Imota is far from Ikorodu town(garage). The rituals and Oro also take place there as well.... infact even Ikorodu central itself where we are still witnesses Oro 2times or more every year. The houses there are ok and light is almost 24/7 that I can assure u. Best places to get house around there... Low cost, Lucky fibre, Maya, Adamo

@ bumeks, thanks a lot. So Oro takes place in Ikorodu Central too? Na wa o. I will be working in the Imota-Salabo axis of Ikorodu . So I need all the information I can get about Ikorodu. I have heard about Lucky Fibre and Adamo. But I want to hear from other people who live in Ikorodu or have lived in Ikorodu in the past or who work there and know some things about the place. Thanks.

Hello house . Thanks for all your contributions to the Property Section of Nairaland. I have learnt a lot from you. Thanks. I need some information on Ikorodu. If you are living in Ikorodu presently or you have lived there in the past, I will be grateful to hear from you about the place. I intend securing accommodation there very soon. If you work in Ikorodu, I also want to hear from you. So here we go-

1. Which areas are the best to rent houses and live in Ikorodu? I am looking for areas near Imota and Salabo. I need a place where the roads are good and there is electricity in the area. I need a place where a Post Office operates in the area. I am looking for areas where a decent amount of people have started living in. Thanks.

2. How far is Ikorodu Central from Salabo and Imota? Which areas of Ikorodu are not good to live in? I hear ritualists operate in some areas and some Agemo festivals like that . So which areas of Ikorodu should I avoid living or settling in? Which areas have good security and good Police presence? Thanks.

3. Are there good houses to rent in Salabo and Imota, Ikorodu? Which areas of Ikorodu are closer to Salabo and Imota, where good houses can be rented? I need other areas of Ikorodu with good housing that are at least close to Salabo and Ikorodu. Like 1 hours drive to Salabo and Ikorodu. How is Ikorodu generally economy wise? Thanks.

I look forward to your answers. Thanks. .

When are we going to start organising pageantries for brains ,talents and gifted kids.. To start taking home cars, houses and millions..

The last birthday of my daughter,my criteria for winning expensive prices were answering difficult questions and speaking local dialects..then very small gifts for dancing and other games..one particular calabar girl from a poor background won gifts over 30k including cash prices(this child for no win pin if the criteria na who dance pass, who fine pass or who dress pass).Guess what ?almost all the kids in my neighborhood have been preparing (academically)for the next birthday and giftings for brilliance. The side effects of this is improved grades in school and general awareness and competitiveness in academics.. Let's encourage brains and talents among our youths..

You are the Man. Welldone. .

Bro stop spilling these nonsense. what is our life expectancy age in Nigeria? it's within 51-55yrs

with all the so called natural food, we still don't live long, so what's the fuss with all the so called natural food.

Food is expensive when relative to the average persons income, or are you oblivious to to that fact? You keep yapping natural foods natural food as if it has helped in our health.

Bro our life expectancy age is very poor, most of us commenting will not cross age 55!

Life expectancy is different from the ages actually lived before death. Many people are still living up to 80 and 90 years in Nigeria. Early death occurs because of different reasons. Self inflicted sicknesses, drinking and smoking excessively, uncontrolled sex etc cut lives short all over the world. Don't be fooled by statistics piled on Nigeria by European and American agencies.

Are people not dying at age 55 in developed nations? don't place a curse on yourself. People die at young ages in advanced nations with all the medical facilities too.

No one, you based most of your argument on eating natural food, and also talked about Canada using immigrants to oil the wheel of her economy as if there's anything wrong in that. Nigeria that is using her citizens to oil the wheel of her economy, where has it taken her to, poverty capital of the world, just as the same Nigerian citizens claim, which in my view is not true anyway.

Now talking about eating natural food or not, ever since I've moved to Canada, I've been eating Okomu Oil from Delta, and I bought it right here in Milton, from my fellow Nigerian at farmstead. She sells yellow garri, white Ìjẹ̀bú garri, Yam fluour (elubọ̀), Maggi chicken, Knorr Chiken, Milo, Ola-Ola poundo Yam, bitter leaf, dry ugu, name it. Indomie, semolina, etc. And I buy my life Ogunfe, killed fresh same day, in Brampton. So, if it is food, I mean Nigerian Food, sis you missed it.

If I pay 25 dollars for a plate of eba and vegetables in Canada, that's like roughly 7k in náírà. That's less than an what I make as income in an hour. Besides, it is not even true that we spend that much to eat eba and vegetables in our house in Canada. We cook in our homes. The truth is no matter how you try to demonise it, they are no where compareble.

Right now, as I type this, I'm in the hospital to see my family doctor and everything is FREE of charge, covered by OHIP -Ontario Health Insurance Plan.

Hmn. Feed your family on African food in Canada for 12 months and check out the bill. No be Moi Moi o. I don't want to discuss other aspects of immigration to Canada as I will write a PhD thesis on Nairaland. Sadly, we have very lazy and greedy politicians in Nigeria who don't know how to run a country effectively. Colonialism and the Transatlantic Slave Trade caused most of the problems Nigeria is having today. However, amidst all these problems confronting Nigeria, there are boundless opportunities and good chances of succeeding in Nigeria. Like I said, there is nothing wrong in living in Canada. Everyone to his or her own.

African food is expensive abroad and you will have to shell out a lot of money to eat stuff like Eba, Amala, Semovita, Ewedu, Ogbono, Bitterleaf etc on a daily or regular basis for yourself . Not to talk of feeding your family on African food. These are things we must understand. You will never understand the advantage you have in eating natutal food. Do you know how nutritious Cocoyam is? The same Cocoyam we used to plant in our homes in Nigeria in the 70's, 80's and 90's . Do you know how nutritious Millet and Sorghum are? Do you know how many different types of meals you can make from Millet and Sorghum? We have so many vegetables that grow wild in Nigeria or can be cultivated on a large scale. Why did we stop planting food crops in our homes? Have you not noticed that you tend to grow weaker in Canada, UK or the USA over the years as you eat processed food all the time, and see very little of the Sun? Hmn.

Let me make my own case on this matter. You do not have to agree with me on what I am going to say. This is just my take and opinion on this topic .

Most of the food in Canada is processed food. You have the opportunity of eating natural food in Nigeria 85% of the time. Most African meals are very natural and nutritious without any processing input. In Canada, most of the food will be in Cans,Tins and Packets. We don't value what we have in Africa. The western world is a business machine that keeps grinding on a 24 hours basis. This machine needs immigrants to keep it running. Immigrants are the fuel that makes Canada, USA, UK etc run well. There is no doubt about that. Everything in Canada is organized in such a way that the Country benefits from you more than you benefit from the Country. Yes, the system is not perfect in Nigeria and we have a lot of problems. If we can remove the GREED that dwells in a lot of Nigerians, the country will be better for it. Our Parents should take it easy in their quest to 'eat the fruits of their Labour'. They should stop using all sorts of tricks and lies to obtain money from their children sometimes. If we can sort out this problem of an 'Entitlement Mentality' from our society in Nigeria, Nigeria will become one of the best places to live in the world.

If you are in Nigeria, you have the luxury of eating very natural food from all parts of the country. Food prices are different all over the country. You can grow most crops in Nigeria in your home, I'm telling you. Why did people stop having gardens in their home in Nigeria? Western food is not that nutritious and this is why you find Asian Restaurants having a lot of patronage from white people. I have seen family members who are 60 years + in UK,USA etc and they have not achieved much. That plate of Eba and vegetable soup you will eat tonight, do you know how much you will pay for it in Canada? What about the mental illnesses and cancer among the whites and native populations of Canada, Australia etc? If you continue eating this Processed food for a long time, coupled with the weather, you might develop illnesses as time goes on. There are so many Positives and Negatives of living in Canada or in Nigeria . One thing I know is that Nigeria is a very virgin and untapped land which has a lot of opportunities. There is nothing wrong in emigrating to Canada though. Cheers.

poverty capital of the world indeed!dont br fooled by the fake statistics the white bandy about.if I may ask u what are the indices the so called whites take into consideration before arriving at thier stupid figures.u want to tell me the whites stay in the villages to know such indices as pci, standard of living etc.its not all what a white man tells u that is correct

In Nigeria, people will eat good food in their house and log on to Nairaland to complain that they are not eating well. They will eat very good eba, amala, iyan and soup on Sunday and still complain that things are hard for them. They are eating healthy and natural food than the Oyinbo people o . Yet, they believe the whites are living better than them. Hmn.

Why do West African countries give their football teams nicknames like Teranga Lions of Senegal, Indomitable Lions of Cameroun etc. This means there are lions native to these countries. So, lion cubs can be purchased from these neighboring countries and sprinted into Nigeria via road transport. Cameroun is very close to Nigeria, you know . Hmn.

There are lions roaming in the Savannah regions of Nigeria. Lions have also been spotted in some rocky areas of southern Nigeria. This Indian man could have purchased the lion when it was a cub from a Zoo in Nigeria. The University of Ibadan Zoo Manager was questioned around the year 2000 by the Federal Government of Nigeria because 2-3 cubs of the lioness at the UI Zoological Garden went missing . I still remember the story which was published by some Nigerian newspapers. Many wealthy Nigerians have big Cats in their homes ( Lions, Tigers, Leopards etc ). So it is not too hard to get a Lion cub in Nigeria. You just need to know those who breed these Cats in their homes or private Zoos.

It is Kehinde who died this morning in New York, USA. Taiwo Lijadu is still alive. Thanks.

The United Bank for Africa ( UBA ) is officially partnering with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( LCCI ) to host this year's edition of the Lagos International Trade Fair. From what we have gathered, 2000 Companies and Businesses will be exhibiting their products at the fair this year. 200 foreign companies from 16 Countries will be participating at this year's event, with Japan topping the list with 37 Companies.

Japan will have a huge presence at the event. The Chinese companies will also want to make their presence felt at the Tafawa Balewa Square from the 1st of November to the 10th of November 2019. Over 500,000 visitors are expected to attend the 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair. BE THERE.

Date: 1st to 10th November, 2019.

Venue: Tafawa Balewa Square ( TBS ), Lagos, Nigeria.

Time: 8.00 AM to 6.00 PM daily.

The 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair will take place from the 1st to the 10th of November 2019 @ the Tafawa Balewa Square ( TBS ), Lagos, Nigeria. The fair is organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( LCCI ). LCCI has been organizing the fair since 1986. The Lagos International Trade Fair has become a major event in Nigeria and it attracts a lot of foreign exhibitors from different countries in Asia, America and Europe. The 2019 Edition is promising to be a very exciting event as spaces at venue of the fair, Tafawa Balewa Square ( TBS ), Lagos, sold out quickly. Here are five reasons you should attend the fair.

1. Discovering New Products: Manufacturers and Companies all over the world always use trade fairs to showcase their new products. When you attend a trade fair, you are mostly likely to come across products you have not seen in Shops and Supermarkets in your neighborhood. You might have been looking for a specific product online or in shops around where you live, without any success. However, when you attend a trade fair, you will come across different brands of the product you are looking. You should also note that it is not every product that Manufacturers place in their Catalogs, especially in Nigeria. Many Manufacturers in Nigeria do not have brochures and catalogs for their products. By attending the Lagos International Trade Fair, you are opening yourself to a sea of products.

2. Getting Discount Prices For Products: It is true that the prices of goods and products are cheaper and more affordable at trade fairs. Companies and Manufacturers always use trade fairs to offer discount prices to the public in a bid to win new customers and build a following for their products. You could get to pay 2000 Naira for a product at the LITF though the same product costs 3500 Naira in Shops and Supermarkets all over Nigeria. People throng Trade Fairs to get discount prices for goods and products. After the trade fairs end, the goods and products will revert to their normal prices. You have 10 days at the 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair to get good prices for products you want. Trade Fairs are bargain and discount stores in disguise during their duration every year. Be wise and take advantage of the cheap prices at trade fairs.

3. Networking With Exhibitors and Companies: Many foreign companies will be exhibiting their products at the 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair. You can attend the trade fair to discuss with representatives of these companies with the view of becoming their distribution agent in Nigeria. Many Asian Companies are looking for Nigerians who will partner with them and be their eyes and ears in the Nigerian Consumer Market, when they depart Nigeria after the 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair. If you are a businessman, you can make a lot of money by becoming a partner or affiliate with Companies who participate at trade fairs. You can also work with local Companies and secure good deals for yourself. There are no limits to what you can achieve by networking with Companies at the Lagos International Trade Fair. By networking with these foreign companies, you can actually build a business for yourself.

4. Working At The Trade Fair: Yes, the fair will only last for 10 days. However, you can get a job with exhibitors at the 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair by being physically present at the event. Walk up to the stands and canopies and ask the exhibitors if they are looking for staff for the day. Be smartly dressed in clean clothes. Make sure you look presentable. Be clean shaven ( No weird hairstyles, please ) and humble. Many of the exhibitors will surely need extra hands to help them move stuff around or man the stand for them. You can decide to work for different Companies and Exhibitors at the trade fair everyday. They will give you tee shirts and face caps you will put on everyday. You can make decent money during the 10 days of the fair. Be proactive. Walk up to the exhibitors from day 1 and make yourself available to them as a Salesperson or Marketer. Cheers.

5. Securing Permanent Jobs With Companies and Exhibitors: The 2019 Lagos International Trade Fair will hold for only 10 days. Business will continue forever. The Companies and Exhibitors at the trade fair have Factories and offices that operate 5-7 days a week. By working with Companies and Exhibitors at the trade fair, you are opening yourself to the possibility of becoming a permanent staff with them. If you are able to help them make more sales and money at the trade fair, there is a high chance that they would give you a contract and employ you on a full time basis. Don't underestimate the power of these Companies. If you are valuable to them, they will retain you and give you a full time Career with lots of opportunities for growth and advancement. Try and attend the Trade Fair.
