i heard Stanbic has some good interest rates for FD so i wanted investing 100k which is to yield 7 percent interest rate, but their account opening policy is not people friendly so i cant open an account with them, Please which other bank in Nigeria has good rates for Fixed deposit?
I just opened with Stanbic and didn't experience any problems. Only that they have to physically verify your residential address. I actually like that.

what does it take to get a licensed gun. if the bad guys can own a gun why can't good people own too. how can ur fellow man come to Intimidate you at night because he is carrying gun.
operation own a licensed gun for self defence since our police are not leaving up to expectation
Nigeria is a messed up country. If you have the means, you should get yourself a good gun, licensed or not. And keep sharp machetes around. The right to life is fundamental and non-negotiable. We do not really have police in Nigeria. We are on our own.

PoliticsRe: Names Of Those Who Made 2nd Ministerial List - The Cable by poseidon12: 8:21am On Oct 13, 2015

Hmmm.

So after making one of his inlaws his chief of staff, Okorocha has succeeded in pushing another of his inlaw as minister nominee.
Its only a stranger dat doesnt know what Imolites are suffering in the hands of this crook called Rochas.
A government of the inlaws, by the cousins and for the nephews.

By the way, I thought Buhari once said dat governors will not appoint his ministers for him. I am still wondering where he knew Prof. Anwuka from? Or even Eric Osagie of Edo state.
This Bubu can lie for Africa!
Imo people are getting the government they deserve. They voted him in twice.
PoliticsRe: ‘we Kidnapped Falae To Get Money To Celebrate Salah’ -suspects by poseidon12: 8:00am On Oct 13, 2015
Great job by the DSS. This is the kind of job they should focus on; investigative work to catch kidnappers, terrorists, and other criminals. They should stay away from partisan politics or claiming to be fighting corruption. Mr. Daura I hope you are listening.
PoliticsRe: Senate Under Pressure Over Ngige, Amaechi, Shittu by poseidon12: 8:55am On Oct 12, 2015
OnankpaBa:
“The tradition of two senators having to endorse a ministerial nominee is not sacrosanct and can be waived, if a nominee passes other criteria.”
First off, I think a president should be allowed the freedom to select the people he thinks would help him achieve his goals for the country. After all, by their votes, the people have shown they have confidence in the president. So I think Amaechi should be approved by the senate.
But are you really proud of what he did in Rivers State as governor with the huge resources at his disposal? Do you really believe he will perform as a minister when he could not perform as a governor? And he is not even humble enough to go to his state's commission of enquiry to defend allegations of corruption against him.
I have no confidence in this regime of Buhari. I hope I will be proved wrong.

Nice one, it shows clearly that Sekibo has no say in Ameachi's case. Ameachi will become a minister. That am sure of. Not even Wike can stop him or Sekibo.

It is good to see Nigerians finally sober, circumspect and patriotic in attending to grave national issues. That is the beauty of democracy. It elevates the thinking. Now we can stop playing politics and face the crises squarely.
I hope you had this same view during GEJ's administration.

PoliticsRe: Falae: Yoruba Leaders Threaten Secession From Nigeria If… by poseidon12: 11:48pm On Oct 08, 2015
Restructuring Nigeria into a truly federal system would be the beginning of the solution to our problems of underdevelopment and insecurity. Pressure needs to be put on Buhari to implement the recommendations of the national conference. Nigerians from the different ethnic nationalities met and agreed on restructuring. Since Nigeria belongs to us all, Buhari has no right to discard that report.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Must Be Screened If He'll Be The Petroleum Minister - Senators by poseidon12: 7:00am On Oct 06, 2015
Vatsyayana:
President Buhari has sworn to the oath of office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As far as the Constitution is concerned he is the head of the executive cabinet by operation of law. He is the uncommandable commander of the executive arm of govt. No other arm of govt has the legitimate power to screen him for opting for the petroleum ministry. Afterall he has been declared the head of cabinet since may 29. All his powers, including his discretionary powers such as this, have become exercisable since then.
I guess in your mind he has the power to do anything he wants in Nigeria, right? So, may be we don't need the senate and house of representatives, right?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Must Be Screened If He'll Be The Petroleum Minister - Senators by poseidon12: 6:55am On Oct 06, 2015
damton:
Sometimes, I wonder if our senators understand the need to setting priorities. I don't know if it is necessary for The president to appear before the house. Hope this does not have any political undertone because that will be detrimental to the whole screening process. Who knows, perhaps the screening could lead to another bout of boxing fight.
Is the president above the law of the land? Why would he not appear before the house just as the other nominees? At least to explain why he should be oil minister. We should not allow any dictatorship in this country anymore.

Please do 'the needful' by reporting OBJ corruption to UK authority so that he can be jailed as well.

I really doubt all these corruption allegations against OBJ because of the confidence he displays internationally. It will be a good development for him to be jailed if he has stolen our money.
We Nigerians can be naive sometimes. The UK is not necessarily after corrupt Nigerians. They are only after those that have committed crime in the UK. Crime like laundering money through the UK. Same with the U.S..
So even if you are very corrupt in Nigeria, as long as you are smart enough to avoid laundering your loot through the UK, you are free from their hold.
Nigeria as a sovereign nation should live up to its responsibility and prosecute corrupt Nigerians.
So that the UK is not after OBJ does not mean he is not corrupt. Discerning Nigerians know that he is very corrupt. Otherwise how come he became suddenly very rich as president. Yet he was almost bankrupt just before he became president.

PoliticsRe: Buhari’s List Not Worth The Wait, He Should Have Submitted On May 29 – Odumakin by poseidon12: 12:12am On Oct 03, 2015
brixton:
When one critics Buhari, he is labelled a wailer, attention seeker or GEJ's bitter loser... First and foremost, Nigeria belongs to all of us and no amount of intimidation can stop us from asking questions where/when ever the need arises. Common sense will tell an average Buharist that we already wasted 4months of messiah Bubu' tenure. Instead of them to demand accountability, they will rather talk down on any perceived opposition to their 1980s economics...

Nigeria is no longer on the list of most developing countries!! Thanks to Buhari' auto pilot rule!!!
Don't mind the knuckle heads. A year from now the same blind supporters would turn biggest critics after their eyes open. Refer to the stone throwers in Kwara State.

PoliticsRe: At Last, President Buhari’s Cabinet List Out Wednesday - ThisDay by poseidon12: 6:13pm On Sep 27, 2015
I think we should be fed up by now with this Buhari's list of ministers. There is no reason in the world why the list of ministers should be secret. This is 2015 and not 1984. And ministers should have been all appointed by now.
The government needs to be totally transparent in its dealings.
RomanceRe: Met His Fiancee A Virgin But Got Deflowered By Another Guy by poseidon12: 9:12am On Sep 26, 2015
What's with some Nigerian guys and virginity? Is the guy a Virgin too? If not then he has no moral right to be expecting his girlfriend to be a Virgin. If he loves the girl he should go ahead and marry her. If not, he should move on.
The girl got involved with the other guy because she was starved of sex.
PoliticsRe: Fulani Herdsmen Working For Boko Haram – Falae by poseidon12: 11:40pm On Sep 25, 2015
HungerBAD:
There is something fishy about this whole kidnap thing.

I do agree he was kidnapped, but the intelligence and how this whole operation was carried out, to me seems more sophisticated than what a fulani cattle handler can pull.

The phoning.

The every 4 hours tactical maneuvers.

The way the ransom was paid.

How he was dropped off at Owo.

Everything shows an organized setting here, that goes beyond people, who ordinarily are nomads.
I also don't believe that these people are Fulani herdsmen. They may have dressed as herdsmen as a camouflage. They might be connected to Boko haram as the Chief suggested. We are in trouble in this country.
PoliticsRe: CBN Boss, Emefiele May Resign Over Buhari’s Order To Change Colour Of naira note by poseidon12: 4:25pm On Sep 24, 2015
If it is true that they want to change the color of the naira, I think I would support that. I don't see why the CBN governor would be against that. That would be one of the tools to fight corruption as it would expose those that have hidden piles of cash in their homes.
But these days, corrupt Nigerians are hiding most of their loots in dollars. So this will only catch a few bad guys.
As for lack of economic policy direction, I am not surprised. As far as economic development is concerned, I don't expect that Buhari govt will go far. I hope I'm wrong.

So you expect a Nigerian that lost election to accept that voting took place as it ought to be? Accreditation was to commence 8am and Oshiomhole arrived after 12 noon. And this is after he caused a postponement earlier. He really contributed to the crisis.
