As long as Nigerians are not taught to be responsible for things in their immediate environment, we will keep having these developments. Personal Responsibility has to be taught from Primary School to the end of Secondary School. Pupils should be made to take care of flowers in the school compound. Littering the school with rubbish should be frowned at and students should be encouraged to use classroom furniture properly and stop defacing the walls with crayon, ink, chalk, charcoal etc. Government can only provide funds for things to be done and facilities to be put in place. Government is not responsible for the maintenance of structures . Headteachers and Principals have a lot to do concerning the behaviour of Staff and Students. If you damage school furniture, you should be fined and the fine should be used to repair the damaged furniture immediately. There should be an audit of all classroom facilities at the end of every term. If your desk is damaged, you should be ready to explain if it is your fault or if you did not have a hand in your desk being in a bad shape. Small small acts of personal responsibility can be taught from Primary School until the end of Secondary Education in Nigeria. By the time a student writes waec and neco, he or she should be a very refined person. Thanks.

There is no sense of personal responsibility in many Nigerians. I served too and I am talking from personal experience. Many Corpers don't take care of properties that do no belong to their Parents or Family. The same way they did not take personal responsibility for structures in their halls of residence at the Universities or Polytechnics they attended and graduated from. So why are you surprised that they have neglected a Corpers Lodge in Jigawa State ? Many Nigerians don't simply care as long as they don't own something or a structure. Public Secondary schools are renovated by the State or Federal Government after appeals from the school authorities, and within 2-3 years, the schools start looking like war zones- Tables, Chairs, desks are damaged by students and windows are smashed. Flowers are trampled upon and walls are defaced with ink, graffiti, chalk, charcoal, poster colour etc. The schools do not have repairmen and maintenance staff who will come in and fix things at the end of every term ( When the students are on holidays and are not physically around ) so that facilities will remain in a good condition. we have horrible mentalities and mindsets in Nigeria . We blame the government for everything. Shior!!.

Entitlement Mentality . She is not talking about the Corpers who used the place before and made the place look like this. Was is not Corpers who lived in the place and watched the structures degenerate to this level? How about the present occupants joining hands together and pulling resources together to renovate the place? The government must always come and do everything? Or is she saying spirits damaged the roof over the years? She should seek private accommodation if she is not happy about the situation of things. Or she can organize her colleagues to find a solution to the problem.

Now you're done, remember, parent will only accommodate you for few weeks. They may not complain when the burden becomes too much but their actions will do.

1. Drop the mentality of "I am a graduate" if u must stay off mummy's pot for a month.
2. Many has dropped their degree for SSCE Job. You can call it settling for less, but that's just a means to an end not an end itself.. My point - Don't be selective in job hunt. You can start somewhere no matter how small.
3. Apply in all openings until u run out of records
4. Look inward, there is a skill in you ; Explore it for legit "hustlings". Even when the job finally lands, multiple sources of income is not a crime.
5. You can bury some self ego, mingle with the so called lower class to learn a trade. If they'll accept u "THE OGA", you'll be the one to smile later. I bet u with ur level of education and exposure already, you should later do well than them. Many will mock , but don't worry. Be steadfast.
6. Be ready to work as volunteer whenever opportunity present self. Sometimes, it's not about the money first.
7. Marriage is not an escape route from this stage of uncertainty. Yes, I'm addressing both guys and ladies here. If u had a trusted girl/boyfriend on or before service year , u both can relocate somewhere, plan ur life together and see the empire growing gradually.
Don't wait for manna my dear, it may not fall - Not even tokumbo talk less of tear-rubber ready-made.
N/B:. Genuine helpers are rare. Elites only help the elites for immediate return on investment. It will be interesting to see the final 12 players that will represent Nigeria at the FIBA 2019 Basketball World Cup. There are more friendlies lined up for D'tigers.

One of the reasons for the 2 legged friendly game against the Dominican Republic is that Coach Alex Nwora is trying to see if he can get 2-3 players who can fight for spots on D'tigers final 12 Man Roster for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. In the game against Dominican Republic yesterday, one player stood out and he is Gabe Vincent. Gabe Vincent plays for the Stockton Kings in the NBA G-League, USA. He is a native of Stockton in California but he has Nigerian heritage. He entered for the 2018 NBA Draft but he was undrafted. He is a unrestricted free agent in the NBA and he is 23 years old. Gabe Vincent was outstanding against the Dominicans yesterday. He hardly missed his free throws and he passed the ball well. We hope to see more of him in the 2nd leg of the game tomorrow.

Nigeria's Male national basketball team, D'tigers, defeated the Dominican Republic 81-85 in a action packed game full of tension yesterday, 20th July 2019. The game is part of the preparations of D'tigers of Nigeria towards the FIBA 2019 Men's Basketball World Cup to be hosted by China ( 31st August - 15th September 2019 ). The game was played at the Palacio Presidential Basketball Arena in the Dominican Republic. Coach Alex Nwora of Nigeria and his boys gave a good account of themselves and withstood the tense atmosphere laced with the support of the home fans who were expecting a victory for the home side.

Some of the D'tigers players who featured in the game include Deji Akindele, Ike Iroegbu, Gabe Vincent, Christopher Obekpa, Tosin Mehinti, Stanley Okoye etc. Captain Ike Diogu did not play as Nwora was testing out some new invitees to the D'tigers camp. One of them, Gabe Vincent, was outstanding in the game. D'tigers had a good offense but defended averagely and their loss of concentration several times led to the Dominicans closing up the 12 points lead of D'tigers from time to time. Dominican Republic also gave a good account of themselves and made moves that wowed their supporters. There were lots of scraps between both teams throughout the game. It was a very physical contest. Alex Nwora and his Assistant Coaches still have a lot of work to do on the team's defense as they continue their preparations for the World Cup. Nigeria will play Dominican Republic again tomorrow ( 22nd of July ) in the second leg of the friendly game.

Gabe Vincent was impressive in Nigerian colours during the game .

Hmn . This just goes to show us that many people are not professional when making snacks. They could actually source for beef to put in the meatpie at affordable prices. It is all about planning and budgeting. If the makers of the meatpie are producing them in large quantities, the catering could buy a goat or ram, butcher it and keep the meat in storage. This will mean that meat will be available all the time to be used for making the meatpies. People should learn how to be honest when making snacks for the public to consume. Back to the topic of discussion. Please go into selling high grade used clothes and shoes for ladies and children. It is a goldmine if you know how to source your inventory cheaply from Asia or Europe or North America. You won't have to spend too much time running this business, as the market is already there even on your Campus. Just make sure that your customers pay you immediately for their purchases. This will make you have running capital to bring in new stock all the time. Cheers.

I don't just understand how many Nigerians reason. Maybe they need to travel to see how the world operates . With the internet, people in the village can learn new farming methods from other African countries and even from Europe and Asia. They can learn Bi-Cropping and Multi Cropping Systems from Asia. They can even get seeds of vegetables from Institutes in Nigeria and Africa. Some of them can start breeding Rabbits in their towns and villages, process rabbit meat and bring the meat to sell in the Cities. They can even advertise their Rabbit meat business on nairaland and Facebook. The problem with many people in Nigeria is that as soon as they start making money, they forget to invest some amount of money into improving the facilities they have. They fail to buy new equipment and tools that will help them expand their business. What is wrong in buying acres of land cheaply in the rural areas and within 5 years, turn those acres of land into a huge Banana or Plantain Plantation? Every 6 months, you will get banana and plantain suckers and plant them in a section of the land and you keep doing this continually for 5 years. Because you are living in the rural area, you can monitor your Plantation, hire local guys to patrol your Plantation twice daily etc. Why are we not thinking in this direction ?

Mr Man, who told you farming in Nigeria is not lucrative anymore? No matter how much food is imported into Nigeria, farmers will still sell their food and make profits. Have you visited Poultry farms along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and asked the owners of those farms if they have ever regretted going into Poultry farming? Agriculture is a blessing from God. The soil will give back to you what you sow in it. Animal husbandry and crop production are viable business lines. Food Production is also viable. No matter how much you earn, whether you are unemployed or underemployed or jobless, you must surely eat something. You must drink something too- Cold drinks, soft drinks, yoghurt, lollipop etc. Abeg, don't say what you don't know here.

People are not thinking deep at all. In this era of globalization, youths in Villages can order for small machines from Asia and start making food products they can sell in their vicinity. To an extent, electricity is sometimes better in the rural areas as there are no industries in these places. Farming can still take care of the needs of people in the rural areas. People can get seeds from IITA and other Agriculture research institutes and start vegetable farms in their villages. They can then come together to transport the vegetables to the markets in the big cities. There is enough land for them to use and even if they don't own land, they can rent land for small amounts of money from families that own the land. People should start learning to do for themselves . The internet is there for them to research business ideas they can work in their States of Origin. Accommodation and cost of living is cheaper in those interior areas. Why don't people build good lives in the other states, rather than coming to Lagos to come and suffer ?

In retrospect, he should be thanking his stars that he is alive and not coming back to Nigeria in a body bag. When there is life, there is hope. People have been deported in the past and they returned to the country they were deported from some years later and became citizens of the same nations that deported them. Why do Nigerians think deportation is the end of life? There are more than 130 countries in the world, for Christ's sake .

Cement is 2700 Naira per bag in Ikorodu axis. I'm talking about Dangote Cement. And then, is there a need for plaster sand to construct the Soakaways? Can't they use sharp sand alone. I don't know much about construction, but is granite always used in making Soakaways? I have a lot of questions about this quote. I need more contributions from builders and forum members . Thanks.
