Muslims in the South-west region under the auspices of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) have called on Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos) to establish Shari‘ah Courts in the region.

The Muslims said the creation of the Shari’ah Courts in the six states of the region became necessary in order to cater for the yearnings of Muslims who are in the majority.


MUSWEN made the demand yesterday in a communiqué signed by the duo of Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni and Prof. Wole Abbas at the end of 4th MUSWEN General Assembly held in Ibadan themed: “Muslim Unity and Contemporary Political Challenges in Nigeria” and made available to THISDAY.

Sanni, who doubled as Chairman of the event and Abbas who is the Chairman, 4th General Assembly in the communiqué, maintained that the Shari’ah Courts when established would replace Shari‘ah panels being operated presently by Muslim organisations in the region.

The organisation also insisted that institution of Hijab was sacrosanct in Islam and could not be compromised for Muslim girls and women in any part of the country, frowning at what it termed as a political lopsidedness against Muslims in the South-west and at the federal level.

The communiqué also announced the appointment of Prof. Muslih Yahya, a retired Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies from University of Jos as the new Executive Secretary, following the expiration of the tenure of the pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. Dawud Noibi.

The communiqué read in part: “That Shari‘ah Courts should be established by governments in the South-western Nigeria in catering for the yearnings of Muslims who are in the majority to replace Shari‘ah Panels being operated presently by Muslim organisations. To ensure proper administration of justice, MUSWEN advocates urgent judicial reform, taking a cue from the principle of Islamic Judicial System.

“That there have been some modest improvements in the state of the nation under the present administration. That the federal government should intensify efforts to diversify the economy of the nation. That Muslims in the country should go about demanding for their rights in accordance with the law.

“That institution of Hijab is sacrosanct in Islam and cannot be compromised for Muslim girls and women in any part of the country. That MUSWEN acknowledges the harmonious activities of the indefatigable President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR, mni and urges all Muslim Organisations in the South-west to cooperate with him in his efforts at piloting the affairs of Nigerian Muslim Ummah.

“That MUSWEN should champion the provision of qualitative education to teeming Muslim youths in order to reduce poverty and other acts of insecurity in the country.

“That the Ummah mourned the exit of its immediate past President, Dr. Sakariyau Babalola, and prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and repose his soul in eternal bliss, Aamin. The Ummah also appreciates its outgoing pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. Dawud Noibi (OBE) who delivered a valedictory speech, for piloting the affairs of MUSWEN since inception to its current state.

“That material wealth should not be the criterion of eligibility for political office. That the Ummah frowns at political lopsidedness against the Muslims in the South-west and at the federal level. That Muslims in all political positions regardless of their party affiliation should unite to support matters relating to Islam as well as of national interest.

“That MUSWEN further reiterates its commitment to Hijab struggle not only in the South-west but throughout the country as provided for, under freedom of religion in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That the issue of Hijab controversy at the International School, University of Ibadan should be legitimately pursued and that the Ummah should do so within the ambits of the law.

“That following expiration of the tenure of the pioneer Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Professor Dawud Noibi, the General Assembly ratified the appointment of Professor Muslih Yahya, a retired Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies from University of Jos to become the new Executive Secretary effective from the date of the General Assembly.

“That the death of MUSWEN’s immediate past President, Dr. S. O. Babalola calls for the appointment of a new President and other principal officers. The General Assembly gave the task to the Central Working Committee (CWC) to make recommendations to fill the vacant positions within six months.”

Land will become an issue in the future and if we allow structures to just spring from nowhere and everywhere, we won't be having anywhere to farm, grow businesses and build factories. We won't have anywhere to go for leisure nor a place for wildlife. We need to think about the next 100years because we know what will happen if we keep growing at this steady rate, what will happen in the future.

I proposing that we build large housing estates in every state that can have 5million housing units in the form of skyscrapers and we either start selling or renting such facilities out.

These are big investments that can generate huge sums for the government and investors. For example, the chinese built Kilamba with 3.5billion dollars. Very beautiful city with very beautiful scenery. We can either lure foreign investors or we make our local billionaires invest in this line of business like the chagoury group is doing with Lagos. They can either make their money through leasing or outright sales of these properties.

If we do this in the 5 igbo states, then we will have solved one of the biggest future problems in the region. This will create more business for SMEs and we will have driven poverty out to an extent.

The 2023 battle for the seat of the President, federal republic of Nigeria is definitely on, with various interests and persons across the country already justling for the number one seat. One of such persons is a frontline politician and the current leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alh Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Bola Tinubu is, by all standards, an astute politician who's political cunning, bravery, and sacrifice in the 2015 political calculations, led to the defeat of a sitting President and the constitution of the present APC led federal government.

As a Nigerian, Tinubu has the inalienable right to contest for the seat of the president, having shown capacity to rule and groom young persons. However, at a time Nigerians are almost desperate for a leader with integrity and political will to extricate the country from the extreme hardship experienced across the country, one would naturally get curious if making a former drug lord the president is a wise choice for Nigeria.

For most persons, this political icon is known only for his political prowess during his time as the governor of Lagos state, when he confronted the then president Olusegun Obasanjo and the duo had a standoff that lasted several years. Consequently, Tinubu was able to build the Internally Generated Revenue base of the state enough to sustain itself and carryout development.

What most people don't know about the leader of the APC is that he is a convicted drug peddler who had to forfeit a fortune to the United States of America on conviction of drug related charges and escaped prison through a plea bargain.

According our investigation, the United State's District Court, Eastern District of Illinois, Eastern Division ordered the forfeiture of funds belonging to Alh Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held in nine different accounts in First Heritage Bank, Citi Bank NA and Citi Bank Int'l, in a case docketed and dated October 5th, 1993 after he was convicted of Narcotics trafficking.

Part of the document titled Decree of Forfeiture as to funds held by Heritage Bank, the court posited that, "the United States filed a verified complaint for forfeiture against the funds in the above-captioned defendant's accounts because there was probable cause to believe that the property represented the proceeds of Narcotics Trafficking or was property involved in financial transaction in violation of U.S.C. SS 1956 and 1957 and was therefore forfeitable to the United States, pursuant to 21 U.S.C. 5……".

Our investigation reveal that, the Nigerian born Don Corleone, decidedly, forfeited his entire fortune held in nine accounts with these banks in a plea bargain in order to escape prison, just six years before he was elected the executive governor of Lagos state.

As a Nation, Nigeria celebrates persons with political cunning but equally abhors persons with questionable characters, knowing that bad habits die hard.

The question now is that, has this drug Lord repented from his past, changed his ways to become new creation to be trusted with political leadership of a country?

His exploits in the APC and previously as the Lagos state governor offer a clue.

Drug lords rule and control their territory with ferocious viciousness and cruelty typical only in the animal kingdom. They believe more in survival of the fittest and elimination of the weak and competition, and pay little interests in constituted authority.

As the Lagos state governor, Tinubu turned the 'No Man's Land' to his personal empire, grooming his Lieutenants, expanding his coast to other Western states and confronting any discordant voices with cruel proclivity.

It is this sense of ownership that shut Lagos state out of federal allocation for years during his time as the state governor. The same sense of ownership played out again in the last general election, leading to the desertion of then governor Ambode who the Don allegedly felt was not subservient and loyal enough to continue as state governor in his empire.

While some persons may argue that this manifest sense ownership inspires development, the Nigerian experience with this present and previous administrations shows that those who claim ownership of the system, either as cabal or any other form do so for their personal aggrandizement at the detriment of the generality of the people.

It is therefore imperative that Nigerians understand clearly the kind of President Bola Tinubu would be based on his antecedents as a convicted drug peddler, a dictatorial governor, a Don Corleone- like godfather of Lagos politics, and the leader of the APC.

THE HUMILIATION OF THE VILLA FIEND

In September 2019 I tweeted the following to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

"Ambassador Ayo Oke, the former Director General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency, took care of you. He paid your bills and protected you. He kept all your dirty little secrets. He gave you wise counsel and comforted you even when you shed tears and said you couldn’t take it anymore. All this yet you sold him down the river. Your fingers have finally been caught in the cooky jar and your benefactors and detractors have begun their work. They have demoted you, humiliated you, used you and dumped you. By the time they finish with you you will wish that you had never been born. Worse still Oke is no longer there to help you. Poor chap. Politics is a terrible thing when compared to the legal profession. This is especially so when you are a Professor of Law. At least you can go back to your pastoral work at Redeemed Christian Church of God when all else fails. My prayers are with you.”

A few days later I added the following, again in reference to the Vice President.

"If the short man doesn’t resign within six months they will soon be sending him to wash toilets. You came in on the same ticket, you sold your soul, you betrayed your people, your tribe, your region and your faith and you sucked your boss’ rectum for four years!

Look at what you got in return! Shame on you!”

Two months down the line both tweets have proved to be prophetic. They also signified the beginning of the end for our Pastor and Professor.

Over the last two months, despite all pretentions to the contrary, things have gone downhill for him and he appears to be a drowning man. It is only a matter of time before the final offensive and assault is unleashed against him by his traducers in the Presidency, the axe falls and he is finally thrown out.

I have been reliably informed that three names, all from the South West, have been penned down and are all being considered as his possible replacement. If this proves to be true I would not be the least bit surprised because those that ride on the back of the tiger always end up in its stomach.

The question that arises is what our reaction ought to be to the way the Vice President is being treated.

In this respect, insightful, sensible and refreshing are the words of Chief Yinka Odumakin, the erudite and courageous spokesman of Afenifere, when he said, on behalf of the Omo Karo Jires and the sons and daughters of Oduduwa, that

"Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is being humiliated and NOT the South West. He has never supported the South West since he became Vice President". (Sunday Vanguard, 10th November 2019).

I wholeheartedly concur.

I am also encouraged by the fact that Baba Ayo Adebanjo, the number two man in Afenifere, one of the most reverred and respected elders and leaders in Nigeria and a man that I am prepared to follow into battle blindfolded, said that he had told Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President Osinbajo to "leave the APC".

He said, "I don't want to be dragged into the issue. What has he done that the South West has benefitted from? I am 91 years old and all I want is a better Nigeria. I have told Tinubu and Osinbajo to leave the APC". (Sunday Vanguard, 10th November 2019).

These are wise words and faultless counsel. The consequences of not heeding them, at least for Osinbajo, are now manifest for all to see and sadly the chickens are coming home to roost.

It is Osinbajo's turn to be exposed, grilled, humiliated, rubbished and dumped by the cabal today but, mark my words, it will be Tinubu's tomorrow. They shall both reap the consequences of what they have sown and the choices they made.

I do not relish in the travails of Osinbajo and to a certain extent I pity him but what I will not do is defend him in the name of South Western or Southern solidarirty or anything else. In my view he simply does not deserve that kind of support and it irks and irritates me to no end when others try to give it to him.

For example when Professor Banji Akintoye, a notable elder and respected leader from the South West who has displayed immense fortitude in recent times and who I have immense respect for, says that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo should not be treated badly by President Muhammadu Buhari because he is a son of Oduduwa, I really do wonder.

When he says he is watching events unfold I wonder what he really believes he can do to save the Vice President from the consequences of his own shameless behaviour, cowardly disposition, ignoble foibles, treacherous actions and dishoborable choices.

Osinbajo willingly opted and eagerly chose to be an eager slave to Nigeria's third and most dangerous Mahdi and to her last Amalekite King and such choices come with dire and divine consequences.

Permit me to qoute Professor Akintoye in full. He said,

"We are watching events unfold with keen interest. We are taking note of what is happening to them. Nobody should make the mistake of thinking that the "Yoruba" (his word) will be watching and allow their son to be degraded and dehumanised. It will be very difficult to advise Osinbajo because he holds a high office but my advice to him is to stick in there and let us see what they will do, then they will see what WE will do". (Sunday Vanguard, 10th November 2019).

The question here is who are the "we"? Maybe Osinbajo's shrinking circle and coterie of friends, family, loyalists and supporters but kindly leave the rest of us out. The rest of us do not wish to get involved and neither do we care!

With the greatest respect, on this particular matter Professor Akintoye certainly does not speak for me or for any of those that share my views. He may have his opinion and he is certainly entitled to it but I also have mine and so do millions of others.

In any case does he know the atrocities that Osinbajo has secretly committed against the South West and indeed the entire South behind closed doors over the last few years?

Does he know how many sons and daughters of Oduduwa that he is trying to bring to their knees and destroy? Does he know what he did to Prince Deji Adeyanju, a fellow Oduduwan? Does he know the role he played in the arrest and prolonged detention of Omoyele Sowore, another son of the Anago?

Does he know how many sons and daughters of the South West Osinbajo is trying to send to jail for no just cause and for doing nothing wrong other than the fact that they refused to bend the knee and bow to his principal Muhammadu Buhari and simply because he wants to sacrifice them and please his northern masters?

Does he know how many sons and daughters of Oduduwa he has locked up and detained unlawfully? Does he know how mich wickedness he has infllicted on his own Karo Jire kinsmen?

Does he know the disdain and contempt he has shown Oduduwans, southerners and Christians, who he is meant to represent on the presidential ticket, over the last few years.

Sentiment ought to be left out of this. There is nothing worse than a traitor and Osinbajo is the greatest and biggest traitor to the Oduduwan and southern cause in Nigerian history.

A man that opted to align with and support those that oppposed the proscription of Boko Haram? A man that said we should pray for Fulani herdsmen as they rape and slaughter our wives and children?

A man that said the mass murder, genocide and ethnic cleansing of our people by the Fulani militias in Nigeria was exagerrated?

A man that travelled abroad and said all African countries are corrupt? A man that poured scorn and insults on all those that stood up to the tyranny and hegemony of his Fulani masters over the last four years?

A man that refused to see the President of CAN in his first 3 years in office as Vice President and only spoke to him through the Villa chaplain? A man that spent the better part of the last 4 years trying to weaken, discredit and destroy CAN?

A man that celebrated and encouraged the slaughter of IPOB members, including women and children? A man who stood by silently and turned a blind eye whilst his security aides beat up a journalist at the Presidential Villa and smashed his camera?

A man that sold his soul to the devil and served the Fulani cabal to the best of his ability. A man that has sat by silently as the Judiciary, Natiional Assembly and all our reverred institutions and lesders in the south and Middle Belt are rubbished?

A man that has told all manner of lies against President Olusegun Obasanjo, President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Atiku Abubakar and countless other opposition leaders brandishing them as corrupt and unfit for public office whilst he serves the most corrupt, racist, vicious,, sectional and oppressive Government in our entire history?

A man that insulted Afenifere leaders and those that called for restructuring and desctibed them as jobless people that are just seeking for relevamce? A man that insulted his own in-law, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, by saying he was wrong when he described Nigeria as a mere geograohical expression?

A man that has betrayed his owm mentor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu? A man that that used his Redeemrd Church and his spiritual dather to split Christendom and help put in place an eviil Anti-Christ Governmrnt.

I have no sympathy for Osinbanjo and I do not think any southermer, Middle Belter or Christian that is in his right mind oight to either.

He is a disgrace to Oduduwa, to the south, to the Church, to Christendom and to the God that He claims to love and serve. Worse of all he is a worthless coward! A man that considers his political career as being more important than the life of a believer.

A man that said nothing when a lady Pastor from his own Redeemed Church was murderd by islamists and jihadists in cold bllod right on his doorstep in Abuja?

A man that lacks courage, wisdom, humanity, decency, charity and compassion.

Is that realy a man or is he just a whimp? Is that a servant of God? Is that a believer?

I say to hell with such a man. He dies not deserve any support or sympathy from any quarter. He entered into a demonic Faustian pact gladly and willingly in 2015 when he joined Buhari. We warnrd him but he woild not listen. He wined and dined with the devil and now the devil has come for his soul.

I say let him perish with it. No-one can resist the judgement of God and it will take a lot more than Professor Akintoye to save him from that.

Those that speak for him in tte name of Oduduwa solidarity would do well to do their homework about this man. They should speak for themselves and not me.

Osinbajo made his bed and he should be allowed to lie in it. If he had any decency he would have resigned by now but he lacks self-respect and honor so he can never do so.

He is motivated by nothing but greed and ambition and that greed and ambitiin will surely destroy and consume him.

Permit me to end this contribution with the following which I believe captures Osinbajo's status as an errand boy that is unworthy of our support rather well. It was sent to me by a friend. He wrote,

1. His helicopter crashed but instead of him to proceed to a hospital his boss asked him to continue sharing trader money.

2. A. Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Professor of Law, yet under him lawlessness is practiced: he deputises for a fellow who has no proof of both primary and secondary education.

3. They took a Bill to the United Kingdom for your boss to sign and publicised it to further humiliate you.

4. As an ERRAND boy, your boss sent a junior Minister to represent him in an event that you were present.

5. A real ERRAND boy... They have removed all your aides from Aso Villa to a rented apartment in Maitama.

6. ERRAND boy, you went and knelt before Abba Kyari to stop the criminal investigation against you.

7. We told you this would happen but you refused to listen. Today, your two bosses, Tinubu and Buhari, are against you.

8. As for your Pastorship, well, we don't know again.

9. Sorry! With this latest humiliation of taking a document to an ailing man without recourse to you, it serves as a confirmation that you are now a certified ERRAND boy.

Some of you seem not to understand what is happening. PMB men have lots of evidence on corruption cases by VP men and it may land them to jail. SSS guys have been keeping tabs on their activities even when PMB was rumored to be dead a lot happened which were done by VP men. Remember, Abba Kyari and his men are more of a state security experts than technocrats. Study these event unfolding from when PMB was sick by the time you put things together you will arrive at a good conclusion. Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Femi Falana, has advised the Federal Government to end the closure of the land borders into the country.

He said it would be in the national interest for the government to call off the border closure.

Rather than continue to close the land borders, Falana advised the Federal Government to “urgently dialogue with Nigeria’s neighbouring countries to jointly fight the menace of smuggling, which necessitated the border closure by Nigeria.”

The lawyer gave the advice in a statement on Thursday while delivering a paper on “Rule of Law, Good Governance and Economic Development” at the annual conference of the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Accra, Ghana.

He urged the Federal Government to reject the endorsement of its border closure policy by the International Monetary Fund.

He described IMF’s endorsement of the border closure policy as “a deliberate design to weaken ECOWAS regional integration agenda.”


Falana said, “Border closure is inconsistent with the letter and spirit of ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons, Residence and Establishment and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. The endorsement of the IMF is a deliberate design to weaken the ECOWAS regional integration agenda.

“The borders should be reopened without any further delay as it cannot be sustained for too long without serious repercussions for the Nigerian economy.

“The neighbouring countries may retaliate by imposing a ban on goods being exported from Nigeria by air. They may also close down Nigerian banks and other businesses operating in other member states of the ECOWAS.



“Instead of resorting to the unilateral closure of borders the Federal Government should drag the Republics of Benin and Niger to the Court of Justice of the ECOWAS for breaching the ECOWAS Protocol by allegedly encouraging the smuggling of petrol, rice and other products. In the alternative, smuggling should be addressed like terrorism which is being jointly combated by Nigeria and her neighbours.”

Falana argued that border closure was tantamount to imposing undue punishment on law-abiding corporate bodies and community citizens “because of the criminal activities of a few trans-border smugglers.”


He added, “The Federal Government should expose the smugglers by arresting and prosecuting them. The smugglers in Nigeria and the neighbouring countries are well-known by the security agencies. Without official connivance, the crime of smuggling cannot thrive in the region.”

I know this action will happen one day and the day has come. VP Osinbajo has long been enmeshed in shady deals in these agencies. The one of NEMA was under Barbachir former SGF. when investigation was carried out on the dirty dealings in NEMA VP Osinbajo's name was mentioned severally but the presidency died it because of the reaction that will come from PDP the opposition party. The news was currently on front page showing that the SW states owes far more debt than the SE states and also some are saying that the SE states generates more IGR than the SW (excluding Lagos).

I am playing on the National Bureau of Statistics Website and I pull the below data from their portal for SE and SW (excluding Lagos):
