We all know that, she knows that, and she doesn't need you to tell her that.
And I don’t need you to tell me that I’m a mean know-it-all who tries to be overly-critical of everything. Please stop trying so hard to be offensive as far as I’m concerned. It doesn’t make you seem smart or like you’ve got one up on me. Just petty.

Here we go!
@ bolded, what is wrong with you?
Could you be any more offensive? Mr Know-it-all!

Weren't you the one who once suggested using ehuru (with its imposing nutty flavour) for jollof rice? Nke o ji wee buru curry!

With the way you go, one would think you know better.
Yeah! I wouldn't trust your judgement.
Everyone’s entitled an opinion. You don’t like it, I’m afraid that’s not my problem.

How would it be offensive when I wasn’t talking about the original poster’s take on Ofe Owerri (which I even said was commendable) but the soup in-general and the confusion in vegetable-nomenclature pertaining to it?

Chief . I am not disputing that it couldn't be a racial attack. It could be anything and it couldn't . You ask me to trust you on a video you haven't fully seen?.
Okay, assuming you are a judge and this video was played to you, would you conclude and pass judgement with just this video alone?
@bolded. I quite don't understand why we will all be quick to assume one's status in a faceless forum. That's you again jumping into conclusion.

A lot of videos trend online with different narratives, we just should do right by making sure the narratives are right.
Whatever.

You know it. May 2022 be the last year of anti-Igbo tribalism.

Trust me, it was a racial attack. It’s just that you haven’t left the shores of post-colonial Africa so of-course you’re going to be misogynistic in the face of blatant racial abuse when the shoe appears to fit in your eyes.

Get a grip, g.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yoruba food sucks.
They have their hot spots (especially where rice is concerned) and some states are a lot more varied cuisine-wise than others but yeah. Let’s just say they’re not known for the best soups.

You’re Edo, ba?

Is gbegiri and amala not preferable to
meals of human -flesh pepper soup
which is the relish of the Ibos ?
I’m not even going to address the lame joke about cannibalism but f.r., f.r., people who boldly claim to prefer abula/amala over pepper-soup are an embarrassment. Straight-up.

Osariemen12:
I hope you don't include amala and igbegiri in this your analysis. Southwest don't have anything in their kitchen. We, south south and probably southeast have it when it comes to food.

If you disagree, take a look at Tinubu. You'll discover his childhood was destroyed with bad food; reason he shouts 'emilokan' at old age.
It’s true that Igbos and south-southerners (Idus/Edo people excluded; their foods, goat meat stew/rice and kpomo-aside, ain’t really all that) have better food than Yorubas but one thing the latter definitely knows how to cook well is jollof rice. Especially the party kind (although Ekiti people at least tend to keep it at a sweet, traditional base; however-smoky, they don’t really do owambe-party rice like that as far as I can tell).

You bet. Very healthy.

For what it’s worth, o.p., I think you’re a wonderful cook. It’s just that me and Ofe-Owere don’t agree with each other (at least not yet) but that would probably be the case as it stands no-matter who makes it. It isn’t personal.

Do explain please.
Well, what’s it trying to be? A hybrid of okazi, oha and ugu or just-plain assorted stock-Igbotic vegetables-ofe masquerading as a rich (wo)man’s soup for the sake of Imolite pseudo-pompousity?

Wouldn’t you ever even use akwu instead of sodding palm oil (as-usual)? How is this distinctive from any other vegetable soup?

Yeah, I’m not too impressed with the name. Sorry. The soup itself is fine (and the original poster did a good job; kudos to her) but I just don’t think it lives up to the title. It’s good but not that good.

These women wont hear word. As soon as you know it is that THING called male in your womb.

Get rid of it cos if you don't at the end it will only bring nothing but pain to you. They don't deserve to live

Poor woman
Rip to her. If only she knew

Dead genders
Relax. This is a very sad situation and it’s true that male offspring are more likely to do this but just as many are true fruits of the wombs. Both sexes are needed in this world. I know stuff like this can be tough to read if you’ve had negative experiences with males but this particular guy obviously has a lot of issues.

Wow.

Emeka try sha.
Emeka as a name-concept doesn’t typify the vast majority of Igbo names. You’re most-accurate using names along the likes of Chukwudi, Obi (no surprise there) or Chukwuemeka if it has to be tied to Emeka. Emeka on its own is essentially describing a yeye Lagos boy who happens to be fairly good at fixing motor parts.

I don't know how Peter Edochie ended up giving birth to this unstable fool.
Mr Edochie (senior) has a decidedly (albeit-silent) cyclothymic-genius temperament. That latent healthy precursor to bipolarity proper is manifest in Yul and he doesn’t seem to know it (not that I’m one to gossip about celebrities but the guy’s obviously hypomanic and shouldn’t be exploited by chapter-and-verse, like what’s happening to Kanye).

(To the relatives of Yul Edochie: ndo, o? His raving madness won’t last forever.)
