thebosstrevor1: Wouldn't not be hilarious after all the restructuring that nothing still works because the people and the politicians have failed to also restructure their own mind and mentality of governance It will work better bro.. Take for instance, when the issue of Patani was on, north immediately saw it as movement against the north. That way, voices went down and nothing came out of. As incompetent as Buhari is, u cant hold him accountable becus north will cry. If southern leader is there, same thing. But when we have system that works based on common interest based nation such as a yoruba nation, they will have no choice than to hold the leader managing the yoruba nation accountable. To build a great nation bro, leaders must be held accountable. We have a system where politicians are not held accountable and that is why they misbehave and go free. Even corruption fight is seen from ethnic point of view. It makes no sense. It will work better bro. I can assure u that. Even great writes of other countries noted that the Amalgamation by the British was a terrible mistake done to the black race. It messed up everything bro. It shocks me that till date, we have refused to fix that issue. Europeans understood this, they broke them selves up into nations. And those that allowed multiple nations granted massive freedom to prevent ethnic domination. When u have Nigeria's system, people will pay more attention to ethnic domination over good governance. At the end, only the political class are enjoying it. Nations in Nigeria should be able to build their international airport and link to outside world without needing permission from another ethnic group. That is ethnic domination . It makes issue worse. Nations in Nigeria should be able to do direct business with other nations, build their rail system, manage their electricity, run their resources, etc without waiting for approval from other ethnic groups. These things breed competition and competition breeds development. |

I encourage all southerners, for the sake of your kids and future of the kids, never allow this their game to work again. A united southern Nigeria will be freed from the north. North is our problem. Get them out of the way and let them run their Somalia of a country and southern Nigeria will flow. Southern Nigeria will allow all regions to manage their own resources as they wish. Southern Nigeria has enough human resources to develop. Give us 50 years of self rule and we shall become another Giant. EVERYTHING north means backwardness. Vaughanlanrewaj: Hmm. I repeat. Don't take these governors demand for restructuring serious until they themselves restructure their states .
For Senator Lawan, I say God bless you sir. Most of these Southern states governors are being hypocritical, especially those oil producing southern states robbing oil producing communities of the payment meant for direct interventions in their communities.
Cross Rivers State went through hell to get a substantive Chief Judge and Oyo state governor who sacked all elected Chairmen of 33 LGAs in one fell swoop at the stroke of a pen being among those Southern states governors calling for restructuring is an insult !
Why on earth will Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo and Delta states be leading in unemployment rate in the country despite all the billions they recieve as oil derivation funds? Is that wastage of resources caused by restructuring at the federal government level too.
Most of these states still run governance only from their state capitals and focus most of the development on the capitals leaving out other places. It happened during the tenure of HE Ibikunle Amosun who focused only on Abeokuta and literally left the other parts of Ogun state!
These governors can't even stand the LGAs yet they want to bully FG. They should embrace restructuring FIRST and as a matter of fact, should show first that they can restructure.
All other parts of the same state need development and there should be strong laws in place to compel even development at state levels . Governors should build secretariats in each of the Senate district and physically work shifts and rotate their offices quarterly among each of the 3 senatorial districts.
In Lagos, the governor work shifts between Marina on the Island and Alausa in Ikeja and I think he should have another office in Badagry to make it 3 . God bless Nigeria. Oga, leave us like that. Let us restrutuce first and when we get there, we will now have more reasons to hold our Governors accountable. My governor does not have access to fix security in his own state. Look at how the governor of Akwa ibom was crying becus they arrested people with Ak47 and fake military outfits and handed over to the police. Police got orders from Abuja to release them. The governor and his team tried reaching out to the central govt and no one listened. Forget it, Governors are too ceremonial and only must bow to central govt. That is rubbish. The Governors are closer to the people. And must have more control. We don't want Governors ass licking central govt. No country runs this type of our system of govt ever. It is the most useless system. My Governor needs approval from Abuja before he can do many things. We need approval from Abuja before we can build international Airport and link them out to the world. Total rubbish. Abuja will deny u that becus of ethnic games. We want control of our electricity, water, railway, security, economy, loans, etc. We don't want this useless system where FG will take loan, and sight the projects in one region and ask all the regions to pay. Oga, we must end this rubbish. This is pure rubbish. No county runs this type of useless system of govt. It can't last o. If we fail to do it, surely, the country will slip into chaos. Look at the security problems everywhere. States are even scared of enforcing anti grazing ban. Do u know why? Becus the security is controlled by the central govt. States can't even execute their own laws. U don't know how helpless our Governors are. They are merely ceremonial heads o. It is why most of them just decided to sit and enjoy the money in it since they can't even do much without taking permission from Abuja and that Abuja will frustrate you. |

The day I knew we are in trouble in this country was the day I went to the state HQ of the NCS in Apapa during Buhari's first tenure. Every where I turned to, there was a Bala, Usman, Halil, Dikko Yahaya et al waiting to attend to me. I heaved a small sigh of relief when I got to a section where the only thing they do is to sit on their asses and twiddle their thumbs. In this section i finally saw a Bayo and Ifeoma. In every department, 4 out of 5 officers are Northerners, and in some sections, ALL the officers are northerners. My mind boggled.
I saw the same thing when I went to the National HQ of the same NCS in Wuse 3 in 2018. In whole sections the officers were Northerners but it was a bit better here because there were more non-northerners are one moved up the rank and file. Still yet, the lopsided federal representation was glaring. Some of these officers can even write a simple statement and the one who attended to me gave me pen and paper to write his report for him after he asked me the correct spellings of some words a couple of times and i gave him. Last last he handed the paper to me and asked me to kukuma continue. I left what I came for to be doing secretary.
Let us be guided. We are in deep shït. Bro, every northerner has the mindset of war, domination, conquest. We are in deep shit and sincerely, southerners must as a matter of urgency, rise up to demand for a restructured Nigeria. |

It is crystal clear Nigeria needs help in this area, owing to the fact that it was publicized globally that Nigeria begged the US to move it's Africa Mission base from Germany down to the theater of war.
I keep saying it; employ 3 million youths into the Armed Forces. Our Security forces are over stretched. All of u keep repeating the same thing.. The solution to Nigeria is not more soldiers. More soldiers never solved any problem. If it can, it would have solved the problems in Somalia, Pakistan, etc with massive USA soldiers. Rossinkup: Playing to the gallery for political expediency is not the preserve of black politicians. Get rid of your racial self-loathing.
Plus your mind works in a far too simplistic way.
''After decades of all these, why haven't we sat down to refix things?''
You think it takes mere decades to undo the damage done, but it doesn't.
It takes a CENTURY OR MORE.
And it is not something that will be noticeable to you as it happens.
But development IS happening.
A Lagosian from the 1980s will not recognise the Lagos of today, with things like the BRT system and its air-conditioned public buses with USB connectivity, ambulances you can call on your phone, flyovers everywhere, the transformation of Lekki and the island, the ferry system. New roads being built with sidewalks and covered drains. Shopping malls everywhere, high speed rail service to Ibadan, Abeokuta etc, with city-wide rail services about to be commissioned. A LOT has changed in Lagos.
Is it cities like Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, Abakaliki, Nnewi, and Awka?
These places were VILLAGES with mud huts in the 1980s. I used to pass through them.
Go there today. Shopping malls, banks, stadiums, conference centres, flyovers, expressways, universities, major hospitals. A total transformation.
There was nothing like Abuja in the 80s. It was just a bush with some few buildings. Today it is one of Africa's most beautiful cities.
So Nigeria is developing.
America has been independent for 300+ years. UK 600 years. Nigeria merely 60. Give them time. Some countries gained independence same time with us or around same time.. Singapore is one of them, Malaysia is another. Some countries discovered oil same around time we did and used it to transform their country but we used ours to loot away in Europe. Bro, all these things you mentioned aren't development. Air conditioner busses. Lol The people don't have security, the people don't have access to proper health care, the people don't have good roads as terrible roads are littered across the country, the people don't have electricity as generator is extremely common, the people dig bore holes etc. These are what development is and not building here and there. Some countries in similar situations like ours have gone a great level to fix these things within 60 years. Pls, in Dubai alone, Nigerian politicians own over 400 million properties. Aside other cities o, aside other countries, aside those not seen. Pls we didn't need heaven to fall for a typical black man to have sense regarding looting his country btyr dry. Rossinkup: The whites defeated EVERYONE THEY FACED. Indians, Arabs, Native Americans, Chinese, Africans, you name it.
The game-changer was GUNPOWDER, plus European moral emptiness and greed.
They learnt from the Chinese how to mix natural ingredients to make gunpowder.
The Chinese had been using the substance for religious ceremonies.
The noise of explosions sounded like a return of the gods.
There was limited military use in 'primitive' firelances.
At this time, Europe was the poorest region on Earth.
They must have felt the only way to change that, was to go on a killing and looting spree of the world.
But how could they? Every nation used bows and arrows and shields and swords, and had done so for THOUSANDS of years.
The discovery of gunpowder was manna from heaven for the Europeans.
For them, it was their route out of poverty.
They used it to make guns and bombs that could kill masses of people in no time.
This weapon changed EVERYTHING.
They suddenly had the power over every other race and people, which they never had prior.
The rest is history.
Ethiopia was invaded and occupied by Italy for decades. The Italians massacred thousands and even used chemical weapons against them in several conflicts. They later imposed European administrative systems, disrupting the original systems. That is why the Ethiopian parliamentary session looks like the ones in Rome.
Nevertheless, Ethiopia's socio-cultural systems have not been as severely eroded as Nigeria's, and you can see it when you visit.
Their life expectancy is 67 compared to Nigeria's 54.
They are also the 2nd or 3rd fastest growing economy in the world.

Rossinkup: But THIS was the situation BEFORE colonialism:
''With its mathematical layout and earthworks longer than the Great Wall of China, Benin City was one of the best planned cities in the world when London was a place of ‘thievery and murder’.'' The Benin empire was one of the oldest and most highly developed states in west Africa, dating back to the 11th century.
The Guinness Book of Records (1974 edition) described the walls of Benin City and its surrounding kingdom as the world’s largest earthworks carried out prior to the mechanical era. According to estimates by the New Scientist’s Fred Pearce, Benin City’s walls were at one point “four times longer than the Great Wall of China, and consumed a hundred times more material than the Great Pyramid of Cheops”.
Benin City was also one of the first cities to have a semblance of street lighting. Huge metal lamps, many feet high, were built and placed around the city, especially near the king’s palace. Fuelled by palm oil, their burning wicks were lit at night to provide illumination for traffic to and from the palace.
When the Portuguese first “discovered” the city in 1485, they were stunned to find this vast kingdom made of hundreds of interlocked cities and villages in the middle of the African jungle. They called it the “Great City of Benin”, at a time when there were hardly any other places in Africa the Europeans acknowledged as a city. Indeed, they classified Benin City as one of the most beautiful and best planned cities in the world.
In 1691, the Portuguese ship captain Lourenco Pinto observed: “Great Benin, where the king resides, is larger than Lisbon; all the streets run straight and as far as the eye can see. The houses are large, especially that of the king, which is richly decorated and has fine columns. The city is wealthy and industrious. It is so well governed that theft is unknown and the people live in such security that they have no doors to their houses.”
In contrast, London at the same time is described by Bruce Holsinger, professor of English at the University of Virginia, as being a city of “thievery, prostitution, murder, bribery and a thriving black market made the medieval city ripe for exploitation by those with a skill for the quick blade or picking a pocket”.
https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2016/mar/18/story-of-cities-5-benin-city-edo-nigeria-mighty-medieval-capital-lost-without-trace
So if the ABOVE described PRECOLONIAL Africa, then, if you had a working brain, you would link the current decline in standards to the entry of external powerful forces that disrupted a working system, by forcing the populations to abandon those systems and embrace those practised in Europe.
So when things go wrong in the new imported systems, you don't go calling the people 'inferior' or blaming their skin colour, because they are not expert at 'copy and paste'.
Everything changed with colonialism. The way we hold our leaders accountable changed.
In the Oyo empire, if a king was found to be corrupt, he was ORDERED by his council (the Oyo Mesi) to commit suicide or go on exile.
We had real checks and balances that worked for thousands of years.
Today, what system do we practice? One that simply holds you to harmless bible oaths.
Imported, harmless rubbish.
Why would corruption not thrive?
Answer me that question.
So what YOU should be doing, if you were a real African intellectual as opposed to a self-hating coon who thinks he is 'inferior', is calling for political and social re-engineering of the people, to draw on our ancient strengths, and abandon foreign solutions.
You would not see it as ''blaming whites for our problems'', but as extricating blacks from theirs. The question is why did we have all that and still got defeated by the same whites? We overrated the so called development we had. If the development was that sophisticated, we would have been able to defend the aggressors. Also, Ethiopia wasn't colonized like we were. So, why aren't they different? |

Rossinkup: There are even more Asians than blacks in those western countries, so does that also prove to your dumb head that Asians are 'inferior' to whites?
See, you have a low IQ, so you cannot reason beyond a 4 year old's intellect.
''Oh mummy. Those people are yellow and they are poor. Those other ones are white and they are rich. Therefore the white colour is better than the yellow colour! Oh look! The black people are so poor. Is that why they are black, mummy? Can you please change me to colour white mummy!''
That's it. toddler logic. How does one debate a person like you? It's impossible.
How many black nations have you visited out of the 60 or so in existence?
My guess is LESS THAN 3.
Beyond the fact that they are developing nations, you haven't the slightest clue about their current state, their rate of progress and development, their economic growth rates, their history, their leadership, and whatever has led them to their current situation. All you see is ''black = bad'' and ''white = good''.
So how does one debate a toddler like you?
It is impossible. I said, engage me in a dabate. Since u are intelligent, u may win me over, right? I can assure that I will give you proper account. Never ever blame colonialism. We have all we need to develop but we are dam greedy. We steal and loot away our own resources to buy properties in Dubai, London, Paris, while our people lack health care. Did a white man put guy on our heads and asked us to loot? Over 60 years, blacks are still blaming colonialism when there were many countries in the same situation as ours decades ago, in fact, we looked more promising than they were, but today, they are far ahead. Why? They focused on building their nations with their resources while we focused on looting. Rubbish. And like I said, people like you who easily resort to abusive words are not smart at all. Minjim: Our leaders will not escape this justice.
The innocent souls they killed for their political ambition will hunt down them down Well, it won't. They live longer sef. Obasanjor, Atiku, Buhari, Gowon, etc are all alive and flexing. Bro, only blacks leave their fight to their gods Until blacks are ready to fight, we are wasting our time hoping that one God helps us to fight. |

Joysticks: The police will say'we are on top of the situation' They are always reactive to situation. Oga, what would have done? That lady was probably killed when that call went off. I followed the story, that wicked guy must have killed her when he noticed that she put a call out. I thought they said his handle is on nairaland. He is such a wicked human. I don't rate humans at all. Many people on this forum are even killers. Some killed last night. Many on ur social media are killers who just killed few minutes ago. That is why I trust only my self and no one else. Crazy world. |

AbaLion: An identified civil servant working in a top Government's executive office could stand surety for a radical islamic extremist turned Bokoharam terrorist founder, in same manner a serving senator stood surety for an IPOB terrorist founder. From the North to the East, these two terrorists groups have been causing untold destructions, pains, deaths, catastrophes of unquantifiable proportions to lives and properties of the Nigerian people. It's higly satanical that some highly placed individuals in the corridors of power are sympathetic to extremist ideologies for religious or ethnic reasons at the detriment of the country. I think I would have to approach the court of law for an injunction to stop the Government deducting my taxes and other levies. My taxes cannot be used to pay salaries of extremist sympathizers in government institutions.
-Lion Demanding for my own nation is not a crime. It is part of the law Nigeria signed with UN. There was nothing like Nigeria before the greedy British empire merged the nations with different ideas together. Since then, till date, Nigeria has not solved ordinary electricity problem. |

Throwback: Barrack training for Northern youths?
When did the military recruit them for training?
I think it is time Nigerians get to know what happens inside our military barracks and if they serve a national purpose or a sectional purpose. hahahahahaahaha, Nigeria military and police are sectional na. Due to the number of states that North has which is more than southern Nigeria, they tend to have more men in the military and police. Met a civil defense officer, a yoruba man, he was driving okada, we got talking one day where i met him, he told me that the main weapons of the country is in the hands of the north. lol. If u check very well, most of the training facilities of our top security arms are in the north. In fact, u enter many FG agencies for Abuja, u may assume that u are in the north North really messed southern Nigeria up. How the most intelligent region allowed them selves to be messed up like this beats my imagination. |
