Dottore:Then you are not a very brilliant person. You could have just waited for the assailant to run out of bullets as he fired wastefully away. Next time look at the fundamentals. Has the oil price appreciated significantly, no. Has government expenditure (waste) reduced significantly, no. Has the government evolved diverse income, no. Has government been able to attract serious FDI, no. Then why are you selling instead of buying. Isn't it obvious even to a dummy that the naira rise was woefully unsustainable and that it was just a political ruse and an opportunity for high level government theft through currency round tripping. That economic fundamentals may have just improved by an inch but the naira was subsidized by a mile. Now 'Team Toothpick' importers have arisen like the elephant grass at the scent of the new rainy season and they will be a thorn in the nation's economy going forward. Nigeria is like a malaria or tuberculosis patient who will not take his medications seriously. The result is intransigent poverty and economic damage. Reforms are painful whether we like them or not. What we abuse the likes of the IMF for is what we have to face to survive. And whether we like it or not a weak naira is the only way to drag a stubborn, lazy Nigerian to diversify and produce stuff. Go to any major city of Nigeria and find all roads and highways dotted with 'shops'. Few make, everyone sells. That is poverty on display. I have said it time and again. Nigeria needs a socio-economic overhaul, a renaissance where restructuring is complimented by sound free market policies of which the free exchange of the naira is compulsory. Government has no business setting the rate of the naira when its share of the economy is in the minority. Nigerians have much more money that all of government. Why should government dictate how much the naira trades for. This is the sad result. |
Is there anything left to say I have not said before. Can't continue to repeat this things time and again. Nigerians are just mentally unfit for the kind of country they want to live in. |
chukagates:Yes, na hustle.....sorry. Tomorrow she bribes the judge, evades the law, pays through to high political office and begins to make laws. They you will represent the second part of your synopsis.... yes catch the corrupt politicians first..... who were into the things you approve of just a few years earlier. Nigerians.....just like I said earlier are brainy but cannot put one and one together. That civilised societies put villans away for reasons that include the fact that they could morph into powerful forces, syndicates that wobble whole societies and breeding grounds for more organised crime and that they could influence laws and governance. Does it surprise us then that Nigerians who treat these crimes with levity end up electing these people to higher office. How many Senators and Representatives ARE NOT either fraudsters, drug lords or rent seèkers. How many are straight forward career professionals or renowned businessmen of impeccable character.... and we want to improve Nigeria. Hence when every election cycle comes we are left with 'bad choices'. It is because the tree that bears the fruit from which the fruit salad is made is bad, period. And this is the youth, the up and coming I speak of. |
Then they say Nigerians are hardworking..... Nigerians are brilliant.... Nigerians are upwardly mobile..... then you see this.... and worse the comments that see nothing in it. That is when the correlation between man and his environment becomes clear. That Nigeria is like this because of Nigerians. We deserve everything we experience. The Swiss woman is a mugu....then they run to Switzerland enmasse to escape the s.hit storm at home. |
Handsomecole:They have assets which can be sold to off-set debts. Such was the fate of Bernie. All his assets were confiscated and he had to declare bankruptcy. But even that is not the end. The only way to put an end to this mess in Nigeria both now and in the future is for the Judiciary to send a strong signal these things will not be tolerated. We can already see the ambivalence of the typical Nigerian caveman who believes every evil experience is from god and who is prepared to suffer and live in this country like a jungle bound animal while his fellow citizens abroad sue local councils for pot hole damage to cars and claim damages for poor utility services. This is a good development and more should follow. |
When we said restructuring is the only way out, Nigerians say corruption is their problem so the cart pulls the horse. Is this not corruption in practice. But if the the money in question was from the sweat of the people only and not a hand down from heaven will the people not ask for their money back if proper accounts cannot be presented. The greatest tragedy of our nation and in our time is to see the light at the end of the tunnel and choose to remain like rats in the dark. The Jonathan government brought us the closest to a differently structured Nigeria, one of true independence but any hope of restructuring has been quashed by this regime. No one is saying anythjng about it anymore so that the status quo can be maintained. This is the result, full blown feudalism, the people are slaves, the rulers are masters. How dare you know what goes on. This is how Nigeria has been run for sixty years and run into the ground. I said the best we will get crom this government will be superficial. No real change will happen because real change threatens them, their hold on the country, their beliefs, their way if life. So like the long nosed rat that nibbles off unwashed fingers at night by blowing soothing air to the open wound so the enormous distraction that the antanti-coruption war has been to the real issues besetting this country. But no matter how much grandstanding is done the beauty of democracy ensures that at the fullness of time an account has to be made and then we will see whether Nigeria has progressed in real, fundamental terms. |
Roger that..... |
Lilimax:I don't think this is the case. Bamaiyi is not in their league and they don't need him to uncover the skeletons in the VP's cupboard. They will have his X files themselves. |
Jabioro:But that is what happened then. Even in the Al-Muatapha case. Charges came through the Lagos State Government. |
LeView1:I tell you.... I'm.....flabbergasted.... befuddled.... confused... |
yinkslinks:HIV is no longer terminal and the stigma attached has receded. Cannot be a factor. I will have thought terminal cancer but this will have become very public knowledge. I think the investigation should start from the source of the leaked medical story as an attempted smoke screen. |
xreal:Typical black man. |
Tokziby:No way. The service pistol of a senior military officer will be the best the force has to offer. And will be in impeccable working condition. Anyway modern pistols just don't accidentally discharge. He was shot with his own gun. And it will have been an inside job. |
ekems2017:Not necessarily. Some wives are known to amplify tough situations. Anyway what is the wife doing in Abuja. Is that the place to be when your husband battles life threatening sickness. Sounds like the typical woman who is just in it for what she stands to gain. Abuja always holds attraction for such. |
Assasinated. It is almost impossible for a person to shoot himself thrice in a suicide attempt and the target of choice is usually the temple to make death quick and painless. The househelp should be thoroughly investigated as a possible abettor. |
Hmmm.... Musa. That is England not Russia oh. |
Keneking:No. My primary line is on a Nokia C2 and it suits me perfectly. The ergonomics are just perfect. And I don't wear high heels to the beach or 3 piece suits to an outdoor barbacue. I am seriously in touch with reality. |
Hope they burp as well as the men. Just like all these home based ladies. No frills, no pretenses, no drama. They even pee standing.... For village everybody na man. |
The money will still finish and she will return to her former status. That is certain. That is a law. Stolen money always finds its way home leaving the thief naked and humbled. |
MasViews:Confused people. When is it El-Rufai and not Saraki or Dino or Buhari or Magu or Hameed Ali or Jonathan or.... People simply cannot take a principled stand against sentimental judgements. Is it about people or institutions. We should make up our minds and start to progress. |
0b10010011:Just tell this ain't true. Then he must have sired them when he was about 4 or 5 years of age ....Can any scientist in the house tell me how a 4 year old kid gets round to shooting live ammo. |
Exactly what do these so called civil servants do that they consume such a huge amount of resources. Honestly restructuring is the only way out of this mess. I am dead sure that half these civil servants are just replicas of what 'other states are doing', not that Osun state may really need them or obtains value for such scarce resources. If I was to be governor for just six months I will halve that wage bill by making every single MDA a commercial, revenue generating entity and I will give them a further six months to generate a minimum of 60 percent of their expenditure including wages or be closed finally. When you remove security which is on the exclusive list of the Federal Government every other parastatal including the Judiciary generates revenue. Why they cannot pay their way baffles me in a high populated country such as ours. Can anyone mention a single MDA that cannot be a business entity, run like a proper corporation and earning the government generous income. But this unsustainable feeding bottle structure we have presently is killing us. It is because of the useless free this free that socio-political electioneering policies that cause this financial conundrum. The people become irresponsible, breed like rats and cast their offspiring on society via the government. May the era of free oil resources end. We can never develop this way. |
Yeah, we know. You are just a tree from the evil forest and any meal cooked from her firewood will poison her soul. Nigeria is this way and that because of Nigerians. Make the Pope thd Head of State and watch him book a ticket to Hades.... one way....first class. |
I actually thought 'massive' means like.... I mean.... massive. What is wrong with Nigerians and the misuse of the English language or is it something in our DNA that seems to enjoy lies and deception. Simply say big, large or describe it as it is...a one storey..... concrete.....Taj Mahal ![]() |
The CBN should crash the dollar even more so I can stock up for the inevitable. |
The use and application of a thing depends on the inherent value of a thing. Let me put it in context. If Dangote's wife or Pastor Adeboye's wife or President Buhari's wife knows what she does now before of shortly after she met her man, would she insist they did house chores. Will she not consider that an impediment to potential, a crass waste of opportunity and misplaced priority. She will total the years on such 'mundane' tasks and ponder just how much more could have been achieved if only he left the broom and the baby for her. If only people, young men and women could visualise and conceptualize a future of great exploits and endeavours such silly, stupid and mundane questions and decisions will not arise. Quite frankly I will not even wish to be associated with anyone who thinks at that level no matter the depths of depravity that may reflect my humble beginnings. |
passey:They used to produce the brightest brains in all the Delta then Ken Saro Wiwa happened.....oil is a curse....the devil's soil its called. |
Dongreat:So ignorant. A public official is expected to live at the same standards as the governed. That is why there are many anti-abuse of office laws because the line between personal and government property at those heights remains blurred. Trump is a living example of how a personally rich public official can clash ever so frequently with institutional authority. And if you cannot play by the rules remain in business. Am sure Trump Tower is more palatial than the White House. |
I've been in Portharcourt all week and apart from the smog, this is the trending topic. Just so, so sad. I can't remember the last time I visited a bank, I can't remember the last time I visited a restaurant and I certainly cannot remember the last time I visited the shops. I do everything online. The kind of life of convenience and efficiency the likes of Jumia created is under threat. I didn't know whether to be angry with those hoodlums responsible for the sad event or the numerous radio hosts inflaming the situation by calling for the American style prohibition of the online vending industry. Whatever move is made to insure and safeguard the players it is we the consuming public that will pay in time, tears and treasure. One thing for sure and once again, Nigerians are the source of their suffering, poverty and retardation and I absolutely resist and reject it. |
fasterwell:No, but the pastor has not asked them to steal. In scripture Jesus sat and watched people making offerings. He could conclude because He could see their hearts. No pastor has such powers and though I admonish them to move beyond the pulpit into the homes and offices of their flocks just as Jesus went to homes and offices, but their primary responsibility is to feed the flock, scatter the Word and pray the Spirit makes it work. They cannot force the horse to drink. As to what Church doctrine has become I think it perfectly reflects the time we are which is tne end of days where things are moving at a very fast pace. Prosperity is the oil that lubricates the expansion of the gospel. It is a present attraction in an increasingly unstable, unequal and poverty ridden world and I think that whatever spreads the gospel faster will meet with God's approval. Anyway the gospel has always been abused right from when Jesus walked the earth. In the era of 'holiness and submission' in the 12 century people termed heretics were executed in the most abominable manner ever witnessed. Acts of cruelty perpetuated by 'the Church' so bad that it will make today's ISIS look like the boys scouts. Then came the conquistadors, then the evangelicals dehumanising, humiliating and even mass murdering their congregations. My friend, the Church has always had misrepresentation but it always seems to overcome them and the kingdom of God has never looked back. |
fasterwell:But all the scripture you quote applies to the 'kingdom of God'. This is one mistake we often make. Mis-contextualizing. We often take scripture which aadresses one issue and apply it albeit without wisdom to every encounter. You are bound to err. This scripture applies to peoples having existing relationships which to any Christian is within his spiritual arc of influence. His Servants, His Brothers... these are particular groups of people the scripture addresses. And not any and everyone. If you take scripture like that you will experience what appears to be several contradictions. Another classic example is where God explicitly commands you 'not to kill' but a few books later 'commands you not to spare anyone'. To unravel the quagmire you have to contextualize and hear out the Spirit of God for clarity. You will be surprised that the scripture which says, love your enemies applies to the 'Kingdom of God', the body of Christ' but most folks mistakenly advance it to all peoples at all times and in all situations condemning soldiers, judges, kings and all those who take life in the process of adminstering justice and governing society guilty of violating God's Word while in most cases they are rather doing his laws. |
Why do people think he hasn't forgiven her. Forgiveness is of the conscience, comsequence is of the act. Its just like salvation in Chrisrianity. It is a two part process whi h is independent. You believe to acquire righteousness and then confess to obtain salvation. God loves you doesn't automatically guarantee you salvation. I think she should forgive herself first. |
