Then there was the popular handheld Tetris Brick game cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy. It was a console like game that used batteries and you had to assemble digital bricks to get points. You had to build bricks upwards and avoid them not collapsing. It was a very fast game and it was popular in Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in the 80's and 90's. If you had this Brick Game, you were considered elitist by your Classmates. Everyone wanted to play this game in Class and if you were not careful, this game could get stolen from you. This Brick game was popular. Very popular and it was hard to come by cool cool cool cool cool cool.

Then there is there is the Ball and Pipe Game called 'Blow Blow' Pipe Game. As Kids back then, we would blow air into the Pipe and the ball would float into the air and settle back in the pipe. It was also a popular kiddies game and toy in the 80's. It was widely sold and available all over Nigeria. I used to buy it for my sister as it was not really my favourite toy then. But it was a popular toy in Nigeria back then. Dunno if this 'Blow Blow' toy still exists till now. Share your childhood Games and Toys with us.

I was just thinking about the Childhood Games I had. The toys I played with when I was a kid. I remember the Sliding Puzzle game. One would have to fit the distorted image together to form the correct image on the puzzle, by sliding the squares into place. Do you remember the Sliding Puzzle Game? I used to buy different kinds of this game from Shops that sold them in the mid 80's to late 80's. I believe this Sliding Puzzle game still existed in the 90's.

It used to have all kinds of Animals on the Puzzle or Cartoon Characters. Images like Lion, Tiger, Eagle, Rabbit, Elephant or Cartoon Characters like Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Superted etc. Do you remember this game? Can you share the Games and Toys you played with in your childhood on this forum? Thanks and Cheers cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

PoliticsRe: Atiku + Agbakoba: A Viable Option To Get Nigeria Working Again by Redman44(m): 2:18pm On Oct 09, 2018
Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is Atiku's best choice for a Running Mate. She will get votes from Ladies and Women all over Nigeria. Nigeria is also due for a female Vice President. You don't know the power of a Woman, do you? Just by seeing Iweala on the podium campaigning for votes, women will start thinking of voting for Atiku because one of them will be the Vice President of Nigeria if PDP wins the Presidential Elections. Atiku and the PDP should seriously go after Iweala and convince her to be Atiku's running mate. Cheers.

Abagworo:
The man made a serious comment about limited funds leading him into illegal production. Why can't all these politicians help him out and actually study his products, standardize them where necessary and partner woth him in local production?
That is what I am saying. The Man should not be jailed but fined and told to do the right thing. Our Banks should be funding guys like this by giving them loans from 500,000 Naira to 2 Million Naira. If you check the guy's fruit wine at a laboratory, you will discover that the Man used fruit concentrates to make the wine in a crude manner. Anyone can import fruit concentrates from Asian countries into Nigeria. The guy's fruit wine might not be that harmful as people think. High Charges by NAFDAC has led the guy to cut corners in a bid to make money. Yes, he has not behaved well and has committed an illegality, but he should not be jailed smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley.
CrimeRe: Man Arrested For Producing Adulterated Fruit Wine. Photo by Redman44(m): 1:13pm On Oct 09, 2018
NAFDAC and the Standards Organization of Nigeria ( SON ) are not helping matters at all. To register a product and get a NAFDAC Number, you will be made to shell out a lot of Money. To even get your Factory approved, you should be looking at almost a Million Naira. There are so many unnecessary hoops and obstacles created by NAFDAC that you have to jump over. The financial implication of registering a Food product with NAFDAC is intimidating. NAFDAC charges should be reduced smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley. Then if it is a basic food product like Chin Chin, Cupcakes, Biscuits, Popcorn etc, the producer should be allowed to sell these snacks without NAFDAC Numbers at the beginning, once the product has been approved for consumption by NAFDAC, and the Production Site of the Snack is hygienic and meets the standards required. Then after a year, the producer of the Snacks would have raised enough Money to get the NAFDAC Number. Let our Agencies make things easy for people cool cool cool cool cool cool
CrimeRe: Man Arrested For Producing Adulterated Fruit Wine. Photo by Redman44(m): 12:49pm On Oct 09, 2018
When NAFDAC Registration money for products is too high huh huh huh huh huh

What do you want him to do? If actually he produced the fruit wine by himself, he should be given a warning, fined accordingly and told to go and raise money to register his fruit juice. By no means must this creative man be jailed. NAFDAC should not continue to be a money making agency. NAFDAC Fees should be reduced to affordable sums of money and the process of registering products and getting the 'HOLY GRAIL' NAFDAC Number should be made easier. There are so many people with ideas out there who can't produce drinks and other household products because of the high charges demanded by NAFDAC and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria. Cheers.

PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Best Running Mate Of Atiku Abubakar? by Redman44(m): 5:19pm On Oct 07, 2018
JediB:
The most agreeable as seen in the incumbent is, for the purpose of inclusion, (Atiku coming from the Northern bloc, would have to choose) someone from the southern bloc; someone who claims christianity; is a technocrat, not a partisan politician, one popular for performance or advocate of ideals, one who can articulate, personify what the Government preaches (not necessarily what it is practicing), someone eloquent enough, someone who can debate an Osinbajo (cause PMB cannot defend his first term), one progressively critical enough to take the past 4 years of PMB & tear its hypocrisy to shreds...that being said, I can only think of:
East - Ezekwesili, Okonjo-Iweala, Elumelu, Utomi, Obi
South South - Donald Duke, Ben Bruce
Southwest - Agbaje
Donald Duke is out of the equation. He is the SDP's Presidential Candidate for 2019. Ben Bruce does not carry enough weight to be Atiku's deputy. Bruce should be made a Minister if PDP wins next year. Ditto for Jimi Agbaje. Atiku's running mate has to be from the South-East. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is both South East and South South in ethnic origin. Making a woman like Iweala as Atiku's running mate will be historic and it will galvanize votes for PDP from all over the nation, especially from Ladies and Women. Peter Obi is another good option. Atiku is a very intelligent fulani man. Buhari is not intelligent. Cheers.

Don't be surprised if Atiku and PDP win next year cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy Atiku has the funds to match APC's rigging and he is also loved by educated people in the South West. All the other PDP big guns will rally round Atiku and deploy their resources to help him record substantial votes in their respective States and Regions. Unless the APC uses INEC and State Security Services to win the elections, Buhari will lose next year.

The 'Osun Situation' will repeat itself in 2019. SDP, ANN, ADP and other smaller Parties will take away votes from the APC and PDP in the Presidential elections , thereby creating a scenario of a possible rerun. PDP needs to be wiser this time around and ensure they are not rigged out by APC or forcibly made to lose an election they won cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool.

I was having a discussion with my Tanzanian colleague the other day about Africans migrating to Europe and North America. We both appreciate the good sides of living in Europe and North America, but we made these observations.

1. You are never good enough in the eyes of many white people. They hardly respect you if you are made their boss and you are a black man or black woman.

2. You will pay bills till you grow into your late 60's and 70's and if you default on your Mortgage, your house will be taken from you, irrespective of the monies you have paid earlier on.

3. You will pay water bills for life in Europe and USA, Canada etc but if you dig your own borehole in Nigeria, the water is yours and you don't have to pay for it.

4. Your kids don't belong to you in the white man's countries. They belong to the Government. You can't punish your kids anyhow for any offences they might have committed. The Police will come banging on your door if you do that sad sad sad sad sad.

5. Nigerian women change into Monsters as soon as they enter Canada, USA, UK etc with you. They start claiming equal rights with you after some Months and you will soon see their true character smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley.

6. Many Africans focus on white collar jobs in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia etc while being blind to the opportunities that lie in jobs they consider as being dirty or beneath their status. My Tanzanian friend wondered why many Africans are not looking into being tradesmen like Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers. Gas Engineers, Cleaning Business Owners etc in the white man's countries. He noted that these 'dirty' industries are gold mines.

7. Black People are the targets of immigration policies in the white man's land.

8. Racism is ingrained in the white man's blood. He might like you but he still believes you are inferior to him. And he will let you know this in different ways.

9. Even though they live in advanced nations, Africans still long for their countries of Origin and follow events in their native countries everyday.

10. Lastly, we both agreed that in the long run, Africans should man up and fix their Continent. Cheers.
PoliticsRe: Lagos APC Primaries: Sanwo-Olu Mobbed By Fans As He Arrives Ward To Vote. Photos by Redman44(m): 12:03pm On Oct 02, 2018
All this noise for Politicians who will end up not taking care of the real needs of the people. Ambode and Tinubu will later end their fight and go on to enjoy their loot. Sanwo-Olu will come in to make more money for Tinubu and also feather his own nest. What will happen to Lagosians and their families? All these Politicians are ensuring that their future generations of their families will be well taken care of. You are here being used as pawns in their quarrels. You don't have to thank Ambode for building bridges and building roads. It is his obligation as a Governor to do that. He is not using his personal money to build the infrastructure of Lagos State. He is using your tax money and oil money ( which belongs to you ) to do these things. To me, Sanwo-Olu won't surpass the achievements of Fashola and he might not be a good Governor at the end of the day. Fashola came close to Jakande in my rankings of the best Governors of Lagos State. Cheers.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To Ambode's Press Conference, And Tinubu Endorsing Sanwo-Olu by Redman44(m): 8:01pm On Sep 30, 2018
Tinubu should realize that if Ambode loses the Primaries tomorrow and defects to another Party ( AD, ADP or SDP ), APC and the Sanwo guy will lose the Governorship elections in 2019. Ambode will get sympathy votes and the PDP might actually win the election. Personally, I feel Ambode should join ADP or SDP and test his popularity with Lagosians at the ballot box. Many Lagosians are already seeing Tinubu as a selfish man. I feel it is time for Lagos State to be liberated from a dominant political party.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To Ambode's Press Conference, And Tinubu Endorsing Sanwo-Olu by Redman44(m): 7:08pm On Sep 30, 2018
At the end of the day, it is Lagosians and people who live and do business in Lagos State that are going to lose. Ambode has made enough money that will last him a lifetime, if he invests his money well. Tinubu is a Billionaire in Dollars and Pounds. Take that from me smiley smiley smiley smiley. Tell me, what has the Lagos State Government actually done for you? How are you enjoying governance under AD, ACN and APC in Lagos State? In your neighbourhood, do you have a Public Library there? How motorable are the roads in your area? A man has to speak out when he has to do that. Let Ambode fight and if he loses, let him take his chances with another Political party, not necessarily PDP. Cheers.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To Ambode's Press Conference, And Tinubu Endorsing Sanwo-Olu by Redman44(m): 6:42pm On Sep 30, 2018
Hmn. I like Ambode's spirit at the moment. A Man has to fight when it is time to fight. Tell me exactly, how Tinubu's godfatherism has benefited the people who reside in Lagos State? Is Lagos State truly developed as these politicians claim? It is not about Roads and Bridges alone o. Yes, BRT and the new Buses are cool, but there is so much more that has not been done in Lagos State. The inner suburbs of Lagos State are looking very bad. Why can't our leaders find new ways of making roads that will last longer? Does Lagos State have Recycling Centers that will turn waste in Lagos State into Cash? Talking about electricity, can't the Governors in Lagos build Facilities that can convert Waste and Rubbish into energy? The things that will really touch the lives of Lagosians and Lagos Residents have not been done huh huh huh huh huh

What about healthcare in Lagos State? No innovation at all. How do public schools in Lagos State look like? Has money been earmarked to improve the facilities in public secondary schools in Lagos? So many things that have not been done from 1999 in Lagos State. Tinubu, Fashola tried. Ambode is trying too, but there has to be a comprehensive development plan for Lagos that will really touch the lives of people living there.

The OP's experience is a bit different, but generally it is not safe to leave your current job, without having some money to fall back on. It is good to save up at least the equivalent of your Salary for a year before jumping into entrepreneurship. Op, I wish you the best in your new endeavor. Cheers.

FoodRe: Bakers Set To Increase Bread Prices by Redman44(m): 9:34am On Sep 17, 2018
Greed is creating a lot of problems in Nigeria. Nigerian businessmen will always find a way to justify the consistent increase in the prices of their products, even when they have alternative routes they can take to ensure stability in prices. Many Bakery Owners in Nigeria are not well educated people or they are not exposed enough to see that there are alternatives to Wheat when it comes to making bread. We have not researched on Millet and Sorghum to see if they can be a suitable replacement for wheat. I also want to believe that there are different brands of flour in the open market with different prices. Bakeries buy flour and other baking ingredients wholesale, so bakers have to find a way to make bread affordable to Nigerians and also make their own profit. In the long run, they will sell more bread and make profits as the years roll by. Cheers.
