With social media, everyone has a voice. With everyone demanding accountability, the performance of the next 4 years will be greater than that of the last 8 years.

Great write up.

Where did this one come out from again?
The dude is making absolute sense and i implore you read though his observations and recommendations.

In summary he is saying GMB should not be carried away by the supposed sudden olive branch being extended to him, strengthen his security apparatus and avoid Aso Rock for now. If for any reason he is killed before May 29, it will imply returning to the drawing board and extension of time for the present government.

I think he is making loads of sense!
PoliticsRe: Tinubi's Reaction To Oba Rilwan Akiolu's Statement. by realborn(m): 7:29am On Apr 08, 2015
I agree with everything Jagaban has said.

The APC government has made efforts to carry other ethnic tribes along in a peaceful manner.

I think the Oba's gaffe should be put aside and Igbos should however vote the candidate of their choice.

Mama Peace has suddenly disappeared from the radar since her husband conceded defeat.

Such is life.

NB
If Jonathan had a fresh opportunity, I am certain he would put a permanent masking tape on Patience's mouth.

GEJ was the hope for a presidency of zero ostentation. He unfortunately arrogated excess spoil of the land to himself and household. Today, he would watch Buhari lead the people with extreme humility.

The fanfare of gifting will wane gradually. As May 29 approaches, he would gradually see no friend to worship him as they have always done.

Once again, such is life!

PoliticsRe: Yoruba Leaders Expose Corrupt Dealings Between Fashola And Tinubu by realborn(m): 10:10am On Mar 27, 2015
@Post,

Odumakin's remarks are extremely shocking.

Why garnish lies in a bid to crucify an enemy? This is the most dishonorable piece I have read by another Yoruba man claiming to be a leader.

If Tinubu handpicked Fashola to lead Lagos after him, then I must commend him for the vision even when the man had no notable experience.

I have lived most of my life in Lagos and I wish to share some of my observed notable achievements by Mr Fashola:

1. Over 50% of Lagos State Owned key collector roads have been made good and very motorable. Few references within my route are Victoria Island, Lekki, Surulere, Ogba, Lagos Island (by Tinubu). I am sure there has been tremendous efforts in road construction in every Local Government.

2. The initiative for the Falomo Ramp and the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge is the most strategic decision ever and worthy of commendation. Prior to now, moving through Victoria Island to Lekki and Ikoyi to Lekki was a herculean task at peak periods. Today, it is a different positive story. Traffic has been aptly diffused and productivity within this major economic West Africa hub improved. The Ozunba Mbadiwe upgrade has been very useful. The impact of the toll gate on this road has been cushioned by the alternative routes and the bridge mentioned above. Traffic lights have also been duly maintained through these years to keep behaviour of road users in order.

3. Turning slums into befitting residential estates. Sogunro Area of Ogba used to be a notorious zone. Today an apposite contemporary Estate built by NTDA sits on the same land under the Lagos HOMS initiative.

4. The initiative to execute a light rail transportation is applaudable. Lagos was the pacesetter on this subject and others followed suit. If completed it will be a flagship model to adopt to address the militating traffic challenges if this highlt populous and dense State.

5. Upgrade of General Hospitals across the State

6. Strategic Independent Power Projects to supply power to key Street lights and government facilities/utilities.

7. State investment in Agriculture by acquiring land for mechanised farming purposes and job creation.

8. Introduction of BRT buses. First ever of its kind.

9. Revamp of the Ministry of Physical Planning processes leading to prompt development approvals and in turn construction projects within the main business hub.

10. The vision for the Eko Atlantic Project is commendable. I have my reservations with the location but will like to read the Environmental Impact Assessment before making further comments.

I have no information on Education and availability of potable water. As it is the norm in Lagos, we rely on domestic Borehole and water treatment plants for potable water supply.
Notwithstanding the good observations I have highlighted above, I cannot argue about Fashola's sanctity. I also believe he would have achieved more if he was more sincere, less corrupt and had no godfather to service. Albeit, with a near zero support from the FG which is shocking for a key economic hub, he has developed Lagos way beyond what it used to be.

I will rate his performance 52% comparing the achievements with the total revenue. In my opinion, he has performed way above any Governor (on consideration of the population and nomenclature of other States) and in multiple times better than the FG.

Odumakin should "ronu"!
Politics#2015NigeriaElections - "Before You Decide Who To Vote For" by realborn(op): 12:40am On Mar 27, 2015
Recently, we engaged a coy to provide QA/QC services on one of our projects. I expressed my desire to the coy's Principal to have a particular Staff lead their team. Reasons: He has worked with me on a previous project and we get along so well. He has an amazing personality with commendable interpersonal skills and quite intelligent too. He obliged me.

Two weeks after, there was a tussle for this amiable and astute Staff to abandon my project and return to his previous project (which has a stringent timeline) also within the purview of the coy I represent. I had no choice but to let go. I was quite sad that after he spent a week to acquaint and align himself appropriately to the requirements of the job and another week to drive progress and at the peak and helm of gaining momentum he had to be recalled.

Same day he left, a new team lead arrived. At a first glance, I gave him no chance. He did not exude the same physical gait as the previous lead. I gave him a quick task to promptly review his responsibilities and deliverables and revert within 72hrs. In a stunning turnaround time of 15 hours, he returned with apt queries and questions. He gave an apposite interpretation of the scope, issues and solutions. I was wowed. He is presently my favorite team player on the project.

Key reasons we make some wrong decisions are as follows:
- Distorting attachments
- Emotional tagging
- Pattern recognition
- Self Interests
- Misleading memories

As we go to the polls on Saturday to vote for the Presidential Candidate of our choice, I beseech us all to think sustainability, think the future of Nigeria, and vote wisely. Change in the present approach will definitely bring transformation. Transformation also leads to positive Change in behaviour, attitude and perception. They are both good. What is however pertinent is sincerity of purpose!

Sometimes, I wonder how the C in C can continuously lead jamborees with haughty smiles in these trying times. I am more baffled at how his supporters are ready to psycho-emotionally maim critics with barrage of insults despite his bare gaffes and evidence of inability to aptly govern a nation like ours.

How ridiculous can a President be? At least he should remember that a war is ongoing in the North East and should honour our indefatigable soldiers with a sober but stern reflective look....

What an irony of two front page tales!

K9blunt:
I disagree with you about lessening sentences based on sudden changes from a criminal, do you know how many deaths the guy has caused? he has to go through the full sentence and make an example of other wannabe heroin traffickers . and further more had it been he succeeded on his last operation that failed, do you think he would have repented?
fine he's repented , you can wish him well on the afterlife , but not to pardon him, he has to be punished and if (though it is) it is death, then so be it.
Your opinion on the issue makes a lot of sense and you are absolutely correct within the tenets of the law.

The compassionate plea in my penultimate post is because I have equally sinned in many ramifications that should have led to grave consequences perhaps not before the law but before God, notwithstanding I have received tremendous grace, mercy and favour.

It is however well.

Quite sad. Really wish death sentences could be reduced to lesser sentences on evidence that such convicts have attained a state of genuine remorse, especially when they have become useful and affect lives in their new found confined community, the Prison!

It is well. Mr Dili, may heaven receive your soul. May more lives be affected positively by your story.

CultureRe: Intersting Facts About The Kalabari Ijaws Of Rivers State (PICTURES) by realborn(m): 5:18pm On Mar 24, 2015
Was at Buguma Kingdom last Friday for an IYA marriage of my brother-in-law at the Town Council Building and was stunned at the existence of such a close knit settlement with bubbly economic activities and residents. The architecture of the buildings in mixed precolonial and colonial themes was fascinating. Roads were interlocked and main entrance doors of buildings opened directly to the narrow alley but well organised and maintained roads. I loved the scenery deeply.

The people are extremely accommodating. The preservation of cultural values and tradition is amazing. Was surprised that a traditional council of chiefs existed to administer marriages and issue certificates. As a Yoruba indigene I was quite impressed. The process of my traditional marriage to my beloveth Yoruba wife did not have such related connotations.

I love Buguma and look forward to visit soon and possibly make a documentary. To think that the kingdom existed since the 15th century and transportation has been by water until 2001 was a shocking revelation.

The central government should make efforts to connect all related kingdoms that are yet to have connecting bridges to land.

The 40 mins drive from Choba was worthwhile!

Gradually, the King has suddenly become unpopular in his kingdom.

Make hay while the sun shines.

No matter the gimmicks by the incumbent, a large cross section of Nigerians are no longer interested. They can pre-write the results for all I care. History will always allude to the fact that a man rode to the top on a high horse of luck but was rejected due to his poor performance!

You can't bribe 180 million Nigerians. .
