willibounce1:Women are generally like that. Care free, short term tunnel visionaires and thinkers. Cannot grasp the weight of their actions. Always living for the moment. Your country is on its knees. You are going with a begging bowl to 'outshine' your benefactors knowing well the international informal media will slam you for this. Look at the human being called PEJ. Your husband is severely blamed for crashing the economy and is under a microscope for potential corruption and you effectively clear every doubt of your character and disposition by openly struggling with the state for money even a child knows cannot be yours. Women.... making life impossible for their men.... |
KINGwax007:That is what he is trying to tell you but you are not listening, just focused on the man, not the message, typical of people who cannot and will not get ahead. He acknowledges like everyone that income has fallen. Leadership's reponsibility is to mitigate not sit down and worsen it. That is what diffrentiates quality leadership, period. Eveyone accepts you have lost your job, a real man reacts properly, a lazy one cries in his bedroom. You folks should stop politics and politicking and tell yourself the truth for once and pressurize your government to sit up for your own good. Last elections was 18 months ago, next elections is more than that so we are bang in the middle of an electoral cycle, governance should be prime time, not politics. |
AntiWailer:So if you are made a leader of a country and your people are starving, this is what you willl present to them everyday. Excuses. They wil eat you raw. For your information, the economic crises of 2008 was on record as the worst since the Great Depression of the thirties and it was a global phenomenon. Asia, Europe and the Americas were all badly affected. Obama came on board and almost single handedly turned not just his country's economy around but led to mild recoveries in Asia and Europe. He didn't say the world was down so Americans can starve. That is not leadership and I hope you will never get there with this mindset. Nigeria has an economy similar to the US which is import/consumer driven with a huge service sector. There are certain economic recovery policies we can learn from them and avoid certain mistakes we make by studying how they got out. But you will not profit from these with an attitude that is defensive and snobbish and stubbornly conceited. So sorry. |
Goke7:He is absolutely right. It is this bad because the infection was allowed to linger leading to economic sepsis. The moment your earnings begin to fall you permit your currency to match the falls naturally so you can maintian productivity. Every dummy knows this. Every dummy does this in his own personal micro economy. When your salary is cut you've got to cut your ability to buy stuff in favour of protecting your productivity. What Buhari did instead was to cut productivity in favour of purchases/assets, etc and ruined the field for those who had the funds to produce. Needless to say they have taken their money elsewhere. The tragedy is that some still think this was a mistake and we were better off banning every commodity and service from the importation list and thus virtually ending international trade and letting inky government control the foreign reserves for God knows what, which will have crashed to unprecedented low levels anyway. |
Lovely ladies and gentlemen. Great job. You guys will always be in our hearts because you stood to make us proud and happy in the midst of unprecedented difficulties and challenges as a nation. |
But how old are some of these gas plants that they are giving so much trouble already, haba. |
NgeneUkwenu:1st quarter end is just five months away. It is ridiculous to imagine any sort of movement in that time span when nothing is being done to reverse the slide right now. Money matters is perception, not kick starter. Good news takes time to filter through to stats. The government is too slow on the up take. They are reacting to economic attacks like Peter Rufai in France 98, diving after the ball is back in the centre circle for a restart. |
salabscholar01:But your colleagues are saying it has been there since Mungo Park discovered the source of the Niger so where have you been. Were you just born this last Sallah celebrations. Another trying to white wash the sepulchre. Didn't they see their pink slips before signing for them all these 18 months. Dem no dey get alert. Abegi. |
NOC1:But you guys were saying they were a break from the past, so why using the past as a yardstick. Is this not being clever by half. What is the 'change' then. With all the hype, you shouldn't be hearing of such anymore. |
Dandeson1:No longer PDP and corruption eh.....Una no get stable views. Always dancing round stories and perching where the sun shines. |
originalmachine:The photo is just an illustration. What is wrong with you folks. The only thing absent are tne credits. Are these things so hard to understand. When you come unto social media, or print media, or any otner media for that matter it behoves on you to view things rationally. |
Hmmmm..... times are hard for them I guess. |
Yeah, quite nice. But the bridge at Abak, Akwa Ibom over that gorge is another engineering masterpiece by Messers Julius Berger. Anyone has the pics. |
bellenornor:Are these solutions. He is asking for solutions and you are giving him multiple additional tasks. What manner of counselor are thou? |
nma24:See them....Are proper meals not part of home management. The lady is lucky the man is seeking advice. Some will just go out and capitulate to the attractions of timely takeaways....with a lot of spice and even nightcaps by the side ![]() |
Huston1:Well, oga, na your cross. You don buy market. Be cautious about trying to change her personality. You could unravel the whole package and throw away the baby with the bath water. Your health is going to suffer later in life but....isn't it for better and for worse... in sickness and in health... |
afroLAD:Its not just about being hungry but it is a terribly bad practice. When you eat late (closer to bed time) you labour the digestive system that is preparing to shut down in accordance with your body clock, leaving a lot of the food undigested and moving it staight to your waste processing department which is a strain in those organs. Also because your activities are winding down the energy from the digested food is unutilised and is converted to fat.... the very dangerous residual belly fat. Anything after 7pm is courting long term trouble. Due to the lack of electricity for light and preservation our fathers ate early and as such kept slight figures even at old age and reduced activity. These days with industrialization, electricity and electric powered conveniences including entertainment folks literally eat their way to dawn..... and serious pong term medical problems. |
Ibime:Exactly. I warned of this severally but APC fanantics took exception with sound reason and slaughtered the economy on tne altar of party politicking led by the high priest of fiscal conservatism, president Buhari himself. Where were the reserves to artificially support the naira. Where were the forex earnings to uphold the unrealistic rate. None. If not for the last minute capitulation our reserves will have been something like 10 billion by now and the rates in black will still have been where they are right now with the spread in the pockets of bigwigs according to Sanusi. |
ephi123:No one should even begin to hide under oil prices. They have been low for almost two years now. The present budget was tied to a price lower than we have today. Why can't it impact positively on the economy. And if we know oil is unstable why can't we draw foreign investment with the naira so weak and our assets so attractively priced. Answer, the environment is poor. Can this be blamed on the past regime. No. When will the present regime begin to take responsibility.... 2017, 2018, 2019 or never. Nigerians have a right to know so they can begin to chart their own future if the government cannot stand to do its job and help them. |
This is the first stat that directly indicts the present government. No one will be able to blame the past adminstration for this. This is the direct result of the constant demarketing of the country on top of haphazard policies. The hole we are in is still expanding and deepening. It may take another full year to hit tne bottom of it. Recovery may not be in the life of this administration. I'm yet to see otherwise. Our hope lies in OPEC. They govern this country ultimately. |
Fantastic development. Anything to make the lives of Lagosians easier is welcome. The place is hell on earth. |
nijanigga:It is in no one's interest for him to be sacked. He is perfectly placed to repair the carnage left by two seasons of managerial misdirection. It will take time. I still rate them for top four. |
If by 'church' you mean a gathering of people practicing the Christian religion as registered by the CAC then you may ask the goveroent but if you mean a person or group of persons united with Christ then it is obvious. There was no seperate program of creation, man and woman have the same kind of soul, are subject to the same laws, will be judged by the same Word and will go to the same heaven. Where does the disparity come from if not the entity that seeks constant division and destruction of all God does. Man and woman are equal before God in all things. |
Candid. The present problems in power are typical Nigeria problems. Without full privatisation and liberalisation will never be overcome. |
Christians donot experience recession. Recession is a territorial thing and Christians operate an independent insulated economy. If a person who calls himself a Christian is experiencing a downturn then such a person is not 'planted in the kingdom of God', such a person is not continually connected to God, such a person does not know God properly or such a person is walking in disobedience and not in His will. God sees tomorrow from today and as a shepherd knows when to move his cattle around the country to look for pasture in dry season and to avoid parasites in rainy season so the God of all knowledge positions 'His sheep' to prosper in all seasons. I am aware some churches, pastors have developed recession bucking programs and missions but what they teach is nothing new but what a Christian should be doing constantly irrespective of times and seasons. There is nothing special about recession and God. Some think He causes these events to get people's attention but once more we can see they are man made catastrophies. However we must be careful to avoid black pastors who will capitalise on the events of sufèring and misery of people to exploit them for personal gain. God is not emotionally driven. He operates by the Word which is constant irrespective of what we do to ourselves. |
Completely useless advice. She should accept disrespect by infidelity and seek to gain or regain it by financial independence?. Does this sound like a relationship. Am not really sure you think through these things properly before posting. What then is the incentive for the woman to stay and will this not lead to the very instability you seek to prevent. This is one of those antivenom kinds of postulations where you seek to use poison to cure poison. |
This is a sensible thing to do. Open up the country for investment by seeding assets that you currently expend so much resources just maintaining. When your economy recovers you can always buy them back or reinvest back into the sector if you wish. But from the looks of this government I don't think it will work because it is an establishment one that believes in big government for rent seeking purposes and political patronage. The very system we have run for decades, that has brought us into this macro mess eventually. |
Nacho with yet another goal in from the palm wine tapper. 10 goals from 14 shots is.... really wierd. |
And who says you pay them with tax money. They are paid by the Federal Government whose primary source of income is oil. So they are accountable to the Federal Government and the government is accoutable to OPEC. You donot feature in the value chain at all. The police by constitution is hard wired to protect themselves and by extension the government. Do you know the names of any policeman actively working in your area? No. How come you donot know the names of anyone that is supposedly accountable to you. But you know what is the name of your maiguard, your houseboy because you TRULY PAY THEM. So what is the solution. DEMAND TO PAY THEM, DEMAND TO APPOINT THEM, DEMAND TO SET THEIR STANDARDS. That is the basis of ALL police services in the developed world. In America every citizen of a county (local government) knows who his or her sheriff is and their deputies because they are usually ELECTED and paid by the county and handle ALL local matters to the exclusion of State and Federal police who only intervene where the crimes are so severe, technical, cross border or a threat to people beyond their sphere of influence. You will never see Federal or state police on a typical American street. Look my friend, the problem in this country is structure. With proper restructuring we can solve 9 out of 10 problems we commonly face on a daily basis. Without restructuring these problems will keep recurring without solution.... ....and abeg. What are you doing out at night at 11.30pm. I know everyone has his preferences and there is freedom of movement but without compulsion this is just not a wise thing to do in a country without functioning laws and enforcement. You are just toying with your life. Only the living can change things. |
They said corruption was the only, numero uno problem we had in Nigeria and because of this Mr. Buhari was elected. End corruption and Nigeria will be great again they chorused. Fight the looters, hang those who steal....okay, corruption has supposedly ended, no more money is being stolen I suppose, then why for the life of me is nothing.....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, getting better. Then they said, oh it is because we have not been saving and we wasted our reserves for 16 years.....but you have been saving for 18 months so once again..... why is the situation not getting better, rather worse. Okay, it is the oil price, it fell 60% from the dizzying heights of 2014 and production has been cut by unrests, okay.... but oil prices have remained stable at around 40 dollars for over two years now and production has been inconsistent for almost a year, why is the economy not stable at 40 dollar barrel size and adjusted to oil export cuts, WHY IS IT GETTING WORSE. Things are declining persistently though we have a new and 'incorruptible' government, which has supposedly cut all the waste and is earning a steady stream of oil income albeit at lower price and production levels. Why then is the situation not stabilizing, why is it getting worse. The excuses are getting exhausted. What is the truth about Nigeria. |
Flexherbal:It is you that has to rise, not naira. Naira is a non living thing. |
Hard earned money. This woman is an unrepentant, hardened criminal. I just don't understand how a human being can be so callous. I want to know what immunity this woman has that prevents her arrest and prosecution. This nonsense must stop. The money should be returned to the treasury immediately. |
