mrmetoo1:Is she qualified to be Nigeria's finance minister now? |
Obiagelli:You won't produce the denial of the part that is false out of the MOST that are in court, would you? Court records say Dasuki is charged for illegal disbursement of 'funds allocated to his office' (The same ALLOCATION of funds to the NSA office that forms part of the discussion of your thread, which is the basis for your pushing for a SECRET TRIAL 'as it were'.) But OUR media 'sources' have been saying Dasuki 'stole' $2.1b arms money. And why are Anenih and others not made prosecution witnesses or charged along with Dasuki or charged separately since they have admitted as you claimed? We also know that Buhari received 2 (nos) SUVs from Dasuki which he has admitted. His associate, Jafaru Isa has also admitted receiving N100m and has agreed to return the sum. Media owners and newspapers editors have also admitted receiving various sums. No to secret trial of the so-called 'illegal diversion of $2.1b arms purchase funds'. 'President almost sacking a minister' does not have a single correlation with criminal allegations, demonization and the push for secret trials of an accused who is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Did Buhari not tell the whole wide world that he won't allow Dasuki to be released because people lost their lives as a result of 'looted' arms purchase funds, irrespective of what the courts say? Why is he hiding his trial? Why can't he show the world what he has against him in the open and if he is found guilty he can be sent to jail? Let Dasuki's trial continue in an OPEN COURT. Let's hear his defense. If he is guilty let him be sentenced to jail time. But let's hear how he (mis)allocated the security funds under his care as charged. That's what Buhari wants and it'll serve as a precedence. His own NSA's allocation currently would be a subject of scrutiny one day. |
JANK23H:Don't mind these people. They want to turn Nigeria to North Korea all of a sudden. |
Obiagelli:And you should show us a denial by the EFCC of those media trials. Show us where the EFCC said those numerous 'sources' and multiple 'confessions' were false. |
Obiagelli:Silly in what form? When you demonized someone for carrying out National duties on the pages of newspapers under some phantom 'ARMS PURCHASE' head, and you are now trying him secretly, how is justice being served? How does he defend himself? When we warned that Buhari's government is destroying Nigeria's security institutions and you cheer him on, why didn't you think of the role of the NSA then? You people always stand reason on its head. The money allocated to Buhari's NSA now, how are they being utilized? Dasuki is being tried in the newspapers for a phantom $2.1b arms purchase fund diverted illegally which he has denied consistently whereas he was charged in the open court for misuse of 'funds allocated to his office'. Is it not more silly not to seek to know what is going on in a open court. Why the push for this secrecy all of a sudden? |
Which policy again? Is it the same one that is being reversed? How will they cope when the naira is finally devalued by the CBN? |
When will they give them books to read? |
Kikero112:Is it still not being played now? Is it not the same administration that forged a national budget? |
The Indian community wields enormous economic power in Nigeria. They have their shrines all over. Lagos State government has even set-up a CREMATION system (complete with laws and facilities) to take care of their dead; that happened when public opinion was overwhelmingly against such alien system. If they could succeed with that then Olanipekun and others should know that they can't compete with them with their meager resources. People who can outspend the Indians have abandoned Ilupeju and have moved to Lekki-Magodo-Omole axis. Things might change when more and more Nigerians are empowered economically. That's not our 'priority' now. We want to concentrate on the 'looters' first. When we have 'jailed' them, we might then face the economy. |
So soon? They are using saharareporters.com to absolve themselves of blame, to make it look like they know what they are doing. Why can't they tender their resignation letter when he threatened them? Meanwhile: The sources disclosed that Minister of Trade and Investment, Udo Udoma, and Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, expressed serious concerns over the provisions of several of the treaties President Buhari planned on signing with the UAE. The ministers’ opposition caused serious friction within Mr. Buhari’s team, SaharaReporters learned. Can Buhari enter into any treaty without the National Assembly? The treaties must be ratified (approved) by the National Assembly before they are put to effect otherwise it is a gross violation of the constitution of Nigeria. |
The woman is most certainly an OUTSIDER in the grandest conspiracy in the history of Nigeria - Abducted Chibok Girls. That is why she doesn't know what is going on. Her jumpy attitude irritates the 'initiates', which explains the need to rid of her swiftly before she derails the remaining 'plots'. Some people just join groups and begin to act from their hearts instead of using their heads. Before they realize what they are being 'used to struggle' for is not what they thought, it's already too late. Moral: Do not participate in a cause that you do not have the background detail. |
Goke7:Don't mind them. Very 'real' indeed with budget forgery! That was how they were in 'denial' when Abacha was fighting 'corruption'. 'Abacha never stole' one kobo. |
dafuturis: With budget forgery? |
It has been reported that over 50 people including government officials stole over $9billion in Nigeria. So, how is John Kerry helping Buhari trace these 50 people now? How is he helping with their diligent prosecution for appropriate punishment to be met? Why is his support based MERELY on 'reporting' what was REPORTED [in the newspapers]. The last time, his government VEHEMENTLY denied having any knowledge of any purported list of 'looters', after 'tales' were REPORTED in our media. |
Regional autonomy is 'parochial'. Good governance is the 'solution' to Nigeria's problems. As soon as Buhari rounds up the 'looters' and hang them, Nigeria will turn to Switzerland. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is Chief Awolowo's in-law. He knows what you don't know. Babatunde Fasola is now the Prime Minister, he will ensure Ibadan gets all the grasses and flowers planted in Lagos. You have to 'broaden' your mind and stop 'wailing'. |
Ashimolowo is Obasanjo's pal. He won't say anything to Buhari that Obasanjo has not approved. |
CFCman:Are they going bankrupt? Why should there be SPECIAL CHARGES 'to keep the banks running'? |
MAINTWO:Banks accept deposit from customers and make the funds available for lending. They charge reasonable interest on loans to cover their costs and still make returns to their shareholders. What aspect of services is this maintenance charge meant for? Checking accounts are already charged for various services provided. Cheque books are issued at a cost. Bank guarantees and references are charged as well. Even statement of accounts have their own charges. Debit cards, withdrawal authorization token devices and SMS alerts are charged as well. Plus other numerous charges. What exactly are they maintaining with the 1/mille charge? Are they supposed to charge people FOR USING THEIR MONEY TO TRADE? Are they not supposed to pay THEM interest? Yes, current accounts are to be honored on demand, but not all of them come at the same to make demand. Otherwise there would be a run on the bank leading to a collapse. They still have the bulk of their liabilities as demand deposits. Deposit money business is not for people who want to get rich overnight. Such people should go to Las Vegas. Banking is a serious business for a core conservative temperament. This new charge is a rip-off. Emefiele has been offering himself as a willing tool to do the dirty jobs of the bank owners who pushed his candidacy. These banks are seeking all means to cover their over exposure to oil and gas financing. The CBN should seek to properly regulate them and enforce relevant prudential guidelines with the Basel accords not to be seen supporting and aiding bad behaviors by CHARGING the customers to shore-up unstable balance sheets. |
Why not use NEPA bill? |
They should repent of their SIN of IDOLATRY. They are WORSHIPPING Buhari instead of the LIVING GOD. They incurred the wrath of God Almighty by elevating Buhari to god. They have seen the limit of their god's power now. If they repent, God will have mercy and heal the land. |

Bevista:Enjoying your brilliant analysis on the sideline but have to quickly drop this intervention. Please note: BUHARI's so-called experience is a very horrible one. If that's what the APC is depending on at the federal level then they have made an extremely grievous mistake. It's everything [ENTIRELY and ALL have] to do with Buhari himself. His idea about governance STARTS and ENDS with corruption. It's his mind set. To Buhari, everyone is corrupt and everything is corrupt. That's not a pleasant personality to rely on. Even at that, his strategy in combating that corruption is to JAIL everyone. Just jail. How do you even go about the jailing? What's the method? What prosecutorial strategies have you developed for 35 years? NONE! Nothing! No new laws have been brought to NASS on the perceived or real lapses identified in the fight against corruption over the years. No new strategy. It's the old strategy of shouting 'THIEF, THIEF' at every passers-by to encourage LYNCH action. And the Vice President is a PROFESSOR OF LAW. Buhari's two interventions in our national life as head of government have been in the period of low energy prices. One would think that the so-called first experience after the Shagari administration was toppled would have taught Buhari one lesson or another in dealing with the economic shocks arising from crude oil prices volatility. But NO, he didn't bring any lesson to the table. Neither during the campaigns nor after taking office. Comparing Obasanjo's experience with Buhari's is like matching USAIN BOLT with a PREGNANT WOMAN on a 100 meter dash. Obasanjo was fast enough to propose two laws within weeks after taking office as a demonstration of his resolve to tackle grafts and financial crimes. But he was smart enough to realize that the economy was in a dire strait and needed urgent actions. Crude OIL SOLD for $16/bl in 1999. Nigeria was heavily indebted to London and Paris Club (bilateral and multilateral creditors) with the consequence of an acute debt overhang. External reserve was almost non-existent. Unemployment was a CURSE back then. The financial institutions and markets were terribly underveloped. Infrastructure was in a very bad shape. Industrial capacity utilization was down to 30 something percent while unsold manufactured goods filled up the warehouses of our conglomerates due to fierce competition from import/smuggled items from Asia. We had more than 70 toothpaste brands in the market at the time, for instance. Power generation was hovering around 1000mw to 1300mw. What is more? The media was very hostile to Obasanjo at the time. A section held Obasanjo responsible for the political fate of some persons in the past while others simply couldn't bring themselves to trust a military man in a civilian apparel so soon after Abacha's highhandedness. But he rose to the occasion. He didn't spend 7 months consulting marabouts on the formation of his governments. He took the bull by the horn and tackled challenges as they emerged. Fast forward to 2015-16. The groundwork has been done. The heaviest stones have been lifted leaving only pebbles to be picked along the way. The critical media [FOR ONCE] for one reason or another has surprisingly been friendly (docile). The state of infrastructure has improved - financial infrastructure at least has improved greatly. Buhari and APC just needed to focus on the economy that has largely been modernized for them. They met a technology driven economy which would have made the work much more easier - even for the so-called corruption fight. Unfortunately, the experience after 8 months is extremely horrible. The earlier we put the blame where it is, the better. This is not the first time CRUDE OIL was selling for less than $30/bl, it sold for $16/bl in 1999 and $8/bl during Shagari's presidency in the early 80s. If the Buhari and APC could not even prepare an ORDINARY BUDGET document, then it's not likely they have the answer for anything. Right now, NIGERIA'S ECONOMY is under DOMESTIC SANCTIONS. The sanctions have been imposed on Nigerians by Buhari just because he and his party don't know their right from their left. All we hear is that they want to LIFT PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY [with 5000 naira]. Some terms they read up on the internet but have no single idea what it means. |
All of these posts are being documented for posterity. When Alibaba's own time comes, he will be reminded. Alibaba and those who share his belief of beheading 'corrupt' members without proper trial and outside the rule of law will have a taste of their own medicine sooner than later. |
id911:Words on the street late last year was that Femi Pedro was being being prepped to replace the ineffectual current finance minister. The Lagos State House of Assembly had to hurriedly 'arrange' a pardon for him on his impeachment case in 2007. Alas! Just like everything about Buhari's government, that too has remained INCONCLUSIVE. |
Every single error was a hit back to back From MINISTERAIL nominees To MTN's 35% fine reduction To 22nd December, 2016 Pa Buhari, if you want a NEPA PREPAID certificate come and collect it. God bless you. |
NEPA bill qualified. |
chrisxxx:That is exactly what has baffled many intelligent people for some time now. The South West invested too much of its integrity and intelligence on EMPTINESS that one would think some forces beyond explanation are responsible. But how could those forces HOODWINK so many intelligent people at the same time? Something is surely wrong somewhere. The whole story will be out someday. The risk was definitely not worth it at all. That was much like gambling. And the more they pretend that everything is going to be alright, the more Buhari messes up, with each mess up more embarrassing than the previous. |
tuale4u:Eeyaaaah! Reality is setting in gradually. So there's no miracle again? What happened to the SUPERNATURAL BODY LANGUAGE? What happened to JAILING the 'LOOTERS' to fund the BUDGET? So it's now 2018 deadline ehn? What happened to 'ZERO BUDGETING' of 2016? What about the miraculous 'IGR' by the miracle workers imported from LIRS? |
Great. Unfortunately for us in Nigeria, our current government cannot link the global events with the economic downturn so they can put forward better strategies to confront it headlong. Instead, they are isolating the situation from the world occurrence by pushing extreme propaganda on the last government. While governments, corporates, start-ups and workers globally are tasking their brains and strategizing in various think tanks, the CHANGE people in Nigeria are busy doing nothing productive only pointing backwards unrelentingly. For someone in Nigeria therefore, Masiyiwa's strategy will have to be matched with RAW native intelligence to be able to pull through. |
MDDang1:The senate will get to the bottom of this mess after due investigation. Nigeria is governed by laws not by the whims of one man. By refusing to fraudulently CHANGE THE COUNTRY'S BUDGET, the senate has shown clearly that they are up to the task with their oversight FUNCTION. They are not a rubber-stamp ASSEMBLY. Where the executive and the legislature are in an accord as you mention, Buhari would have listened to Saraki's advice of withdrawing the budget LEGALLY instead of going ahead to publish the fraud on the Budget Office's website thereby entrenching the FRAUD further. Saraki even had to go see Buhari on the issue, and there's a limit to how far a chameleon can tutor its child in dancing. If he had acquiescence, the same unethical fellows would have continued their media trial, telling us that it was Saraki who did the FRAUD - Pa Bisi Akande already went to town with such tales. Shame on you people. It's now very evident that you are not interested in fighting corruption but to set-up a draconian society. Everything Buhari does you always want people to support without questioning. But many Nigerians won't worship your god with you. |
MDDang1:You are pathetic. Buhari has just committed fraud. It's an impeachable offense. He just dug his own hole. The senate is already investigating. Buhari answers to the National Assembly. They have the POWER OF THE PURSE (appropriation/budget). They aslo have the POWER OF IMPEACHMENT. |
onojiwizardgmailcom:They don't know how the stock markets work. Their best brain (Professor Oshinbajo) said they couldn't care about portfolio investors. Instead, they want to 'lift millions out of poverty' with 5000 naira monthly stipend. |
