AutoReportNG:Hmmm.....after Lasisi the mechanic does the first C - check many will be completing the journey with paddle and life jacket. |
..... what can I say. After running around they all come back to THE POINT. And after flattery they all speak THE TRUTH which hurts and cuts across party lines, interests and advantages. This is the bottom line. Rochas is positioning himself at the centre because he knows time is gradually slipping away. At the end of the day this is the problem with Nigeria, a structural one which administration after regime has failed to address but they pretend to.... and expect Nigeria to get better.... which it simply can't. |
People are senseless. You raise a child to 32. What else is he other than your son or daughter. What other parent has he ever known. Or what is sonship or parenthood? Do people not adopt. I just don't get it. Can the real father lay claim to the young man under any law on earth. He was deceived and secrets kept for a long time but that is no reason to wail in proper, healthy marraige. The parents are obviously having a relationship crisis and one wants to get back on the other but if I was the man..... no big deal. He remains my son. |
How do you expect Barca to score 5 unreplied at the Nou with a Spaniard coaching their opponents. This tie like this is over. Barca should focus on LaLiga. |
SirWere:There is no pride in club football. No attachment. No sense of fulfilment. I just watch it for fun and to appreciate new innovations but there are no emotions whatsoever. |
SirWere:Na. I've grown beyond clubs. What interest I have in football does not go beyond the national team. Club fanatism is for kids. |
Even Mill Mascaras has joined the party. The whole thing is becoming comedic. |
mukina2:See the Draxler that your Arsene Wenger has been p.uss.yfooting about for that past 4 seasons. Is this not enough proof that he is a big game player and should earn the combined pay of Walcott, Oxlade and Danny. But the Prof knows better. |
Iniesta and we the fans should be spared the pain of watching him develop footballing Alzheimer. His movement is next to dead. Think its time he hangs his boots. |
Barca is a shadow of itself. The team is noticably aging....oh well, all good things must come to an end. Ask Manchester United. |
kabrud:You are not elected to give reasons but to provide solutions. If not in two years someone with a solution will replace you, period. The clock is ticking. |
Good to know they are trying hard to save to help quench the raging inferno which is the Naira's value but they mmust know this. Savings can only make you rich. It cannot confer wealth on any individual, group or nation. Wealth is a function of the capacity to generate.... that is to make, create, innovate. This is what government should be urgently doing. |
yemi1261:He is a thief. Started stealing public funds in 1973. |
So you were a guest of Her Majesty for four years in what capacity, an ambassador,?#@/?^ . Naturally one will expect that after staying in 'civilised' Britain for a few years some good traits will have stuck..... like telling the truth. |
sarrki:It is not enough to handle a complex entity that is Nigeria. One of the fundamental reasons why things have not turned out as anticipated is that the country has moved beyond his vision of what makes for peace and progress. People have become more enlightened and assertive, demanding negotiations for status change but unfortunately he remains an establishment figure hell bent on maintaining the status quo., that is the old order called Nigeria as handed down by the colonialists but is not widely accepted these days. If he cannot begin to restructure this country, I cannot see what the overwhelming achievement will be at the end of his Presidency. |
For how many years have I said that air travel is beyond Nigeria and the so called industry, or business is all a farce. What happened to Bellview in the hands of AMCON. That will be the destiny of Arik. Ten billion to be stolen or thrown away. Bloody waste of time. |
Security expert.... analyst..... strategist.....hmmm.... teacher show us worked examples. |
Kondomatic:It is still the same thing, the company is bound to fold. Staying is just postponing the inevitable. To cover for his theft will mean other staff working beyond their assigned abilities and competencies which is also not worth it. The problem most people have whether it is those working in government or in industry is that they have this mental detachment from what they do and the establishment they work for. They have this narrow vision and cannot see the broader picture of career, values and wealth creation. They just feel that 'I am there for a while so it doesn't matter'. But the effects of corruption are longer lasting on the psyche of the individuals participating or witnessing it. I will liken it to a typical child who lives in war torn Bornu. Even after the war has ended he will grow with mental battle scars that will last a lifetime and affect the way he relates with others. Same with corruption. If you hang around it too long, you will develop mental scarring that will hinder your future abilities to succeed whether you are a participant or not. I cannot go into the detail here but a couple of examples: You have established a business of your own, you mental scar will prevent you from trusting your workers thereby limiting their creativity and dexterity. Or you have a business on your own and encounter challenges, you are more likely going to cut corners and do your own littke corruption because you have witnessed it 'ssuccessfully' being done before, and many more. Corruption is bad. And ahould be eliminated immediately if identified around you. The biggest problem Niherians have as individuals surrounds or system of values. It has corroded society and left us poor and undeveloped. Not just government but the whole of society |
When (not if) the company folds up due to mismanagement hindsight will indeed become 20/20. |
Now after the criticism comes the advice. How do you try to minimise incidences of corruption in this failed system. You do that by employing a security man at your gates. Or an auditor to scrutinise your books. Why. Because you are not equiped or disposes to doing that. The security man is engaged to be awake whike you are ASLEEP. He is alert while you are ILL and around while you are away.... even in London (no pun intended). The auditor knows more than you about facts and figures of monies he DOES NOT JOIN YOU IN SPENDING. He can bring out the discrepancies of even your wife and lay the facts and hard truths beforw you that even your son will hide. All in all so that your treasury is kept healthy and safe. In politics and democracies that watch dog is called OPPOSITION and the health of the opposition will DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF GOVERNMENT. So no matter how you hate his face the auditor will tell you the truth. ... for a fee... you will PAY for it... but it wilo keep you safe and performing. So how have the authorities worked to ensure they have a functional opposition to rid this country of corruption because if they have institutionalised the fight, more people will be on trial and in jail aided by forces outside the government but when there are no safety systems and warning alarms accidents are bound to happen. If this government wants a LEGACY of a successful corruption war, it needs all the help it can get and it has to open up to all institutions and all peoples to help it win. You cannot win an insurgent war without first the hearts and minds of the inhabitants. The bulk of Nigerians live and work around corruption and view the governmwnt tacitly or openly as the enemy. To win, the government needs to start engaging them in dialogue. Listening to their views on how and who can bring this fight to an end. If not, we are just wasting our time. |
I totally disagree. When you catch a rat eating your corn it will be foolhardy to just remove the corn from the rats reach and send the rat on its way. You kill the rat to break the CHAIN OF REPRODUCTION if not more rats will breed and they know the route to your store. If a crime is comitted as was in this case it is not enough to remove the perpetuator from the scene but administer justice. The GEJ administration did not act properly in this regard. It should not have only removed him but prosecuted him as well to break the chain of corruption. That is how to make adminstrative institutions work so that you deter criminality properly. Then the next regime cannot but tow the line. By not handing him over to the criminal justice system they had given impetus to Kachikwu and the present GMD who are most likely stealing and building their own private vaults. When I say corruption is systemic and cannot be eradicated in Nigeria, this is the EXACT reason. It is NEVER punished at source, at scene and at the second it is commited. If we always wait for THE NEXT REGIME to administer justice then we can never eradicate it. Simply because justice delayed is justice denied. When you create a lacuna all sorts of sentiments fester to ensure justice is not administered. That is why 2 years after starting an anti corruption war it is virtually dead with hardly any results. This is simply because all the people arraigned today were supposed to have been on trial since before this regime, when the evidence was HOT and sentiments LOW. But today you try it and hear political witch-hunt cries, religious cries, ethnocentric cries. And that viscious cycle continues. The Buhari/APC regime cannot bring any of its own offending members and appointees with cases from the Senate President, the House Speaker, the Presidency staff, ministers, etc to trial. They simply wait for the next government to do that for them. How then can we set ourselves free from corruption. So, let no one hide behind sentiments to explain this one away. If the Jonathan administration caught the man stealing he should have been prosecuted. Anything else smacks of complicity and I am dead sure this is the case. He knows what they did as well so it became a Mexican standoff. And it is Nigeria that is caught in the middle. Under this system and without restructuring, CORRUPTION CAN NEVER, EVER END. I don't care who is in power. |
In a nutshell, they supervise their input. The Architect designs the habitable space so he ensures (supervises) that the construction process makes reality the vision he lays down. The Builder designs the nuts and bolts of the vision and the flow patterns to achieve it and ensures (supervises) the patterns are followed. If there is any engineering to be done it is designed and supervised by the relevant party. So each of them has a responsibility as part of a team the captain of which is dependent on the nature of the project. Just like in team sports. Now, the Client I will liken to the coach. He chooses his team and appoints his captain from amongst the various professionals involved. In football some coaches prefer defenders being captains, some prefer midfielders, some prefer strikers. Some coaches select based on service longevity, some on leadership qualities, some just because the fellow brings them tea in the morning. It is the coaches preference just as it is the preference of the client to choose whichever professional heads his construction team. In most cases individuals select individuals they know while corporates are more likely to go with conventional wisdom in selecting the Architect as captain since he is likely the first peraon to earn a pay check on most building projects. |
whizqueen:She should put the house up for sale. Take the money and reboot her investment. This time with an emphasis on development for sale not rent. But if she is insistent on chasing rents she should develop commercial properties. |
Really disappointing. Obvious they are going mass marketing. |
He refused to employ the educated but chose to core out his business to social responsibility. This is the price of having ignorance running your fleet. |
mrvitalis:There are several other alternatives which the government chooses to ignore to stimulate the economy and manage fiscal policy. What we experience is purely the result of the Buhari philosophy whuch the government has doggedly followed despite overwhelming warnings by both local and foreign experts and institutions. What annoys people even further is that the government which earns a fraction of what is used to earn is determined to spend in exactly the same manner without caution. The budgets today and those of yesteryears are exactly alike, some items of questionable expenditure are even worse. Look, there is no way you can be doing the samething and expect different results. That is why it is not trusted with more debts. Simple. People fund ideas expecially revolutionary ones. There are none coming from government because it has expended all its energy and intellect in offensive political battles all these years and has nothing left to give. |
oduastates:What did I say a couple of years ago about the development of the country and the failed model we have chosen to adopt. What real value to the country do CONTRACTING companies bring especially the foreign ones. They come to this country literally with only the clothes on their backs, attach themselves to local lackeys who peddle them to corrupt government officials, collect monies in advance and cause massive capital flight leaving us with currency and economic turbulence. What do they do that cannot be executed by direct labour under consulted supervision. Is it roads, bridges, culverts, dams or what. In the midst of economic harship it is beyond belief that we are giving scarce jobs to foreigners and stipends to our country men in the name of social relief. |
You guys are just being unfair to Tuface. He has raised social awareness. That in itself is a great achievement. If he has genuine concerns about security, it is his prerogative. Next time it might go through. And if this government does not take heed and begins to reform its ways knowing it has dodged a bullet, next time it will be a blast out of nowhere. I think Nigeria has profited greatly from this act. |
For a first house on a small budget its not too bad but you will have problems with the core of the building. The passage to the bedrooms has no direct access to the outside so temperature and more importantly light will be sparse leading to your fumbing with door keys every time. You know that feeling whaen you get back from church and you badly wanna pee but you can't find the damn keyhole. Boy that's not nice. Why am I saying so. No guest pee room and no barrier between guest areas and private areas so your room doors will have to be locked frequently. Secondly Bedroom 2 and Kitchen will be stuffy and hot in the spring because they are core located and on the dead zone of most townhouses (side facing, perimeter wall facing), where the perimeter fence is just a few feet away and closer to the neighbouring building than front or back facing rooms. Most times the neighbouring building will have a kitchen located there and a verandah to go with it (Nigerian designs are all too similar) which means noise and air pollution. To solve this I will suggest moving the master bath to the outside of the building so the master room can retain cross ventilation and extending the passage to the back wall and installing a window there. Then Bedroom 2, Kitchen and store can be ventilated by internal windows and light into the passage as well. Goodluck. |
Well if he can't do it, he cannot do it, and if he has concerns, then let him be. He has done a lot already. Created deep awareness. The next strike of the matchstick might produce the right rewards. Nigeria is getting better in that regards. |

It is the people that make the country they live in. A country cannot rise above the quality of its inhabitants. Nigerians seriously need to educate themselves and I mean themselves. |
