See in as much as I give kudos to anyone fighting depression and having the ability to come out and admit it.
I just hope that most of these celebrities are not using the word "depression" just to trend.
Because if they are it would be a massive disservice to the people who are actually suffering from it.
Broda shey if you no get money and you want to go to lekki from mainland, you can manage enter public transport with less or no wahala. Naija is hard. Economy is zero. You are a driver that makes money on a daily driving someone's car. Your hustle. You decide say you don chop belleful and you no wan work but your fellow guy get pattern. He drives a more fuel efficient vehicle and makes money. You wake up say you no do again and then because you no do again, make another man no do. Are you not mad?

You declare your strike. For 12 hrs. You sit hungry at home and request guys hustling, cancel their trips and lie that they came with a different car. Your guy gets punished for a crime he didn't commit. And then few hrs later, you go back online with your own ratings intact, driving on the same platform and with the same rates you refused your fellow hustler to drive on.

You are a mad devil and God will punish you. I am indifferent to your strike. It's my choice. You don't know if I drive an electric car. But because you are not meeting up, you also decide that I am not meeting up and you try to bring me down? You are very mad.

Continue your strike but don't be foolishly hypocritical by driving while the fares are still the same and don't force your imbecilic opinions down the throats of others. There is no union guiding ehailing. Until there is officially a recognized one don't blame me if I do not strike with you. Don't be cynical.
Its a good thing you have earn this much today, how I wish you can help taxify and uber earn their daily income as well...

Please can you post your last week income as well?

If you don't want to work, no spoil another man own.

So you guys will drop other drivers ratings, make taxify block them for no reason and then by 6pm you now go back to the same taxify to drive?

Won't God punish you?
Don't you think taxify is blocking them for a stupid reason, someone request and cancel the trip, its not your fault, but they end up blocking you for flimsy reason. You are not paid by rider and after report for weeks they review one stupid thing and tax you for it, yesterday I woke up to see 800naira on my app for trip I did not take.

The most painful one is Sunday bonus 1500, after 4 trips, just one cancel, finishing rate will just drop like gravity.

This fight is for you, I understand you are zealous and ready to work, no worry, when the time is set, you will be the one to run.

In other news...

We driver-partners have unanimously decided to embark on a sit at home warning strike today Monday 26th Nov. 2018. This is to pass a message to your company that we are not in support of the way we are treated in the e-transport industry. The recent reduction in fare has not been taken in at all by us, and that is the reason for our SIT AT HOME WARNING STRIKE.
The followings are what we want the management to work on:

OUR GRIEVANCES
Note that we are graduates and we did not go to school on credit. Therefore we deserve better treatment.
We render executive services to all your riders, ie(full A/C, super sound system etc). We take insults, we condole riders misbehavior and misconduct, yet we take them to their destinations safely with a smile. All these at ridiculous prices. Let these riders board 'danfos' without A/C or yellow cab without A/C and high charges. Then riders will understand the true meaning of comfort.
Our grievances are;

1. Blocking of driver's accounts without listening to the drivers' side of story. This is barbaric and callous.

2. Frustrating and enslaving fares. If we were truly partners, we would be informed before decisions that affect our earnings are made. Riders are even surprised and bewildered concerning the low fares.

3. Exorbitant percentage (15%) of commission. No e-transport company should take more than 10% of commission.

4. No free will choice of kind of riders to render services to.

5. Rating: this should be a means for riders to determine who is more likely to serve them best.

6. Loss of dignity as drivers carry low live riders that could not in their wildest dreams enter a polished car, insult drivers and make horrific demands.

7. Riders request to carry heavy and dirty luggages at ridiculous prices as luggage fare are not attached. These damages and weakens our car suspensions.

8. High amount of car rent from car owner and tough maintenance conditions

9. Security: there are high risks as pertained to rider's notion. These get greater daily and nothing is practically done to monetize and mitigate the risk.

OUR CHALLENGES

1. Riders take us to dead zones mostly at nights at the detriment of our lives.

2. High cost of car maintenance (i.e, air conditioner, alignment, servicing, etc.)

3. High rate of car insurance

OUR DEMANDS
It is so common and obvious to the sense of every human being that comfort/good life comes with a price (ie. its not cheap). Our services are expected to be executive, and not for pepper sellers or low class people.
We therefore demand that, henceforth, as driver-partners that you call us, 'PARTNERS' in quote
a). that driver-partners must be contacted before any decision in the company is made. We are partners, and that make us stakeholders in the company.
b). that your commission be reduced to 10% charges or less.
c). that your tariff be increased to #85/km and #13/mins as we are facing alot of traffic challenges, especially in Lagos. And we burn more fuel than what we earn at the end of the day.
d). that the so much accolades given to the riders, making them feel like gods and goddess be reduced to the barest minimum
e). that the way driver-partners are tossed around like mere errand boys, working day and night to achieve your set goals and objectives be corrected and amended.

OUR AGREEMENT
We the driver-partners have unanimously agreed that after 21 days of this warning strike slated today, if our demands are not met, we are going to jointly decide to move to other e-transport company that are new and ready to meet our demands. We will also canvass our clients which are your riders to move to the new company to get a better services. And that's how we will crash your stay in this country. This will make you understand the power we have as driver-partners on any e-transport company.

OUR CONCLUSION
We hereby wait for your swift response in treating our request within the next 21 days without any further delay.
Damn right, I support this, but how about other drivers? Many times we forget we all need each other, the penny you are going to make this week won't last forever

An average Nigerian mentality " everybody wants to do uber business because there is money in it. They forget that for every business venture there are challenges that comes with it. If they are not able to summount d challenges, they chicken out. No doubt the business is getting saturated everyday. Those who will make money will always make money regardless of any situation. My candid advice to potential investors is to know what they are dabbling into before commiting their time and resources. Lagos state has a population 20 million people. Transportation is a necessity. People must locomote from one place to another for their daily endeavours. I see more people embracing ehailing. The market hasn't gotten to that point of disequilibrium yet. Supply hasn't surpass demand. Ehailing companies needs to sensitize more people to use E-taxi by introducing incentives. Out of 20 million people in Lagos. Only 2-5 percent of population uses taxify and uber. We still have a long way to go.
Nice one, but if supply is not more then demand, why are drivers complaining of low request? I guess positioning abi? Why do taxify always remind drivers of presumed ending of the month traffic? Transportation is just like food and its a necessity, but mind u, there are alternatives. In this business there use to be a time back to back is certain and one can't make below 15k, no matter how bad the day goes... Let's face reality what happened to the constant pasting and money challenge the platform used to witness? Just pray gokada won't do more damage with time and better start creating exit strategic

Honestly I don't think so cause we have many people in Lagos state. Some drivers don't pay want to the owners. Just like when you say there are lots if red bus in Lagos.
Last few months ...I did night work and it was non stop.
How many people in lagos have nothing to do with the situation out dia. Night trip is the best, free road, less app on, until you took a trip you can't equate your life with (In fact there should b odd hours rate in this business,). Need u know, yellow buses make much money compare to uber/taxify business, if only they can tackle the agberos problem. In dis business some days are good and some comes bad, if you are into any business and you can't put a day or two out for rest then one health and life span is dancing one corner. Now, if you work for 6 days as driver and you can't make 10k each in those days... Story most hit partner, even 60k a week is going to leave the driver with nothing. The insights are deep and mind, I owe my car.

point of correction young lady, am not just a driver but an enterpreneur, I am neither struggling to maintain my car. This notion of believing that it takes money to make bigger money is a pure fallacy. The is what d poor believes and that is why they are getting poorer. What seperates the poor and the so called Rich is knowledge. Financial knowledge. With what I learn everyday I can start a multi millionaira business without even spending so much. Am just waiting for the right time to strike. Which is very soon.
Loving you boss... Dats d spirit, truth b told the business is flopping, I guess excessive puttin of cars by partner is one of d reason, supply over demand is already shifting the market to disequilibrium. My advice to partner think well or u will end up selling ur cars far below cost price.

Many Nigerians are generally illogical. Most of you are blaming Uber for a transaction that did not occur within the time frame of the ride and the contract of Uber and the rider/passenger. First, the ride was completed and the rider paid the Uber driver. It's at that point Uber contract with the rider ended, except if the error the rider made was made as part of the transaction of the ride. That's when Uber are obliged to act on it. If Uber does anything to assist, it's only a courtesy. The best they can do is to release the driver information to security agencies probably after presenting a court order.

We need to all understand how things work in a normal world. I am wondering how Uber transactions work in Nigeria to the point that you have to be the one transferring money directly to the driver rather than transferring money to Uber, and Uber pays the driver. I mean, don't most Nigerians use debit cards. Payment for rides should be coming from there. But I know that ordinary thing in a normal world would turn out to be complicated in Nigeria. So, if rider transfer ride cost directly to driver, then how does Uber get paid it's commission? Just wondering.
When you put the way an average Nigerian reason, you will question your sanity always. I honestly don't know what's uber business in all these, its simple courtesy and they is need for authority to even get involve before uber can do anything. The OP went against uber terms and conditions, on no account was he suppose to send money to the driver or request for his account number because they have 2 methods of payment he can pick from, which is card or cash. But careless Nigerians that like to do things their own way and see abnormal as normal will always find a way to negotiate nonsense. He gave the driver a 1 star on a trip he did not embark on, what's the reason for doing that? The guy obviously knew he gave him 1 star and gently move on, now he kicked the ball to his court (which one have to be careful of sending such money into a provided account without not involving the authorities), and expect him to be a gentle man, like he was when he had to chance too. Its their problem, just let them sought it out anyway they can... I have no side to take here.

Now you guys are starting to sound like you are only hating because you have chosen to ignore the point. The whole degree and MSc talk only came up as a response to someone that feels he knows how to talk....saying he blames the drivers that take the e-hailing business as a full time employment. All d peeps that talked about degree only stated it to make him know that he's probably not as educated or qualified as some of the drivers he's referring to, so the fact he's in a white collar employment and looking at drivers like people that don't have other things to do is a result of the rubbish that occurs in the country, where the few opportunities land in the hands of the very fortunate or connected. So he can't just be talking when he doesn't know what led them into the business.

Nobody is saying uber is not good, or that some people are too big for uber. As long as it pays your bills and you don't have to cheat/scam people for a living, it's fine by me. But let me ask you, if you had the opportunity to sit in an office, earn half a million per month, under d AC and be addressed with respect 24/7, would you rather be driving?....No.

So there's nothing wrong with letting sum1 running his mouth know that he's probably not the most qualified for his current position. This is a country where fortune and privileges(connections) determine people's lives and we must not forget that.
Boss! We are on the same page, I am referring to the person as well. You said half a million job per month, how many job do pay that? Take statistic of the number of your departmental mates and faculty in general again... How many of them are gainfully employ or underemployed? Mine! I think 5 out of 100, the rest are just roughing it, best student (crook/smart) is still searching, second best pick a teaching job, I can't even think of a bank contract or 60k job, I value flexibility of time than anything.

Now my concern is the societal sting, make up artist, event planner all look down on uber guy and somewhat don't want to have anything to do with them. Why? I guess its the charisma and oddness that comes with the job perception... My ex requested 10k from me in addition to get a phone, I'm still considering the thaught of giving, but in line of our chat, she mention her current bf being a banker and I could see the enthusiasm in her face/words like BANKER, up till now I've not reach out to her, that's the last she heard from me regarding the phone issue, let d banker bf take care of her needs. So boss my write up is just about perception and not hating. I didn't drive until I saw someone with MSc from London, lawyers and co driving, up till now, I dare not hang phone... But does it really matter?

That fellow that mention school and legs with noise won collect curse abi? Shock, linkage, pad nah 1k abi? Is it the copy and paste being practice in our educational system or certificate is an equivalent to success in life now? We need to get some things straight, we all long for good things, but you just have to do what you have to do to get by as long as you hurt no man... I am yet to see what is wrong with the business or driving in question, we all have choices, at the end make most of your time and let it count. If you know how many salary earners that are owning me or getting pass for free, I'm even chatting with one now, that does not mean it is bad to live on monthly salary, just do what works for you. Life is dynamic, uber/taxify may not last forever, rip what you can from it before it got bursted and move on to the next level, generation come, generation go, many peeps are no longer in this country, what most people do out dia to get by is ok by me as long as they are surviving, washing plate or cleaning the toilet, who cares? When they come home, they are good, they have a project going for them and we somewhat envy them, registered nurse till sells in US or Canada.

And for the drivers complaining about rude riders, its the way you dress and present yourself you will b address (When u will b wearing short nd slippers as if u want to take breeze outside, wot do u expect?). Phone conversation is enough to tell what's in front of you, if you are not please wit the sound from the other end, don't embark on such trip. Casual dressing or official, look smart and good, let your manner of approach command respect... A lady once yell at me on d phone "Where are you", my answer to that was, madam! Nah fight you want abi ride? you are shouting, she gentle throughout the trip and I collect my 5 star sharp, we need to understand, we r living in time of frustration transfer, it have nothing to do with the job, just know you have to treat some aro patients along the job (ask danfo drivers). The business being matter of time or not, we have EDC, GIG,YSG doing transport business for ages, haulage is a good one too, so anyone that feels like sitting in front of computer can go ahead, set up a cyber cafe or auditing firm, but please don't ever look down on what another man does for a living (Shit business nah serious business too)

Note:- Average Nigerians don't have up to 500k in their bank account, so if you do, smile and b grateful, think smart, things will get better Msc or not, the brain remains unlimited, eduction is meant to enlighten and enrich the mind, putting money in your pocket is just a by-product.

Please I need information on this issue.
I have a car on ehailing with a driver for the last four month and he's trying for me to be honest. This morning around 8am, he called that police arrested him with the car for traffic offence. Rider decided to jump out of the bus due to mad traffic witness today in most part of lagos. He was arrested for that. He did all he could but the officer insisted that he won't release him, and that d case will go to court. The car was impounded and parked in front of their police station. I was called and I went there, offered everything I cud but d guy insisted, about 8 police traffic officer on one uber car. They wanted miney no doubt, but they also wanted to frustrate u first and later demand for one outrageous amount, that was their plan. The car key was seized but no doc was collected, I was there frm 10am to 1pm, I was really really angry. Then something struck my mind, the car was parked like 2 kilometers from where the officers were seated. I took a bike home, brought the second key and informed my driver to leave them alone and walk away. I just jejely carry my car with d second key and I left the other key with them. Guys wat do u think, any risk, do I have to do something or still reach out to the officer maybe like a month frm now. I need opinion, suggestion.
Bros u don buy market, ur biggest mistake start from the moment you choose to appear in station and secondly you people prolly let them aware the car serve commercial purpose out of pity they will understand. You should have just allow he driver to work it out with them, Nigeria police hate court and once the matter get to the office, its off dia hand so most time they may take a case to the office and stalk around, its best both of you talk man to man, don't b scared to read the penalty out and dare the officer in charge to do is worst... Highest in will bring out dia traffic rules book and treathen the driver will go for psychiatric test, just be saying and then, nah new thing, at the end you will both find a soft ground and solve the matter as long as you don't punch dia Ego, they are not willing to let 1000 pass them by, they are going to take your time, buy fanta and biscuit, just observe you resting and I don't care attitude in their station. But this one you went to steal a car from the station (sorry, take your car), just know top officer, because of if they set their eyes on that car again, the case they go heap on that car, you go prefer to dash dem when demurrage don reach half value for the car.

I spot a charity driver, that fare is always about 4000 naira plus and u let go like that. You must be very nice then . Keep it up... Oworoshoki to 2nd roundabout is 2500 naira. Honestly the rider that said the trip is 1400 is very dubious.

These re the challenges you face when you are new.

I often pickup riders going to mall past 7pm or 9pm and once I get to the gate, I do ask them if they want me to end the trip. If they refuse, then I will let them know that I will collect the flat rate to be paid when coming out of the mall or they come down here

Imagine, doing a #400 trip to circle mall from victory park and the rider expect me to pay at the exit gate in the mall. It's not possible naw
New ke! 2 months roll nd its a year, I know lekki is above 4k, but who do I blame? Even the review since yesterday is still pending, sometimes that energy to b dragging with 3 science students is not just dia. Sometimes the app favours the driver and sometimes it burn. The only one that seems to hurt me is when rider start dragging app price "I don't pay more then dis dat for trip like this", I'll just b lookin lyk OYO is ur case.
