Hello house, please I need your suggestions. I have someone who's willing to sponsor me as I apply for my Visa, but he is a close family friend, not a relative and he has a company. I need you advise on how to convince the VO that someone who isn't my relative is sponsoring me( considering our relationship as just family friends a d not relatives). Asides these documents, letter of sponsorship, SOA, tax clearance, CAC cert. and affidavit of sponsorship(or is it support), what other document does he need. Please any advice on this would be appreciated.

My extract on dealing with 3rd party sponsorship.

third party sponsorship

3rd party sponsorship is the use of individuals/organisations that dont have a direct relationship with you or have their own dependents.

It isn't impossible to use a 3rd party sponsor, but a lot of people find it hard to get the required details. A VO needs to understand why someone that isn't directly related to you (father, Mother, husband, wife or siblings without dependents) would want to sponsor you. The very first thing they need to understand is:

1. Has the 3rd party sponsor assisted you financially in the past with concrete EVIDENCE! .
2. Can you explain vividly the dependents of the 3rd party sponsor and how this won't affect future assistance.
3. Can you explain why a (3rd) would want to spend so much money on you!.

so ideally there isn't a perfect way to do this or a magical document to convince a VO. However if you can get the following among other supporting documents then you are fine. Also note the older you are the harder it is for a VO to believe your case and you can get flagged for rejection based on "Personal finance" or inadequate reason for embarking on an expensive program.

1. Show proof the (3rd) has assisted in the past

2. Explain vividly the (3rd) dependents in a
separate LOE. And back it up with documents

3. (3rd) financial portfolio

4. Rather than the (3rd) stating in the letter of employment that he/she promises to do this and that let the person pay a reasonable sum perhaps tuition. That way the LOS will have a statement such as
" I have paid the applicants 1st semester fee has my own quota of support towards the applicants studies and prepared to do more in future".
You will notice that the (3rd) has shown considerable support to convince the VO rather than making empty promises to the VO on supporting.

P.s; Age factor also matters when using a sponsor. And be very careful of "Personal assets and finance"

Hello Gurus on the forum,
A lady applied for Canadian Study Permit online just got a request for Medical examination. She has already booked an appointment with one of the accredited Hospitals(IOM Lagos) but will be travelling from another state.

She wants to know if it would be advisable to drop whatever items might be required with her friend (in Lagos )so as to submit to CIC on her behalf in case they prompt for visa application after Medicals? It's better she uses courier service. Very easy.

She needs clarification on the following.

(i) What are the required documents for Visa application after Medicals? She only needs her passport ones she gets passport request.

(ii) Can she send her passport/documents for Visa application to-and-fro through Courier services(e.g DHL) as someone suggested or MUST she take the her passport/documents to their office in person? Yes sure, she just needs to attach a 3rd party consent letter and pay for return courier service. I used dhl. If she's sending her passport to the same place she did her biometrics then she doesn't need to pay.

Sorry about the refusal. However, it is way too early to apply so soon. Apply first week of January that was the same thing I did. Till then reflect on your application and tighten the loopholes.

Yeah, true. It's important to approach in a logical manner (like I no send, like I love naira and I will come back, like to go and study is my priority, like I need that study to improve my life, business and career here in naira).
As regards app, I have put in reapplication just a week now. (17th or 18th June or so). I took to your advice and that of many others here. I did other for the GCMS note but I had to reapply before it comes. I just new my finance wasn't enough, so I increased it and added a new assets as the reason was "personal assets and financial status"
I check all areas of the previous and noticed they were good except for that area.
But above all, I am seriously bringing God who is the best VO into these. I and my husband have already started seriously and no stop until God ans.
Thanks for everything and that's to everyone here. I must come back to testify IJN

Bro you don't seem to get me, what I have written is 20,000CAD not 2000 . Available fund is 24,732 while my tuition and living expenses is 14,833CAD
The section for( funds available, room and board and tuition) is one of the most confusing part for Applicants. CIC states that you only need to show figures or proof of funds for the duration of the first year. If you are going for a 2year program you are only required to show proof of funds for the first year (however there is nothing wrong with showing prood beyond the first year).
Therefore;
Tuition*- this figure should be the total roundup of your entire tuition fees for the duration of your program. In case you don't have the figure then provide the first year only.

Room&Board*- This should show expense for the first year. The default amount in this category is 10kcad however some province requires more I.e Quebec.

Total funds available for stay in Canada*- first year in consideration. The sum total of tuition, living expenses, books and supply etc. Should be filled here. Most times the school gives you a comprehensive breakdown

Others*- any non tuition fees will be recorded in this category. For example Medical insurance.

Hello house

I’ve been working for my uncle in his company since MARCH, so as not to stay at home.

I don’t get paid salary though, but to re-apply for my TRV, so I told him I would need employment letter and all other letters and also a pay slip.

So he said he was going to start the payment from last month

What do you advice guys? Can the employment letter start from last month? Also, what can I use to fill in the months after my first application which was January?
He doesn't need to start any glaring payment to show proof of employment. Matter of fact it raises doubt. What you need to do is show proof you work there by getting the following;

1. Employment letter
2. Exclude the pay slip because you don't have a salary account to back it up with.
3. Your uncles CAC certificate.
4. A professional picture with him if you have.
5. Any business licence in relation to his establishment.
6. Let the introduction letter show you've been working for hin long enough to cover your study gaps. (Just a hint! )

Good evening gurus I'm to reapply this week pls how can I tackle or write a letter of explanation on these problems below. Pls help me"I have reviewed the application. Based on the *financial documents submitted*, the Applicant appears to have a *moderate level of establishment* in their country of residence, and as a consequence, this visit does not appear to be a reasonable expense. in addition, *I have therefore accorded less weight to the applicant's economic ties*. The applicant's *purpose of visit appears vague* and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application."
Im reference to this. I hope you've done justice to a comprehensive and cohesive study plan. You also need to show more proof of your establishment in Nigeria. With this gcms note it appears you are on the border and just need a little more effort.

Good morning gurus in house and happy Sunday, Pls is tax clearance compulsory?
Tax clearance is an important document that enables the VO verify an active company following due process. However, it doesn't decide the final outcome of the application but would be advised to get it. If you can't you can supplement the application with a company SOA and Reference letter.

Anyway, I pick a lot sense from your write up.

I am sorry to say but I can see a bit of arrogance in ur comment. I am happy for you that you have gotten your PR but like u mentioned no situation are the same and I still will not agree that SOP or SOA by themselves are the game changer, I believe it is more than that.

As I have previously mentioned, I was refused and I went for JR. I didn't add a single new documents, I didn't change my SOP and with that the refusal was reviewed and I was approved.

Senatorkolade mentioned it in some pages ago that the VOs can sometimes be sloppy and lazy.
Also, all fingers are not equal, we all have different abilities and capabilities, this is why I appreciate frankrobn, he doesn't talk down on people, instead he encourages. Some of us are not so smart as u assumed and will always need help, that is why there is market for agents.
Sorry who said anything about statement of account? This are the kind of comments that derail the thread. You can't distinguish between an advice and talking down on people.

You say sop's arent important then why do VOs write about "Poor and Vague" study plan in most gcms note? Maybe you should shed more light on this since you're so sure it doesn't count.

Also about your reference to senatorkolade I guess you missed out the part in my last post where I stated individual errors made by VOs cause a lot of issues. Please before you type about someone being arrogant make sure you think twice about it.

A particular Moniker actually spoke about people not understanding when help is been given. I list out areas applicants should work on and out of the blues you come out to criticise me. I'll just leave it there, because non of this will be important 24hrs from now. Carry on!

Socio-Economic Factors and Visa approvals

Recently the UK released an article warning her citizens on the dangers of coming to Nigeria on vacation or business grounds. They spoke immensely on the crime, unemployment, Terrorism etc. Issues burdening our beloved country.

Now my point is the effect of Globalisation ensures every country in the world understands the situation and usess the economic indicators in any particular country(population, Inflation, political instability, GDP etc) to verify how well they are doing.

They understand Nigerians are trying to escape. Forget about what you see in gcms note it is pretty much copy and paste this days. And the economic factors of the country also plays a huge role in visa approvals not to mention individual VO errors. What you see in your refusal letter, gcms et all is just 45% of the actual reason you were refused.

Like I mentioned in my previous post it as become extremely hard to get approved and forget about the advices you get here or what you read, there is a huge element of luck in getting approved this days. It is going to get harder to be Honest I just pray and hope it works out for you all really.

Please plan accordingly, work with what you have and not what worked for someone else. Be original and most importantly avoid rushing an application. When you get refused stop rushing to re-apply take your time to evaluate. Lastly, the most difficult time to apply for a Canadian trv is between June-August. There's just to many people applying and human fatigue, errors and so on also plays a huge factor.

All the best.....
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Qudkom(m): 9:51am On Jun 22, 2019
The rate of Refusals as become alarming however the increased rate in which applicants continue to think what works for Person A will work for Person B is equally appalling. Majority of applicants cannot distinguish;

1. Between Having the proper finances for a study program and establishing an adequate personal asset and finance portfolio.

2. Understand meeting the demands for a clear purpose of visit to Canada and Establishing good ties to Nigeria.

3. Submitting applications in a cohesive and logical manner.

4. Not understanding how to state and explain the use of a 3rd party sponsor.

5. Most importantly not understanding how to generate a solid study plan and choosing the right program and institution. Every institution in Canada pocess a unique blend of speciality a particular institution can be skilled in a particular program and pretty much basic in another. Applicants don't bother doing researches they just apply to whichever school pops up.

The VOs already understand the patterns used by Nigerian applicants right from copy and paste sop formats to basic and unnecessary supporting documents. Difficulty rate of trv application is now HARD!.

Applicants need to understand the game plan, conduct researches and understand what they are doing. When I go through applications this days I can smell a desperate applicant from a mile away and guess what I am not even a trained VO.

P.s: Always try to read up the thread before asking questions.

Hi, sorry about the refusal. This is clearly a result of the program you chose. It doesn't show any progression in your studies going for a "Diploma". Judging by your limited travel history thr VO obviously believe you are trying to immigrate to canada via the study route. Juli22:
Hello!

I'm quite new here and I have something really disturbing me about Canadian travels...

Here is the thing

I am a graduate. I studied Medical Laboratory Science as an undergraduate program here in Nigeria. I am currently working with an agency here in Nigeria and they got two admission offers for me
1. A Diploma program in Environmental Technician Field and Lab (2 years program)
2. Post Graduate Health Analytics (1year program)

On the course of asking questions to people around me, I decided to go for the 2years Diploma program. I already paid for the tuition

But in the course discussion with one of my friends , he said that since I have done an undergraduate program here in Nigeria that I would have gone for the PGD (1yr) why go for the Diploma 2yr.... I told him that it was because of the yrs inviolved.

So now I have contacted the agency to know how they can write the school to revoke my admission offer for the masters program and then write to the school that gave me the diploma course to know if they could give me a Graduate Diploma Course to replace the undergraduate diploma that I have already paid for. They also applied to another school for a PGD program as well.

Right now I'm waiting for 3 offer letters.

Please I need an advice....

Should I continue with the undergraduate Diploma course ?
If Yes what else can I do to increase my chances of getting my visa approved ?
Or should I wait to choose the school for PGD when the offer comes out huh

Please I need answers because I only have limited time to make decisions.
Reading through your post the only thing that rings in my head is Purpose of Visit!!!!. You don't seem to have a coherent study plam. Now for a start you need to evaluate your career objectives and seek a relevant program in your field. And make sure it is a post graduate program. Also if you came out with a solid cgpa then going for Masters will be a good choice.

Choosing the right program is one of the most important decisions, failure to clarify will lead to Purpose of visit denial and spook the VO to ticking Travel history denial if you haven't left the country before. Please take necessary actions.

P.s: The thing about health related programs is that they can easily be enrolled for in Nigeria so you need to choose a vibrant program and have solid reasons for choosing it.

Hi there, Hi everyone.. Been up and down this forum and Google as well... I'd appreciate if anyone can suggest schools I can apply to, graduated with a cgpa 2.3 of 5.0, most schools I've seen take a minimum of 2.4 converted to a 4.0 scale for PGD or ADip

Thanks in advance
You might want to check post baccalaureate programs. They are technically advanced bsc programs and can help supplement your weak cgpa while preparing you for your chosen industry.

Notable mentions: Thompson Rivers university, cape Bretton University etc.

Tuition payment depends on the choice of institution. However regardless of tuition your available fund should cover the overall payment of your tuition for a year and living expenses. Before making payments always check the refund policy of the school.
