Politics / Nigeria And China Sign $23bn Deal For Three Refineries by princekevo(m): 10:37am On May 15, 2010
Nigeria's state-run oil firm NNPC and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) have signed a $23bn (£16bn; 18bn euros) deal.

The two will jointly seek financing and credits from Chinese authorities and banks to build three refineries and a fuel complex in Nigeria.

The project would add 750,000 barrels per day of extra refining capacity.

NNPC hopes the construction of new refineries will stem the flood of imported refined products into Nigeria.

'Deepen relationships'

Nigeria is the world's 12th-largest oil producer and the eighth-largest oil exporter.

But the country imports roughly 85% of its fuel needs because of the disrepair and mismanagement of its four state-owned refineries.

"We are about to deepen the existing technical and commercial relationships between China and Nigeria through the signing of a memorandum of understanding," said Shehu Ladan, head of NNPC.

The three refineries will be built in Bayelsa, Kogi and Lagos states, while a location has to be confirmed for the petrochemicals complex.

The Nigerian government has said that foreign companies must invest in developing Nigeria's infrastructure and economy first, before they can benefit from its oil and gas exports
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/10116945.stm

From the above article, am forced to ask what happened to the four old refinaries, the vary once that OBJ himself once commissioned and what will become of them when this new onces are being built.

All the people who criticized the decision of the Nigerian firm to offer employment to the Indian guy should shut the phuck up! Yes. I said it.

This is just a simple reason why some foreign companies might not wanna hire a Nigerian, for you to come to an open forum and tell every one that does not support you opinion to shut their fuc.k up. Not even when you have less clue of what they are talking about. No one is against an American, British, European nor Australian coming to work in Nigeria as an expatriate. The world is a global village we know and i believe the game of international relationship should be a game of give and take. People raised this issues becoz this guy is an Indian, an Asian. Any one who has lived in Asia here will tell you how selfish the Asian government are in terms of giving jobs to foreigners, not even a Nigerian.

Average Nigerian students in US, UK,Europes, Australia can work while studying. How many Nigerian students studying in Asia are allowed work, even those under MBA? You guys said our educational system is so bad, agreed, but we have Nigerians graduates from universities in India and other Asian countries. How many of them are being employed in these countries after graduation? A Friend of mine finshed his MBA here last year, luckily he had a closed one who offered her an appointment, but the immigration refused to approve his working visa. They asked him to leave the country back to his country to work.

I don't know where you have travelled in Asia here, but If those who studied here in Asia are being sent back home to go and work in their country where the job opportunities are limited, would you expect us to clap for the same Asians coming to contend with Nigerians on the lil jobs available in the country.

But then, in a lawless nation where people who share your mentality are in the majority, I guess we will never move forward.
My brother what are we to ecxpect in country where even a senator said he will never respect any law that is contrary to the laws of his religion. Meaning, he will never obey Nigerian constitution that made him a senator.
It pains me that the Federal government pays such fools with my money in the name of democrazy.

It neither Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa etc that made the Nigerian politicians the way they are- It is Nigeria that made them that way, a nation of no real identity, root, identifying culture, so what you get is every manliness and harry figures out his/her own survival strategies.-corruption/wickedness.

In the U.K with its indigenous nations, they did not suppress Scottish, Welsh, N.Ireland or English identity in order to create a United Kingdom, rather they had promoted these identities and most  recently is the devolved powers to each of this nations to do their own things as they see fit.
But stop it today, and the United Kingdom will disappear.

Nigeria has never or will ever be one nation based on this fear of individual identity of nations. The only little chance for one Nigeria will possibly come through a confederated independent nations, where everyone is free to do their own thing based on their set values.  While maintaining a small centre. You don’t want to hear about tribe but every person you had probably ever voted in an election is from your tribe, unless your tribes man in not on the ballot paper for some reason.

I don’t like to pretend, which is a past time of most Nigerians and their comical/hypocritical dictators.

wink wink just sipping my glass of wine and saying Ezeachi spot on and congratulations to your success.
If at your age you can not say the truth and made your stance know to the public, you will carry them to the grave jst like many other Nigerians did. Plato said " We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark, but the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light". The men we have today in Nigeria are afraid of the light coz they have chose to work in darkness. They held us under one stagnant entity for their selfish interest.
Bob said 'only when you know your history you can know where u r coming from, and when you know where you are coming from before you can know where you are going'. Nigerians want the history and the past be swept under the carpet while we sheepishly walk in self deceit under One Nigeria. How long shall we continue living in this lie?

Those Nigerian youths who had the opportunity to contribute their quota in UK politice will never see the light of the day in Nigerian polity. I rather yearn for a divided Nigeria when youths like your son will be at the corner of power than One Nigeria where some toothless oldmen are hanging around the corners of power. Since independent we claimed to be One Nigeria in papers but in our hearts and acts we are divided Nigerian. You asked someone a question he/she will never answer. 'How many time he/she had voted for a presidential candidate that is not from his/her tribe'? The same people that held us under this forceful marriage are the once who agreed on the rational governement between tribes. They are the same people that believe that youths can not lead the nation. CONFUSED PEOPLE ONE A CONFUSED NATION!!!  sad sad

Good point but also a little naive sir. No company will just "employ" anybody because they are a national or Africans.
Nigeria might be 150,000,000 but we are just a brain-dead nation.

In as much as you made some important points, It will be ignorant of you saying that entire population of the country are brain dead. Let the Indian Guy post his educational qualification and experience that qualified him for the job, in 2days i will give you at least 5 Nigerian home and abroad that have more than his qualification and experience.

Our problem sir, is individual. Not government. How many commentator here has what it takes to get Sid's job and make him feel like he needs to go back to school or learn from them? No matter how good you are after going through a Nigerian institution, you always feel inferior whenever you meet other foreign professionals. It has happened to me a lot when I interacted with other engineers from India or any of these countries?

Indeed our problem is individual, becoz many Nigerians have the same inferiority complex as you jst exhibited. You don't even know the qualification of Sid, you don't know his experience, yet you have concluded within u that he is greater than you,  he has better thing to offer more than you or any average Nigerian graduate.  I studied in the same Nigeria also, i might not be in the same IT field, but with my experience under my field i strongly believe i can challenge anyone under field, be you a graduate from Harvard uni.
I have nothing personal against Sed but the same him will come to Nigeria, only to sit at the office, while the same dumb Nigerian graduate, we believe they knows nothing will be at the field doing all the technical jobs.

You cant push out the foreigners and their policy when they remain the only people who can build you bridges, sustainable and green homes; when we depend on their imported food. We will always be at their mercy until we have like 1,000,000 or more Dangotes and Adenuga's within the country.

Ok let me jst tell you what selfish Asian government does which i love so much. If you are an investor and you believe my people are not qualified to work for you, you make them qualified to work for you.
Good examples of it is wht has been happening where i live 2008. Is a gambling city with many foreign investors. Initially the foreigners took over all the higher position jobs and the average position which the locals could get was jst a table dealer becoz of their low education. But the government intervened by cutting of the foreign quotas from assistance manager and above. The Casino(investors) were left with no option but train the locals to the post of assistance manager and managers. Infact they even started sending them on 6months, 1year managerial courses on casino and gaming to make qualified. At the completion of the course you are immediately elevated to the post of Manager of assistant field manager. Today the locals has taking over the top positions of this casinos and running it effective and efficiently.

Sometime i wish our government can be as selfish as this Asian government, who places their citizens first in everything. But due to our slavery mentality we believe a coloured man can do it better than a black man.

That is Nigeria for you i thought i was the only one pondering over this. Very soon you will see people coming question your request for an autopsy. Forgeting that jst Nigeria became the affairs of Yaradua so he also became a Nigerian affairs the day he swore to uphold the Constitution as the Nigerian president.

It is the highest level of humiliation we could get from the family of yaradua, and the people around him. That our president was flown out of the country from presidential villa, and the next thing we saw after 4months was a bamboo stick rapped in our prestigious national flag out of the same presidential Villa. What would history have in record that killed our president and his condition b4 death. Abacha died, no autopsy. What we have in record and believed is one conspiracy theory of an apple giving to him by some Indian prostitutes. Now yaradua is dead, we have no official record of what actually killed him other than all the speculations and lies we got from our useless media.

This is really a clear indication that our so called leaders, their families and people around them believe that the owe Nigerian public nothing. Not even a legitmate explanation of what killed their president. It is really a big blow to the face of Nigerian public.

Yardua is not Dead!

I opened this thread in anticipation of sending him back to where he belong grin grin grin
@topic
I had no problem with yaradua, coz i strongly believe during his last days he had less opportunity to make right decision for himself. But i blame him for Surrounding himself with selfish and wicked people that put their interest above the country's progress. They made his sick body become an evil pillar and a mighty obstacle against Nigerian progress. Trust Nigerian God who always answer them in time like this(becoz we are all cowards and God himself knows it). He intervened by removing the last breath of Yaradua. I strong believe yaradua could not even sign his resignation letter, but if the selfish people around him had signed his resignation letter the same way their signed the 2009 supplimentary budget, probably yaradua would still be alive.

So if Turai his wife and all the selfish beings who benefited from his government did not have compassion on yaradua, but decided to sacrifice him in exchange of power who am i to sympathise with them?

This instead serves as a good lesson to me and to other sensible Nigerians.
1. to marry a good wife, who knows what is best for me even in my last days when i can not make the right decisions for myself.
2. always have by myside selfless people, who have my interest at heart.

This is the picture that got my attention. This is one aspect of the Islamic religion that baffles me at times. The religion, at the most critical moment of a life cycle apparently reminds the devout of futility of wealth. So, how come there are still Muslim thieves in public offices in Nigeria? I can't understand it undecided. To think that a president of Nigeria will be buried in the most ordinary of graves as shown in this picture, calls on Muslims to remember this aspect of their faith while in high office.

They are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed; the National Security Adviser, Gen. Aliyu Gusau; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai; Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema; Minister of State (Defence) Murtala Yar’Adua; former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State; and Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State.

Of the nine, the odds seem to be in the favour of Ahmed (who was described last night as a leading and experienced contender); Gen. Gusau; el-Rufai (a tested technocrat) and Ribadu.

Why are the 9 people on the favourite list all from North? Tml some hypocrites will come here to preach one Nigeria to me, and once 8years PDP leader will be at the CNN to deny PDP zoning of power to the north.

I still believe there were more to what we know abt this anullment. Considering the fact that Abiola and IBB was once best frens. The was an article
Every rational human being would ask
1. why would IBB anulled a free and fair election he organised and allowed to hold without any single reason? Let no body tell me that IBB never knew Abiola will win the election, coz even a kid on the street knew Abiola must win the election.
2. Was this evil from IBB politcal or personal?

3. If indeed they were once best frens what made their relationship gone sore that a once best fren decided to threat his old fren i such a manner knowing that MKO invested all he has laboured for in the Election?

This are jst some food for thought, until we find out the true answers to this questions we will continue to beat abt the bush.

Religion / Re: A Born Again Christian Is Not A Sinner (even If He Sins) by princekevo(m): 1:26pm On May 04, 2010
oludashmi:

Oh sorry! now I understand.

It is the case of two used plates, both dirty. One was washed but a traces of oil now found on it and the other not washed at all, dirty in and out. The two plates are dirty before the owner BUT the one that was formerly washed could need only a tissue to wipe off the small oil or just clean with a finger tip and then dip it in a clean water and it becomes new again.

But the dirty and unwashed plate needs more than that, 1. its needs to be seen a an eyesore to the kitchen, 2. a confession that the plate is dirty and needs to be washed, 3. it needs the soap, 4. sponge, 5. clean water, 6. an handkerchief. Such is the relationship between a sinner who is yet to repent and that who has repented but found himself in sin.

I hope I tried to answer you?

Well dear your answer is not biblical. Considering the parable of the Ten Virgins. The 5 lost out of the feast becoz of the were not prepare jst like a half washed dish is still unprepared to be used. Such preaching from pastors like C.O are the reason why many christians today live with sins, becoz they believe once saved  is saved forever even though they keep leaving in sin and call it a mistake. We are aware there are sins of omissions but you find out that this christians are really living in a sin of commission. The person you see as a well known sinner might repent today, sudenly die tml and will make it to heaven jst like the theif by his right hand. The so called born again christian can sin today and die tml but face the everlasting damantion jst like Judas did.

So sister, What matter is not what you were or what you have been, but what you are at the time you are being called back home.

@prince: why not leave the judgement to God

My brother God has given us his word upon which the  gospel should be based. So i dont need God to come down again to tell me what is is right or wrong.
Religion / Re: A Born Again Christian Is Not A Sinner (even If He Sins) by princekevo(m): 12:34pm On May 04, 2010
Chubiko:

For clarity sake let it be known that the difference bw a born again and a sinner is that a sinner sees sin as a way of life, a thing to be proud of but a born again sees sin as a mistake and is never proud of it but quickly goes back to plead for forgiveness. The sinner neva asks for forgiveness because its his nature.
The fact that a born again commits sin (" for whosoever says he has no sin is a liar and makes Christ a liar"wink does not make him a sinner because we are not looking at the word in real terms as xtians. It is a spiritual thing. The Adamic nature had been shed the day he was renewed, but to the other, he still wears that nature and enjoys it as you do food.

In any case i think that such issues relating to our faith as xtians should not be topics for this kind of discussion cos it opens up xtianity to ridicule by people who does nt understand the meaning thereof. It is not religion as others but a way of life and will always remain foolish to him that wants to perish.

Please i want to ask you a question based on what you put up above.
If a born again christian sined, which you call a mistake and suddenly he died or the trumpet sounds. what will be his position and that of a known sinner who suddenly died or trumpet sound?
Religion / Re: A Born Again Christian Is Not A Sinner (even If He Sins) by princekevo(m): 12:27pm On May 04, 2010
Well one of Nephew a Christ embabssy member told me something like that and tried to engage me into an arguement on this.
I dont blame Chris Oyakilomy for such deception, but i blame Nigerian Christians. Due to the evil and corrupt mind in us we prefer such preachers who will always tell us exactly what we want to hear. Jst as the bible said in the book of (2Timothy 4:3-4)
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

So am not suprised that Chris Oyakilomy can deceive his members with such gospel, coz that is what the want to hear.

I love her but i am still a student aswell,i need to finish my education before i think of marriage, thanks for your advice though,

Very true is impossible to live under £10,well she gets feed at home and her mom gives her transport fare to school, the only thing she wants is the way her mom takes over her salary.
@poster.
If indeed the woman is her real biological mother what is your problem with the issue, when u can do less or nothing to help her.

Every one is here condeming the mother as being evil, but not seeing the fact that this poor women must have spent her own youthful age working for the future of her daughter and the brother. From what the poster said, the mother brought her to UK on 4years study visa which did not jst cost her jst 10pounds. For a woman to bring her daughter over to UK, i have no doubt that she got a bigger dream for the daughter other than what the poster is presenting to us here.

Lets see the big picture here, this girl works in a place where she is being paid 900pounds a month. The mother still take care of 99% of her needs and that of the younger brother including her school fees with the same 900pounds per month. On the same fund she must be saving for their future and building a family house that in future belongs not to you and i but to the same girl and her lil brother.
Instead of you to encourage the girl to open an account and be saving the lil 10pounds she get from the mum you are trying to raise the girl against the mother who suffered to bring her abroad. The mum must have probably know her daughter very well. That some people like you might easily deceive her into spend her salaries on you.

Did it occour to you that the mother must have a better dream for her daughter b4 suffring to bring her over to UK and must be saving up for the future of the girl and the younger brother. Am begining to think that you became so obsessed with the issue becoz you could not benefit much from the 10pounds left for this girl. In all your story you did not mention to us what the girl does with the 10pound giving to her month by the mum, since the mum still take full responsibility of her needs.

So i will advice you to stay away from their family matter as long as you have confirmed to me that the woman is her biological mother and i believe that she want a better future for her daughter more than what you think you want for her. You can never tell what it takes to be 100%independent in UK  with 900pounds per month until you deceive this girl out of the mother's UK expireince.

We would like know how you got the details of thier conversation word by word. Were you your there when this conversation between mother and daughter was going on, or you made this out of what your girlfreind told you.
Am asking this to accertain the fact that your girl is telling you the truth abt the woman being her real mother, or someone one who helped her to crossover on an agreement that she would payback certain amount. A lot of this evil is goign on every where in the world now, where some ladies bring young men and women, force them into labour for some years b4 they can be free to save for themselves.

Is very difficult for a woman to use and treat her biological daughter in such manner.

As usual Okonkwo as his pentecostal cohorts display their poor level of understanding and simple comprehension of English. OBJ never said Jesus cannot conduct a free and fair election, what he said was that if Jesus came to conduct the election it would still be disputed by Nigerians which is very logical in the first place 50% of Nigerians are not even christians, muslims would even reject him as a credible umpire and if any christian should win they would say Jesus was favouring christians. OBJ was very right, the problem is with Nigerian politicians who are never ready to concede defeat. Whether the election is free and fair or not they would dispute it.

This has been the bigest problem of an average Nigerian, twisting the truth to suit their failures.
The big question here should be, was there any credible election conducted by OBJ? We all knows the answer.
The 2007 election was one the worst and most fraudulent election in the history of democracy, which OBJ hiself openly accepted on BBC as not being free and fair. He going back to CNN putting the blames now of Nigerian politicians is jst a disgrace to his age and that title, an elder statesman

My fren, you are speaking out of point. We are not talking of zoning aspa Nigerian Constitution, but PDP arrangement and Constitution which the liar OBJ was signatory to and upholded for 8years. I hate it when people can not claim responsibility for their words, but try to deny it. It woould have paid him more honore accepting the truth and need to make a change. When an old man like him can openly lie to the world, tell me how the can the world  trust an average Nigerian again.
