Gej will kick buhari as$ in any election organised today. |
As predicted NLC has withdrawn from the protest. Where is the mother of all strike bill ti start on Monday? people have better start heading to work or things might get worse at personal level. As a pro-subsidy removal, let me say to my anti-subsidy removal compatriots - No Winner, No Vanquished! We can have another battle against corruption and bloated office. Battle for free or cheap oil is not altruistic. |
Interesting pespertive. Now let me see how some of the hypocrites will spin this! |
***Yawns*** |
Nice move. But it would be much better to give up the boko haram members in their midst. |
Bakare had once wished death on the president if he does not reverse the subsidy removal. Shouldn't he be made to offer some explanations? Beyond that, arresting any of those goons is no big deal. Just that at the moment there is no real reason to arrest them all. But Bakare has a case to answer. @cyberG, only hypocrite see every comment from tribal lens. |
He has no cause to order the arrest of 'some' of those men. That said, arresting them is no big deal. |
Interesting development. I blame the whole saga on the fuel subsidy protesters and the oil cabal, and those angling to remove GEJ? What gave them the impression that everyone is behind them? Nigeria is a very fractured society and you don't threatened the first president of a very repressed and marginalized group as we have in the Niger delta and to some extent the SE? Where is the wisdom and the so called political maturity of the SW politician and their northern counterpart? This crisis lays on the foot for attempting to destroy GEJ through the back door - Civilian coup. Do we now expect the president to send soldiers to secure the oil facilities against the militant if they are shut down against his wish? |
He is taking time off to attend issue bordering on security perhaps. I believe Boko Haram issue is far more critical than the subsidy matter. cut the guy some slack peep |
Where were the 'progressive' ACN reps and CPC reps when all these frauds, waste, and leakages were passing through the National Assembly for rubber stamping? By the way, it is naive to expect NLC to fight the wastes especially since their constituency - Ministries, agencies, and other government departments are the major beneficiaries of those 'largesse' and perk of office. Let us also not forget in a hurry the worker's unions are the same body that frustrated NEPA/PHCN and also threatened to resist the merging of government ministries and department on the excuse that it will lead to redundancy and retrenchment of members of NLC. NLC does not support lean government, they actually oppose it. As for bakere, he hasn't said anything new. The question again is that what has his party CPC done in their own little way to raise or address these issues at the NA ? that said Bakera is a hypocrite: an attention seeking mofo, whose strange and unholy alliance with one who the 'spirit of God' according to him has rejected (buhari), led to the slaughtering of innocent corpers and soiling Nigeria with blood. Bakera is a lost and sinking soul who is always looking for platform to reinvent himself. It is simply opportunistic of him to try to make himself the face of this protest. Perhaps as usual, he will fool his folks. |
Fuel subsidy removal protest is silly; every right thinking person know that. I am yet to see any serious protest organised against boko haram. Or is Boko Haram a SE problem alone? That said the current protest is about subsidy removal, it is only those who think through their anus, that will expect SE to mix up boko haram protest with something as mundane as subsidy removal protest. |

Over-flogged issue! Next ---> |
omenala:The original decision not to log on is in order, and I think we should all heed it, at least those of us who frequent the politic section. However, the idea of condolence register is also good, and I suggest it should be created a day before (Feb 2nd)so that others groups or people can start the condolence while we register ours from the 4th. We are the ones mourning not the ones doing the condoling. |
Igbo, how do we observer his funeral on Nairaland? should we declare it Nairaland Day of truce? Or should we stay off Nairaland completely on that day? Any idea for nairaland politics section? |
toba:lol. Ogun State has is about the least developed state in Nigeria, that is where ex-President Obasanjo came from. How about the north that have ruled for over 30 years, can you compare there human development index with that of the Igbos. Nigeria presidency is a CURSE on your people! |
Olodostein:I have come to this realization (bolded) long ago. Today the excuse is: Igbos are the target, yorubas are collateral damage. In any case, I rather be the target than an unsung collateral damage! Whatever collateral damage means in reference to a human being! |
houvest:1. We need to push our representatives through whatever contacts we have to table this at the national assemble 2. We should start massive non-violent protest across South East and South South (Igbo region) to campaign for this 3. Civil disobedience, sit at home protest should be incorporated 4. When all this option fail, we need to to go on rampage, conduct surgical strike at Nigeria business interest, especially the oil sector ala tha Niger Delta militant template, while preparing for war 5. Kidnapping of oil workers, deliberate tarnishing of Nigeria image abroad, and massive propaganda should not be ruled out 6. If all these options fail to move Nigeria, we declare another secession, even if it will provoke another civil war. Failure is when you quit trying to win, not when you lose a battle/war! |
houvest:Spot on Patrick Utomi. It high time we knew what everyone want of this country. A nationwide referendum is way to go. I have a sneaky feeling that majority of Northern muslim consider christian south as hampering there spiritual advancement; and southerner too have not hidden their preference for a divided nation. Plebiscite now! |
toba:http://saharareporters.com/letter/professor-dora-akunyili%E2%80%99s-memo-fec-salute-courage Professor Dora Akunyili’s Memo to FEC: A Salute to Courage Posted: February 8, 2010 - 01:00 The Women Empowerment and Legal Aid (WELA) congratulates the Honourable Minister of Information, Professor Dora Akunyili on the courage she has displayed in joining the teaming population of well meaning Nigerians asking for the handing over of power to the Vice President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan by the ailing President Umaru Yar’adua who has been on sick bed in Saudi Arabia since November last year. By urging the President to write the National Assembly for medical vacation and the Federal Executive Council to rescind its earlier decision of December 3, 2009 that the President was not incapacitated, a good example has been shown to others on the need to put the country’s interest first and respect her constitution on all issues that affect the country’s citizenry. With the courage exhibited by the Honorable Minister, Professor Akunyili has once again demonstrated that being in position of governance requires the capacity to measure public opinion and the flexibility to gauge the feelings and submit to the will of the people. By toeing this path of honour and choosing to pitch tent with the people on an issue that affects them and the corporate existence of the country, Prof Akunyili has no doubt demonstrated a very important astute of a leader. |
Given another chance, we will vote for him again. By the way who did Yoruba vote? And why? |
Yes we are coward. Next question! |
@Onlytruth, the next civil war might last weeks or days because of the potential for maximum destruction due to heavy weaponry. But we need to prepare for a protracted war potentially lasting 5 years or more. we must not overestimate or strength or underestimate our enemies. We must not put to much trust in our allies but must respect their wishes to be neutral or join us. We need to prepare to acquire superior weapon even if an arms embargo is imposed. We need to assume also that oil might not fund the war, and we might also fight alone and against potential sabotage from supposed allies. To this end we need a large warchest and powerful allies outside our shores. Funds, funds, funds! We cannot overemphasis the importance of these in war. We need a large warchest that is perpetually funded. |
alj harem:You obviously didn't get the memo! What is the difference between boko haram and other core northerners? put another way, what is the difference between an armed robber and his accomplice? I see none |
jason123:Thanks for saying this. It is clearly obvious that some people (Northerners to be specific) are trying to provoke Igbo to war. Granted we will lose a lot of properties and life in the North should this happen, but then Nigeria will not survive it. Igbo will only lose in the short term, but we have a lot to gain in the long term should there be another one. It is time the Northern leaders call their people to order. We are skating on ice, and it is thinning by the seconds! |
I truly hope that GEJ will not capitulate on this one. The masses are not necessarily correct. Stick to your guns GEJ, if heaven falls, it fall on all of us. If the hue and cry for cheap oil will ring a death tow to this contraption, so be it. Subsidy removal should stand! |
Ok Bakare we have heard you clown, now where let's see who the coconut it is who will bell the cat. It is folly to underestimate GEJ support btw. |
Impeach him to have access to free unlimited oil? talk about height of desperation. |
^^^ lol. Just giving my humble advice to job seekers! |
The die is cast! Job seeker, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. Occupy vacant positions! |
