Well you scan sponsor A's documents in a cohesive manner and then kick start sponsor B's document starting by scanning the letter of sponsor and ID Card first.

2) Is that space for proof of means of financial support for all financial documents including; SOA, sponsorship letter and affidavit of sponsorship, or do you add the sponsorship letter and affidavit under client information?

3) Do we need to print and sign the family information? I know the application form we don't need to but the family I'm not quite sure.

Any documents regarding your sponsor should be placed in the "proof of sponsor" section. Any document relating to you should otherwise be placed in the client information section. If you are submitting online you aren't required to print out or sign any documents. The agreement you tick yes to when you are about to pay your application fee covers the signature.

Simply put your chances depend on your home ties, employment viability and most importantly if the conference is of a reasonable expense to a VO. Also your previous travel history matters a lot. So I'll advice that you carefully highlight this factors in your application. All the best.

I booked a VFS appointment to apply for visa. However, after downloading the appointment letter, I could not open it because it is password protected. Does anyone have an idea of what the password should be?

Vfs in Nigeria as a lot of technical issues. By the way you don't need to book an appointment. It is technically useless just make sure you get there early. When I did mine I got there early and spent 25mins to get everything done. Plus this is a very busy period so you have to be prompt.

Hello guys, please i need help. I don almost cry all my eyes out and I have prayed and I'm getting tired.

I applied in Feb18.
Biometric request was Feb 20. I did it on Feb 21.
I got a medical request on May 10. I passed it June 2 according to my cic account.

I got passport request June 13, I submitted June14.
On June 14 after submitting passport, I got a mail from Vfs saying;

Dear Applicant,

We would like to inform you that your application has been processed in our office on 14 Jun 2019
You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number.

Anytime I track it, it says;

Visa application, Id ###### is being processed at our canada Visa office.

I was told it only takes 3 -5 days. My people, since June14 till now, nothing yet, this has affected my performance at work.

Please help, what do I do, what is wrong? Did I even get the right mail from Vfs? Is tgat the mail you get after submitting passport for stamping?

Sorry about the inconvenience. You should have received your passport however from previous experience this glitches happen. I'll advice that you place a direct call to know the real update on your application. 0815 019 9900 that's vfs lagos contact number. Explain your concerns to them directly. It will end in praise.



P.S: You should also know that cic undergoes
secondary background check even after passport request and that may be a factor.

I will be glad if someone can advice me on this. I intend applying for a masters program in eHealth, September, 2020 intake and in a few weeks the admission process starts. I am married with no kids and certainly will be taking my wife along when the time comes but I am concerned about the best approach to take. I read there are two ways one can go about this:

1. You can apply to get the study permit first, then later your spouse can apply to come join you.

2. You can do joint application, which means both can go at the same time.

In my situation, the only possible way for me is to do a joint application as I can't leave without my wife.

So for those that have gone through this process, what is the best option you advice especially as it concerns applicants coming from Nigeria who usually have a high visa application scrutiny and high denial rates?

Also I will like to ask if it is possible that my co-sponsor (father) can also act as a sponsor for my spouse since I will be doing a joint application?

Please I will be glad to get suggestions and feedback on these issues I raised.

It's good you are asking questions and making plans. However, every application is unique in terms of content and perception in the eye of a Visa officer. With the information you've provided my advice/comment will be;

1. Your wife seems to be the only factor that csn compel you to return, and the fact that you'll be going with her may weaken your home ties. Non the less applicants have scalled through in the past.

2. The fact that you require financial aid as a Married man may put a VO off and not only weaken your financial stance but also further prove to the vo of the probably of you departing Canada at the end of your studies.

Nothing is impossible it's just a matter of chances, luck and how you package your application. If you have assets, Business etc that can compel you to return you can mention for further advice. Also you need to research on your proposed program.

It is a complicated issue with CIC (Canadian immigration centre) going for a program you are passionate in and going for a program that depicts a reasonable expense. Some might say a convincing sop(Statement of purpose) will do but my simple advice for you will be to enrol for an academic program that shows progression from your previous studies and then look to pursue your fashion design ambitions on the side in Canada.

It is already late to think of September admission. Your best chance is tp prepare for January. You are a mature applicant and will need to have your study gaps accounted for. Also applying for a program that shows progression from your last study program is vital.

You can conduct your personal research regarding application processes, admission etc on this platform.

Hi, I'm sorry but with a GPA like that it is almost impossible to get an Msc program. A graduate certificate program will be a good idea. However, you should know that whatever engineering discipline he chooses should be unique in order to avoid any glitches concerning purpose of visit.

There are several graduate certificate programs that offer unique programs that enable you learn industry relevant skills and make you employment ready upon graduation. For example, centennial college is an option.

In reference to the bolded your proposed course of study shows little or no correlation with previous studies. You should be looking for programs like MBA, Executive Mba, forensic accounting etc programs. I'm talking about programs that can ease your post studies settlement in Canada.

Also going for the proposed program will raise doubts on your purpose of visit in Canada. So please thread carefully.

Paris wow! That's a first for me. Hopefully they are lenient with their decision. There was a time study visas were processed in Ghana due to the ease of study vias approvals it was moved down to Kenya.

Bro, be careful of extremely vague study plans. I understand you need to clarify your points however, most VOs don't subscribe to it.

A diploma program will be your best route. Or better still request for your academic transcript in liue of getting course waivers for a bsc program. However, with the recent trend of refusals there needs to be a clear study plan in order to convince a visa officer.

Cic files are usually in pdf formats. Maybe you need to download a pdf application. Better still use another device.

Hello, sorry for the refusal. However your refusal is strictly based on financial grounds. This isn't something that can be rushed. Your sponsor and financial portfolio needs to be revised. Looking at your finances it is pretty much obvious you need to work on it. 7mill isn't sufficient enough considering other expenses such as;
1. Cost of caring for your supposed siblings and other living expenses of your parents.

2. The economic situation of Nigeria

3. Matter of fact if you deduct a years living expense plus tuition I think you'll realise that there is nothing left.

P.s: If you decide to lodge money into the designated account for the purpose of the visa it will be flagged by the visa officer. So you have to be careful and thread carefully.

Hello house , I got a mail last week from my school that the deadline for payment of tuition has passed. I replied to the mail by asking for extension of payment cos my Visa is yet to be approved.

The school sent me a mail saying that there is no longer space for Sept intake but I can defer the admission to January. Also, the former letter of admission (LOA) should not be used for visa application as it has become void.

When you get it send it via webform on the cic website. Send a subtle email on the latest development. Send a subtle email asking then to please update your profile. Please be very formal in your approach.  Remember you are sending the webform to the Nairobi consulate via the webform.

2. The process of applying for a visa application requires several supporting documents, financial documents to tailor your needs.

My cousin brother who is very active in the US thread directed me to this thread to seek for urgent help. I applied for a study visa on March 26th with an upfront medicals. My upfront medicals was updated to pass on May 15th. I received passport request on May 21st. I submitted my passport on a Friday being May24th.

Ever since then I haven’t heard from cic why the delay not until June 21st they contacted me about a fraudulent bank statement I used for my application. I have been given 10days to respond. Please what can I do, this is my 4th day and the time is fast ticking, I need help. I don’t want to be banned, I have even broadcasted about my traveling. This shame is gonna be too much on me. @abusmanlouis advice Is the best you're going to get on this issue. If you know you used a fake statement then there is nothing in this world you can do. You'll get banned for 10-15yrs and be flagged especially from other countries like usa, uk, Australia etc that share data with them.

So on the contrary print out the statement for a year and send it in. All the best.

Technically cic doesn't issue visas beyond the validity of your passport. Regardless of the duration of the program. You can also apply for a new passport 6months before it expires. When you get a passport request you need to comply within a month or risk loosing the offer.

I'll suggest submitting the designated passport to cic while you work on getting a new one asap. And if you have connection and lucky you can get a new passport within 2weeks to submit along side the old passport. You can also attach a letter of explanation to explain the passport validity issue.

This inquiry is for my brother, he has renewed his passport. Hopefully, he will get the new passport in two weeks. My question is this; can he send the passport with the expiry date October 2019 to the embassy and when traveling to Canada, he will show them the new passport and the other passport (expiring date October 2019) or he wait till I get the renewed passport before sending it to the embassy/VAC.

I know it's been a while since I came here. The situation I have is i am currently out of the country and i applied since July 2018 online for my student visa. Cic only requested for medicals on the 13th of June 2019 and my admission has already been cancelled cos I already deferred once and i don't have any admission pending. Should I go ahead and do medicals here in the usa without an admission letter available. Please what should I do. This is something I have waited literally 2years for cos my admission took 8 months before visa took a year approximately. Ur urgent response would be appreciated. And is there any guru that can send me their no so I can call them to discuss extensively on this.

First and foremost, congratulations. It is long overdue. Since you Don't have a valid DLI institution it doesn't stop you from proceeding with the medical. When you get a passport request it comes with a 2yr validity. You get your study permit at the point of entry.

So before then you should have sorted out a new admission. Contact the previous institution and let them know about the recent development. You'll most likely pay for another application to get a new admission letter. Once again congratulations.


P.s: Contact the school ASAP. You'll get a 2yr visa from cic depending also on the length of your program. Whixh means you can travel anytime between that period. Worst case scenario you get a study permit extension. With the look of things you have a valid ground for that. After all they delayed your application for almost a year.

I was in the bathroom taking my bath and at the same time playing music with my phone, my music got interrupted and it was an email that entered. Still sponging my body I walked close to my phone to see and it was CIC “donotreply”, you have a new message(s) in your account, I didn’t even know when my sponge fell off my hands. I just picked my phone and ran out of the bathroom like that with my soapy body, my mother saw me on the way and was surprised!.. I told her mum the hour is here Canada just replied and I don’t know if it’s a refusal or approval- she shouted and joined me as I run to my room-. As I was logging into my account my hands were uncontrollably and terribly shaking, My mum kept shouting for grace as my account was loading, lo and behold it’s an approval guys.. we laughed and hugged ourselves . Purpose of visit might be due to applying for a program that doesn't justify the fees, poorly written study plan among other factors. Also improper documentation of applications also sometimes cause confusion. You also probably didn't have enough supporting documents to back up your claims. The traditional thing to do is order a gcms note.


P.s: I'm starting to notice gcms notes are just copy and paste this days.

My undergraduate course was Urban and regional planning, finished serving in 2017, got a job immediately in a Top real estate company in Lagos as their Urban Planner.

My proposed course of study is Urban and regional planning GIS (Diploma 2 years) at MOHAWK COLLEGE because they are the only one offering the course. And because I intend to further my knowledge in that area or land development, I had to look for the school offering the course.


Now with this document. Is there anything left behind? What didn’t i do right. Please I need suggestions guys. Right now I’m devastated

Hi sorry about your refusal. However I can't see documents to back up your Personal asset snd finance. Your study plan is also vital, because the VO might be skeptical about your purpose of visit. And most times when you have issues with purpose of visit travel history is also ticked. Using 3rd party sponsor will always remain a tough thing to do. Ensuring you account for the dependents of your sponsors and proving the extensive relationship that exists between you and them is also vital.

Most schools expect you to confirm attendance by the 1st of August. You don't want to rush another application. I will suggest differing and working on it. Once again sorry about the refusal, there is hope Bro!.

What if the (3rd) tranfers my first year tuition+living expenses into my acct, and he states in his LOS that he has done so and would continue to do same during the course of my studies and shows proof of that transfer, does that suffice? If it does, is there a stipulated time the funds ought to be in my account for or it doesn't matter?

Good idea. Well for that method the funds will have to mature for about 4-6weeks.
