perfect08: Good day to the gurus in the house, I came across this thread while searching for solution for my current challenge. I read through this thread and I really appreciate the info on this thread.

I was given an unconditional offer by UCL for September 2014 Entry, My CAS has been sent to me few days ago and I have started the online application. I also have Sponsorship letter from the federal government accepting responsibilities for the course fee and living expenses.
But my challenge is this, I went to IOM office Abuja on monday to conduct the TB test, I did the X-ray but the doctor was not satisfied with the result hence the need for a sputum test. The result of this test will not be ready until 15th September. This means I cant submit my application before this date. My questions are:
1. Can I still apply for the Visa on 15th September given the the programme starts on 22nd September?
2. If so, Which center will be faster in such state?
3. My CAS states that my latest date of acceptance is 10/10/2014, does that mean I can still make it after the 22nd Resumption date.

Please gurus, advice me on what to do because this issue has been hunting me throughout the week.

Go and do the test at another UKBA recommended hospital. spending about N20k is far better than loosing the sponsorship.

^^The award for this year- September, 2014 admission was done last year. 2015/16 award opens any moment from now.

^^You have to be nominated by FSB to get the award; no short-cut. Yeah, FSB selection is based on Federal character 'ish', but there is still some level of credibility in their selection. I attended the interview in 2012 and I narrowly missed the award partly due to my fault! I know friends who were awarded back then and are studying in the UK now... Just do your best and hope for the best. This year na war: "It's either I win the award, or I win the award" nothing less.

My ATAS application was approved today. I however, noticed an error in the passport expiry date 12/06/2013 instead of 12/06/2018. Every other information is correct. I dont know what to do. Can this affect my visa application? Should I start a fresh ATAS application? I don't even know if it's my error or theirs. Has this happened to anyone else?

Mail them to point out the error you noticed on your ATAS certificate, they will rectify it within few weeks...

All Engineers are meant to be problem solvers; Agricultural Engineers inclusive. However, the Engineering educational curriculum in Nigeria is not well balanced in terms of practical and theory, hence the lag in our national development.
If your passion lies with Engineering and agric, go on to study Agric & Environmental Engrg. Try to develop yourself, practical-wise, while pursuing your degree. Sky will be your limit

You probably do not know much or anything about the course. Just pick up the standard curricula of both courses to compare and contrast.

jkels: u wouldn't get Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. its mostly Agricultural and BioResources Engineering. thats better. anyways mst universities now call it ABE

Don't say what you know not; OAU, UI, Markurdi offer the course as Agric & Environmental Engineering, so does many other universities.

It's a good course, but it seems it's not so valued in Nigeria.
Find a university where they offer the course as Agric & Environmental Engrg., probably OAU or UI. Studying in such university broadens your career prospect.
However, if you have option(s) in other Engineering disciplines, go for the other option(s). It all depends on your career goal.
