Pay attention to the bolded text.

Jesus was referring to Satan and his demons, not literal serpents/scorpions.

God was issuing warnings there, and thus used some very strong language.

God is not saying I will literally force your oppressors to cut off their own/neighbors flesh to eat.

He is saying" I will destroy your oppressors" using a hyperbole or exaggerated speech.

There is no indication that Daniel accepted this worship. He probably didn't rebuke the king directly, because he was king, while Daniel was just a captive subject.

All glory was still given to God anyway.

In just one chapter(rev 12), he is called the serpent three times. Another name often used interchangeably is "the dragon".
