I know someone who studied Food and Human nutrition at a University in Southwestern Nigeria. He graduated in 2004. He works with Nestle Plc today. Personally, I think Food Science and Technology is even advanced than Food and Human Nutrition. You should be thinking of setting up a Food related business when you graduate. This is because you have better knowledge about food than other businessmen who are running restaurants, food factories or food supply businesses. I just want to be an accomplished writer. I studied Animal Science because I was into science in high school. I'm still not sure if studying Dramatic Arts, Literature in English and the likes can make one an accomplished writer.

I ventured into science primarily because I love medicine and surgery. But facts on ground regarding my disabilities make me a bad candidate for medicine and surgery.

You should think of studying Journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism ( NIJ ), Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos. You can acquire National Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Journalism at the school. Don't bother studying Theater Arts etc at the University. Cheers.

Certainly, I have read about it before and I heard about the same plan today again in www.wionews.com. The plan is for China to become a world power by crippling the economy of other nations. They know that they can not engage the USA in war and win. So, they resulted to this biological weapon called coronavirus.
As it is now, businesses are back to normalcy in China while other countries are battling with the virus. They are producing personal protective equipment in large number to export to other countries. In addition, they are buying big companies which the owners or government can not run again in other countries. Since they are back in business, they will keep making money and grow their economy and other nations will be left behind.

Actually, China has helped many third world countries develop than the western nations have done for them. We should not expect China to think for us as a People and as a Nation. This is the problem with the black man- Always expecting someone else to think for him. China has always been the non-aggressive nation towards the Europe and the USA. China does not seek to control other countries in the real sense. The Chinese originally did not want to trade with the outside world, but after being forced to open her borders to other nations by the British, China started to industrialize gradually. China found out that it was weak after Britain and other Western nations forced themselves on China, so the Chinese leaders knew they had to industrialize and develop their own technology to stay relevant in world politics and economy in the decades to come. If not for Chinese small machines, many entrepreneurs and businesses in Nigeria won't have achieved the success they can point to today. Cheers.

The same happened to my father's account with Stanbic IBTC bank. They fraudulently used his debit card to buy goods on wish.com to the tune of N37000. We are still on case. Stanbic IBTC bank is yet to return the money. The money is even my father's pension paid by Stanbic IBTC Pension. I'm very the bank staff are behind these fraudulent transactions. Please let's collaborate and get our money back. The bank staff have turned to thieves.

I had issues with a clearing and forwarding company that has accounts with Stanbic IBTC bank recently. These guys were not trustworthy at all. Stanbic IBTC is gradually developing a bad reputation for fraud and dishonesty. Hmn.

You are the one making false statements . Why would China send soldiers into North Korea to protect her interests if the USA was helping the Chinese from being overwhelmed by Japan? China was already a communist nation at the time of the Korean War and Russia was China's ally. It was Russia that was being diplomatic as Stalin only supported the Chinese involvement in the Korean War with air support and not land troops. The main reason China sent between 200,000 to 700,000 soldiers into North Korea was to stop the American soldiers from crossing into China from the North Korean border. China also had a pact with the North Korean leaders.

Very true. China was involved in the Korean War. China supported North Korea with enough troops and firepower. This was the main reason America could not overrun North Korea. The Koreans and the Vietnamese understand their terrain very well. Then there is the issue of nationalism too. These factors worked against American soldiers and the US Military establishment. Forget about China being painted as the aggressor in South East Asia, the Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Japanese are not very trusting of Europeans and Americans outside Tourism and Business.

Saving South Korea from the communists does not mean America won the Korea War. America could have been declared the winner of the war if American soldiers had overrun Communist North Korea and occupied Pyonyang, thereby making the whole Korea a capitalist nation. There was no clear winner in the Korean War because North Korea was undefeated, due to Chinese support. How can you say you won a war when your enemy did not surrender to you or sign documents of peace with you?

America did not win the Korean war, just like the Vietnam war that became a killing field for American soldiers. In these two wars, China was involved. China supported Northern Vietnamese against America and Southern Vietnam. China also supported the communists in Korea ( North Korea ) against the USA. So the USA and China have had this rivalry for close to 70 years now. You need to watch factual documentaries on the Korean war . I believe America lost the Vietnam war and tactically left North Korea to her devices.

The State Water Corporations should be privatized as soon as possible. Foreign investors should be invited to Nigeria to bid for the State Water Corporations in Nigeria. We should allow Foreign Companies to buy and manage water production and distribution in Nigerian, and make them retrain the workers and skill them up to international standards. Nigerian workers at all the State Water Corporations need a change of orientation. This will not be possible if State Water Corporations are not privatized. Once Foreign Water Companies come in, they will bring great expertise and innovation and modern equipment into the country. We have done it with Mobile Telecommunications and Cable TV, we can privatize water distribution in Nigeria too. It can be done. Governments all over the world are not very good managers of Water, Light, Gas, Electricity etc. Cheers.

Nigeria has enough hospitals for the corona virus thing. Yet, all are not well equipped, because our health budget has never been higher than $5 billion. Meanwhile, the UK, our colonial master, spends above $100billion on health annually.

And the reason why we don't have the money is our economy is a monoeconomy. Attempts over the years to wean the economy off its dependency via polices like removing subsides , have always been met with resistance. Both the elite and the common man treat the economy as a cash cow that keeps on giving.

The problem is, until we are ready to run our economy as it should be run, and end the economy of sharing national cake, we will never have the cash to fund our hospitals adequately.

Hmn. Cuba does not even have the kind of resources or money Nigeria has, yet Cuba has a very good health and healthcare system. Cuba has just sent a batch of doctors to Italy to help the Italians in battling the Coronavirus pandemic there. Nigerian hospitals are not well equipped because the money given to the hospitals is mismanaged. The internally generated revenue from the Federal and State owned hospitals is also mismanaged all over the nation. And the people mismanaging these monies are workers and management of these hospitals. So everyone is stealing the country blind one way or the other. The Government should not be blamed alone for the lack of equipment in our hospitals. Cheers.

The Jack Ma that I know will not endanger Nigerians by sending infected equipment to them. You need to watch this great man speak. He was in Kenya in 2018 or 2019 and he really supported entrepreneurs in the East African country. Yes, Jack Ma is Chinese and the Coronavirus broke out in China. However, Jack Ma has a great heart and he wants to see Africa achieve its potentials. We should not think he wants to spread the Coronavirus in Nigera. His company, Alibaba, is making the donation, not the Chinese Government. Cuba has sent a batch of Doctors to Italy to help in combating the Coronavirus situation there. How many Western nations sent equipment or doctors to Africa to help combat Ebola virus in West Africa in 2014? The truth is China worked hard to be where it is today. In furtherance of that criminal gold mining enterprise, the Chinese have ARMED local Ghanaian thugs to MURDER anyone that attempts to stop the rampant destruction of rivers that are vital drinking water sources to thousands of villages in Ghana.

2. Rampant deforestation in Senegal and Gambia, where the highly prized African Rosewood trees are being destroyed by the square mile, to feed the demand for expensive wood furniture in China. As in Ghana, criminal gangs in Senegal and Gambia, make sure that anyone who tries to stop the trade in those trees is simply shot dead, to please the Chinese, whose greed and amorality, know no bounds.

3. Decimation of the last remaining tropical rain forests that lie within the Democratic Republic of Congo, and plundering all the tropical hardwood trees for export to China, again with Chinese-armed criminal gangs supplying the muscle and contract killers to keep the crime going undeterred.

4. Widespread selling of gambling machines in Ghanaian villages, where school children are becoming gambling addicts at young ages, and are thus dropping out of school to concentrate in stealing their parents meager earnings, to go feed the Chinese gambling machines that ALWAYS profit while the village dies financially and, more importantly, intellectually.

5. Continuously burning of used car tires as FUEL, in illegal Chinese bush factories that destroy air quality by churning out gigantic clouds of highly irritating and poisonous smoke, in several parts of Nigeria.

6. Actively financing the wholesale killing of endangered African wildlife, notably the scaly pangolin, whose scales are WRONGLY believed by the Chinese to have the potential of increasing the size of their microscopic mouse joysticks. In Nigeria, hunters are armed and paid, to strip-mine the forest of all living things in existence, all so the fucking Chinese can eat them regardless of species or health risks.

I could go on for a few more pages with similar hard facts, but y'all get the picture. The Chinese go out of their way to EARN hatred wherever the hell they scurry, like so many nasty vermin, on this long-suffering planet. Where there are natural resources to be grabbed while poisoning the land, you will find the Chinese there. Where there are endangered wildlife on the brink of extinction, the greedy Chinese will be there to ensure that the last living stragglers of that species are killed and eaten quickly.

If the air pollution in China is so thick with crap that you feel like emigrating to go and make Africa that way, how about just staying in China, taking deep breaths and dying of lung cancer, as a considerate public service ?

As long as many teenagers don't have productive things to do after school hours, they will continue to be exploited by criminal elements of the society. It did not start today. Back in the 90's, 13-15 year old girls were already physically endowed at their ages and some of them were already having sex while in Secondary school. I am enjoying this thread. I grew up in a home where we raised Turkeys and Chickens, and also Rabbits. So, I am familiar with some of the things said and discussed on this thread. Turkeys can truly be annoying and they fight a lot, especially the males. Our Rotweiiler dog used to be the mediator in the fights . Turkeys on free range eat all kinds of things apart from their normal feed. And they grow very big in about 12 months. We also had a Poultry in my father's house. I remember those days ( From around 1998 to 2013 ) and I smile when I read similar stories on Nairaland. Rabbit Meat production will surely be a big hit in Nigeria. Cheers.

Yes, people have wells and boreholes in their homes in Nigeria. That is true. However, many areas of Nigeria are still unwatered, so to speak. It is high time private companies from advanced countries are invited to invest in the Water Industry of Nigeria. We have done it with TV Cable, Mobile Telephony and Internet Providers. Why not completely privatize water supply to homes in Nigeria? It will be a great move by the Federal Government.

70% of Britain's Water Companies are owned by foreign companies. The UK government is not involved in producing and supplying water to the British people. There are about 25 water suppliers ( Private firms ) covering Scotland, Wales and England. The water supplier you will use depends on the area of the UK you live in. Many of the UK's water companies are owned by companies from other nations who have invested in Britain's Water Industry. Why can't we do the same in Nigeria?

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and State Ministries of Water Resources should be research institutes, not Water Production and Distribution Companies. They should exist for research purposes only. They should just be giving data to the government and private companies to work with when it comes to water issues.

They should have privatized all the State Water Corporations a long time ago. Water supply is privatized in the developed nations of the World. The Federal and State Governments do not have any business with Water distribution to the citizens of Nigeria. There are a lot of Government owned institutions that must be privatized in Nigeria. Governments all over the World are not generally good at running Companies. Water and Energy supply in the UK, USA etc are handled by private Companies and Corporations. Cheers.
