And they are not too costly. They are paper and vinyl products you can afford. I have been trying to create this thread for about 3 months now, but due to not having enough time on my hands, I have not been able to do that. So here we are at last. I have seen lots of threads on nairaland about Mini Importation via Aliexpress, Alibaba, Dhgate and other Chinese Wholesale B2B and B2C websites. People are encouraged to join Whatsapp groups to be able to learn how to import things from China and resell at higher prices in Nigeria. Well, importing things like watches, shoes, clothes etc from China and reselling in Nigeria is not a bad idea. I have actually done that at one time or the other. Arbitrage is not a bad business venture. It brings in money and it can be a very rewarding enterprise if done properly. However, I am someone that thinks very differently. When we import these China and Asian made goods to Nigeria, we are actually making China, Singapore, Japan etc very rich. The more we buy from them, the richer they become . So I want to ask Nairalanders one question- Why can't we use Alibaba, DHgate, Globalsources, Aliexpress etc Productively and Creatively?

We buy many Chinese products to look good . However, only a few of us buy products from China that we can use to create wealth and employ people to work for us. There are so many products we ignore and overlook on these Chinese sites, that we can use productively to run business ventures and companies. I have taken some time to do my research and I will discuss my findings with you. Here is what the green commando soldiers look like now. These toy soldiers are still being sold in other countries, especially Europe, North America and Asia. They were an essential part of my childhood and that is why I still have fond memories of them. Lagos Weekend Television ( LWT ) and Ogun State Television ( OGTV ) used to show a lot of war films in the 80's and early 90's. These war films featured popular actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lungren, Audrey Murphy and even Ronald Reagan ( Before he became President of America, he was an actor ). Sweet Childhood memories .

I actually wrote Common Entrance examinations for Command Secondary School, Airforce Secondary School, Navy School ( Ojo, Lagos ) in 1989. Good to know you had these toys when you were young. The Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, has urged Lagos residents to be patient as it doubles efforts to fix potholes and ensure roads remain motorable as we approach the last quarter of the year.

The General Manager of the Corporation, Engr. Olufemi Daramola disclosed this yesterday during a chat with news correspondents on the activities of the Corporation since mid-June 2019.

He said LSPWC is fully aware of the situation of roads in the State and efforts are in top gear to alleviate the discomfort commuters encounter on some of the bad roads, emphasising that the Corporation is determined to rehabilitate all damaged roads in furtherance of the Executive Order of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He explained that palliatives with boulders and crushed stones were done at Oke-Afa, Isolo, Ejigbo, Ikotun-Ijegun axis, Oba Sekumade and Bayeku Road at Ikorodu, Ahmadu Bello Way and other similar strategic roads, adding that the Corporation also graded Ikorodu Road and Mile 12 inward Ketu on Tuesday to reduce travel time and ameliorate the trouble commuters experience on the axis pending a permanent solution.

While noting that challenging road situations ranging from potholes, isolated potholes, craters and failed portions of roads across all the Local Governments preceded his assumption of office, he revealed that a lot of resources to repair non-functional equipment and plants have been invested by the present administration.

Daramola assured residents that the State government is working hard to ensure that pot-holes on major roads are drastically reduced or totally eliminated, and in cases where they occur, the response rate by the Agency would be faster, stressing that some of the roads have outlived their life span.

The General Manager also acknowledged that the number of bad roads in Lagos is high and must be done in phases according to the level of importance, emphasising that the Corporation has a strong mandate to get rid of potholes
in the city within the shortest possible time.

Those workers in the picture are not properly dressed for the job they are doing. The should be wearing PPE safety clothes, overalls, helmets and strong steel toe cap boots. Governor Dapo Abiodun knows he needs to be a prayer warrior and be close to God to function effectively as the administrator of his State. There are forces trying their best to see that he fails as the Governor of Ogun State. He has to pray hard because he meets people who try to hypnotize him on a daily basis, as they seek one help or the other from him. So, he has to pray hard. I believe children should be allowed to create fun themselves by playing out scenarios in their heads. We played electronic games like SEGA Mega Drive, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat etc in the 90's ( Secondary School ). However, in the 80's it was these plastic toys we played with. These toys helped us to be imaginative and creative. I found out they are still being sold abroad in the USA, Asia, Europe etc. There are some toys that I just can't forget. I am a lover of toys and games . I just keep remembering my childhood. I recently decided to do more research about the 80's cowboy and indian toys ( People on this thread have stated that they were still around in the 2000's to 2005 ) and found out that kids in Asia, Australia and Europe are still playing with them and can still buy them in stores or shops. I personally did not see them in Nigeria again after 1990. I've been told that they existed in the East and North of Nigeria for many years after 1990. So, I have posted pictures of the recent versions of the Cowboy and Indian soldiers toys. It seems they don't make them with horses again. They are now made as standalone soldiers and warriors. These toys are educational and interesting for kids- Remember those Clint Eastwood Cowboy movies we watched in the 80's on Lagos Weekend Television ( LWT ) and Ogun State Television ( OGTV ) ? And also those Cowboy and Indian cartoons found in Bunny Chewing Gum? These were what inspired us to gather these Cowboy and Indian toys then.

I used to play with them on a big table on our verandah after I returned from Primary school in the afternoon. They were very cheap and I bought them every week. All kind of colours .
