing would have been carried out mostly by Nigerian Army, and many more ND communities would have been destroyed by now. Imagine Buhari with his vengeful mien, given the fact the he would have lost woefully in the ND, and SE! |
BlackPikiN:lol, what if the bolded is what benefits his people? Can you deny then that? ![]() |
ezeagu:Don't be too sure. Over time, the opportunities of the new port will be grabbed by business savvy people. ![]() |

Ibaka seaport ’ll create 100,000 jobs – Gov Akpabio On December 15, 2011 · In Business Tweet By Godfrey Bivbere & Precious Iyomere Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, has said that the deep seaport to be cited at Ibaka near the state’s capital, Uyo would create over 100,000 jobs for the country’s largely unemployed population. The governor who disclosed this at the concluded summit by the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC) in Uyo with the theme “Unlocking Maritime Potential of Akwa Ibom State for Accelerated Development in Nigeria,” noted that the 129 kilometers stretch of land at the Ibaka port area would be a self-sustaining industrial city. He said in the next few weeks, his government would award a contract for the dualisation of the road leading to the port, to correct the mistake in Apapa port area. Gov Akpabio The governor, according to a press statement signed by Chief Micheal Ajayi, General Manager in charge of Public Affairs of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) quoted the governor to have added that in partnership with the Federal Government, a multimodal transport system would be built to include rail lines linking Port-Harcourt and Calabar. He said, “The area designated for the project has the longest coastline and just five kilometers away from the capital city. With a depth of between 15 and 18 meters water channel and 129 kilometers stretch of land it has some of the best port features that could be found anywhere in the world. “With Ibaka deep seaport, we will have a seaport that will not require perennial dredging. Investors will be in business for a very long time without bothering about dredging. “The port will serve all countries in the Gulf of Guinea. The peaceful nature of the community and availability of undeveloped land will make the area a self-sustaining industrial city when the port is completed. In addition to the port, the area will also habour independent power plants, refinery and industries. “It sounds great and unbelievable but achievable. It will employ 100,000 Nigerians, strengthen our country’s position in oil and gas sector in the world. It will be the nation’s gateway to the rest of the world through the Gulf of Guinea.” Governor Akpabio handed over the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of the land for citing of the seaport measuring 5,580 square meters to the Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, Engr. Omar Suleiman a few weeks ago . “Time means everything. I’m already on my second term and there’s no third term. I can’t wait to see this project realised. I share the passion and I see that passion in Suleiman,” he said. In his speech, Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Omar Suleiman said that the Ibaka deep seaport project will transform the state into a commercial and industrial hub of West and Central Africa. df2006:Abi oo, please tell them. I wonder why every moves is viewed by ACN/SW goons with ethnic lens. Is it because a Northerner is not the president. I wonder what will happen if Federal Government should commission Ibaka Port in the Akwa-Ibom axis as commercial port! Then at this rate SW would probably go to war just to maintain the status of Lagos port as the only commercial port. I have never seen so much hypocrisy as these goons spill daily. Shame! Nevertheless, I think that is what government should do. Another commercial port is very critical at this stage to ease congestion in Lagos. Ibaka Port should be completed and commissioned! |
We are approaching dangerous grounds! If this threat by MASSOB is anything to go by, Igbos should be extra vigilant wherever they are. |
2mch:hahaha, everyone who supports the president's policy is ND goon, and also Beaf. The most I can tell you is that I am not Beaf, neither I am an Ijaw man. The port I agree are national security assets, but the fact remains that apart from the usual suspect ACN crying wolf, no one has seen the details of the President's plan for thorough analysis. It would be silly for anyone to even take the ACN words for it. ACN are known for double speak and in my opinion not a credible party. Unless further details are revealed about this plan, my opinion remain! |
2mch:Simply because the president prefer to hire a private security firm to secure the maritime boundary, as against creating another kleptomaniac government agency? Men, you ACN goons are taking your GEJ hatred to another level. Must you lot view all government policy with your bigoted lens? Na wa for some people. Abeg cut the guy some slack. He is the president of Nigeria, and you ACN goons must learn to accept that! |
2mch:If there are private ports in Lagos, then it is your port! Otherwise, it is our port. And since we voted GEJ, we trust his instinct on this matter. Case closed! |
Iolo:Geographically speaking there is nothing like SS. Even politically, there is no clear cut SS ideology. The Ijaw orientation is different from that of Edo, Annang, Ibibio, etc. As per your experience in the Biafra days, I can assure you it was not happy days for most people in the Eastern region then. Nobody is happy to fight for years. And where resources are limited there are bound to be competition; your claim of marginalization will be credible if you can prove that all Igbos pupil/students eligible for school were enrolled, while all Ijaws pupils/students were denied admission. Left to referendum as you put it, there will be discordant tunes from SS. Some will go with SW, while some will go with the SE, and a few will want to be on their own. As per your argument about the SS owning the oil, I can only laugh. The words out on the street is that 'Nigeria' owns the oil, not the mythical SS. What will a smart people do, continue to watch the oil going through the pipeline, all the way to the North until the final drip runs out because you don't to share? Or simple negotiate a solution with a smaller group with their own proven oil and gas reserve. An average Ijaw man has wisen up to the reality of Nigeria - perhaps Saro Wiwa death, Ogoni, and Odi should have taught you a thing of two about Nigeria. But at any rate, Igbos may look on as you hold tight to the oil mirage, while the rest of the nation continue to cheat you of it. South South own the oil, but how many SS people are listed in the oil marketer cabal scandal. You better wake up and smell the coffee. You best ticket to enjoy your oil is with your 'brothers' in the east. If your are in doubt, continue your line of reasoning. We will compare notes in 10, 20, 30 years from now. Bottom line, you need the Igbos more than we need you, and your oil is not as important to us as you think. This goes also to our friends/allies from Akwa Ibom, and Calabar. Peace! |
