Geegpay has not verified my account for the past 2 weeks and I currently do not the ID required to verify Wise. Someone also told me to stay away from Payoneer(I don't know why).

I have a few hundred bucks from my first gig that I need to withdraw fast.

Seriously Upwork freelancers are working for the Upwork as modern day slavery.

You buy endless connects to bid and bid for job, they will still deduct 10-20% on your hardwork earnings.

The replies from clients are enough to fetch me connects, I rarely buy connects. What is your field ?

Yeah, I think this depends on perspective.
Not everyone has been able to get remote roles without Upwork, and some of us are lucky that we don't buy connects.
If you think about it, 20% is only on the first 500$, 10% thereafter to the next 10,000$. It seems better than a fixed pay in Nigeria that inflation of about 21% fuc*s you over.

I just realized it's per client.
