Bracha: Hello Sorry for this delay in processing. Here’s what I’ll do if I were you: i’d send them an email copying every other visa office’s email address I know; i’ll tell them my study permit application is almost at its one year mark; i’ll tell them this wait has taken its toll on me psychologically and mentally; i’ll tell them it’s irresponsible for a government organization that prides itself on organization and promptness to be this tardy and incompetent (believe me i’ll say all these because at this stage I have nothing to lose); i’ll tell them i’ll be expecting a better and more helpful response from them, one that gives me a proper idea of my application status.
PS: if you don't want to use tardy incompetent, you can look for synonyms that won't be glaringly insulting. I know this would seem extreme and risky, but some risks are worth taking. The worst it can get is getting denial, then you re-apply if you want to. Good luck. How on earth can you ask someone to say that to a visa office. A VISA IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT!!!!! I can guarantee you that if you say that they will not only reject the application they will flag the applicants name. I really can't believe you just sai this. And to the concerned party please be patient by the grace of God it will end well. |

I'd like to seek an advice regards to my application for masters ( Agric Business Management ), Canada, my first degree was B.sc Agric, 2015, being someone that's always been interested in politics and also love to cross from sciences to art, I decided to have my masters ( Masters of public and international relations ). Submitting my application, do I need to fill in the form that I also have a masters in MPIA, cause I heard they want you to do someone that's related to your first degree in your masters. Thank you It's a two way street. A VO might look at your application and think 1. why is he/she applying for another msc and think you are trying to use it to get into Canada hence, not a bona fide student. 2. Why would you deviate into art and all of a sudden you want to go back into it. Most especially when you already stated your interest in politics 3. A detailed SOP might be in your favour and help you convince the VO. Which means you might just be favoured. Lastly, for the sake of getting declined on the basis of "Purpose of Visit" I will advice that you make calculated plans which might include you choosing to declare your msc credentials or not. All the best. |

Eddie31: Good Morning to you all. I am just following this thread and I have plans to pursue my post-graduate course in counseling at a university in Canada. I graduated with a 2:2 and currently serving. I want you guys to help me out. Responses will be appreciated Well you need to read the thread at least from Part 11. But for starters: 1. You can't apply for msc. because of your low gp and you should consider advanced diploma, graduate certificate and post baccalaureate diploma courses when you want to apply to schools. 2. Ensure there is a correlation between your bsc degree and the program your applying for. Start from there, and when you get an admission you cam come back for more advice if you need. All the best |

Tshoow: Hello to you all, I am very new on this platform but I have been going through the threads. Please, I need your evaluations and advice. I applied for a study visa with my two kids last year December and was denied solely on the basis that they are not satisfied I will leave Canada after my study. A new session will start by September 2019, can I still re-apply with my kids but this time with my uncle who holds a political position writing a letter and promising me work when I get back to serve as home-tie. Also, is there any document I need to add to make for a strong case. Hoping to read replies soon... Thank you all Please it doesn't matter if your uncle is the vice president. Your kids prove that you are going to come home hence, they serve as your home ties. I will suggest you don't make the same mistake and order your gcms note to get a comprehensive detail why your application was refused. The VO obvious thought since you are applying with your kids it means you don't plan on coming back |

gig1005: Hello house, please i need advice as my wife application was declined last month. I have been following this thread silently.
After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the IRPA and IRPR. I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your purpose of visit.
She apply with our two kids as she going for her PhD program and I already paid one-year tuition fee to the school, and I already make the fund needed in her account and the kids account because I have been running the kids account since they are little.
DOCUMENT SUBMITTED
ADMISSION DOCUMENT FROM SCHOOL RECEIPT OF 1 YEAR TUITION FEE PAID MY HUSBAND COMPANY CERT, SHOWING MY WIFE AS ONE OF THE DIRECTORS. MY WIFE STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT OF 10M BAL AND MY SON ACCT SHOWING 10M BAL AS WELL CV. SCHOOL CERT SOP POLICE CERT AFFIDAVIT OF SPONSORSHIP SPONSOR LETTER CONSENT LETTER KIDS PASSPORT AND BIRTH CERTI MARRIAGE CERTI HUSBAND PROPERTY DOCUMENT HUSBAND BANK STATEMENT
Please, I need advise on how to convince the VO. AND WHAT DOC DO YOU THINK I NEED TO SHOW IF AM TO PROOF THEM WRONG THAT I WILL COME BACK
I will really appreciate ur help Sorry about your refusal, although some things need proper clarification: 1. How old are your kids? 2. You need to order GCMS note 3. From the look of things she met every requirement and the "Purpose of visit" was because she applied with the kids. Ideally the children are meant to be her (home ties) that is a proof she will be coming back after her studies. But since she applied with them that probably spooked the Visa officer that she'd probably not come back after her studies. 4. Also they probably thought since the children have a guardian(Father) back in Nigeria why is she taking them along? Lastly, she only had only one reason for the refusal which is positive, I will advice you order gcms noteto get a comprehensive detail of why it was refused and in the next application she applies alone. All the best. |

Ayomiposi2020: Dear Nairalander,
I will like your advise on my application, here is my profile:
Early last year I gained admission into cenetennial college, program: Food science technology Fast-Track (It is a 2year program) In May 2018, I applied for student visa and I was denied June 4th 2018. Reason for denial; Purpose of Visit, Current employment status and Personal assets and financial Status. As at then I was a corper and therefore was serving as a teacher in a government school. I showed evidence that I was serving so I guess it was a red flag cos getting the visa meant I will ignore my Nysc and travel.
Anyways I decided to complete my NySC before applying. So in November I completed my Nysc, I traveled to London, returned in November, traveled to France in January, returned in Feburary. However after my service, I decided to work in my Dad's company as a project manager since I couldnt seem to secure a job as a food technologist in Nigeria, whilst working with him, i realised I actually liked working as a project manager and I will like to be certified in Management and I can even take over from him when he retires.
And so I wrote to the school and Change my program from Food science to Global business management(Please bear in mind that My BSC is in Genetics and Biotech which is related to food science but not related to Global business management). Now I want to reapply for the visa, do you me changing my course will negatively affect the outcome?, also I have heard that the embassy dose not regard admission from colleges how true is this? Because my course is a PostGraduate Certificate program. ALso in reapplying , what do I say in response to the VO's conclusion? do I reply the denial letter and also submit a statment of purpose letter? or are they one and the same? Thanks awaiting your response Your application can be simple and yet complicated if you aren't careful. This is my advice: 1. You didn't order your GCM note to get a detailed reason for your denial. 2. Working for your dad is a perfect proof of hometies. You have to ensure your dad specifically state in the letter og sponsor that he wants you to take over and add innovative ideas to his company. If you are the first child then that's a plus. 3. Since there isn't much correlation between your BSc. And global business management I will suggest that you compose a well detailed SOP. You can state how your father wants to dwell into exporting agricultural produce and will need someone to head the product testing before exporting and all and since you have a bsc degree in a familiar field you'd will be heading it (please this is just an example to prove a correlation between your work experience in your dad's company and the academic program). Lastly, to defend your change in program you can state that since you started working for your dad you've been planning on taking his business beyond the shores of Nigeria and a "Global business program" will give you an edge. I hope you get it right this time, but I believe if you follow a carefully laid out blueprint from the letter of sponsor to SOP and all then your visa will be approved. Disregard the whole college thing. Package your application well and success will be yours! |

Or simply google a key word and type Nairaland at the end of it, some threads with same words would pop up . You can also check the first page of each thread, there’s a simpler way to search for things on the thread.Put in some effort and research online about the schools and their programs and admission policies . olaola17: Please kindly advise on my application process especially with the funding aspect and how to define a relationship for your sponsor who is a family friend.
Good afternoon everyone,
I am very new on this platform and i hope i am doing this correctly. I need help as regards my application. I have my acceptance letter from the University i applied to in Canada but i do not have enough funds personally to apply for the study permit. (Masters in Public administration and i currently work as an administrative assistant in a consulting firm)
Though i have a family friend who is willing to help but i do not know how best to state as his relationship when he is writing the sponsorship letter. Also another challenge is that he is having about 8m in his account and the cost for my school, living and flight expenses is about 12m for 2 years. 1)do i look for additional account to use as a co-sponsor?
2)would he need to provide his CAC document since he is using his personal account and not the business account.
Though for my tution i do not need to pay upfront as i pay per semester depending on the number of courses i register for. 3)Do i have to provide my own statement of account too as i do not have a sitting balance in it. 4)Or are there other means i can use to proof i have sufficient funds for my trip? Please kindly help me on it.
What i have at the moment is an introductory letter from my employer and a religious organisation where i volunteer from time to time, leave application letter, also also provided a deed of agreement for a landed property that i have.
Kindly help as i would really love to be guided before i put in the application. Hope to get all set before mid april incase i need additional account, otherwise i can do it in the space of 1 week.
Thank you so much guys as i await your sincere feedback. I must say the chances of getting your application approved using a family friend is very slim. The Visa officers would need to understand why someone that isn't related to you will cough out millions to fund you. As a case sample I know someone that used a family friend which worked but her mum was also a co-sponsor. So I'll advice you to have a relative. Also, it will be advisable to pay your tuition or at least a fraction of it preferably through your family friends account (please familiarise yourself with the schools refund policy first!!!). Lastly, your family friend needs to submit his CAC certificate if he will be using a company account. I also have to inform you that a company account is tricky because they will need to understand why his using company funds to sponsor you. Lastly, you need to tidy up your home ties and I hope your program is related to your work experience and previous degree. All the best. |

honeychild: How about when the person is applying for the M.Sc program itself? Wouldn't the discrepancy create an issue with the school? Thats where the affidavit comes in. That way you can also communicate with the school and explain yourself. You won't be there when the VO's are scanning through your application. So I'll advice you scan the documents I listed earlier. It's better to explain yourself to the school than to a VO |

Luckymama: Good day folks. Please I need some advice. I gained admission into uni at the age of 15, and my Dad made an affidavit declaring my age to be 17 because he felt they wouldn’t accept me at that age. Unfortunately I was not aware of the gravity of this affidavit. In fact I completely forgot about it and I have been using my real age since I graduated.
Now I am in the process of applying for a master’s program. My passport which has a lot of travel history and which I have used to travel to the Uk and US bears my real age. My transcript from my university will bear my “official age” . What do I do. I have not yet applied for my transcript You know some people dont actually scan their transcripts when submitting their visa applications. I will advice you scan the original waec certificate, bsc certificate and nysc certificate(if you've served) only. All the best. |

Abbeyme: Frankrobbn1, Austacus, Qudkom.
Thanks all for your contribution.
My situations is such that I am not sure I can claim sponsorship from family since I have been working for over 10 years . About POF, I just recouped my saving and sold some equipment and properties to raise enough funds. And in this case, the funds are fresh in my own and wife's accounts. Do you still think I should just attach the account statements for myself and my wife, then explaining the circumstances?
What else can I do? Judging by the fact that you've been working for quite some time now, it is only fair to think the VO's would expect you to have considerable funds to sponsor yourself. 1. would your wife be travelling with you? 2. Do you have a business you run with registered CAC documents (This will help with home ties and if you wont be travelling with your spouse you can always claim you run the business with her and she will be handling the affairs pending your arrival) 3. If the funds available can cover your living expense+Tuition for a year+ funds for your family while you are away then you are good. 4. It seems you've been out of school for quite sometime and providing a timeline for your studygaps, a very effective reason for going for the program and all will be important. 5. I have seen an application where someone got sponsored by his father-inlaw. 6. If the funds in the account are "lump sums" and have no correlation with previous funds in your account then you have to explain vividly plus that might spooke the VO's into thinking you are trying to sell things off because you plan not to come back. P.s: Most of what I listed are secondary to what you asked but also goes a long way to adding depth to your application. All the best. |

sillysassysally: TRV processing time update 23/03/2019
Congratulations to all those who got their approvals today!
We now have a sample of 13 hopefuls. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.
This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.
We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".
Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me. Our data analyst lol |

I have another question. I just got my offer letter and my program starts on May 6 2019. Can I still apply for a study permit now or is it too late?
Do you advise that I get admission for September intake instead and apply for visa? You can submit as soon as possible. You have roughly 7weeks and anything can happen within that time frame. And as a contingency when you are required to confirm attendance by the institution you applied to you can always defer to fall semester (September). All the best just make sure you submit before the month runs out. |

Type into Google -"list of DLI Universities in Canada ",it should direct you to Canada Immigration Website.... You can check your intended school... Colleges that are attached to a university share the same DLI number. Cheers Yes, I think that clarifies everything. Cic website will have the details. |

Franksuka: Someone should respond to me please... Let me ease your worries, DLI (Designated Learning Institutes) are institutions that have been verified by the Canadian Government to allow international student enroll for their academic programs. It doesn't end there, you also get the chance to apply for post graduate work permit if you completed your studies from a DLI Institute. So you can 100% go ahead and submit your study application. P.S: In the application form for your visa you have to type the Schools #DLI number. So if the school isn't a verified dli institute you would know. So stop getting your self worried. I wish you all the best. |
