And the man to be confirmed is also corrupt. And the people who wrote the damning report against him are also corrupt. And the people that appointed them are also corrupt and on and on and on...the reporter should just free us mbok. |
Things tend to happen in environments that permit them. You will not find mosquitos in Antarctica, or find polar bears in the Congo. You will not find a gateman sleeping in a house that is unsuitable. The house obviously was made suitable for the act to be possible. For heavens sake how does the gateman gain access to the house, then the room if not that you regularly 'drop the keys'.... |
ebenholer:Exactly, an invitation to anarchy. So the first thing we do is to change the law or very soon we will run out of colours and styles for uniforms and rankings. Just imagine, even the so called Peace Corps that started out as an NGO is angling to go paramilitary complete with uniforms, guns and very soon dispatch riders, sirens, horsewhips and the legendary armoured BMW 7 series. Look, poverty and under development is a disease, a mental disease similar you PTSD that we have not overcome since the colonialists left where every aspect of life was under compulsion and every act of obligation to goverment was by force of arms. Today's world us run by laws and us one if intellect and technological advancement. And those who fly drones, hack computerized military installations, guard borders with sensors and infiltrate terrorist organisations have no ranks and wear no uniforms, but our so called PEACE CORPS wants to be a 'war corps'......failed people called Nigerians. |
Progressive01:Hmm.....oga, they are just doing their jobs just like you and I do. And I believe you donot ask your doctor whether he secretly shoots the clinic's morphine before seeking treatment or ask Iya Basira what she does with her fingers at night before chomping on that juicy ponmo she cooks. What you want are good products and right results, that is, value for money. Folks like you just cannot shift focus from individuals to institutions, from workmen to work, from the process to the product. I have serious issues with asking the man to wear uniform because we have far too many paramilitary organisations already and civvies represent 'intellect' rather than the uniform which signifies 'the force of arms' which are vestsges of colonial rule (the FBI is the foremost law enforcement agency in the world and they have no uniform). However, the law is the law and until the law changes it must be respected by everyone. It is what binds society together and if an official of government cannot obey the laws and respect the custodians of it (the Legislature), then it is an invitation to anarchy. In a nutshell, if Hameed cannot obey the law, he cannot compel me to pay any duty or fulfill any obligations to the customs service, period. |
malton:it is your responsibility to assess, plan and control your relationships. Just like when driving, you adopt a defensive posture always UNTIL YOU GET HOME. It is sheer folly to put your safely and sensibilities entirely in the hands of others. |
Bumbae1:What the guy said is 100% correct. DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN ANY! ANY!! ANY!!! RELATIONSHIP with individuals that are emotionally unstable: excessively jealous, possesive or vindictive. And this applies to all relationships be it business, family, work, marraige, any. I am an apostle of avoidance, de-escalation and evasion because prisons are full of people who have done bad things most of whom donot regret their actions. On the other hand the pain AlWAYS remains with the victims, their friends, relations and loved ones. So it is simple. Avoid bad relationships and quit them immediately questionable signs arise. And this applies to both women and men. She should have quit a long while ago. |
mokset123:He doesn't need all those. All he needs is a target, a clear line of sight to get there and the right tool for the job. Where divine comes in here I don't understand. Stop draging God into your mud pits. God is concerned about saving souls. He has given you a brain to use. Don't ask him what 1 plus 1 is. We are here because of our ignorance and wickedness. Let him plan where to go and get the bus going there, period. |
Grundig:For clear offenses/disreputable actions and not just for doing his job and only after the governing council has appended. The CBN is a government on its own just like the Legislature oq Judiciary. They are the defacto fourth arm of most governments worldwide because money is a god. Yet another proof that most Nigerians donot know how government works or how to make it work for them. They just roam around like sheep bleeting here and there led by dastardly political herdsmen to danger and want. And I always say, the quality of a government cannot exceed the quality of the governed, the people. You make the bed you lie on, They think the independence of the Legislature, Judiciary and the CBN is for no reason and yet expect things to work well. So much ignorance. |
lytech1:Funny. But just half a year ago you guys were frothing in the mouth saying 'those parts of the country' could go to hell. Then you put only three plugs in your four cylinder engine and stormed off from the mechanics workshop. It is now 'an achievement' to tow the car with a knocked engine back to Kamoru who is obviously smiling now saying, Oga, I told you that Nigeria cannot work without unity and unity cannot work without social justice. Everyday Nigerians give me less and less hope with their thinking, utterances and ways and give more ammo to those who have abandoned this country and call us fools who have not. You destroy something out of foolishness then attempt to repair it now becomes an achievement. Is Osibanjo not part of the government that brought us here. Or do we have two governments. If my mechanic broke my car only to patch it back or my technician ruined by toaster only to knock it back. Yes I will say, thank you in relief but still fire him. Only restructuring can halt the viscious downward spiral Nigerians experience with successively worse governments. But will the people ever hear. ? |
Though I think this is coming rather late, nonetheless better than never because they all have underperformed. Most are completely useless. They have served their political purposes, have been rewarded, stolen enough already so the party has to end. This government has just 9 months to turn this Titanic around or it will sink come 2019. |
I put my house on an explosive match and it appears I'm set to win an estate, quite literally. |
Messi is obviously on the decline. Nothing lasts forever I guess. |
bizza45:Hahahaha....classic. |
even Sanchez and Cech dey laff. |
And Arsene Wenger says ......when I find the right qualities in players I buy...not before See his mouth. See double digit disgrace. Abeg the man should resign in shame before dawn. Useless club. |
Arsenal just made a down payment for their land outside top four. They are digging their foundations tomorrow. |
Wenger should be sacked in the morning. |
LesbianBoy:Na. Manu don get C of O outside top four town. Arsenal dey apply. |
See as Mane take mess Monreal. The next Arsenal gaffer should put them in the out tray. |
The wingbacks of Arsenal are so poor....but who in his right senses depends on Spanish defending. |
The man cannot ensure his marraige is founded properly. Then what is the guarantee he will be able to train or school his children on issues of life. He had better quit and return to the classroom of marraige. He is so, so dense and a threat to society. We have enough area boys and girls running round Nigeria causing havoc. |
As long as they continue to 'pump money in', a.k.a currency subsidy thus creating an artificially good looking economy and fuelling corruptive cartels and rent seekers, the solution is no where in sight. The fundamentals remain the same, we donot earn enough foreign exchange. The solution is simple. Float the naira to end speculation and attract the dollar out of foreign banks and private vaults. Anything else is just taking panadol for cancer. Whatever the CBN has in its treasury people are ready to buy all and put in their vaults waiting for the CBN to give up its grand standing. When it depletes its reserves then the game begins. Foolish people. Poor people subsidising consumption....psst. |
sshalom:You need good software to direct the hardware. Something lacking in most Nigerian players. |
Adminisher:But it is not stopping the corrupt practices happening. We keep receiving reports every week and its just.....sad. |
The news coming out of the Ministry of Works and that of Housing is becoming something else these days. Fashola had better curtail the serial corrupt practices occurring under his watch or have himself thoroughly messed up shortly. The volcano of scandal is rumbling. |
Some people calling this monster a legend. That has pauperized his people, destroyed all the institutions inherited and made them a laughing stock of the internatonal community. How many have died of illnesses, how many have been denied education and had their prospects, visions, destinies truncated because of his inordinate ambition, his greed and his self aggrandisement. If he is such a quality leader, what is the fear of leaving. Because that is the ultimate test of value. |
Babzilla:Don't mind them. Instead of asking solid questions and demanding a new direction as far as government policy is, they just sit there and play politics with their lives while wasting away. Their competitors in Africa thoughtless of in Asia are forging ahead. They are busy doing historical blame games as if no country in the world has been mismanaged and led astray before. Governance is in the now. |
abescom:The fact that you admit that this government cannot do anything about the situation is an indictment of its performance. And I hope Nigerians will chart a different course come 2019, electing leaders able to listen to people and willing to be proactive in solution finding. Hopefully we will leave you chaps doing historicals while the rest of Nigeria forges ahead. We are closer to the end of this regime that from the beginning. We have crossed the half way point where all things should be seen in the neutral but folks like you are still looking for rocks to crawl under, holes to bury your heads in, endless denials. I said it months ago. If the Jonathan past will determine the performance of this government, come 2019 what wil be the basis of its campaign. We will have another Lucky Igbinedion scenario. Listening to a radio program in Abuja this morning on the travails of the PDP, it is clear that this government's failure is a result of the lack of political opposition. If there was there is no way this country will have drifted this badly. All and every move including the disastrous foreign excahnge policy wil have been thoroughly debated and vigorously resisted. But no one can speak because they all stole. The natural alarm clocks built into the polity have been turned off because they are an early morning irritant so the chap is about to be sacked for getting late to work. When people criticise in a democracy, no matter how bad it may be perceived, it is a necessary tool for keeping leaders on their toes and is the only guarantee for performance because power corrupts naturally. Opposition brought us this government with so much hope, and opportunity to change things. So keep blaming your teachers and clapping for mediocrity. When you eventually wake up to reality, there will be nothing left. |
nairaman66:Cross-River has had a cult problem for years. Nothing new. |
Odingo1:Hmmm..... |
I think people donot understand what is really going on. Get this for a fact this day. As long as the country continues to subsidize the naira, the real value will continue to fall. Even if there is a trillion dollars in the reserve or oil is at 200 dollars a barrel. What is hitting the naira is simple. It is more profitable to trade currencies now than any other legit business out there. Which goods or services commands almost a hundred percent profit from the comfort of your home other than to buy at 305 and sell at 510, without sweat. 650 is kids change. There is no incentive in the fx market to bring the rate down whether in the CBN and on the streets. The CBN guys will be billionaires by now (forget the grandstanding, combative or puppy-dog, remorseful look. These guys are making hay. The whole forex thing is a boulder rolling down the hill. Who wan stand for front. The only way is to move as fast as the boulder in the same downhill direction, catch up with it and slow it down gradually by opposite momentum. The official rate must catch up to form a single exchange rate then the CBN will gradually take control of the descent. Right now there is probably more dollars at home vaults than in CBN vaults. Abeg who is then in control. Another proof of the disorganisation and defeat of the CBN is two new exchange rates for medical tourism and educational tourism. That makes it nine official rates to black markets one. 9 - 1 PSG is hammering Barca and some folks are still hopeful of economic eldorado....hmmm. |
As far as I am concerned the only orders an adult takes from a parent relates to a vison handed down to be pursued, such that could not be accomplished by the parent. Phones and candy floss are not issues of life....but they threaten to take this man's life. Haba. Nigerians and materialism. Drop the Nokia and move on abeg and set yourself free from small mindedness. |
