soberdrunk:Did you have the intent to marry all those ladies. If you did not then your case is different. People should have the dignity and integrity to do the right thing particularly when it comes to money matters. When money is exchanged purposefully, then accountability must be demaded. These are the things we should teach our sisters and daughters to avoid catastrophic problems which can occur because you never know who exactly is the person you are dealing with. 2 months is too short to make a marraige decision and it is too short to have that amount of money change hands for nothing. |
octopusfreaky:What a greedy woman. You have no intent of marrying but collected such extensive sums of money to what end. Why not stop him from paying and making your intentions known. Why do some ladies cover up this sordid aspect of their character. Now you find it difficult to accept he wants his money back. He too finds it too early to be dishing out money when he is not a charity. Even the brothers took a chunk of the loot. Greedy pigs. Money is everything to Nigerians. |
What are they waiting for. They should be sold, period. |
seunmsg:So there is something you don't like. Why not care about what other people don't like so that everyone can meet at the middle and then restructure the country into what everyone finds acceptable so that no one goes home feeling cheated and suspicious of the motives of the other and resentful or protective of only the views of only others he shares. And with a mindset to contribute meaningfully to the development of the country. When your mind is at rest you tend to be more productive. Why is it that leadership and government past and present are not concerned about the amount of resources in time and treasure this unstable country is wasting on issues of ethno-centricism. Can't understand. It just irritates me. |
seunmsg:That is it. Accomodate the views of different people. Are we not free from colonialism. That was the last form of government or can I say existence that 'forced' people to relate in ways contrary to their opinion and consistently fought them to remain. If a country must truly prosper it must allow people decide HOW THEY RELATE WITH ONE ANOTHER. If the Western man agrees that the Northern man gets all the appointments in government, so be it. If the Southern man agrees to provide the mainstay of the economy, so be it. But it all has to be discussed and agreed to end tribalism and socio-economic turbulence bedevelling us. No game should be played with unwritten rules and misunderstood laws and expect sanity. |
ificatchmodeh:That is it. Restructuring will put the country first and neutralise tribe because tribe will be put up for sacrifice as the first point of negotiations. You go in without tribe and come out with country. You restrict your inclinations to your bedroom knowing if you take them there you will fail and the system crumbles. It levels the playing field for all peoples of this country. That is restructuring. He took the lazy path by preempting regionalism. Who said that. Who asked a Lagos man to become part of Western Nigeria. What is western Nigeria. No one is asking for that. What people simply want is a REASON to be part of this club called Nigeria. And if they must can they have a copy of the club rules, study them and make an input if necessary. He is saying it is not necessary. That we should all just join and take what we see. Who does that. Who on earth joins an association he cannot influence. |
SaffronSpice:Let me give you just one for lack of time to dwell on nonsense. With one breathe he says he and his people (who made Buhari, bla bla bla) are marginalised for the so called technocrats as the cause for the lack of passion leading to the challenges today and the dangers tomorrow, and in another when asked on marginalisation says Buhari can appoint WHOMSOEVER he wishes, even his brothers provided they can delliver. How do you spell conundrum. That is why you need restructuring so these things are clearly defined for all to see and understand and prepare for both now and in the future so that IF THE NEXT PRESIDENT FROM ANOTHER REGION DOES EXACTLY THE SAME THING IT WILL BE UNDERSTOOD IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY, as we are made to 'understand' Buhari's and the fellow's views. Because the general feeling is that one region gets away with things others can't and it will not tolerate from them. The internet is awash with comments dating back to 1999 on this matter. |
seunmsg:Restructuring simply means an evaluation of the present system with the aim of taking it apart and rebuilding it to work to the satisfaction of all its constituents. When an engine knocks, you take it apart, chznge the parts that have failed and the parts that have led to the failure and rebuild the engine with the aim of not only restoring it but jmproving performance. Is this too hard to understand. No one is suggesting any course of action and preempting any outcome because it is about the collective will of all peoples negotiated to a solution. It is the basis of any kind of relationship whether marraige, family, business, employment, any relationship at all. When set goals are made it is easily to measure progress on a term basis. In America it is called the State of the Union and is evaluated on a yearly basis. That is a forum where all constituents meet to state their satisfaction with the nation and thrash out areas of friction and discord before they mushroom. If you live in a union where you donot care what the other party feels or thinks how on earth do you want to succeed. If you take your wife for granted chances are high you will be poisoned, if you take your business partner for granted chances are high you will be kidnapped or murdered. If you take your fellow citizen for granted, chances are ripe for continual economic, political and social upheavals that will not allow prosperity to berth in that country. It is a pity that people cannot see this in Nigeria, it is a tragedy that those who do choose to ignore it. Carry on. |
Since no one considers it worthy to inquire about town planning rules via development control measures, then we can all take laws into our hands and build whatever we want so the ball is firmly in your court. You could get half a million rooms if you intend to build an ant hill....believe me honestly this is what landlords do these days. |
abouzaid: Do you know how hard it is to find the 12 millon required to build this thing. If you took that amount of money and put in other capital goods whether durable or not can you imagine the kind of quality you will be demanding. Residential buildings are lifetime projects for most people and places where they spend the greatest proportion of their existence on earth, why should they not give the greatest joy and pride. Why should they look a lot worse than your typical car or clothes for instance and why should they be a nightmare to build or acquire.... |
Same ol, same ol. Lazy architecture. Mr. Man. Ask the architect to design WHAT YOU WANT. In your heart of hearts you know this is not what you want. I have seen countless architectural plans. ALMOST ALL LOOK LIKE THIS. How come. Are they factory made. Are they council houses. Or government quarters. Why are our dwelling places so unattractive, so bland, so communist. Architecture is about Man's built environment. No two men are the same so why use 'one taste fits all'. Room types - regular, room sizes - regular, room shapes - regular, room functions - regular, circulation - regular, windows, doors, every damn things is like the Joe's down the street or next door and I am co:cksure the external graphics will have the usual colonnades, gable end roofs and non descript arches symbolizing only God knows what. What home owners should demand are built spaces that reflect their personality and convey an experience rather than miserly illustrations of mediocrity. Are you Mr. Jones. |
Things can only change when Nigerians begin to pay them directly. Demand to be responsible not only for their election but their work as well. Let their constituents sponsor them to represent them and see whether they will not work 24/7. How can I be working almost 18 hours a day, 7 days a week and tolerate this kind of thing I spend my money on. Oil and allocations is killing this country. It will never allow us develop. He knows he owes the people of southern Kaduna practically nothing. He has thanked them for their votes.....what else do they want. Elections without backing responsibility is like crowning a contestant from a beauty pageant. After the contest what next.. |
'Hardship Allowance' at work. He's on sedatives after hard deliberations. |
Same ol, same ol. |
Restructure. Period. The country is unworkable. Anything else is no better than first aid. |
Government should be pro-active and take the necassary steps to dialogue with these people. Because it is fast losing control of its federating units. A country is only as strong as its weakest link. Historians and academicians will know this. Word for the wise. |
debbyzzy:That is not even the really bad part. The bad part is after 50 years of being a top ten oil and gas producer all we have to show for the billions of barrels out of the ground is 4 decaying refineries and half a gas plant. If not that the petrochemicals and fertilizers were tossed a while ago they will be rusted hulks by now. People scream, 'but is it not government mismanagement' then they bend over and take it up the rear yet again, defending the same folks violating them over and over and over and over, regime to regime to regime. What is wrong with Nigerians....haba. |
smart024:Yes. The government should right size itself on taxes. It will clear their heads and make public office less attractive to bandits. They don't care for you because they don't need your input. You don't pay them so you mean nothing to them. And the sad part of it is that you are proud of it and vehemently defend this sad anamoly. True prosperity starts with responsibility. Life Issues 101. I will declare Buhari the best President in the history of Nigeria if this is the only thing he can do. A total reform of the DNA of this country. |
Montaque:The privatisation of the power sector has more than served its purpose. The problems bedevelling it are as clear as crystal compared to say 5 years ago. There is complete transparency and accountability across the board. And as they often say a problem understood is half solved. The only factor outstanding in my opinion is to bridge the mammoth funding gap. This will take some time to navigate but is not helped by the government and its attitude towards the energy sector and its general handling of the economy. If power in the short term is to be solved then the government will have to rethink its participation in the gas sector as well. It is only government that can be so daft to flood the power pool with assets requiring constant gas supply without a plan for gas supply. These are the kinds of thinkers and methodmen the citizens want to continue in the business of providing social infrastructure. Can it happen to a private man, no. Will Shell buy a gas turbine and instal it with no idea of where and how to get gas and how to transmit the power to consumers. Will you, yes you build a factory with no idea of how to get raw materials to make stuff and no means of getting the stuff to market simply because your wife had a brainwave of an idea. Even Dangote, the lightning rod for the asset debacle is building a refinery and by extension a power station near where the raw materials are and where the market is. What is a gas power plant doing in Kogi state. Does Kogi state have gas. Why isn't Dangote building his refinery in Kano, his home state. This is why government the world over is worst placed in taking business decisions and should not be taking them and should relinquish any means by which it is taking them right now. |
They should all be sold off completely to allow the government focus on governance. Governmemt has no business in business. Its meddlesomeness is keeping the right players out. Since Obasanjo nationalised the oil sector. What has been our benefit as a nation beyond a legacy of corruption involving government officials for decades. How can we bring the competition to grow and prosper the sector. Which player will want to compete in a game the referee has partisan interests in. How can government grow its taxation 'muscles and brains' when taxes are not its primary source of income like any developed country and economy does. How can we ever free ourselves from the shackles of rent seeking when we earn from what we don't work for. In my personal opinion they are serious liabilities not assets. The only way to get this economy diversified is to build a solid corporate base that will build a flourishing middle class that will exploit the creative potentials of Nigerians to the maximum. You can imagine the sheer number of Nigerian multi-varied engineering professionals that have become an integral part of the power sector since the government let it go. You can imagine the depth of understanding of the challenges of the power sector compared with the ignorant silence from that industry in the hey days of government control. People speak as if government loses control of the country when it privatises. Does it not retain sovereign power to reverse these if they go wrong. Does it preclude it from reinvesting in the future if it falls for the allure of 'cheap black money'. It can build all sorts of caveats into the process, it can make it transparent like glass, it can demand any price it deems fit, it can protect itself anyway it likes but the principle is of great necessity if we are to change the narrative aboit our economy and get out of the quagmire we find ourselves. It is not just about raising money, but raising potentials and chaging mindsets. We behave like a monk who has dedicated himself to a fat and hides a bun under his tunic. There is no benefit whatsoever. |
They say it is one of the safest and most nutritious food sources out there.....perhaps when an asteroid hits earth and all others are exterminated. |
Victorakats:Ummm.....teacher, not so sure about that, but he is a fantastic preacher of the Word of God. A truly blessed man indeed. Brought my youthful haywire life under total control in my uni days so has my ultimate respect. |
Senorprinz:See this kind of reasoning. So those who do wierd things are right simply because they get away with it. Can you teach your loved ones any wisdom from what you wrote here.... Not suggesting that it what is happening to the lady in question. No one knows and its all speculation which should in no way becloud our sympathies and quest for speedy first aid for her. |
Maybe he actually means, 'I've been playing football for 23 years, not for 40 years'. |
No comment. |
If this all what the CPC has been able to extract from DSTV after 30 years of daylight robbery then its a pity. They should be removed from the constitution as a government agency. |
By 2019 everyone will be demystified. That is why idolatry is vain. Only God is holy. That is He means what He says and does what He claims. Others.... |
Hmmm..... Leicester City..... one season wonder.....set for mid table medoicrity and after giving out huge improved contracts may find themselves imploding like Blackburn Rovers. |
swezenberg:Are they Nigerians or just bear Nigerian names. |
swezenberg:They are on course for the title. City just shades it though due to their depth. |
Motion pictures for retards.... but.... heck, we must buy Nigeria |
RZArecta:I once asked people to find out who amongst the Ministers and Military Adminstrators that served between 1983 and 1985 is not a billionaire today (many times over due to inflation) or at the time of his demise. Corruption is not a person's name. It is a system of government we practice in Nigeria with constitutional backing. |
