Carlmax:Those are hung out to dry because they oppose the government openly. Those that have kept quiet and supported the government are now free and some are even advisers and appointees. |
This is the catch 22 situation, the quaqmire Nigeria is locked in, the shackles of corruption from which we CANNOT break free from. Buhari is President today because of corruption, the corrupt paved the way so he cannot possibly act or react, i.e bite the proverbial fingers that fed him. Without that he cannot clean the stable thoroughly and this imbalance torpedoes the whole system leading the government to 'bargain' instead of imposing the law without fear or favour. Do that and the whole government falls. The second problem is obvious. When you go hard on officials in Africa, instead of a better outcome you only make matters worse. They hide the misdeeds deeper as is happening now, scheming becomes more sophisticated and undetectable and at the far end of the scale the government becomes intransigent, unwilling to relinquish power and influencing the electoral process to cover its tracks. Let us see what will happen in 2019. What is clear, history is not kind to Nigeria in this respect concerning the entire polity, this type of government and this president, not because of his personality or the circumstances but the society which we have built for ourselves. |
sammyj:And what about the President's family. Where do they shop, eat and......school, and why. |
davodyguy:Better shut up and sit down. Both sides are trying hard to de-escalate the situation and you are making rubbish noise there. Has the military not been here since Saro-Wiwa was hung and what have they done to put an end to the ND militancy in 18 long years. Who has been losing so far, them or the country. Better wake up before a civil war breaks out and what is left of the economy is reduced to ashes. When you will be buying a loaf of bread for 5,000 naira your thinking will be reset. Boko haram is still costing us millions every week, trillions since it started and yet you want more bullets, bombs, aviation fuel, logistics and lives expended on another war in the Delta that cannot be won. If the government through Adesina confesses that it cannot monitor the northern border, how can you imagine it will ever, ever be able to man the southern, coastal shores with uncountable tributaries and wetlands with a navy of half a dozen competent vessels when the Ukrainians, Russians and other black economies are set and ready to exploit the vacumn for cheap oil. |

This kind of post coming directly from a rebel group should not be entertained on this forum. Their cause may be justified but they should propagate that themselves. |
Apt and thoughtful response from Mr. President and indeed the government. Highly commendable. |
emmasege:They are not Arabs but Asian expats working for the Saudi company. Where women cannot even drive automobiles you expect them to serve men publicly in tight skirts, haba. |
FFKfuckedBIANCA:Oil companies are not investors in the realistic sense of it. How can you call a company that has operated for close to fifty years and made billions of dollars exploiting mineral resources an investor. An investor brings capital and technologies of great need to bear that are unavailable and unattainable locally. The exploitative part of the oil industry is over-saturated. If they brought capital to refine, yes, but just to dig up and pipe out, that is nonsense. Adds nothing to us. Their investor status expired sometime in the late seventies. Any expatriate working for them then still around now will have naturalized to being a fufu eating, pidgin mouthing nigga by now. |
But c'mon. What was the woman thinking. To blaspheme in the north is suicide. And I will always this whether it is a case of rape or robbery or these sorts of things, people should actively avoid or prevent incidences by thinking and acting appropriately just like an animal in a jungle will. Africa is a game reserve, built to house predators and prey. We shoukd be responsibke for the choices we make. Society here remains primitive. It does't give a second chance. |
The world doesn't beef its own when they own things, do things, accomplish things. Only in God's House, God's Kingdom, God's People do folks have a 'problem' with others. Meanwhile part of my money goes to those 'wiggle your rear end' protagonists via the airtime I buy whether I like it or not. But none of their money goes to these men of the gospel via tithes and offerings yet they still have a problem with it poking their nose into what they dislike. |
SLIDEwaxie:And what about musicians who command you to strip to your knickers and wiggle your behind. Only the devil wishes to outshine God and his propaganda about what God and His servants should and should not be has lasted 2000 years. Just remember this. It is God who created the world and He alone owns everything. |
dadaha:But why can't they find other sources and means of funding. Must the fate of the country lie in what has been stolen by the last government. Embezzlement did not start with the last administration. It has been going on since independence but hasn't stopped various administrations from doing the least. This is one year plus. How much has been earned in a year that cannot start work anywhere. Haba. It is like you are a vulcanizer and someone broke into your house or shop and stole part of your tools and money. Does it stop you from working. Wil you just sit at home and mope. What kind of weak leadership is this. Part of the essence of leadership is turning water into wine figuratively, the creativity that smothens out the rough. If I was a CEO of a financially decimated enterprise, how long should I be given until my performances should overstep my excuses. When should we begin to hold this government accountable. Just getting tired and fed up about 'the misadventure of the last administration' story. If you keep your eyes glued to your rear view mirror, a tragic accident beckons. |

Very good development but I hope it has no strings attached. The kind of political wedge to split the Niger-Delta into factions for and against resource control but I trust the Ogonis. They don't do trade by barter especially when it comes to self actualisation. |
I call on all militants to return to the table please. |
Hmmm..... |
So you went to school, educated yourself just to buy an 'android phone'. Ha. Oga. You have the best job in the world simply because you have an opportunity to demonstrate your skill, tenacity, ethic and courage all of which are determinants of your true value. A salary, wage or contract is a reward for one or more of these inputs and is retrospective, it feeds on performance demonstrated. If you work hard on your output your salary will rise naturally with time and when it exceeds the capacity of the establishment you will be repositioned without application. Sometimes we want to reposition ourselves but end up restarting the process of evaluation and natural growth over again. You are in a show glass, people are watching. Be wise. |
And try to get some practical productive skill that generates tangible goods to save you a lot of turbulence in life. Nigeria does not have the foundation for what you do or claim to do. |
Proudlyngwa:You're just wasting your time. You expect 'him' to bite the fingers that fed 'them'. The so called militants, the Ateke's, the Tompolos are the reason he is able to do the projects he is doing when even the Federal government cannot kickstart its own. From Edo State to Akwa Ibom, from NDDC to Niger-Delta Ministry these 'militants' are the guarantors of the flow of funds from a dysfunctional centre to those states. Without them derivation will have been ended by Nigeria and its owners. So whether APC or PDP, any leader from that region at any level CANNOT toy with the wood for the fire. When we say restructure you people say no. There is a reason why children are given plastic cups while adults drink from fine china except you are born to royalty. Think Nigeria. |
Pure evil. |
EriggaPaperboi: Hahahahaha...... |
bee444:You see why I have problem with folks like you. Your quest for mediocrity is so insatiable you are willing to look for every narcotic including racism to get even. Better wake up and realise the world is a global village and there are no more skin barriers and standards. Arik collected his money paid in the same currency as a Nigerian on that flight. That a Nigerian sees nothing wrong in it is an indictment on Nigerians and not the man who observed it. Now I recognise that we are not a developed country but where I will draw the line between good and bad, decent and poor is between products and services. I can understand a low quality made in Nigeria shoe, automobile, electric stove, bottle of milk. But I cannot understand and tolerate poor quality service simply because the prime driver of good or bad service is attitude. The quality projected by Nigerian businesses and business men and women is a reflection of our attitude and values. That plane was not made by Arik. How much does it cost to upholster that seat. It can be done overnight. For goodness sake that seat can generate N150,000 in revenues in a day. You may not be able to build a house but when you rent you should be able to sweep the yard. If you don't and a neighbour points it out you will be foolish to start flying the racism kite. |
I think this is time we put these sorts of things to bed. The Jonathan administration is long gone and so should all the hindsight if not we will not make progress. The value of history lies only in giving direction to the present. It does not generate momentum so cannot profit us on its own. To dwell in it is futile. It has to stop. Nigeria has presumably learnt certain lessons and should move on. |
An someone was rejoicing that Arik will take up the slack caused by the departing American airlines just because he cannot come to terms with the failings of his pet administration. To ferry whom or what in these kinds of planes abeg. Talk of a local lizard trying to be an exotic American alligator. Can't provide decent seats. You can then imagine what is going on in the turbine assembly. God bless Rolls Royce or GE. |
idupaul:You had the opportunity to 'town hall' with him before elections. He evaded them, you kept quiet then put all your life savings in. When I say the electorate, followership is the problem. |
PUSH1:It is Nigeria that should move on. |
sandraokosun1:They don't care who is in Aso Rock but you cannot deny them of a livelihood while 'handing' over oil blocs to their fellow Nigerians literally for free. |
Dollyak:Who isn't after 'their pockets'. Those allocated oil blocs are charities abi. Do you work for free. |
English coaches in the premiership are an endangered species. |
Hmmmm.......attack and defend. Power and the responsibility that comes with it.....not a cake walk. Just a year ago we couldn't hear anything else but change. Today the reality of governance has hit home. He better sleep tight. The storm is just beginning. |
MadCow1:I see. Are these rampaging herdsmen part of the military. How many have been arrested. |
