Gareth Southgate is a different Coach though. He has a different mentality and approach to football as England's Manager. He doesn't mind if you are black or white. Once you're playing well, he will give you opportunities to shine for England. The English FA is also trying to emulate Germany and France in giving footballers with immigrant backgrounds a chance to get the much desired FIFA World Cup title for the Country. The era of fielding white English players irrespective of their form is gradually coming to an end. Cheers.

TempleHouse:
What a load of preposterous and patronising nonsense you're talking about !
Perhaps, you ought to go back and check what you wrote before you throw yourself to the gutter.
You stood for justice and yet you're sympathetic to a pheadophile. What an irony !
Tell me how you have condemned the evil menace in your write up ?
The only good thing to you is about not washing clothes in dirty linens and not about the innocent girls been abused because BBC is biased and should focus on Britain so that Pheadophile can have a free range in Nigeria.
So, who is ignorant here
Your knowledge of the ways of the modern world is absolutely irelevant to the matters in question.
Your insults and abuse depicts your level of knowledge of the modern world and you're not equipped to tell anyone that you know anything about Britain or any so called modern world.
Pheadophile should be condemned, shamed and jailed, and anyone justifying this evil is worse than them.

You have a serious comprehension problem and you don't know it. I don't have the time to argue with you.

TempleHouse:
Your statement is irresponsible, hypocritical and quite unfortunate.
Is the reporter a white or of black origin
You're uneducated to know that BBC is a reputable organisation that allows a freelance journalist to work with their name or banners.
In Britain, sexual harassment are addressed with a full glare of the law and to make an unwanted compliments of a lady is regarded as sexual harassment in Britain but not in Nigeria.
You're shamefully trying to change the narration of a serial pheadophile lecturer to BBC conspiracy and I suspect people like you are part of the same rotten group of people abusing innocent girls across the Nigerian campuses.
Your statement lacks credibility by celebrating this evil lecturer and the so-called Pastor but the law will take its full course .

@ TempleHouse, you don't know me, do you? How did I celebrate the lecturer in question? You are the one that is uncouth and very unreasonable with your comment. Where did I try to obstruct judgement in this matter? Did you read my comment properly? Are you saying lecturers who have been caught awarding Sex for Marks in Nigerian Universities are not being punished by the Senate and Courts? Nairaland is a forum for people to air their views on different issues. You don't have to agree with what I have said, but you are very daft for saying I abuse innocent girls on Nigerian Campuses. People like you always think they are intelligent while they are just ignorant in the true instance. I always stand for justice but I am also a realist who knows the ways of the western world.

Cousin9999:
This is an important problem that needs to be addressed, however, it doesn't need to be discussed by a oyinbo network in a project designed to deflect from oyinbo evils while shining a light on African problems.

You've spoken well. BBC should also focus on Sexual problems in secondary schools in the UK. There are several incidents of Teachers having affairs and sex with Pupils in Secondary schools in Britain. Sexual harassment by lecturers on their female students is not happening in Nigeria alone. Anyway, the western world has a lot of social problems too. It is just that the 'Oyinbos' know how to manage their Image properly, by not washing their dirty linens in public.

It is really shameful reading comments on this thread. We have a tribalism problem in Nigeria. Oh, My God .

Beautyaddy:
So why are the millions plus Nigerians still living in Nigeria still not doing what you stated here

There are a lot of reasons why Millions of Nigerians do not love their country. The major reason is because we do not want to accept responsibility for the decisions we make. We don't want to accept the responsibility of maintaining the facilities the government has managed to put in place. The government is not perfect, but Nigeria of today is not the Nigeria of the 80's and 90's. Facilities have improved unless we want to LIE to ourselves. The system is not perfect but some things have been put in place since 1999 when the Military finally left office and handed power to the Civilians. A Country cannot be built without a willing Citizenry that will accept losing some freedoms and privileges. People have to pay tax no matter how small your business is. People must keep their environment clean and stop dumping refuse in the gutters and on the streets. People should be willing to take up any kind of job to take care of their families and stop expecting the government to give them a job. The government has been putting some structures in place that will help people access small loans to start small businesses for themselves. Banks are now giving out small loans. Development takes time and decades. First things first, Nigerians should start accepting Responsibility for their actions.

It will take a lot of hard work and sacrifice for Nigeria to develop and become industrialized. Some African Americans are already relocating to Ghana and taking up Ghanaian Citizenship. If African Americans can relocate to Ghana and South Africa to live there permanently, who are you to call Nigeria a Shithole? You should realize that Nigeria has been designed to fail the same way Congo DR was designed to fail by USA, Belgium and other Western Powers. So it is up to Nigerians to redesign the future of their Country. Rwanda is setting the pace for Nigeria by taking the bull by the horns. Rwanda is redesigning its future that was mortgaged by France and Belgium. For you to make an impact in Nigeria, you need to love Nigeria and be prepared to lose some privileges and freedoms to make the country great.

Some people think dressing indecently in western countries is a norm ? You can't work in most Companies and Schools in Europe and dress like a Prostitute. Don't think white people do not have moral codes, okay. You need to travel out from time to time. After the age of 18, most ladies in Europe and America change the way they dress. They only wear bum shorts to private parties or in their home or on beaches where they put on bikinis. Badly dressed ladies in Europe are mostly from lower class families. In the UK, proper dressing is enforced in 95% of the Companies and Schools there. You would be politely told to go and dress properly if you come to work in anyhow clothing and shoes. Tattoos are not even allowed in some offices in Britain. Many elite ladies from rich families dress properly in the white men's countries. Cheers.

Music stars should be responsible for their choices in life. Daniel Wilson and Edward Inyang A.K.A Blackky were making waves when the Nigerian Music Industry was not buoyant . However, they are both doing well and are not accusing the industry of abandoning them. It all boils down to the choices we make in life.

When I was a kid spending my holidays in Ijebu Ode, I saw a black snake one afternoon. I went to the backyard to do something and saw the black snake sliding away from me very quickly. As soon as it saw me, it slithered away quickly towards the bush at the end of the big backyard of my aunt. Many animals always avoid contact with human beings. I think it is a natural phenomenon that God has created between Man and Animals. I have also seen Tigers and Lions run away from human beings except they are hungry or something.

Electroweb:
I remember when i used to fly kite in my neighbourhood during the holidays. Kite made from broom sticks and polythene bags and a strong thread that can make it go a long distance. The yesteryears...I dont see kids flying kite in my neighborhood, may be its where i live. DSTV, Playstation, online games are what majority of children in the urban area play. Some still play football in their compound.

The era of flying kites in Nigeria is over. Sad, but it is over. People are scared to let their children go out of their sights now. Kids hardly play around the streets of the neighbourhoods these days, due to the fear of Kidnappers and Child Molesters. Then all these ritual killings and voodoo occurrences have made things worse. Kids still play football in their homes though if the compound has enough space.

Then we used to read the Archie Comics . I never really understood the comics but I loved the pictures and colours. The Archie Comics were around and popular in Nigeria in the 80's to early 90's. I was a kid then. But I remember the Archie Comics.

This Wambugu Apple has been successfully cultivated in Nigeria- Ikorodu, Ojota ( Lagos ), Kaduna State, Osun State and Enugu. If you want to learn more about the Wambugu Apple ( Queen's Apple ), go to YOUTUBE.COM and type in 'Wambugu Apple Documentary'. Watch the documentary and you will hear from Kate Wambugu, the daughter of Peter Wambugu who grafted this wonderful Apple for the African weather, environment and continent. Stay Blessed.

Okay, if you say so. You make it sound so easy.

You think you will make Thousands of ££ Running a cleaning business? in Just 12 to 15 months? Mate! i started with the so called dirty Jobs, i drove Refuse trucks in london streets for Atleast 8 years After working as a Refuse loader And Now a Delivery lorry driver Around Europe.

What exactly do you mean by the secret in the UK is if one knows what They are doing? Are you suggesting that some people don't know what they are doing? or folks who don't run or own a Cleaning businesses don't know what they are doing?

Hmn. You still don't understand what I am talking about. You will be the only worker for your cleaning business. It is a personal business and you get your clients yourself by advertising on classified websites. It is a very lucrative business if you are hardworking. I am not saying you should be a cleaner for life , but you can run the cleaning business for a specific period. Yes, within 12-15 Months, you can rake in a lot of money. You can even initially get a cleaning job with a Cleaning company ( There are many of them ) just to know how to clean properly and within a month, you should start looking for your own clients. I know someone who is grossing about £2300 monthly working as a Self Employed cleaner with his own clients and customers. I told him to keep to himself and not to discuss what he is doing with anybody. If you position yourself on ebay for 10 months and sell the right things ( Do your research ), you can make very good money you can use to process your Residence in Canada, Australia etc. This is something Nigerians hide from each other in the UK and USA. But I am spilling it to you here. Another thing is, having a good head and spirit will help you a lot and attract people who need your services to you. Good head and spirit will help you a lot. Cheers.

Look here, Naija guy . Forget about the 10 or 20 hours job rights they give you with your study Visa. The money you will earn from working 10 or 20 hours weekly cannot help you live comfortably once you land in the UK. Attend your lectures. Take your lectures seriously and don't run foul of the regulations concerning your Visa. But please become Self Employed. Once you have your Bank Account, you are good to go. Focus on the dirty jobs like Cleaning especially. People don't like to clean in the UK as it can be painstaking and hard work. Look for your own clients and start cleaning their homes or offices. Nobody looks at a Cleaner twice or bothers Cleaners. They often see you as a unfortunate person or Asylum Seeker or Refugee trying to make a living for themselves. If you are in your 20's, late 20's or early 30's, follow my advice. Join Cleaning Agencies or advertise on classified websites for your clients. You will make very good money,I tell you. Just keep to yourself and don't disclose earnings to friends or classmates. Read about how to set up a Home Cleaning business via google. You can also sell stuff on ebay at the same time. You will make more money than sticking to that 20 hours work rules given to you. Cheers.

gypsey:
eerrr... not really, it would not be as easy as you have claimed.

Remember within that 2 years you would have to pay rent, buy food and other expensis and as the individual you quoted have said, the jobs are not guaranteed, You could still be Jobless in the first 8 months.

Other European countries, US or canada could still deny you visa.

The secret in the UK is to know what you are doing as an International Student. You can attend your lectures and do some very good business runs in your free time. You might not even need to look for work while studying. That 20 hours per week work hours given to you will not be enough to take care of your day to day expenses. Become self employed and go into Residential Cleaning business. No one can limit you when you do the so called 'Dirty Jobs'. I won't say more than this. With the money you make, you can process your Canadian PR or Australian PR ETC. You can even save enough to start a cottage industry back in Nigeria, if you know what you are doing. I am not talking about Post Study work. I am talking about earning money during the 12 to 15 Months of your Master's Degree Program. Peace.

Larryfest:
I can't remember the last time i ate this thing call suya, i developed the dislike since the day i passed through a big suya joint at Fagba where the meat was been sun dried with all colours of lizards crawling on the hanged meat.

Arggh . I am depressed with this information now. Very unhealthy thing to do. Jesus Christ . Well, this is an opportunity for people to open Suya joints in very nice sorroundings. And also let customers know that their suya is hygienic and well made.
