For instance, see the way the female poster below me answered. So much romance and emotion and love attached. Awwwww -- but men don't think all that when they want to have sex. They just want to have sex, period! There's none of those long emotional barrage down there. For guys it's like, when you gotta go, you gotta go.
The reason men restrain themselves from cheating (or from getting caught), is because they want to respect their partners, or they don't want to disobey God, or they are avoiding diseases etc. Not all this emotional stuff. At least the emotional stuff doesn't come in until they're fifty or something.
But no one wants to hear that. 'There's no reason for a man to cheat', they chant it like a mantra, yet millions of men all over the world cheat millions of times everyday. Divorces take place on per second basis and the men are thoroughly punished while the women marry again only to catch their husbands cheating again until finally they conclude that 'no man is worth it'.

If you don't want your man to cheat on you (or at least keep the cheating to a minimum), marry a God-fearing man, someone who believes he has a higher power to answer to. Fear of annoying that higher power won't let him cheat or if he cheats it will be very very rarely.

Long story cut short, he was about calling the Waiter for the sum of what we ate, I asked him if he can allow me clear my own bills, he became very angry and asked if I was trying to prove that am richer than him or what, he quietly scolded me real hard for that while I later apologized.
To the guys, is it offensive for a girl to say such to you? Have you ever experienced such? What was your reaction?

Not everything on social media (Nairaland especially) applies in real life. Social media is a fantasyland where anonymous people say whatever they want to make themselves feel better and others feel bad. Usually more than half of what they say isn't true. Guys telling girls here to pick up the tab on a date is their way of dissing girls. In real life, an average guy taking you out means (like kashybaby said) that he wants to impress you. Means that he has the money to pay for both of you or only you while he manages water and lies to you that he has eaten. Offering to pick the tab deflates his ego. Pisses him off.


If you did this on a *first date* it is also not nice.

If you did this while not listening to his tales of 'love' or appearing bored, it exudes the impression that, well, you weren't impressed. Ego deflater.

If you really like the guy though this shouldn't be a big deal. If you want to prove your financial independence, offer to take *him* out next time and pay for every. Do it on the third date, not the second one so he doesn't feel you're trying to prove something.

so I woke up early to prepare my children for school today, there was no electricity supply but my son (5 years) was busying with his dad's phone in the sitting room, his composure made me decide to have a glimpse of what game he was playing, I snooped behind him and guest what? He was watching porn!! the way he was clicking and pausing it showed it wasn't his first time, I took the phone from him,and decided not to make a scene that early, Now am confused... I don't knw how to handle this (haven't told his father either). Am just annoyed after all the blocking TV channels... This had to happen. pls how do I handle this?

My sincere advise to any Christian on this forum is to ignore such blasphemous threads that insult our religion so that they die a natural death and slip off the front page. Commenting on such threads by Christians will only keep the sacrilegious thread on the front page.
Years ago the Religion section was one until the Islamists threatened the administrator and he gave in to their threats and granted them their restricted fiefdom ruled by an ayatolah.

It looks like an apparent case of threats to me because there's no reason why he would discriminate so openly against the Christian religion if he is not a Muslim.

I was going through a topic on front-page this morning and I came across one where the Muslim Op was worried about becoming atheist. I wanted to comment when I was directed to a page stating I should declare that I am a Muslim or else I can't make a comment.
While I find such a pre-requirement interesting, what interested me more was the fact that this clause only pops up on Muslim threads but not Christian threads.

Why is this so? Is it not proper to treat all religions with the same level of decorum and respect? I suspect that the clause was put there to dissuade people of other religions which I think is a paradox in itself but no problem, should the same thing be done for Christians too or did they decline the offer? Seeking clarification.
