Yes Buhari is corrupt and a tyrant, but it's only a fool that will think a corrupt CJN will stand a chance against a corrupt president.
A demon can't stand a chance against the devil.

If Onnoghen was an innocent man that was hanged to dry, then you expect the full support of the common man, all this will soon blow over and nothing, I repeat nothing will happen.

Actually, he didn't mess up by his admission in writing...the law in such situation is that there will be no need for reference to. CCT where someone admits in writing to a petition. The system was designed to be a truth rewarding one. One can only be prosecuted when he challenges or denies a petition. ....but the petition being politically motivated and the executive being in a race against time to remove him before the election disregarded every law ( ignorantly or mischievously). My greatest issue is with the northern judges whom have allowed themselves to be used as a tool by this administration. Their loyalty should be with the constitution and not a political party, religion or tribe. This is unfortunate.

Do u know if buhari wasn’t all ridiculous about his appointments and northern agenda Onnoghen’s trial issue wouldn’t look so bad as it does now. People can only imagine he wants to put another northerner there or it’s all politics and the timing is bad. Buhari is lost his credibility even to the objective minds.
This is not Buhari's fault, how could The CJN be so careless? Its like you leaving your door open for thieves to enter your house, when they do, you start complaining.

The CJN is well aware of the political clime we are now in, yet he choose to expose him self like this for these attacks, the cases of the likes of Tinibu, Buhari, Saraki about asset declaration is still fresh in our minds, a whole CJN that must have been involved in some these cases CHOOSE to "forget" to declare his own assets when he was appointed, knowing very well that the search light will be on him because of his new position in government.

Many of you may be shouting its all political, but I think it could be sabotage, because the CJN is too smart to do something so dumb.

PoliticsRe: Onnoghen: Buhari Orchestrating Destruction Of Democracy - Secondus by pryme(m): 12:01pm On Jan 23, 2019
onubijoe:
Onnoghen: Buhari orchestrating destruction of democracy - Secondus
......says judiciary is the target because of the rigging agenda of the APC.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has said that the federal Government under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari is orchestrating the destruction of democracy in the country because of the nefarious agenda of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to rig next month’s Presidential election.
Prince Secondus said that the President and his team are arm twisting the code of conduct tribunal to force out the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen because they believe that an independent Judiciary will obstruct their rigging plan.
The National Chairman who was reacting to the report that Federal Government has asked the CJN, to vacate office said that the illegal provocative action has left no one including the global democracies in doubt that indeed democratic rule has been suspended in Nigeria to pave way for dictatorship.
"The blackmail, the frame up and the orchestration of fictitious figures in the CJN's bank accounts by the government and their agents are all deliberate ploy to destroy the envious career of a man because of desperation for power
"What they are trying to do is not only illegal but a recipe for anarchy and breakdown of rule of law and must be vehemently resisted
The National Chairman of the main opposition party said that it’s now very glaring that President Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have concluded plans to plunge this country into a major crisis in frustration for their apparent inevitable rejection by Nigerians.
He said that trying to force the head of an arm of government out of office without following the clearly laid down procedures amounts to breach of rules and an invitation to major national crisis.
Prince Secondus urged the CJN to disregard the directives and remain in his office as the constitution guiding the operations of government is very clear on how he can be removed.
"President Buhari's inclination to non-democratic behavour is now apparent as he moves to muscle all other arms of government as well as ingredients of democracy.
The main opposition leader directed all lovers of democracy and rule of law in our country to stand up to be countered as its now obvious that APC administration is determined to wreck our democracy all because they are being rejected by Nigerians.
"The agenda is not hidden, which is to truncate democracy rather than face the Nigerian electorate.
He said that the CJN should disregard the directive from the executive as it did not follow the requirement of the law
After the 2016 bizarre arrest and harassment of some Judges and Justices of the Nation's Supreme Court and the August 8, 2018 failed coup d’état on the National Assembly including the sponsored theft of the Senate mace, added to the latest, it's now very clear that democratic norms have taken flight in the country under President Buhari.
The National Chairman said in a statement from his media office released on Wednesday that President Buhari has released his fangs on the judiciary as part of the intimidation agenda of the regime preparatory to the rigging of the 2019 Presidential election.
"Because of what they have in stock, their nefarious plans to thwart the will of the people in the forthcoming general election, they want to raise the level of the intimidation of all critical organs of democracy, the legislature, the Judiciary including but not limited to the fourth estate of the realm, the press.
"What other evidence do we need to show that threat to democracy is real and evident with President Buhari abhorring all known ingredients of democracy including rule of law"
Prince Secondus said that the true colour of the President is now out and Nigeria is returning to 1984 when all instruments of democracy was destroyed in the country under the supervision of then General Buhari.

Signed.

There are some people in this country that are not clouded by hate and politics,

Kano State Assembly has the power to investigate and subsequently impeach an earring governor
Ganduje ran to a court of competent jurisdiction to stop his investigation (for whatever reasons)
The court asked both parties to maintain status quo until the case had been heard.

Now, how is the court trying Ganduje?
Or
Of course a sitting Governor can be removed, but that is done by impeachment. I have never seen a court remove a sitting Governor (unless it's related to elections and the process how he/she won the election).

And what does the constitution say about erring public servants that are found to have committed fraud, you don't take this NJC as an excuse, if a sitting Judge commits a crime outside the scope of him/her performing their duties, such judge will be arrested and prosecuted, because the same constitution empowers the law enforcement agencies to do that to anyone, and I mean anyone and that includes your precious judges.

Doesn't matter, it's still immunity from prosecution even if it's a criminal case.

What this means is if a sitting judge kills someone he will be allowed to walk away until the NJC says he could be investigated and prosecuted.

So is this the law you want us to observe?

Oga there are exceptions. Let me explain in lay man terms. If a judge in the course of doing his/her job is found to have been compromised (collect bribe), the matter can be referred to the NJC. If the judge happen to murder a person, the judge faces criminal charges. The CJN case is a deliberate act of fraud by concealment. He himself agreed to that fact. The questions we should be asking are
1. Why would the CJN of all people forget to declare his assets as stilpulated by the law.
2. Why is it that the assets he forgot to declare happens to be his Domiciliary accounts (Dollars, pounds and Euro accounts)
3. What is the CJN hiding in those account that made him forget to list them as assets but remembered to list his salary account
4. Is the CJN above the law? If no, why don't he allow the case to follow due course.
All the so called "Learned" people are trying to say is that the Judge is technically immune to prosecution as long as the matter has not been brought to the NJC (regardless of the offense), these same learned people will tell you in schools that it's only the President, Vp, Governors and Deputy Governors that have immunity.

This is how our elites are shielded by the same law that will sentence a man for stealing N5000 to death.

Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, a Nigerian Supreme Court Judge on trial on charges of money laundering and passport fraud was freed on Friday by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Justice Ngwuta was among judicial officers whose houses were raided by operatives of Department of State Services in 2016.

He was subsequently arraigned in court on 13 counts charges of money laundering by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

Citing a previous ruling of Court of Appeal while dismissing the case, Justice John Tosho ruled that the pre-condition for instituting charges against a judicial officer were not met before Justice Ngwuta was brought to court.

The Lagos division of the court of appeal had in a ruling delivered on December 12, 2017 which was the ground for Justice Tosho’s Judgement, dismissed corruption charges instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC against a serving judge on the basis that a serving judge could not be investigated or prosecuted without being first disciplined by the National Judicial Council.

Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), who was Justice Ngwuta’s counsel argued that by virtue of the Court of Appeal's judgment, and the provision of section 158 subsection 1 and paragraph 21(cool of the third schedule of the constitution, the charges placed against his clients were incompetent.

He maintained that the complaints which formed the basis of the charges instituted against the Supreme Court judge should have been directed to the NJC which should have discipline Ngwuta, before the government can institute the charges.

PoliticsRe: Seems Judd Legum Lied, Contract Was Signed Before Atiku Became PDP Candidate by pryme(m): 10:39pm On Jan 21, 2019
nairalaila:
It seems American political analyst, Judd Legum who wrote about how President Donald Trump’s corrupt administration paved way for PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar into the United States of America, despite being banned, lied as the contract letter he shared was signed before Atiku Abubakar became PDP's Presidential candidate.

However in a twist of event, it seems he actually lied about Atiku Abubakar inking a $1.1 million lobbying contract with a man named Brian Ballard. According to him, Ballard is one of the most connected lobbyists in the Trump orbit. He ran Trump’s Florida operation and before that was a lobbyist for the Trump org in Florida. Since Trump was elected he’s signed up a slew of A-list clients like Amazon and Uber.

However reacting to the claims, Twitter user @Dondekojo disclosed that the contract was signed before Atiku Abubakar became PDP's Presidential candidate. The deal which was to enhance US-Nigeria relations and advancing democratic values, was also found to be a $90,000 deal per month

So @osita_chidoka signed a contract for the PDP a month before Atiku emerged as the candidate, liars like @MrAyeDee are making it into a lobbying deal for Atiku. #FakeNews

https://lailasnews.com/seems-judd-legum-lied-contract-was-signed-before-atiku-became-presidential-candidate/
@ the bolded the contract was signed "after" *Atiku defected from PDP,
Below is an extract from the news about the contract being signed, and pls note the date.

The contract which will last for one year will cumulatively fetch the firm N400 million naira at the end of the year.

The contract was signed, on behalf of PDP, by the former minister of aviation Osita Chidoka, on September 21, 2018.

“This contract is entered into between the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria (“the Client”), Plot l970 Michael Okpara Street, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, and Ballard Partners, Inc. (“the F irm”), 601 13th Street NW, Suite 450N, Washington, D. C. 20005,” the agreement read.

“This agreement shall automatically renew for successive one-year periods on the anniversary of the effective date of the agreement unless either party terminates the agreement. Upon renewal this agreement may be terminated within thirty (30) days written notice by either party.”

Duties to be done for the PDP by the firm includes:

Strengthening democratic values in Nigeria, maintaining secure conditions in Nigeria during elections among others.

“Duties of the firm. It shall be the Firm’s duty to consult with the Client and advocate on its behalf those issues the client deems necessary and appropriate before the US Federal government. Issues and objectives may include, but not be limited to, enhancement of US Nigerian relations; strengthening and advancing democratic values and the rule of law in Nigeria, with a special focus in the coming months on maintaining political and security conditions free of intimidation and interference in order to ensure the success and fairness of Nigeria’s national election for president in 2019. It shall further be the Firm’s duty to inform the Client of developments in legislation and policy relevant to the Client’s issues and objectives.

The reverend and his wife, as well as close associates of James and Titi are now praying and planning James-Titi 2019.

This is one major reason why James is confused and in need of unalloyed advice.

Michelle55; I toll your line of advice though and already shared that with James earlier, but this his reason of confusion is why I created this thread. I really want to hear from people like you who would imagine themselves in James shoe.

Thank you
From sleep know how death will look like,
From a relationship know how marriage will be,

James should be a real man, a real man is one that listens to his intuition, and makes use of logic not emotions. Being a real man means making hard choices to secure his well being and his future (even when it hurts).

Marriage is a life time contract, even with all the emotional fanfare in a wedding you will be asked to sign the marriage register, why? Because it's a contract. With that out of the way it begs the question, will you go into any contract with someone you don't trust? Love is out of the question here because in marriage love will become cranky and die slow and painful death when there is no trust.

Ofcos James has lost the trust he had, but he "decided" to still love. But with the new current situation it's just a matter of time before it gets ugly.

My question to James is why would he have to go on with a wedding plan just to please a church pastor?
He will only need the pastor when it's time to bless the marriage, but he does not need the pastor on telling him who to marry. So he should tell the pastor the wedding plans are off, cos it won't be the pastor's problem when he eventually marries a cheat that has shown she will not change.

James should sever his loses (though it may hurt) and move on. The writing is on the wall he should not be a pusssy about it

That shows what he will do for his friends, and this is gross misconduct because the money he will use to make his friends rich is not his own, the money he will be in charge of belongs to both his friends and enemies that are citizens of Nigeria.

And you say he can enrich his friends as long as there is no corruption, how? How can this happen when sectionalism, tribalism nepotism won't take place?
