Now, may I bring to your notice that even in your own holier-than-thou attempt to disparage the rest of us catching our fun here, you have proven yourself to be no different from the very words you have used to describe us here.  Your comment which seems to suggest that you are more "Christian" than the rest of us, is simultaneously antithetical to the very faith that you claim to represent.  A true Christian will never utter words like that with such bitterness.  And besides, if you truly are a Christian as you have attempted to make us believe here, why don't you adhere to the words of the Person that you claim to be your Lord and Saviour?  (Ref: Matthew 5:22!).

I have read quite a number of your posts on this forum, and let me state categorically that you are nothing but a HYPOCRITE! Often times, you come to religion forum to act all holy, but you go on to other boards quarrelling and bandying words with everybody. .  so much for one who claims to be a Christian!  Attitudes like yours only make non-christians have a second thought about Christianity.  Even the atheists on this forum do not descend to the level of insulting people that they do not agree with.  This is a forum where it is very normal for people to disagree, but you don't have to go all the way to call them names just to drive home one useless point.

The annoying part of your whole unreasonable excercise is that you always hardly make any sense in your attempt to prove that you are 'better' than the others.  You bump into threads to tell people that they are wrong, and rather than tell/show them what you think is right, you go all the way throwing insults at them.

To be more straightforward, YOU ARE SIMPLY UNINTELLIGENT!  Perhaps, PUERILE should be a more appropriate word for you.

And you really don't need to come here to defend yourself.  People here have eyes and can read for themselves.  I'm very certain that a lot of people will find your attitude on this thread, totally ludicrous.

I think this is an erroneous statement.

There are quite a number of atheists that do love genuinely.

I still find it difficult to understand why everything "northern" in Nigeria always has to be associated with Islam.

Several weeks back, a similar incidence occured in Benue state and some '%$&#@' already started associating it with Sharia, forgetting that Benue is predominantly a state of the adherents of Christianity.

When will all these religious and ethnic bigotry end?

With all due respect, mrpataki, I believe as an adult, one should be able to express his views without being unnecessarily insulting.  It's been stated right from the beginning of this thread that this is intended as comical, and nothing more.  If you felt irritated by the thread, you should have simply done yourself some good by ignoring, or at best, drop an insult-free comment. . . and I believe I'm speaking for everyone else here, innit?

I think CCC should be likened to Oceanic or Zenith because of their numerous branches all over the country. Even in the most deserted of places, you will find a Cele Church.

Okay, though I'm somewhat indifferent to these TV "Miracle shows", I think it's high time we stopped taking what Nigerian comedians say for the truth. Personally, I am yet to see anyone, either on TV or anywhere else, that was born blind, and could immediately identify a colour after being healed. Even if the pastor is fake, I doubt if he'll be that dumb as well, that he'll incriminate himself with such a childish prank. The only scenario I think I've witnessed was when someone who was blind (but not from birth) eventually regained her sight and could identify the colour of the pastor's shirt. Now, that's believable. And talking of the lame, I still see them leap after 'receving' their 'miracles'.

This is one relevant question that I once used to ponder on sometimes ago.

I think many of us here are looking at this from an entirely different perspective.  If you understand the poster's question very well, you'll notice that he's not actually asking 'why' animals experience birth pains - in respect of the naturalness of the phenomenon; but he's asking 'why' - in respect of what the Bible tells us on the real cause of Birth pains.  Allow me to expound on his question:

Since the Bible tells us that Birth Pains is one of the woman's punishments for eating out of the forbidden fruit, then why do animals - who did not eat out of the fruit - also suffer birth pains, if we're to really go by what the Bible tells us?

Of course, I understand perfectly the scientific (logical, actually) explanation given for this, which is the most rational explanation for the cause of birth pains.  But this explanation renders the Biblical explanation completely invalid, hence absolutely impertinent, and consequently, making the Holy Book seem unreliable.

So, anyone to elucidate this?

While it's true that cards are really scarce in Lagos, people can still get them at the branches I will list below:

IBTC - Allen Avenue branch.  These guys collect additional N200 for what they call "bank charge", so be ready to pay a total of N1700 if you want to get your card at this particular branch.

Intercontinental bank - Surulere branch.  Don't know much about their activities here, but I know someone that got hers here.

Though Progesterox does not exist, and the story posted up here is completely false (according to wiki and urban legends), another search just revealed that Rohypnol exists, and is truely a date-rape-drug that is used by rapists against their victims.

"Rohypnol can incapacitate victims and prevent them from resisting sexual assault. It can produce "anterograde amnesia," which means that individuals may not remember events they experienced while under the effects of the drug."

The sedative effects of Rohypnol begin to appear approximately 15–20 minutes after the drug is ingested. The effects typically last from four to six hours after administration of the drug, but some cases have been reported in which the effects were experienced 12 or more hours after administration. In recent news it has been discovered that scientists can now detect flunitrazepam and related compounds in urine at least up to 5 days after administration of a single dose of Rohypnol and up to a month in hair.

After winning they get snatched up by European clubs - where they think they are bigger than their country.

The third is an NFA-generated problem. They don't allow them to grow together, nations cup 2008, some of them will join the senior team, while those who are currently growing with the senior teams are dropped.

As logical as your points are, they still don't justify the age cheat inherent in the Nigerian football.  Are you saying that if a real U-17 was to play in this tournament, he wouldn't be picked by the big clubs in Europe?

Ever wondered why the highest level we've ever attained at the World Cup is just the Round of 16?  The reason couldn't be far-fetched!

By the way, I already celebrated our victory.  I'm just bringing to our notice the potential abysmal state this particular issue may put the Nigerian football into in the nearest future.  If you guys maintain that these guys are really 17, there's nothing I can do to that.  But let's wait and see if these supposed 17-year-olds will still be as active as they are in 2010 (when their real age would have started affecting them).  I suppose by then, all of them would have been "20-years-old", and would still be "very enegertic".
