Another request came in Shortly, wrong pick up location. Drove around looking for road 8 at VGC but couldn't find it. Only to call and find out she is not at VGC. If another request comes in and cancel again. Am blowing home empty, back to mainland and go and rest. I know it's not ur fault boss, but that's Bolt for u, rider's wins it all... BAZ001: No matter how we try to maintain peace on this thread someone will just come to cos trouble or fight and insult. Since today looks like a day to motivate.
I will like to Motivate or Encourage Graduates here. If u not a graduate yet pls hustle, add schooling or certification to ur plan. I was out of job from January and immediately decided to do E-hailing myself cos I thought u can net 350k every month without stress. cut d long story short. I kept on driving and pushing my C.v and contacts, talking to riders who cares and can help. By July i got a job to resume immediately. Now this is my point d mentality of an average Nigerian is dt u cant get a job easily, there is no job anywhere, u need connections. but as I speak my coy is still looking for 2 share point Expert since June. there is always Job for experience people, for fresh graduate it may be a little hard. so pls graduates lets keep developing ourselves, write exams and certification. because my few months driving wasn't funny, even though its my own car, the stress is not equal to money.
on my way home at times, i see lastma or tout and I will quickly arrange, even when im not driving, the mental stress n fear alone is killing.
Thought of dropping this for someone dt is almost giving up on Job search in Nigeria or feels it's not possible to get well paying job. If u have faith in God all things are possible. No matter d surge I made sure I never missed church on sundays n mid week services.
I want to say thank you to all d Elders, ur info, updates and quick responses to issues here is outstanding.
Thank you Thank you Thank you, God bless Soh u don leave us like dat where I kip my CV again Today dry oo, like I'll join d holiday and call it a day only 2 trips since morning |

izzou: Let me tell you one funny one
It was a Saturday. It just finished raining. I was at Agungi with my tinted Camry 04 . Request entered and I got to pickup.
One woman came out. She probably was rich because she had maids at her disposal. Na so she enter my car
Me:Good morning ma
She: Oga, why is the body of your car dirty? Why is your car dirty? Why can't you people clean your cars?
Me: I wanted to explode. But then I decided to beg her. After all, my money go still complete Abi?
I was begging her and begging... She just kept on complaining and I kept begging. I switched off my radio and increased my AC
Got to Ikoyi bridge and I was hearing someone snoring. Madam don sleep
Didn't wake her till we got to MMA2 roundabout. Ended the trip and looked her in the eyeball and apologized again
She smiled shyly and then she said "I'm sorry for how I spoke to you. I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I'm sorry"
Most times its better to just let them feel like a boss. It's just for a while... That's it boss, u want to secure the bag, she want to massage her ego. No problem, it all end at the destination point. |

Epphy:
Grandpa have vex o. The insult from the guy was not needed. Nobody knows it all, one cannot know every time how a trip would go just from a phone call. One can boot out a rider that is too arrogant with diplomacy or even straight face. It all depends on the situation! Lol wetin man go do, musa eyes don see pass dat one for gate. People expect you to b on the I'm too smart always, but one just have to lean on grace atimes. 2 issues I have encountered on dis quest and I just break a smile were asking a lady to get down at TBS and she happen to have military personnel inside bonny camp, she refused to get down and place a call to them to come and meet us at TBS, irrespective of me still being head on, deep within I picture my life inside dia barrack. The second was fighting a taxify staff, prolly 2 months ago, he & her girlfriend want to transfer 1k and I stood my ground I don't take transfer, he flash ID and I damn him and told him he should know the policy better, we dragged back and forth, he later calm me and tip some little change and the actual amount. I stubborn, I'm born smart, life has it way of humbling one. I once picked a man that was having issue with a driver and he start complaining why do we behave like this, he is going late to the airport and only ask the driver to drive fast, he pulled over and said he's not going again, he should thank his star, if not for the appointment he have, he would have ask the man to just take him back and ask dia mopol guard to mess him up. I honestly can't imagine someone hitting me at dis stage in life, either em right or wrong. |

protocol: I don't want to call you a young fool. Did you not ask her where she was going? So you take people to buy gas? Even fuel? Put it in your car? Hahaha. How long have you been driving? I didn't want to comment here again but you made me do. Son, always ask riders their destination. Stop carrying fuel, diesel, gas in your car for a trip less than 2k. Always call rider then use physiology to know the kind of rider you will be dealing with. Bad rider cancel and move on. Got a request, asked rider destination, rider said vi. But his voice doesn't sound vi, I went and he brought two 50liters can and asked me to open my boot. I open my bonnet, began to clean my air filter. He complained and I asked him to request another one. My car no free start. Finally, he was going to buy fuel. Always ask riders their destination. Don't come here to complain again pls So from the horizon of your window you have presumed you can give birth to me or know my age, need you know before you ever think of touching a computer, I've been a nairaland member, so! I might as well b ur grandfather. You don't want to comment on this place again? Damn you for whatsoever reason you choose not too, your reasons changed nothing, so spare the details, it is needless and you might as well shut down your nairaland account. I'll keep it peaceful and let your unguided and lack of manner of presentation slide, its a brand new day. But need you know... I did ask her where she was going to, apart from her voice sounding angelic and stressed on the phone, do I need to ask how many people and if she is going to buy gas or fuel? You sound way to paranoid and pompous for my type. I only took her from silverbird road to 4th round about with an empty cylinder and back from 4th round about to silverbird (Ya! Stuff my happen inbet), i do far distance for myself & family, but do you think it was my day on Sunday? Obviously I won't d*e today, but can't escape that sh*t forever, so why so much rage from your side in the name of advice? I only put that stuff up to encourage, we can be more tolerant and not sell our peace cheaply to riders irrespective of their antics. If you as her now, she is on her right, cos she believe her money is reading and I made her to understanding the waiting time means nothing, I don't have to get mad or have my day ruined because of her. That day made me to brainstorm and think of way to get off stubborn riders that want drivers to wait unnecessarily... I'll simple tell him/her, I'm on surge 1.8 and he/she knows what that mean, we can end and request again while I put my phone on plane mood. So Bros, try and act mature, you honestly don't sound like one #AgeDoNotTranslateWisdom |

Tyche: The boy knows what he's saying. When he was saying that Uber is heaven sent, he was just referring to drivers and not the patners.
The 5k he will take daily is safely saved, the 25/15 % or whatever percentage the company takes will be ploughed back for servicing and major repairs sooner or later. That's why he said the owners are just rotating money and think they are making profit Let's put this thing together, same tin goes for keke, if the rider gives him 3500 per day, he/she can go as well to save 5000 or more by over stressing the tricycle at the expensive of the owner, so what different dose it make? Mind! I'm talking about something I have done before, not a theory. Now let's look at things from him saving 5k a day after car owner 5k plus fueling around 3k while adding commission of 2k, dats 15k in total, you and I know everyday is not the same unless you want to over stress yourself and make it a must, which is if the morning is not good, I must wait for night or the odd hour. When its all said and done 5 30am to 11pm just to make 5k is like wasting the years of my life, on my part and with the economy situation of this country its called working hard not smart. Here we have to see the owner as an inactive investor and anyone who is into business knows very well that seeking for more then 30% within a certain space of 6 months on investment is a risk on its own, why MMM never made sense. If I invest 1m and get 1.3 back within a space of a year without doing anything, its called money working for me. I don't think fixed deposit can give me a profit of 300k and option of still selling same valuable at a reasonable cost, soh please tell me, how is car owner at the receiving end if the driver keeps to agreement? Mind, car owners have other source of income outside dis as well. |

jesusson2020: I have actually cross check everything before I conclude.
900k Uber car will take you to mechanic every day and remember this is my last money then if I go for loan and car continue to give trouble where will I get another loan to fix the car?
You buy brand new Keke for 600k it comes with warranty, in 1 year you make above 1m by taking 25k weekly rental and sell for 350k. You compare both and tell yourself the truth.
Uber favour we drivers, owners hardly make money. Dru once said he lost money and reinvested, alot of people jump on the fence.
I don't have money for uber car, and I won't involve with buying dead car. So let me start with Keke Do you think someone on this forum have not bought a car of 900k and break even with it? When I say seek for loan, I'm talking of 100/150k, with the presumed energy you put in, it shouldn't take you 3 weeks to clear that. You think you will just buy keke 600k and zoom of work starts, pls r you going to pay for park or get a plate number? Did you try to input the cost of that too? And please stop saying 25k in a year, there is variance in business, learnt to keep space for that. I'll plead with you to stop saying owners are not making money, are you trying to say it safe for owner to increase rentage to 40/45k since you guys make much more. You make 12500 with 3k fuel, owner takes 5k, the company takes 25/15 percent, please how much is left that makes you to make money then the owner? |

The kind rider I have on me now is more then temptation, I'm just holding not losing it, from silverbird road to con oil iketa to fill gas, while filling, she ask me to leave engine running and I try to explain to her that it will only consume my fuel. Later she said we should go to the eatery at Enyo opposite con oil, done getting food, she said she want to use the ATM inside same feeling station, I have to crack the engine for that again. After going back to the gas station, she still took time transferring to the gas seller and now she's using me to buy food stuff at the market beside silver bird road... All this stress won't go beyond 1k, I'm exhausted. It is well |

jesusson2020: That small bus Suzuki is sold around 800k or more and it delivers 30k weekly for obalende to ajah route.
For the moment Keke napep is Wat my pocket can buy and okay getting the 25k weekly. I'm fighting hard to believe u r not a robot, but on d second tot u may not b. Soh down to business, what's the life span for keke napep if I may ask, if u can save 600k, why can't you endure some more to make it 800k? Used to envy keke income till I got involved, nothing is as it seem, even in this business. Keke drivers on truck b/c roads r prone to different kind of stuffs and need u know deh r regular lasma/touts costumer. Last month I was talking to one of them that run on truck D road and he made me to understand he can make between 10 to 12k on a very good day, chairman will take 2500 in the morning for park, other money I can't remember all in total was going close to 3800, he will buy fuel as well, I was just like dis is not it for me, can't invest in dis again. Need you know keke does not have a second hand value and you may not b able to get any good money in bulk. But you may get a uber car for 1 million, make 1.5/2million from it and still sell for 800k, do the maths. When you said uber partners don't make money, I don't know how you think keke investors make money without glitches, when u sit at home and do the 25k weekly maths, hopefully it goes that way, but sorry business is never like that, unforeseen circumstances will hit you and if u r not strong the pressure will break you. My advice to you if you have 600k as you said, stay strong and make more or seek for loan, you will get a fit uber car for 900k that is going to serve you will and you will b able to buy the 1.8 corolla you long for and still keep that while you have your peace of mind and sanity in check. |

But in between to avoid intimidation and self low time to time, from my angle I'll prefer u learn the use of map... There's two major road, which is 3rd mainland bridge or eko bridge, when I started out, I was using eko bridge, cos it is easy and straight, but sharp riders murmur d hell out of d ride, took me months to understand apapa and bariga layout. I'll add the route to note when I'm less busy. |
