Mankindman: Pa Emma, You r making me to laff, how can an old wine in an old skin be 28yrs ? Sounds impossible and hard to believe. That means u registered your current Monica in 2013 at age 18 yrs. I can say it vividly that the wisdom in your posts 📫 shows you are in late 40s. I have been following you and Agbalowomeri investment philosophy for more than 7 years, at the time, my portfolio was a mustard seed, now a giant 🌳. If you are truly 28 yrs, then I duff my hat 👒 😉 for you, the wisdom, knowledge and understanding that I have been privileged to acquire from your posts cannot be quantified. You and Agbalowomeri should just team up and start an 👷♀️ an investment club. All the same, May you live 🙏 ✨️ in good health, wealth, long life and prosperity. Amen. He is averaging down |

ositadima1: I like to program in my spare time and setup is done once, optimize once in a while. It's not stressful at all, because everything is automated. I even run my entire workflow on my mobile phone. From data updating to screening, it only takes a few minutes. These days, you can run Jupyter notebooks on your mobile phone. I just need to download the daily price list that Morgan sends me every day at around 3 PM. Then, with a few clicks, I'm done. If I see any interesting tickers, I can analyze them further. It's really not hard at all. That's my way shaaa. Is it possible to run the screener on different time frames based on the required criteria? |

The strategy isn't the most important thing. Most strategy probably has some value. The most important thing is discipline. It takes discipline to go against the herd. To buy when others are fearful and bailing out, to sell when your stock is overvalued but prices are still going up. |

essentialone: Beware of those who after making a stock Recommendation, then tells you to do your Due Diligence also. In this market where people stake in their livelihood, one should make no recommendations if not certain of the fundamentals of the stock. Asking for due diligence is an invitation to go and look at the company yourself and see if you'll arrive at the same conclusion before you put in your money. Nothing wrong in that. What'll be greater is after reviewing the company, you come back to the forum with your own opinion for or against investing in the stock. That'll make the conversation on this forum to be more robust. |

onegentleguy: Most folks are always in a hurry to make bold assertions from a coys SPL. Again, look beyond the SPL and take a deep dive into the SCF and BS.
Only if you saw the massive/triple digit growth accross key VPD including but not limited to the coys NCP, FCFE, CCC, CGPR, FCF and JPBG with the 1st 2 determinant printing a 107% and 297% positive line. For a company operating in a broadly capital intensive sector, TRANSCORP managed to achieve all this with just 4% increase in NDP from lower EFIR (debt stance) despite the jump in capital allocation... yet even lower CBR.
Hear this bro; TRANSCORP did well at delivering value!
The days of <N1 TRANSCORP may we'll be behind us! Perhaps there's something Sir Tony and FO need to tell us.
It is well Glossary: SPL- Statement of Profit and loss, SCF- Statement of cash flow, BS- Balance Sheet, FCFE- Free cash flow to equity, FCF- free cash flow, NCP-net cash position, NDP- net debt position. This is the ones I have learnt so far. |

onegentleguy: Relax my dear. ...there's absolutely no cause for alarm. What if I tell you that GT did slightly better than ZENITH on more VPD in view of their YE, 2022 Nos? What if I tell you that GT currently "carry a bit more value with it" than ZENITH? (MoS/RRM from FVE)
Both coys are ok, but I have a slight preference for one ahead of the other.
Again, PAT does not always tell the whole story. Look beyond the SPL and consider deeply their SCF and BS position.
I currently do not hold any of the 2 at the moment but if I were to consider an entry, it would be a 60-40% fund allocation (portfolio weighting in view) in favor of GTB. (ahead of ZENITH) ...of course, using an appropriate trade set-up.
As with ZENITH, the match in div pay from previous year (for GT) might be management's deliberate strategy to calm any expected sell off that may have otherwise built-in from the drop in NPM. Could also be a way of telling us that the banks growth trajectory could be sustained in 2023. (Q1, 2023 Nos will give us a clue though)
No thanks to the many structural deficiencies in the system, these banks appear to have built themselves in a manner that gives them the needed shock absorber to take in these sought of loses. (impairments in view)
On the share price, I think that dividend hunters (div growth investors) might want to hold... perhaps until post ex-dividend. I expect a drop in price thereafter. Again, I think Q1 and possibly H1, 2023 Nos will to a large extent determine the share price movement.
We'll see how the market reacts to this. VPD,MOS/RRM, SPL, SCF and BS position. Haba, Oluwa mi ero. Show us lesser mortals some mercy |

Market Quote: "Price is what you pay, value is what you get" Meaning: The quote seeks to bring awareness to the fact that price and value are not the same thing. To be an intelligent investor, you must be able to exploit this to your advantage. You must be able to know what you are getting in exchange for your money. This plays out best in a bear market where If you are able to buy a sound company really cheap you do not need a soothsayer to tell you that the profits will be massive somewhere along the line. |

Market Quote- "The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent" Meaning: irrational pricing of quality stocks gives rise to opportunity for investors to make gain in the market but after buying during a time of irrationality, there's no telling how long you'll have to wait for the market to reprice your stock. So if you bought with debt, you might be forced out of your position before the market becomes rational. Lesson: Don't borrow to invest if your planned means of repaying the debt is through capital appreciation. |

Market Quote: "in the short run,the market is a voting machine. In the long run, it is a weighing machine" Meaning: Any stock can gain in price in the short run simply because it's popular and many people are buying it but in the long run, only quality stocks with strong fundamentals will be worth keeping when the chaff will be separated from the wheat. |

Does anyone have a good knowledge about power plant future goal According to the nairametrics article, PE is around 12.5. Which in my opinion is not outrageous when compared with other sizable companies in the non financial industry but what I'd really like to see is the quality of their earnings; how much is their receivables, how much do they carry in debt compared with the equity, what is the free cashflow like etc. Anyone who can help with their 5 year report please. |

Gfab20: I advise you to stay away from them as far as you can. Just go on Instagram and Twitter and search TGIC and see what their members have been subjected to (though they have been actively deleting negative comments about them and doing image laundering on IG).
At the end of the day, its still your choice to make. Thanks a lot for your comments though I never had the intention of giving anyone my funds to invest for me. What I'm looking for is a place where I can get good information upon which I may act. Here used to be great for the above purpose but accusations of monkey hunting has chased many of our ogas away. |
