Good morning everyone. I'm very new here. I'm a registered nurse working here in Nigeria. I plan relocating to the UK via the Healthcare assistant visa, then finish up my OSCE in the UK and get my RN PIN to practice as Band 5 Nurse. Please has anyone here ever tried this route before? If yes, how feasible is it? I'm not in a haste to leave Nigeria, as I work in an oil company.

I just wanna be sure that I'm making the right decision, don't wanna be suck in another man's land. All suggestion would really be appreciated.

My dear let me also advise you for another alternative,if you have money.I just apply for a One year Masters degree program in uk with a cheaper tuition fee.Use the route and enter UK, while doing the Masters,then write your OSCE and get your PIN,then switch from student visa to working visa there in uk.and I believe you can easily get Nurse job there, because most employers now prefer overseas nurses that are already in Uk.so if you couldn't get health assistant job offer from here in Nigeria,then try use study route.Only if you can afford it.

Course duration: 2 years
International student fee: £9000 (each year)
You are required to pay £5000 deposit once you receive a conditional offer from the school.
You are also required to do a qualification check which will cost about £94.

Thanks for your response sir.But from the little i understand there for the Duration is that, Someone can study Masters in public health in that university for ONE YEAR,but Internship is another ONE YEAR which is Optional, meaning that is not compulsory.So,I understand that someone can do the program for just ONE YEAR.Meanwhile,am asking for my Wife,whom is a Registered Nurse here in Nigeria.But if is a ONE YEAR program and she get admission,can i apply Visa with her as her dependent and be successful?.

I was given April 6th deadline and I made my payment today. Anybody with valuable information about CAS processing and what I need to prepare for next should please share with me.

There are several universities in the that offer master's programs in adult nursing. Here are some:

Coventry University
Birmingham City University: £4,000 deposit
University of West London: A minimum of 50% of your fees
University of Greenwich: £3,000 deposit
University of Hertfordshire: £5,000 deposit prior to registration

Be careful about choosing a low tuition deposit because some schools might ask you to pay a hefty additional fee before registration.

Check Roehampton University, a friend got an offer from them this morning & the deposit in the offer is 2500... Their instalment plan is up to 5times

Nothing much I know of asides better remuneration, better standard of living, healthy work load for Medical personnel.


I am not a nurse though, but I know nurses earn well in Australia without having to do 100hr shift per week.

I was telling my junior colleagues at work that it's shameful that I can not get free or even subsidized viewing of Premier league in the very country where it is domicile.

They all concurred and said they heard its almost next to nothing, the price for cable TV to watch games.


Well I didn't tell them I stream all live matches on my laptop, I simply use HDMI cord and watch on my Tv. No be me my village people go send back because these people and gossip na bread and butter .


The UK is a stingy, unfair and hypocritical system.

Some days I wake up and literally want to run to Australia or Canada. Strength to write exams never dey, the day morale falls on me, I dust my clinical texts.

Please Scholarship Derby University wrote at site for people that are applying with First Class is it for real?.There is one of 11,000pounds and one of 5,000pounds.

a. You can use your bank statement or your parents’ bank statement to show your funds (tuition fees + maintenance).
The money must be kept in the account for at least 28 days before application; the end of the 28 days must not be older than 31 days before your application.
Note: Your application date is the date of your online submission, not your biometrics date.
The only family members that can sponsor you (give you their account statement to use) are your parents or legal guardian(s).
If using your parents' account(s), you need your birth certificate which has your parents' name as your parents to prove your relationship to them.
Note: You can only use your partner’s money if your partner is present in the UK or applying at the same time as you.

If using your guardian's statement, you need to include a court document appointing the person as your guardian. This guardian must have been appointed by the court when you were below 18 years.
Note 1: If your funds are held in an account that is not in £, the ECO will convert the funds in your account using the exchange on the day of your online application as calculated on: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/
Note 2: You cannot use overdrafts, bitcoin savings, stocks and shares, pensions, bank accounts that are not regulated by the financial regulatory body in the country you’re applying from or bank accounts that don’t use electronic record keeping.
Note 3: You can use current accounts, deposit accounts, savings accounts, pension savings, investment accounts.
Note 4: When paying your visa/HIS fees, your bank will not use Oanda rates. Budget for black market rates.
Note 5: Please leave your funds in your account till you get your visa to avoid stories that touch. If it is used to pay your fees, you must have the receipt ready incase the ECO requests for a fresh bank account statement covering longer periods.
Note 6: Prepare for an interview even if the possibility is low so that you are ready for any eventuality.

b. You can also submit a sponsorship letter (see sample here: https://docs.gre.ac.uk/rep/sas/example-sponsorship-letter ) if you're sponsored by
i. Her Majesty’s (UK) Government
ii. The applicant’s home (Nigerian, in this case) government
iii. the British Council
iv. an international organisation eg. UNICEF, UN, WHO etc.
v. an international company (a company that actively operates in 2 or more countries)
vii. a university (eg. The university where you will be studying).
viii. a UK independent school.

c. Loan letter, if you are in receipt of an educational loan. The loan must be in your name. See link for details: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants
Note: The loan letter must confirm that there are no conditions on release of the loan funds other than a successful application to study.
It must also confirm that the funds will be available to you, or paid directly to the sponsor, before you begin your course.

8. Consent letter: You'll also need a letter from your parent(s) or guardian that states that they consent to you using the funds in the account for which evidence has been submitted. This is only applicable if using their bank statements. Exactly; like your life depends on it o. My husband got about 75unfortunate messages but aced his second and third interview, rejected some invites eventually. One thing that I know helped him was a group ppl in his profession formed. He saw two SI samples and he was able to write different ones based on person specification. We did all the applications together so I understand how depressing those unfortunate messages can be. In all, NEVER GIVE UP.
