The PDP should just shut it and accept they lost fair and square. The elections went well and their candidate was roundly defeated. I think its time to mature the political space and end these shenanigans for the sake of our country. The new governor must be allowed to hit the ground running. Governance is about the people and their service should be in the interests of all parties concerned. Enough is enough.

Good one. Congratulations to him. Now is the time to put plan to action and take the state to the next level. The outcome is a solid testament of the support the governing APC party has in the state and the belief in continuity. For the PDP, they obviously have not proven beyond doubt that they are ready to provide a credible alternative government. They should learn from this loss and make a better fight of it next time.

That is a disgusting view and highly thoughtless. They are the reason you still have a country and not a caliphate to call your own. If a system is bad by all means call it bad, but to tar everyone with that brush and use it against them at a point when we should be sympathetic is quite frankly, pathetic. I hope at the place of your trial, when life's challenges inundate you (and we will all face them at some point), someone somewhere will not recall something someone you knew did wrong to judge you when you most need a shoulder to lean on.

The man already said we should be grateful that they haven't turned Nigeria to Venezuela where people queue for food. Nigerians are divided and too docile and that's what Lie Mohammed and his ilks capitalise on to insult our collective intelligence.
No, they are under tremendous pressure already and they cannot deny that. Hopefully Nigerians have been enlightened and empowered enough by their sufferings to make the changes in 2019 if necessary and once more I am sure they in power are smart to realise that. Overall we should be careful to understand the dynamics of people power in the democratic space and use it wisely too. Like the process of tanning leather, forging iron or cooking food, ingredients, heat and pressure is reqiuired but the amounts of these are regulated in a skilled workman's hands. Too little or too much will ruin things. Watch the American electoral process. At the end of the day it is the person who walks the fine lines best that will win. We can scream this government to a ruin. It is possible and we will all suffer for it.

What is the difference between you folks and those who blame the present on the past denying responsibility in the process. We are all responsible for our future and cannot get there if we choose to dwell only in the present. Is it a curse of the blackman not to be forward viewing.

Politics › Re: Recession: Buhari Is Incompetent - Sule Lamido by Reference(m): 4:33pm On Sep 27, 2016
Very incorrect by Lamido. Buhari was not elected to revive the economy, he was elected to fight corruption and he is doing a better job than all of his predecessors.

Now whether we need those competencies right now is another matter. Whether it was the principal need of Nigeria is yet another matter. And whether it will be the principal need of Nigeria by 2019, 2020 or 2030 is yet another matter. These were not Buhari's fault but the electorate. Until we understand that government is a service station like a bank or restaurant and politicians and government people are servants, tellers, chefs, waiters we will continue to wallow in abject misery for their competencies donot include that of anticipating choice. They can cook and serve you a good meal. They cannot choose from the menu to satisfy your palette. For it is pointless seeking Chinese pringles, lamb chops in sweet and sour sauce from Iya Basira. Why people expect economic sagacity from this goveroent beats my imagination. Nigerians should swallow their ignorance and stop blaming the chef, it is they who have made wrong choices.

It is the crass ignorance of Nigerians killing this country not Buhari. They know next to nothing about how democracy and governance works and how to make it work for them that is why sentiments of all sorts occupy the political space. Lamido should just shut it and sit down. If he wants to heip Nigeria he should start a civic apolitical enlightenement campaign because his people need it badly.

The light at the end of this sad tunnel is that this might kickstart the long awaited ideology based politicking where parties take up left or right spaces across the spectrum of the socio-economic landscape just as you have in the developed world.

Celebrities › Re: Freeze Describes Pastors As "Yahoo Boys In Pentecostal Suits" by Reference(m): 1:32pm On Sep 26, 2016
Jesus made reference to tithes. He said clearly. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and onto God what is God's in clear reference to money and taxes. The Cshristian Tax is called 'Tithe' and by the wisdom of scriptures it is set at 10 percent, way back thousands of years ago. And like Caesar's tax it is used for developing the church and promoting the kingdom of God just like the Caesers collected theirs for the development of the Roman Empire which included the payment of salaries, the building of infrastructure and the paymemt for the numerous military campaigns to expand the empire. The Church of Jesus has need of similar resources to pay its staff, build its infrastructure and evangelise (modern day battles of conquest).

What is so hard to understand about this to so called modern day Christians. If you won't pay, who will then pay, the government?, followers of other faiths?. They have stopped paying in the western world and the churches are on the decline, ministers are going into penury and leaving the faith in droves and chrches are forced into spiritual prostitution to make up. Is this what Christians want.

Is it the poor that will pay these bills Jesus asked when he was equally rebuked for the gifts he received. That the poor WILL ALWAYS BE AMONGST YOU' meaning their upkeep is your constant obligation and for me it is just once a month. He is not saying do not give the poor but give go my church, my body statutorily. Will Freeze accept his salary is paid to the homeless, constantly. Can he survive that way. What sort of thinking is that. They accuse the 'Yahoo' churches of fraud then are aghast when these churches spring up everywhere. Is it fertilizer they use. That is the will of God. Freeze or whatever knows little about God and his ways and should just stick to the things he understands.

The fact that the South is divided today does not mean it will stay divided perpetually. Remember the division you are talking about in the South was orchestrated by GEJ when he chose to sideline key political figures from the zone despite the fact that they were responsible to his ascension of the throne? Also remember that the SW has been the only region keeping this country together. If today the SW decides to go back to her tent, you can be sure the SE will only clap hands and hasten back home.
The key loosers will be those of us from Middle belt without coherent association and of course the Hassan FULANIS.
If PMB is serious about rebuilding this country, he should address the noise of corruption that is oozing out from his inner chamber. Allow Abba Kyari and Dairy face EFCC and come clean and this will lend credence to his anti corruption fight. He should demonstrate to us for once that what PDP is saying about the anti corruption fight to be one sided is not true and submitting his staff for probe.
Nigerian should eschew tribal and political sentiments and let's fight corruption collectively before its too late.
But you know that is not possible. That cannibalism is not permitted in the holy books. This is why we have said for decades: 'Only restructuring can save us'. No man can. We have flipped all the cards including the one with Buhari's face as the joker but still losing.

I am not surprised by the posture of the Abuja factional APC. The envy some people have for Tinubu within a party he worked and sweated to build is legendary. From the moment James Faleke was schemed out, I knew that some people who feel threatened by BAT were determined to cut him to "size". But the BAT I know has fought lots of familiar battle, and he shall triumph.

My prayer is for him to join forces with us to punish APC.in 2019
Long before the Faleke inquisition. The day Lai Mohammed declared that the APC had 'many leaders' was the day the horse called APC bolted. C'mon man, what does the law of power say about this matter. The same mistake Amaechi made in the haste to undermine and replace Jonathan as defacto south leader, so Tinubu was to eager to assert his influence instead of allow the old lion to wither. If Tinubu is as skilled he should have sensed Buhari could not make it and bidded his time instead of making school boy errors.

Which mistake? You are clearly not serious and not a Yoruba . You will soon see the grave consequences if something is not quickly done. Unlike those fighting Tinubu,he has the experience, human and material resources to single-handedly kill a national party. It was things like this that made him kill a national party, AD and built a new one ,AC, from the scratch.
The political destiny of the west has always been in their own hands.
And what stops Buhari from building his own political structures in the West which by the way he is already doing with the best materials APC west has or should I say had; and then waiting at the last moment to ambush Tinubu when he wants to strike back. I am dead sure the likes of Fashola will have passed on the 'Tinubu Files' and they will be in an unplugged microwave oven waiting.....

My friend, in politics you are a toddler. This is a ex-president you guys are toying, an ex-civil war veteran and general, an ex-coupist and a blue blooded fulani man. He is no Jonathan and will not go against his will a second time. There is a reason he has been kept out of leadership all these years. Tinubu gambled and lost by backing him then like a typical novice punter throws more cards away to recover and keeps getting it wrong.

It was a big, big, big mistake not to accede the party leadership to Buhari and now a bigger one to undermine him. Who is Tinubu going to use to 'replace' Buhari when all 2015 candidates are compromised or under investigation.

Guy. Buhari holds all the aces now and is proving to be as impermeable as a crocodile in water. I've said he doesn't respond to inhouse corruption. Tinubu should have read his history. His snipers have now fired the first shot and given themselves away. Oh boy just wait for the response in time.
